I was walking around black citadel when I noticed this, when I approached the laurel merchant near Diessa Gate Waypoint , half of the world started disappearing & reappearing, including my character. I’ll include a screenshot about the location . This doesn’t happen anywhere else just at this specific area
I’d sincerely like to know where this rumor originated. No endgame? Is a new story campaign, giant map (and completion), crafting, a new set of dungeons, obtaining legendary weapons, and 3 new areas of the map opening up just not enough for you?
Really, where did this originate?Theres no raid gear treadmill at max level and everyone knows that is THE endgame.
Yeah, think /sarcasm is in order.
You can do endgame without raids or gear progression, ANET already proved that …. just not with gw2
Announce GW3
/15char
Try typing their GW1 name into you friends list n GW2. If they have used the same name you may find them.
Thanks ,tried doing that but the names I know aren’t used in GW2
Edit: Never mind ,there is a match on one name, let’s hope whoever uses that account is still active

why a gamer should care bout how easy or not easy it is to make a good game?
a gamer dont make the game he buy it and he play it and when game is not fun he delete it
its that simple
Yep. A gamer shouldn’t care. Still missing my point.
I’m playing Guild Wars 2 for two years. Two years later, Guild Wars 2 is still in the top 20 in Raptr and the top ten in Overwolf. 2 years. Evidence they’ve made a good game, because if it were a bad game, we wouldn’t be in the top 20.
After all ESO and Wildstar are much newer and they’re not. Therefore the game must at least be good. Or why would people still be playing it. It may not be to everyone’s taste. That’s another story. But the odds are if it weren’t a good game, it wouldn’t be in the top 20.
Now it could be a better game, true. So can every game.
this list is not top 20 games – its a top 20 played by raptr comunity (they even write this in the post – just scroll down a bit)
its same with overwolf – most games dont have a use for this and so its normal that games which have a strong supourt for this are high (and yes the api and how wvw works strongly supourts overwolf)there are other sites out where you can get a feel whats played by ALL GAMERS and are not so biased
just go twitch and check the streams by streams/viewers and you get a feel what GAMERS play or care about
http://www.twitch.tv/directory
and scroll down – and for me this looks much more acuratbut anway – move on
Overwolf’s support of Guild Wars 2 is rather new, but it’s been high on the Overwolf rankings for a long time.
I know it’s really hard to admit that a game you don’t like is doing well. But Guild Wars 2 is doing well. Not only from lists, but from financial reports. It’s meeting expectations, or we’d hear about it from stock companies.
But, but Vayne! Didn’t you read that one thread that looked at NCSofts Financials that claimed 100million in a year was a sign the game was dying!? =O It’s Dying Vayne and there is nothing we can do about it.
We must hang up our White Knight Cloaks and Mourn the loss =(.
LMAO! People have been saying the game is dying from the first November. Five years from now, people will still be saying it. It’s always the same on every MMO forum. If you don’t like the game it’s dying. If you like the game it’s doing well.
The truth is usually somewhere in the middle.
I like the game ,but I admit it , I do believe it is dying. You thinking it’s not is the same thing, it may be true, it may be not, it won’t be proved. Probably you had a different experience than me in the last years. I started with my GW1 guild , died out months after release, but our numbers were pretty big. I’ve been in a few guilds since, lot of similar experience. Even in my new OccupySAB guild you can already see numerous people who didn’t log up since the incident. Also this is intresting to read :
On your previous comments on believing on something big is coming pretty soon…. I was like you last year, I still have some little hope left, but probably I’m gonna leave too as soon as they announce season three. My only hope is that before LS2 started we heard there are writers who didn’t work on it. But this, “doesn’t fit into the living story so we won’t add” and “living world is our top priority right now” doesn’t really keeps my hope up.
First I have to say: my first "MMO"ish game was GW1, I’ve spent a lot of time in that game from almost release til the release of GW2. I’ve made a lot of friends during that time , but I lost contact with some of them… no need to say they are now inactive in GW1, so I can’t reach them there.
If I type their name to the Hall of monuments calculator ,I can see their accounts has been linked ,but there is no way I can find what name are they using in GW2. Or is there and am I missing something? If not, is it possible to add something to the HoM calculator to display the “display name” of the Guild wars 2 account they are using?
