Annnoyance: Logout bug?

Sankofa Jimiyu.1567

It is something I report, but it keeps happening.

I logout of the client properly and shut it down. Another user sometimes logs in and does work and/or the screensaver comes on. The usual stuff.
When I log back in on my profile, I sometimes get a pop-up saying the client has crashed, requesting me to submit an error report.

I don’t know if this is something anyone else is having issues with.

Moa Morph is the definition of an IWIN button

Moa used as a defense tactic, rather than offense.
In a group event it is nice to show up and throw a little madness into the fray.
There can be a frenzy of players against a boss that has already downed some players.
Creating the confusion is not always enough to help, but Moa usually gives downed players a chance to recover, or others to come in and assist. 10 seconds to get your act together.
It is also useful for me with ranged attackers and spellcasters, forcing them into close quarters so when they do change back, they are within range for melee players.

Moa Morph being an Elite with a long CD, means there has to be some strategy to it, otherwise it’s wasted. It has never won a battle for me, but it has made my fights more about tactics and planning than direct damage.

Everyone is glad that we have seen a dropoff/elimination of the gold selling spam, however I think the downside of this is that it is easier to report mail spam, than it is to know that the item you buy in the TP is being sold by a hacker using bots, destroying the player driven part of the game economy.

Also, consider that these bots are the first or second generation, and currently seem to be only running around an killing everything. The possibility of having bots that harvest items is likely to come to pass, if they are not doing so already.

Harvesting tools

Sankofa Jimiyu why do you have stacks of tools, theres only a need for one on your character and a spare in your bag, you can easily go back to a merchant and buy more, theres plenty of merchants out there. If you have a problem getting rid of your tools then go to an area where they can be used and use them.

Here’s a scenario I’m sure everyone has had:
You are new in a starting area with one set of tools and a backup cause set of tools. That’s 6 slots in your inventory. You complete the map and go into a new area find your tools don’t work when you mine your first “Ruined Plant Fiber”. You find a merchant buy a set and a back up and a Bag just to hold your overflow of mining tools because you have 12 slots in your inventory just for tools. You can’t take the 6 Copper Sickles you have left over from the and combine them with the new stack of 50 to make 56.

I am currently level 50 and I just made my first gold the other day. And I am not miser. I would rather spend money on upgrading my armor, skills and weapons. Leveling up is my primary goal and I return to starter areas only when I need to pass through them (I use waypoints when defeated, and walk everywhere).

Stacking isn’t too much to ask and neither is making them account bound.

My issue with harvesting tools is both they are soulbound and the fact that I can’t stack them.
I have several stacks in my inventory of low level tools.
I can’t sell them, can’t give them to my other characters on the same account.
As my other characters level up, they are getting the same thing.
My only option now is destroying them. =(

I understand the need for gold sinks, but making tools account bound wouldn’t hurt the game economy. Either that or the option to sell partially used stacks to vendors at a reduced price.

Human female body types/human male faces

The female faces are all pretty.
There is one face that has laugh lines to make a slightly older and another that makes it seems your character hasn’t gotten much sleep with bags under the eyes.

An example is Fiona Hastings, in the Clayent Falls area. You have to help her with her Beehives when the bears attack them. You hear this old woman’s voice, but she looks like:

While other races have more variety in choices in body and face type, (not to be confused with amount we have more choices than other races) humans seem to have homogenized into a slim and fit or muscular and fit across Tyria, since NPCs seem to be within the choices we have as well.

A Mesmer of Eolan descent, same as my username.
I didn’t want to simply name her the same as my Guild Wars Mesmer, Ayanna Jimiyu, to imply she was some sort of immortal.
I went with the same last name as my original, with a different first name.
The original name’s meaning in Ayanna’s case was “Beautiful Flower Born in the Summer”
Sankofa is a symbol in the Akan language expressing that one must learn from their past. Considering the lessons I learned in the first game, the name is pretty appropriate.

why did you select norn?

I went across the board and selected one of each race and different professions.
(all female so far).
My Norn warrior, Sera der Skulhund, is my joke character that I was playing as the Dragonborn in Skyrim.
She is short for a Norn and has an even shorter temper.

I created a Sylvari Ranger in beta with the slightest build and shortest height and called her “Thwisp”. It wasn’t a lore friendly name but she looked like a wind could take her anywhere. Creativity works just as well as naming conventions in some cases.

I come across Bots with randomized names [Edit] , rather than the hacked accounts with user created names.
They plow through areas with foes trailing them. When the dust clears, players are left to wait for respawns, and they come in again. Wash, Rinse and Repeat
Sure I may get a drop and always XP, but I don’t find it fun to try to get a few hits in and scrounge from they mess they make.

I squeezed in an hour of play yesterday, reporting 6 offenders, 3 of them naked, running amok around Shiverspur Front, getting stuck in the scenery.

I am having similar problems, however, I was able to see another side of an issue.
My husband and I take turns playing. I play at night, and he gets the day shift. Last night I barely did a thing because of the verification issue. I spent the night verifying back and forth. I was worried someone had hacked my account.
I go to bed in frustration and when my spouse is ready to play, I warn him about the verification mess I had.
The fact he didn’t have to verify worries me even more. When he logs in, I ask him to check who is on in our Guild, and it shows me logged in…

I was livid.

We soon did a little research about my activity and it at least shows my last activity 7 hours prior, roughly the time I logged out. I have access to the Guild Bank, and it shows all the items I swapped out. I also had a chance to recall another Guild Member logged in twice. The doubles were unique in that the .#### was different on each login.

The whole security process is new to most people and I commend Arenanet for the measures it has taken to keep our accounts safe, but there are some bugs in it I hope get resolved soon.

most fun class for you so far??

Sankofa Jimiyu.1567

Mesmer without doubt!

Nobody plays a mesmer, not only is the class incredibly fun and tactical to play

Mesmers were my favorite back in the first Guild Wars. I made my first character a Mesmer and had no idea what to do with her. A friend had to walk me back and show me what role I played in the team and things made more sense. A Mesmer is a spoiler to all the best laid plans. In GW2 I was initially disappointed with all my spells gone, but I soon discovered how to manipulate Phantasms and Clones. Enemies destroyed by their confusion.
They are very unique class and not everyone knows how to completely ruin a mob with them. They are quite devastating when, played effectively.
