Ohh, so everyone else should be forced to adapt to your preferences, because you think swiftness is underwhelming for your playstyle, eventhough many other elementalists disagree?

If you want combat buffs so badly, use fire fields.

Fire field + blast = combat (might)
Water field + blast = healing (AoE heal)
Ice field + blast = defense (frost armor)
Lightning field + blast = support (AoE swiftness)

Seeing as the staff is our weapon of versatility, I don’t really see any problem here.

AoE Swiftness is quite important in WvW, and Elementalists can stack a lot of it due to (AFAIK) being the only ones with a lightning field.

Also, Lightning Field + Tornado = vulnerability bolts. Again, an excellent combo in WvW against buffed NPC lords.

To be honest, there are only four top servers in the EU brackets.

Arborstone, Vizunah Square, Desolation and Elona Reach all have 1900+ ratings.

The closest followups, Far Shiverpeaks and Blacktide both have 1750ish ratings.

Though we are slowly climbing up the ladder.

Temperature Drop:

Reduces fall damage by 50%, create Frozen Ground where you fall. (cooldown yada yada)

Which guild transfered over? Or do they choose to remain anonymous for the time being.

The reason people like PvP is because you can never really be certain what is going to happen next in a PvP setting. It’s always dynamic and changing.

In PvE, once you’ve done a dungeon, that’s it. The only thing that’s going to be different about it from then on is the loot.

Well if it’s true that FSP guilds are moving to Desolation, then Desolation is going to become one scary WvW beast.

Our main gripe with siege is that we can’t sit on a catapult and launch ourselves at the enemy.

I believe it’s organized like that so we can spread our forces out for maximum timezone coverage.

Unfortunately that means we don’t have as strong coverage during the EU ‘primetime’, but that’s something we’re still working on. We’re hoping to recruit a couple more European WvW guilds so we can have a stronger primetime, and an American WvW guild or two to cover the EU nights.

Until then I think our goal is to stay in Tier 2 as much as possible. I think Elona’s Reach are going to place no. 1 in this matchup, but we should be able to reach 2nd place.

If only that matchup ‘live’ score site wasn’t down. It made theorycrafting potential endweek ratings so much easier. I think our timezone coverage trump card will come into play more during the midweek, as the other servers are forced to give away control and focus on primetime.

Increase projectile speed for staff autoattacks.

Something’s wrong when an enemy can avoid my basic attacks by casually strafing sideways.

I think any talk of a server alliance is just people seeing what they want to see.

I don’t really like your commentary. I can see what is going on, I don’t need a stuttery play by play.

If you’re commentating, focus on things that either went well, or things that went wrong and what you could’ve done to avoid it.

If yesterday was any indication as to the kind of fights we can expect from this matchup, this is going to be an awesome week.

I believe it’s common knowledge that the Russians on Blacktide and Far Shiverpeaks don’t really get along.

I think Thieves need to drop better loot for the effort it takes to kill them.

I don’t care much for those overviews. People tend to submit reports when they’re ahead, but in the end all that matters is the score during the tick carryover ever 15 minutes.

In the hours that I’ve been playing, Blacktide was ahead when it mattered. We coordinated to ensure that were in the lead during the carryover, and most of the time we were.

I’m not saying that SFR never was ahead, or that they played poorly. Just that some SFR players tend to exxagerate and throw around words like ‘dominate’ a lot.

Hot kitten looks like we’ll be facing Elona Reach for sure. There’s not even 3.000 rating left between them and Desolation.

Next matchup looks to be pretty tough.

One would say that at least during primetime (there’s that word again), a lower population WvW focused server would have an advantage over a higher population one, since regardless of server status everyone can still only fit in 600 players (150 per map).

This would mean that a lower population server would have an easier chance getting their organized groups and guilds together, compared to high population servers who see their spots taken by pug players and randoms.

During offhours, high population servers would have the advantage, for obvious reasons.

B;acktide are funny. They seem terribly impressed with themselves that they can stay with 20 points of a server with half their population primetime – despite losing nearly every fight.

Going to be very funny over the next couple of weeks – they will get demolished and be a third place next week so we’ll see you on the way down ;p

I really liked fighting you guys and even though we caught some Xaoc guys glitching i will not hold it against you as nothing came of it and I know there will allways be some rotten fruit somewhere.

The Seafarer has become medium server, because of the amount of hatred being spoiled toward username ChocoboLIVE, those people can be easily cleaned and hence their leaving. And now they seems to live in BlackTide to continue trashtalk.