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
I’m here to show my love for cantha as well since I didn’t post in this thread yet. Cantha was my favourite campaign in GW1 …. I’ve seen some signs in the past months that may indicate cantha is approaching: Festival decorations, Katana, Ninja costume , Dragon finisher , Mini mystical dragon (Possible CE reward?) , cantha themed statues from data…
Well I can only hope , even if I stop playing GW2 I’ll return as soon as cantha is released. Til then I can’t wait.
If they have been ignoring players since the game started why do people keep debating and even giving ideas or suggestions to ANET?
Isnt it clear by now they wont ever listen to people? , iv been playing since the game started and i havent see a single thing changed because of players suggestions . They keep saying they listen .. and blablabla but the fact is they just keep ignoring it .
They do listen on minor things , for example they made the dredge fractal better, true only after who knows how long , they made living story permanent after the “one I shall not name” arc etc. It’s also true they often implement things the wrong way, but you can’t say they didn’t listen, see Commander tag prices ,Trait changes etc.
Also if I remember correctly, during the second halloween you got Trick or Treat bags for winning tournaments instead of reward chests. PvP forum wasn’t pretty back then.
All in all I think we can say the first halloween was better compared to second one.
I missed the 2nd Halloween. What kind of stuff was different between the original and this one? Are we getting weapons from the first go-around? (Chain greatsword, Grinning shield, etc)?
Thanks for any info
Answering your question: there were two types of weapons during the first halloween, the ones you mention were available from black lion chests as a random drop. There were the other three: The crossing, Arachnophobia and The Mad Moon, these can be crafted, kinda expensive but they were also dropping from PvP chests and the halloween dungeon. None of these were available last year, but I expect the black lion ones to return ala gemstore/Black lion ticket.
Also the changes between the first and second halloween:
Dungeon: Ascent to Madness didn’t open
Reaper’s Bundle, the MOBA style activity didn’t open
Mad Memories Scavanger hunt removed
Open World Meta events – removed
Some change to the labyrinth
Mad king’s clocktower improvements
Few new story instance
I assume they won’t add it in with no work done on it, but the differences between the two Halloweens we’ve had so far is pretty broad.
Even stuff in the Labyrithe wasn’t identical between the two years. Same with Wintersdays. Infinarium changes, the jumping puzzle change. Hell even the Halloween jumping puzzle changed by making is so that you couldn’t be blocked by norn or charr jumping with you. People tend to forget these changes, but they make a huge difference in game play.
Rewards also changed from one year to the next. The mad king’s son thing was very different than the minidungeon from the first year. That was a major change too.
I think people if they actually counted individual changes would find that events are changing. Even the two new events added to the Four Winds event, and the new crystals and the addition of Master crystals was change. Conversations with people changed. Hints about what was to come abounded there. Rewards changed.
There have been changes to every single event so far. People just want to ignore them, because they’re not big huge instances, which isn’t really reasonable to expect.
To be fair, these were adjustments based on complains from the year before and not addition.
In general most of these things felt like substractions, since parts were just cut out, without any explanation.
People questioned that greatly last year, as the Bloody Prince was bloody disapointing, since his involvement was not that compelling like the Mad King and in general the halloween felt inferior for some (i will never say all)Being disappointed with something new isn’t the same thing as not getting something new. I was very disappointed with Winds of Change in Guild Wars 1, but I acknowledge it was new.
The amount of work it took to put in that new stuff is probably as much or more than the stuff that was added to Guild Wars 1 Halloween.
How about being disappointed with something because it’s less than last year?
It’s funny. People wanted this game to be more like Guild Wars 1 and in Guild Wars 1, holiday festivals were almost exactly the same for a year at a time.
I guess people want it to be like Guild Wars 1 only when it proves their point.
It’s not reasonable to expect tons of new stuff every halloween, and for a two week period not worth working on it that much with everything esle going on, if they have to redo half of it every year.
That’s a bad time investment.
No, I’m not. Let’s compare the first Halloween of GW1 and GW2, shall we?
At the first halloween of GW1 there was only Tyria , but at the second they added Kamadan as well. On the third halloween we got a PvP mode: Costume Brawl.
