Well, they at least start out tradeable (same as some of the things in Black Lion Chests that they changed this patch). So if you want to pay ~78g (or equivalent in gems) you could always pick one up on the TP.

Well I know for a fact I’m getting 2k gems for Christmas. Which is only like 29g80s at current exchange rates. (Used the average rate per 100 gems) Currently I am pretty much broke.

ArenaNet would you please heavily consider putting this item in the Gem Store? As a musician this kind of stuff draws me but it saddens to see it made so rare and a pain to get. Being able to carry an instrument around to play with friends and group members would be a nice addition to entertain while waiting on people or having a party.

If not this then is the hope to see (an) instrument(s) added to the gem store in the future?

Feedback ability question

I was at a tower in WvW that was under siege. I tossed a feedback bubble on the gate to reflect damage. I had never done this so I did not know if it was a bug, but I nearly died from retaliation boons on some of the people that had their attacks reflected back at them. Since the reflected damage counts as damage done by me, it was giving me retaliation damage. Is this intended?

With everyone and their mother switching to grenadier for obvious damage boosts it was no surprise to me it got hit the with nerf bat. I know Anet doesn’t like it when a certain weapon or kit out preforms most of the class’ other weapon choices.

I didn’t know if there was a specific forum for this. I would like to make the right mouse click to just move the camera, not target adds and interact. I use the right mouse click to aim and keep a look out of my surroundings. Too often I target an ally when i’m just re positioning my camera in big fights. If there is a way to change this please give me the details.

I like to use the evade abilities from the Sword/Dagger setup in fights against giants, or at least try to. When the sword kick ability starts and I need do dodge the giant’s stomp, I hit one of the evades like Serpent’s Strike. The Serpent’s Strike doesn’t active till after the Pounce which by that time I’m eating the dirt from the stomp. Could there be a cast interrupt, like the one that occurs on heal, added to each of the evade abilities?

All phantasms now utterly broken.

I don’t know what everyone else’s rotation is but I use mirror blade then the iZerker so this change didn’t make a noticeable difference.

I think the boss event will reoccur occasionally and re-unlock the NPC. There was way too much work put into that event for it to be a one-time thing. I imagine that the “special loot bag” might be a one time thing though.

If they make that awful 2 hour minimum event regular I am not going back to that god forsaken island. They SHOULDN’T do that because they would have to make it easier, and making it easier would have people question why the hell the original was 2-3 hours long when it should have been an hour maximum. I would have rathered an hour long event with only the trinket and 20 slot bag. Screw the precursors and the extra loot with a 2-3 hour event.

They should just keep him up permanently. The item has a high cost and the shells are rare making only intent people want to work on it or rich people to buy the 1000 shells for roughly a silver a pop.

They should have had bracketed times, AND POST THEM, for 24 hours so groups would be able to get filled. I got into some of the latter ones and their were almost too few doing them.

Anet’s biggest problem is a lack of communication during events like this. People NEED time tables so they can schedule and please for love of god post estimated times of completion. The Ancient Karka event took way too long and it ran into IRL schedules. If you can’t give a rough estimate of when an event will be completed then you didn’t test it enough and thus it shouldn’t be put in live servers. Make a program that runs the event with the maximum amount of players before releasing it.

Compromise for Phase 3 issues.

I don’t think it is fair for Anet to expect the majority of their player base to sit through 2-3 hours worth of slow, unengaging combat. Yes, some people have found repeatable overflows but again you have to wait another 2-3 hours with a lot less back up than when it first started making it much more annoying. Limit the chest to 1 per account, NOT one per character on that account.

If anyone has any other or different suggestions please toss them in.

I disagree that ArenaNet should cater individuals like you who sat out of it. The only compensation if any should be made to players who faced REAL issues that I could understand like network disconnection at final phase/chest.

I did it in 3 different characters of mine, and received chest rewards PER character. Meaning the final event is account bound but the rewards are only character bound.

Instead of complain pew pews at devs because you didn’t find it challenging enough to participate, you should get a move on while you still can and follow the linked steps! Nothing of this nor last holiday event was guaranteed. It was optional and you had the “choice” to do it. So choose wisely if you still WILL do it before the event closes!

Guess I should have mentioned. I DID complete it but my friend wasn’t able to because of real life issues. He sat through the event all the way till the last reinforcement part then HAD to leave. HE wasted 2 and a half hours to get NOTHING. If you think that’s fair you need to rethink what is and isn’t fair.

Also, I have tried your suggested thing as have a few guildies that completely missed the event and they have yet to find an overflow with it active.

Not a valid excuse. They can and should look at other MMOs and learn from them. Even play the other MMOs and see how their things work. Granted they need to have some originality but this is like taking a test without studying. YOU SHOULD’T DO THAT.

