Is everyone after me? What have I done? Why are you troubling my friends?
Am I all alone?
I’m with you! You look quite a lot like me, and as a mesmer I can sing a Siren’s Call myself…
I’ve spoken to a few noble friends of mine in DR and they would love if you stayed with them, especially one lord, a dear friend. I’m sure you’d find the decor in his house a lot nicer than in that pirate cave…
Congratulations! I have to admit, I am a bit (who am I kidding, a lot) jelly.
I’m not sure why people think that holiday event characters like the Thorns and Moto are integral parts of the game world. To my mind it just isn’t relevant and you can just accept holiday content as meaningless fun.
Woah, I would’ve not had the guts to call Mad King Thorn irrelevant and meaningless in front of one of the King’s wives! =O
I didn’t even come to think of that! You’re probably right, it’s unlikely for them to physically be there.
In the concept art picture in the release page for The Nightmares Within you can see old enemies like First Mate Horrik, Molten Firestorm, Molten Berserker and Mai Trinn.
Are we going to face them in the tower?
I understand, but I hope they’ll do it for some of the future updates. I kind of feel like an outsider when the other characters talk and mine stays silent.
I really liked the cutscene too. The only thing that would’ve made it better is if my character would’ve said something.
I’d buy it too, it’d be perfect for my mesmer!
While we love the website stories and they won’t be going away, we are working on ways to try and get more of that experience (and story) available to see, and read in game.
More of our high-quality cinematics isn’t really an option, since they take months and many people to make and we’re at max (or over) capacity on those at is most of the time.
Any solution will likely include our plans to try and make Living World, and stories around it easier to access, understand, and find out more about even once they have past.
Keep the suggestions coming, we’re always listening and do want to resolve getting stronger, more approachable, easier to understand stories as part of the Gw2 experience.
What do you mean by high-quality cinematics? Does this mean I’ll never hear my character talk to other characters again? It kind of feels dumb to just stand by quietly as the others characters talk to each other and ignore my character.
Someone who we know is very powerful, not only because of his powers, but mostly because of connections. Someone who’s not either bad or good, more like grey.
Someone who isn’t mad or working without the reasons. Person who is very confident, adult, who we feel is always step further than us. Who has clear ideas, not to “destroy the world muahahaha” but more like someone who has his own vision/idea on how to “fix” thing, a born leader with charisma, yet not loud.
It can’t be any crazy technican or zomg big boss. More like a man in a suit.
It has to be someone we would like to joinIf you have ever read “The Witcher” saga, take a look at Emhyr van Emreis or Vilgefortz. They’re both perfect villians for me. Especially Vilgefortz
My villain would have very much same qualities as yours. He would be mysterious, powerful and very confident and charismatic and wouldn’t really be good or bad. The player character would be very close with him, even have a crush on him. Then at some point he’d betray the player and leave the character with a broken heart.
Maybe the player character could even capture this villain, but he’d escape and the player character would be really mad and yet still have feelings for him. Of course this villain could be a female too.
(Too much like Caithe and Faolain and soap opera? Not if you ask me =D)
I think Konig is right, they probably hadn’t decided what direction to go in terms of lore yet. Kind of weird that they’d spend money on such a lore-defining CGI trailer that early on if that’s the case, but hey.
The very first trailer, for the Guild Wars alpha was even worse though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydyueTjyl80
Woah! Is that really a trailer for GW1?! Funny how there’s not a single thing similar to what we have in GW1. Except maybe the red circles around enemies… =D
Guessed Enemy: Gwen. Just because.
Gwen should hear about the peace with the beasts, and come back from the Underworld, tearing apart cities with rage. Really, I’m so disappointed – her campaign against the beasts went for nothing. “All iris flowers are dead. Soon, the charr will follow!” …and they didn’t.
(Don’t mind me, I cry when I see the ruins of Northern Wall etc.) xD
Btw. Gwen wouldn’t be enemy! I would stand with her, to bane the wild beasts from her homeland!Don’t mind me, being the first to put a bullet through Gwen’s unholy zombie head.
“BuddhaKeks, you killed the zombie Gwen!” – “She was a zombie?”
Don’t you dare even try! My mesmer will make you think you’re shooting Gwen when you’re actually pointing the gun against your own head!
And I think Captain Logan Thackeray of the Seraph won’t hesitate to help me. Maybe he’ll even bring a few seraph soldiers with him. You know, this is about his ancestor.
I too have already posted on this thread, but after listening to the video in Keitaro’s link above, I had to post again. I just can’t explain the feelings I get when listening to the Factions theme. I get the chills and feel so happy and peaceful at the same time. And I get so excited when I think what ANet could do with Cantha in GW2: the scenery could be absolutely gorgeous and the music could be so beautiful.
For Cantha!
Yes, ANet, please… Give us the armors in the comment above mine. I’ve been waiting for Anise’s armor since the launch, why won’t you give it to us??
I’d also gladly pay for new haircuts, plus the new face Captain Ellen Kiel has!
I really love your drawings summourn. I’d also like more elegant, long and flowery hairstyles for the sylvari. By the way, I have 2 female sylvari characters too, a guardian and an elementalist
Yeah, I really wish we could steal Caladbolg back from Trahearne. He doesn’t know how to use it anyway.
I will be really disappointed if we won’t be able to get to Cantha in GW2. Factions was my favourite campaign for the original GW. I just loved the Asian theme : the land, the music and so on. And as much as I’m excited for any totally new areas we’ll get to explore in the future, old places including Cantha and Elona are very important to me.

I noticed the change too. The bottom of my armor set ( Norgu’s armor ) looks different when my female character runs. I think this running style looks similar to the one you would previously get after your character had been hit. She would run slower for a while and have this different animation.
“Miley” looks really pretty. I hope ANet sees this, I’d really like to see these hairstyles ingame!
Dang, Snow White, now I want that first hair ( the 2 hairstyles combined ) for my mesmer! It’s gorgeous!
Anise’s armor and particularly the armor in the mesmer skill video is just gorgeous. Please ANet, add the armor to the game! Make it an armor skin for the Gem Store, make it a cultural armor, make it anything! I just need that armor!!!