Now let’s take a look on GW2’s halloween what has been added : a few soloable story instance. What has been removed :
-Dungeon: Ascent to Madness
- Reaper’s Rumble (MOBA Style pvp)
-Backpack scavanger hunt
- Pumpkin Carvin
- Removed the achievement points for completing Mad King’s clocktower
-I’m not sure, but I think the four Meta events in the open world, which lead to the opening of the haunted doors also got removed.
What I’m expecting this year: redecorated LA since it’s kinda destroyed ATM and new gemstore items, if you except those you can’t be disappoint.
In short: Yes, we didn’t get much in GW1 from year to year, but we always got something significant like Costume brawl, new quests or the underworld challange, and I can’t say an example of something got removed.
Also, this is my personal opinion, but I liked the finale better in 1, they had much better yearly festival masks and in GW2 we have much less emote, which makes it kinda boring.
I don’t trust Anet on their words. They already said that the NA version won’t be like the Chinese version. Now, the game is level gated like the Chinese version. Flip Flop, Flip Flop.
Repeating the same falsehood doesn’t make it true. Can you show me where Anet said this?
To my knowledge Anet has only ever said we won’t have the VIP here, nothing at all about the rest of the client. Three people have said it, and no one has been able to provide the quote. Can you?
Where exactly did they said that? I only could find this:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/VIP-Membership/page/5#post3474276
They said “This particular experiment is not being tested for the West.”. Keep in mind, these new leveling restrictions wasn’t tested for the West either, still, we got them.
Since I can’t play the game the first time again, I can’t really provide useful feedback on this topic, but this NPE (New player experience?) didn’t get too much positive feedback from alt creators, and for this I think this should be an one time thing.
On one hand , I understand arenanet why they implemented this: I think they are expecting an influx of new players (free trial if I have to guess), and since in 2 years probably everyone bought the game who wanted to buy it, now they want to bring in those type of people who never played an MMO before, since they found it “overwhelming” ,but with this they made not appriciated changes for those who likes creating alts.
My proposal: Make this NPE an one time thing: Once you created your first character ,got it to lvl 80 (or unlocked everything that comes with this NPE) the next time this player creates a character don’t include these changes, since the system won’t be nearly as overwhelming as it was the first time, or you could make it optional.
These blasted threads. Every time I see a variant on “why I left GW2?” I mentally answer "quite frankly my dear I don’t give a kitten "
I can see why you think that, but they keep popping up more and more. That’s a serious indication this game is losing a lot of players. People that actually care enough about the game and go to the forums to post things. Now they even care enough that they are posting that they are leaving.
It isn’t good advertising for new players either. Usually, when I’m going to play a new MMO, I first check a couple of things, including their forums. If you look in here, those potentional new players see alot of players complaining(whether the complaints are well argumented or just QQ doens’t matter in this case), and they see lots of players leaving. That’s bad publicity for this game. It’s not like no new player will come, but I’m almost certain a couple of players who wheren’t convinced to buy and play this game or not, didn’t do it after all because of what they saw on the forums. So indeed, it’s easy to say I don’t give a kitten, I don’t think alot of us do(you could put it in another way though:p), but it’s something that really needs to be taken seriously.
At least, in my opinion that is…..
You mean like three a week? It was just as bad a couple of years ago. That’s not more and more. I’ve had more people who left come back to the game in the last week than there have been leaving posts on these forums and that’s just one little guild.
My guild had 167 members, only 21 are left. 8 came back and now 7 are gone. Out of those 28 now, 13 started playing AA and have gone inactive in GW2. Quite the opposite to you. And honestly, I don’t think even a major update of the expansion-pack size would bring even 20 people back. It’s a missed opportunity, I think. But who knows, if GW3 comes out, we will all be back again! ( I hope! )
I THINK, that if gw3 folows some gw1 rules instead of 2, a lot more people would come back yes. At least, thats what everyone around me says. If gw3 is going to be a polished gw2 with the same ‘business plan’ etc., they wont return.
In your own words…okay. Doesn’t change the fact that this is not nearly the worst exodus we’ve seen from the game.
People have been leaving all along. People have been joining all along. People have been coming back all along.
I understand that you think this is some massive exodus that is somehow going to rob this game of every living body. I understand that’s your opinion.
But what you’re actually doing is venturing an opinion about something factual. I can have an opinion about how many people live in NYC, except there’s a factual number of people living in NYC and my opinion is largely irrelevant. Why? Because how many people are leaving isn’t really a matter of opinion.