The complaints I hear are those that spent time and money grinding the crafted exotics just to hear that all their hard work just went down the drain. Now they have to do it over again. Yes, in this patch they are only adding a couple but they have already stated that there will be more in patches to come. I don’t like the fact that they went back on their promise that exotic would be the top tier gear aside from legendary weapons and that wouldn’t change. This is why people spent time and in some cases, hard earned cash, to get the exotics and transmutes. I don’t like that this seems like a ploy for more money with the whole incident during Halloween and the absurdly low drop chance in the Black Lion Chests. I mean, after opening 100+ chests you should’ve gotten SOMETHING. I understand Anet is a company but I think it would reward them more when they don’t screw their players from time to time.

I would like a Dev post as to why they took this course of action. From what I understand, the devs made a promise early on stating that the top tier would only ever be exotic as for as non weapons go. Since I’m an altoholic I never grinded gear for one toon, but my friends have and are furious that the exotics they put money and time into from crafting, necks, rings etc., are now going to be one up’d by a new tier of gear that was not mentioned prior to launch that yet again, will require time and money. I understand that the stat difference is minor but take into consideration that there are people that care about the metagame where 1 point makes all the difference.

I just don’t want them to go back on anyother promises so GW2 doesn’t become a revamped WoW. I quit WoW for the change that I saw in GW2 and this is a step in the wrong direction in my mind.

Weapon skins: Where to get the rentals -vs- perm?

The three you found are temporaries of the craftable skins. There are purchasable ( the Black Lion Chest) skins and craftable skins. The craftable have mats that basically make them absurdly hard to craft, on the level of a mini legendary. Here are the Gifts that I presume are mats of the craftable skins:

- Gift of Souls (Staff) : 1x Gift[s] of Knowledge 250x Orichalcum Ingot[s] 20x Glob[s] of Ectoplasm 100x Crystal Lodestone[s] Artificer 400

- Gift of Spiders (Bow): 1x Gift[s] of Ascalon 250x Orichalcum Ingot[s] 20x Glob[s] of Ectoplasm 100x Destroyer Lodestone[s] Huntsman 400

- Gift of the Moon (Shield): 1x Gift[s] of Thorns 250x Orichalcum Ingot[s] 20x Glob[s] of Ectoplasm 100x Corrupted Lodestone[s] Weaponsmith 400

I do agree that there are a few bugs, both with crafting and classes (necro minions for one >.>), that Anet has known of for the last 2 weeks at least and has yet to put out a hotfix or patch to fix them. I’m more than fine with them releasing new cool content, just don’t neglect things that characters use on a daily basis.

On my server’s TP ( Gate of Madness), for the crystal lodestones for the staff one would spend a little over 150g to buy all but 2 of the lodestones currently on TP. I haven’t fooled with any of the end game mats yet but seeing as this is a costly mat and seemly scarce, I can’t see the justification of needing that many for ONE gift.

I hope the recipes for the gifts that seem to be mats for the permanent versions of the temporaries are wrong.

Some have suggested that the gifts are to be combined with the corresponding temporary to make the permanent. If this is the case, a person would need to gather the mats within the time frame of the Halloween events. This is just absurd and Anet should post to clarify this.

I would like to see at least one more ranged minion. When I encounter a fight where melee pets get killed I switch to my ranged minions. The worm is my issue, the others I have are out 24/7 but the worm needs to be placed and it is almost a wasted utility when I’m clearing trash.

Comcast is the best provider in my area (Humble, Texas). Technicians and service here is pathetic. I wish Google would get to my area because the internet plan they are giving for free (aside from initial construction cost of $300), we are paying $100 a month for (50-60mbps).

Can there be a system implemented that gave you credit if you are present for all boss and do at least 70% of damage on final boss. I have Comcast as my ISP and I wish there were more choices. The service here is crap at the worst times. I hate doing 90% of a dungeon then almost killing a boss and disconnecting just before the kill thus being a COMPLETE waste of time in Exploreable Mode. Have a system like that of the Dynamic Events where if you do your part and move on you get full credit or something of that sort.

Thief stealth

I am unsure if it is intentional that thieves do not reappear immediately after their stealth wears off. If it is then nerf them in a way to where they cannot build a build that allows them to exploit this and stay out of sight and untargetable for an entire fight. My friend had me try to fight his stealth build on my Necro and for the entire fight I could not see him and was forced to try and hit him with AoEs. All the while I was seeing the numbers from his attacks beating the crap out of me. Granted not all thieves can pull that off but the fact that it is possible needs to be changed.

Minions sitting idle in combat

I run a minion build and lately I’ve noticed that minions like my Shadow Fiend, Flesh Golem, and Bone Minions will sit idle at random points in combat. Sometimes they will just stop attacking the adds they are fighting and walk back to me. Wondering if anyone is having a similar issue.