God, I’ll be glad when this matchup is done and over with.

It’s even more strange when you realize that Seafarers’ is actually the server holding all these objectives throughout the night. Their night.

It seems like the orther servers are reaching that time of the week where they realize they’ll never catch up, so they rest up and start looking forward to next week’s matchup.

If everyone is a commander, then noone is.

Seeing Desolation rocket up the ratings I wouldn’t at all be suprised if they managed to actually reach tier1 for the next matchup.

In that case, our next matchup in Tier 2 would become:
- Elona Reach (DE)
- Far Shiverpeaks
- Blacktide

I think our main goal for that week should be to get a strong foothold in tier 2 while we work to get full time coverage.

Enemy numbers always get inflated on the forums. We still have a giggle in teamspeak about our supposed ten choppa warbands hiding behind the trees.

BT isn’t full during US hours. They shouldn’t have any issues moving here.

We focus mostly on the borderlands, as that’s where the Orbs are. Dunno who’s in charge of EB, and to be honest I don’t really care. You guys talk the talk, but when it’s time for action it’s all anecdotes and excuses.

By 5am the Pvgates russians on blacktide will wake up andgo fight soem gates on an empty server, so when we all get home from work theyll have had 10-12 hours of 450+ points and no opposition.

We’ll then spend 4-5 hours kicking blacktides butt all over the map.

Nah man. Maybe you’re talking about a different timezone, but at 11 pm CET, Blacktide was still in the lead with around 300 points per tick.

We’ve been running around SFR borderlands, waiting for your ‘primetime’ to start, and nothing happened. Either you all took a day off, or your ‘primetime’ starts when the other servers log out.

Spoiler: It’s a trick question. No sane person solos in WvW.

As for the waypoint, consider that those waypoints are made inside a defended keep, while a tent would be out in the open and an easy target.

Another picture of how the Blacktide Night/morning train can turn the www map blue. We did have a good fight last night and like always Seafarer’s did end up on the top.

You can’t win only by nighcapping, you need to be able to hold stuff as well.

From what I heard, the Blacktide guilds didn’t really care about Seafarer’s Rest, because they were behind by a lot of total points. They’re mostly focusing on Riverside.

Here’s a little something I’ve just been brainstorming about:

What if people were able to construct siege tents in WvW?

A tent would serve pretty much as a WvW structure, but it could be placed anywhere in a WvW zone (as long as it isn’t inside or very close to another (friendly) WvW structure).

Tents would be small, siege like objects that need 100 supply to be built, and when completed it would bear the flag of the guild that originally placed that tent.

By itself, a tent would do nothing. However, when ‘controlling’ the tent via (F), a person would be able to choose from a set of upgrades to transform a tent into one of several types (possibly only the person who placed the tent would be able to do this, to counter griefing).

Possible upgrades would be (some more overpowered than others, read/interpret these ideas with an open mind):

1. Medical Tent – Grants increased healing power and constant regeneration to everyone in its radius
2. Reinforcement Tent – Allows allies to spawn on the tent as if it were a waypoint. Spawning there would cost a slight amount of money.
3. Tactical Planning Tent – Grants a bonus to all stats to everyone in its radius.
4. Supply Tent – Slowly generates supplies that allies can pick up

Etc etc.

Feel free to add your own ideas as well if you want.

Possibly Tents would be a guild upgrade only structure, and you would require a certain level of the Guild Architecture upgrade to be able to construct tents.

The current tier2 matchup for next week seems to be:
- Desolation
- Far Shiverpeaks
- Blacktide

Of these servers, we’ve already fought Desolation. They’ve got a powerful evening/nightforce. Maybe we can beat them this time around, since last week our guilds hadn’t transfered completely yet.

I don’t really know anything about Far Shiverpeaks. I heard they also had a fair amount of timezone coverage, so we’ll see what they can do.

It seems Seafarer’s and Riverside will stay in this tier next week, and you’ll get to fight against Kodash. Kodash and Blacktide will be switching places, so to speak.

Some kind of bug when a thread has 49 posts. It’s supposed to make a new page at 49, but it only makes one at 50, so at 49 posts a thread becomes unreadable until someone makes a 50th post. Probably goes for page 2>3 etc. as well.

And if US guilds are considering moving, I’d say just give it a try for a couple of days. That’s what we did. Free 24H transfers are still here, so you’re not really taking any risks.