I like the game is an opinion. I don’t like this game is an opinion. People are leaving in droves or a lot of people leaving is you venturing an opinion about a fact. I suggest there’s a subtle difference.
At any rate, you’re certainly entitled to your opinion.
I love this. “You have your right to have an opinion ,but my opinions are facts.”

To the OP: I didn’t read every post , just the first few but I think there is a 3rd group: people who want progression. I think this could be the easiest solution since this doesn’t require adding new content to the game (I want new challenging content too,but lets put that aside now for a minute). This game is full of underused content without proper rewards or sense of progression. Easiest example is the open world: full of dynamic events ,hidden areas etc and after I visited these once I didn’t really want to go back, why would I.
I think existing content should be more appealing and meanwhile we could add some difficulty to it like : shake up some existing dynamic events with an increasing difficulty curve: What I mean is for example “Defend Beetletun from centaurs” event: every time you defeat a wave, the next wave will be stronger but the reward will be also greater and this could go on until they win, which resets the difficulty.
Back to progression: what I think the game is missing is this. After lvl 80 you quickly get your exotic armor (which is perfectly fine) and then the skin hunt begins, but after that not much is in the game. The only thing is which gives you some progression is the achievement system and WvW/PvP ranks. Other than these the game doesn’t really reward you for your time in game, but PvP rank isn’t visible anywhere anymore, and your WvW rank is only visible to your enemies who doesn’t even know your name. I think this game needs more stuff like it was in the GW:EN , like HoM (Player housing/ I never wanted to build a house ,just a place where I can visit my ingame accomplishments) or the reputation system, or something like these.
Those that haven’t played it will be blown away by the numerous builds GW1 has.
Get this…you can put any skills you want on the skill bar, your weapon doesn’t determine it.Yeah…you read that right.
They’ll also be blown away by the amount of redundant skills.
FLEES
I doubt it, they got used to it here in gw2.
I’d be happy with this game if I knew what can I except in the future. If it’s only Living story and feature packs that’s fine , I wouldn’t like it ,but I want to know it. We been hearing a few times there is an expansion worth of content in the works , and they don’t know yet how they want to deliver it, but on the other hand back at the start of Living world they said Flame and Frost will have “an expansion worth of content” , so maybe they already delivered the “expansion” and we don’t even know it.
As for the topic: I really love the world, I really want to see cantha/elona & rest of tyria , but I’m unhappy with the past 2 year. It just taking too slow to get anywhere in the world with living story. You can say I’m unhappy with the current state of the game.
Why I was intrested in the mursaat: mostly because I played more GW1 than 2 and I expected GW2 to be GW1’s sequel. Since asking for palawa or kurzicks/luxons would probably require an expansion then white mantle it is. 1,5 year ago when I first heard about living story, and we had as much white mantle/mursaat as we have now I thought that’s gonna happen. They already had estabilished lore, mysteries like what happened in the last 200 year and a lot of players had personal connections to them.
Well, as we know today living story instead of exploreing old lore, it created a lot of questionable new one.
Personally I think the world is too big for a project like Living World. Two years has passed in game too, and I don’t feel like the world changed that much. Sure, the Scarlet line left some perma changes in the world , but noone but scarlet did anything in the past two year (Or mordremorth for that matter)? In the living story the life around tyria just stops? With my human I saved my sister long time before I killed Zhaitan yet I didn’t even talk with her it the past two years . And I feel bad.
Back to the mursaat: personally I dont want them to return with the living story. It was fine when the lore was human-centric ,but now I couldn’t imagine charrs or norns dealing with white mantle problem, and if they can’t , we can’t either. Even if they would return somehow, I wouldn’t want Taimi and the other 4 around. With 5 playable races it feels impossible to create new things that affect only one of them, but I think lore wise these kind of things would be the most intresting. This is why people say(I think) the personal story was the best around 1-30.Anyway, I think tyria isn’t the best place for living story, It should be somewhere where all races are equal .
I’m here to join the voice:
Last time I purchased gem with RL money was back in september to buy an infinite coin, not because I needed it,but because I wanted to show my support for the devs who made SAB . ( In the end it was cool to have because of tribulation mode, that was the last time me and my buddies had so much fun we laughed our bottom off.) And now I hear they are gonna stop making SAB because of living story? Like people didn’t hate LS alrdy….
and a Fun Fact: SAB had more exclusive skin than WvW or PvP got in the last 2 year.
(and had the most new weapon skins added to the game in one place except gem store ofc.) Correct me if I’m wrong.
checks body for the sword
kitten ..
Evon probably got there first
Living story reminds me about GW:Beyond, gives me the impression they are working on GW3 and they are just trying to keep us busy.
I don’t understand why some people are so hostile. I mean, sure, it’s just a game for some people but for me (and likely for OP) this is(was) THE game. Or at least GW1 was. It’s hard to say goodbye to a game you played for the last 5-10 year. It’s not the same and it never will be, and it is hard to accept that. I never could connect to any other game world than tyria, and yet nowadays I feel like we are getting nowhere. Perhaps my day for leaving the game is approaching too, but I still have some hope for the future, but when that day comes I won’t need to write everything down, because OP just did it way better than I could and for that I’m thankful. I can only hope you will find what you’re looking for elsewhere, perhaps here in the future.
Since the WvW season started, I’ve noticed there are some achievements in the edge of the mists. I didn’t play much there before, but this week in the last few days every time I tried to play some, the green servers were almost always dominating often with 75% or more of the map. I think it’s because green servers have more people in general. I mean look at SFR (I’m from EU). Probably they gonna win this season (not this topic) , winning every match and this means they will be green during the whole season, providing the green side the most powerful server. On the other hand Underworld doesn’t have too many WvWers, therefore they usually lose every time -> they will be always red (Not too great if you want 100% world exploration either). Now if you mix up every green server vs every red & blue server it is very likely green is gonna win most of the time (and they even get some supply to their borderlands too….)
I think it would be great if the colour of the server wasn’t based on their place on the ladder, it should be random .
Please please please no more SAB. We need permanent content and we’ve already had SAB twice.
I don’t think the time for permanent content is on april 1st.
Anyone mentioned him yet?
How could she know about a threat to the ships counsil while until the probe in old LA became green noone in the world knew, that an attack will hit LA?
I was talking about the events of last summer (Dragon Bash ,when they succesfully assassinated Theo Ashford), not about the attack on Lion’s Arch.
My theory is based on Mai being a double agent , who was trying to leak information to us. She knew what was about to happen during Dragon Bash because Scarlet sent her to do it, but that doesn’t make it her plan. If I recall correctly in the final story instance of Dragon Bash Mai even revealed the whole assassination’s purpose was to free up a space in the captain’s counsil (not many “Why?” has been answered during LS…) And E… E sent us the mail after the first instance that Theo Ashford didn’t make it.(After we escorted him with the dolyak) Mai was disguised as a healer at this time, I think it’s safe to say she was one of the first to know that.
Faren has no reason to hide either his identity or any information regarding scarlet, especially if he is a member of the order (His identity maybe). IF he is really a member and his purpose was to collect information about the person behind F&F , (it doesn’t make sense for me really) how did he know about the assassination during Dragon Bash and why did he tried to prevent it by sending the players not the order?
And during the Jubilee he wasn’t well informed either: He tried to save a mesmer clone almost dyeing in the process.
Think about Mai: Kasmeer pointed out we don’t know if E is a male or even if he is a single person. We heard from E twice: first during Dragon bash, then during Christmas when the probes appeared worldwide. (We heard from him through Marjory , he said there’s a war at our doorstep or something like that.) Between these two events Mai was in prison and E hasn’t made contact. In her cage the only thing she said was “Keep your eyes on the sky” ( refering to the floating giant drill I think) . Not long after the probes appeared Mai was freed by a group of Aetherblade and they escaped to the Edge of the Mists. She didn’t fight by Scarlet’s side during the battle for LA, and we didn’t see her ever since. Probably she knew what is about to happen.
E’s identity is the biggest mystery (in the LS at least) for me and I spent much time thinking about who could he be. Well… I feel silly now. The first we heard from him I thought he was a member of the whispers for sure, but that’s highly unlikely. Sure, he knows a lot of things we don’t know like the order, but he didn’t interfere with scarlet when he know what she was about to do and he didn’t shared the information with the rest of the order.
Next, I looked at the characters whose name started with E, like Ellen, Evon. For a long time I thought it was Evennia (you know she’s been missing for 250 years now who knows what happened to her…. probably we won’t….) Anyway Ellen would mindlessly spead the information to stop scarlet’s plan and Evon… well he wouldn’t care if people dies if he gets enough profit… I don’t think he tried to warn us to save Ashford, he was even happy he could run for his place.
After going through every character from the living story … Canach, Rox& Braham, Marjory (Schizophrenia?) ,Kasmeer, Faren… even job-o-tron…. and find every one of them highly unlikely.
So.. I started asking questions… 1,How does E know more about Scarlet than anyone? 2,Why doesn’t he interfere with her plans? 3, Why he hasn’t contacted us more? And then it hit me…. There is one person who fits E’s suit. but first, the answers to these questions:
1, No one knew anything about scarlet until she appeared at the Jubilee , yet E has contacted us before that, during the Dragon Bash to warn us about the danger to the ship’s council. Quote: “I implore you to attend the Dragon Bash ceremony in Lion’s Arch. I’ve heard whispers about a threat to the Ship’s Council and, if left unchecked, to the city itself. I’d intervene myself, but circumstances prevent it.” He knew what is about to happen, yet he sends us . Why? And this is the 2. question.
2, “circumstances prevent it.” so I can’t help you out or tell my identity. Strange… Two reasons I can imagine: 1, He doesn’t have the power to stop what is about to happen, but if this is the case, why is his identity a Secret? Why doesn’t he tell us more? (oops this is the 3rd question… soon) 2, If he stops and saves Ashford, he won’t have the source of information anymore which could be the cause of Scarlet’s downfall. (At this point I think E realised how big threat scarlet is and it’s the highest priority to stop her once and for all.). So, he didn’t save Theo yet he never contacted us ever since.
3, why? What could prevent him from contacting us ? Easy.
She was in prison.
I see… Thank you. It’s still a great game , my friend just said he’s gonna give it a try, I think I will accompany him through the story, (but I’m a little afraid nostalgia will take over me.)
I can only hope they will change their mind about it… anyway I know what I’m gonna wish next time I see a shooting star.
I’m sorry to post this here , but I couldn’t find any official GW1 forum… so I decided to log back into Guild Wars 1 and …well… a lot of memories came up. A lot of good memories…. since I completed everything in normal/hard mode I went to the scrying pool to replay some cinematics and man… I’ve even shred a tear. I loved the relationship between Gwen & Pyre so I rewatched the entire Ebon Vanguard storyline and I’ve even got some cold shivers while watching it. Oh I miss this game so bad… I just had to write this down. I’m not going to compare the two games ( many did it already and I don’t think it’s fair to compare the two games )
Anyway the question is, is it confirmed that GW1 won’t get new updates no matter what? I think it would be much easier to create content for GW1 than for GW2, and I think there would be much interest. For example GW:Beyond in elona is still missing, and if I remember correctly it was confirmed that we will be able to put Keiran in to the Hall of Monuments. Sadly, probably I already know the answer…. I’m just hoping there is something we can do to change the answer to this question.
I think nowadays the biggest problem in guild wars 2 that there is no motivation in doing specific contents such as dynamic events , long dungeons or story mode dungeons and WvW. Now this system might be a solution: add a “Adoration” level for each specific area like WvW , dungeon and open world , and based on your level you get rewarded at the end of each month . There could be a chest in your home instance you can open and talk with some NPC to see how helpful were you this month.
(or a chest above minimap)
Now the important part is: the only way to raise your “adoration level” is by completing things you didn’t do this month, or get less and less adoration each time you complete the same dungeon or dynamic event. The amount of adoration you get should be based on the difficulty of the content, for example : you should get lets say 10 adoration points for completing the catch the rabbits dynamic event near Shaemoor, and 50 for killing the fire shaman in Iron Marches. Same goes for dungeons.
Rewards (very tricky question) : every area should get some gold, depending on their level , some area specific item (Badges, Dungeon tokens, karma) , and a temporary buff which is only active on the area you earned it. What I mean for example:
Hero in need (Buff): incrases your Magic find and Karma gain in the open world (Based on your last month’s adoration level)
Dungeon Raider (Buff) : increases your Magic Find in dungeons and you can buy x% off from dungeon token vendors. (Based on your last month’s adoration level)
Realm Defender (Buff): increases your Magic Find in WvW . (Based on your last month’s adoration level)
Additionally there could be a major buff in adoration gain and this way you could get higher level each month you are playing.
Sorry for bad english.
Sorry if someone already posted this, but I couldn’t find this posted anywhere. After I finished the living story instance Scarlet’s Funhouse , I started running around the arena, and suddenly a bonus objective popped up at the top right corner.
“Avoid any fights in the centaur spoke.”
I think its a bug, because I already finished the instance when it became available… still its great to have things like this in instances (could be cool in personal story too) , it reminds me of GW1 bonus mission objectives.
They may add permanent finishers… but I think its only for PvP/WvW (for killing players) , so in PvE your /rank is your current rank only.
Every week my guild is doing guild bounty every tuesday and saturday, but in the last two week we failed tuesday because of bugs. (Saturday is just for those who missed tuesday and want commendations, so we can’t really complete these ones.) One Week ago we got Bookworm Bwikki as a target, and everything went perfectly (One of our member was on him), until we wanted to start the fight. We couldn’t start it. (Other guilds were there too, they couldn’t start it either.) A few minutes later someone showed up and started the bounty, and we managed to kill it in time, but still the bounty failed , and noone got commendation for it. We didn’t really care, because we knew it was not our fault that we failed, and we can do it next time. Well… nope . Today we got Tricksy Trekksa , and we had to search for her for a few minutes. We found her finally, with 6 minutes left. Right after we started the event, half of my guild died. Tricksy Trekksa was leveled up to lvl 80 in blazeridge …. we failed again because of a bug . Now we dont have enough merits to unlock Guild Treks… and we’ll have a hard time when we have to collect merits for guild rush.
I know it sounds impossible, but is there any way to give the merits to the guilds what they couldn’t get because of bugs?

I just want to say I support the idea, I would gladly play this all year
Maybe activities are not Anet’s strong suit, but that’s not for me to tell. I really enjoyed all of them so far, and I think a lot of other people too, for example remember how many players did you see in the Lunatic Inquisition during halloween, even if it didn’t have unique rewards. Their number would only grow, if they add some cosmetic rewards that say: “Yes, I love that minigame and I’m good at it.”
The other thing activities aren’t parallel with the core game, they are part of the game, games withing the game if you prefer, like jumping puzzles or crafting: you are not forced to do it, but it improves the game’s feeling.
Nice post, I found these too, except “Circus Charricus” , because I dont really like the Black Citadel :P , but this sounds exciting, hope they will add it sometime. Reminds me of the rollerbeetle racing in GW1, it was fun too.
Probably we’ll get some temporary (or hopefully not temporary) activities during wintersday , like snowball fighting ….. but after I red the wintersday description about Toymaker Tixx something caught my eye: “he’ll visit every major city in Tyria to deliver Wintersday toys and holiday cheer.” I started wondering why…. this could be a great opportunity to open some activities with an one-time only event. This could solve the ghost-town(except LA) problem.
Well… all we can do is let them know we miss these things, and hope
I’m talking about the minigames now, like archery, polymock, bar fight. We heard about activities years ago, that there will be 4-5 each major city and you can get small rewards, like your opponent’s tooth (in bar fight).I even remember the funny comics about it.
The only activity we have now is Keg Brawl, but it gets boring after some time, and it doesn’t really reward you (except achievements). And there was the two Halloween activity, Lunatic Inquisiton & Reaper’s Bundle. I really enjoyed both, but now I have to wait 1 year to play again… it makes me sad. I really hoped that activites like these will be available all year.
I see soo much opportunity in activities, like collectable polymock figures, monthly high score , like challanges had in Guild Wars 1. And there could be an activity for everyone, for those who doesn’t like shooting gallery, they can smash someone’s face in a bar, or fight in an arena or something. But it is also important to reward these activities, it doesn’t have to be big reward… for example Shooting gallery’s bow’s skin, or keg tonic , or anything that is related to the activity itself.
Activities are really important to me, and it saddens me that Keg Brawl is the only one I can play after 3 month…. (And keg brawl isn’t even my style) I just hope there will be more in the (sooner the better) future.
