We don’t usually run from fights, if we do it’s to disengage and defend an objective. I know defending is still a new concept for some of the lower tiers so I won’t hold it against you for not knowing.

Every TC match-up also involves another T1 whom we reserve as a higher priority. The disengagements TC encountered were not due to us fleeing in fear but rather relocating to a more important objective. However, we did have a few battle engagements with TC and it went like this…..

I’ve never ever been on a squad where we “run from, shut up and start dying” in the hands of TC. In the recent past I’ve seen good fights between PLX and EP, KnT and KH – two of the guilds I respected in TC. Sadly, they have moved on to other servers.
But usually when we are against TC, we are also against another T1 and they are our priority, not so much you guys.

You guys had a 22k lead a day after reset while boasting and bullying a temporarily demoralized BG on this thread.
We did not point our fingers and pass the blame to anyone else. We responded by admitting to having a bad start. No crying, no scapegoats, no excuses. We pulled ourselves together and closed the gap within a day.
We had a guild transfer to our server recently due to improved Q times over EU. You guys immediately plaster a fake self-righteous image on how your server is too good for non permanent transfers. More than anything, it makes SoR seem kinda needy and controlling or just plain snobbish and unwelcoming.
Just please get off your high horse and enjoy the game.

Chin up. SoR is a strong WvW server and I know Blackgate will never underestimate them or rest easy unless it’s clear that a lead is insurmountable. Morale and momentum plays a huge part in this game mode, and there are always peaks and valleys, which are amplified by morale/interest swings in a server’s more popular and effective commanders. This can turn on a dime and often when you least expect it.
The first 7-8 pages of this thread you get to experience SoRs flaunting and parading. I didn’t have much time to comment then coz I was busy dropping water bombs for allies in EB.
Anyhow, thanks for keeping it classy.
Last round, BG was the least stacked. Now I still think we are after learning about SUPRs transfer. Most ppl will never realize the level of commitment the core community has. The commanders last round were up crazy hours. Although we only get a small piece of the inbound guild transfer pie, those that make BG their home often share the same passion we have.
Hi, I manage websites with both static HTML and web-based applications. During peak hours, the loading time took way longer than it should so I immediately upgraded to servers with solid state drives. It was quite costly but the lag magically banished.
Skill lag due to slow servers is not the gamers fault. I do acknowledge that upgrades can be very expensive and since Anet doesn’t charge monthly fees, I don’t see how an immediate upgrade can help their ROI. They do need to make money after all. Maybe they’ll consider upgrading if wvw represented a more significant chunk of their revenue. I’m not speaking for them, just rationalizing.

We’re talking about Tier 1, here. Not the non-T1 servers in Gold league. If people wanted to see them, they’d have stacked those servers, not these three. But they did stack these three, and now they want them to actually fight each other most of the time for the next 7 weeks. Simple, no?
I will add that Blackgate is the least stacked out of the 3. Yet we hold up well due to the commitment of our guilds and commanders. It’s the best server to be in for those who are bloodthirsty for battles.
Did some guest pve over at NSP and I was impressed at how they ran Orr temples regularly, including Balthazar. Friendly residents too. I’m sure the wvw crew will have a similar demeanor
One way this arrangement can be justified is by assigning each server a score/rank based on its rank pre-season. So a lower ranking server gets a bonus for each point earned from a higher ranking server.
For example (hypothetical), points earned by tc from jq will have a multiple of 1.25. on the other hand, points earned by jq from tc will only have a 0.79 multiple.
points earned between jq sor bg will be pegged at one.
this way, the higher ranking server will work harder vs lower rank.
just throwing this out as a possibility. it would be nice to hear from devs tho.
Yeah of course. It seems questionable when you’re in a seasonal competition and one of your biggest rivals has a pass on easy street. Meanwhile your server guilds and commanders remain in almost non-stop combat.
No it has nothing to do with wanting to smash the faces of tier 2. That’s quite shallow, that’s not how we think. It does have to do with exhausting our resources earlier and more often. It’s not easy going against one of big 3s.
The best way to illustrate the state of NA’s big 3 is through this chart. Notice how relatively close the scores are between bg jq and sor. However, when a tier 2 is in the mix, the score gaps widen significantly.
I’m just trolling your whining server mates. Why? Because I can’t hear it anymore. You always complain. You stack your server and win against SoR and JQ your server fills the forums with “BEASTGATE” and stuff.
Forum posts are read not heard so I’m uncertain what it is you’ve been hearing. Just chill, no need to be overly irritable.
Winning the league isn’t guaranteed for JQ. SoR is guaranteed a win in all matchups not involving JQ so they have a shot at winning the league as well.
How charming of you for totally discounting BG which IMO has been the least arrogant and least hypocritical on this thread.
The OP who seems like a nice guy is looking for epic fights and being in the big 3 delivers that often. As of now, the deficit between bg sor and jq is no more than 500 pts and there is a buffet of battles in every BL. I hope dude made it to one of the servers
OP, the truth is our server has lost a handful of large wvw guilds due to bandwagoning and inactivity. Judging by the last weeks numbers, we have the least wvw players out of the big 3. But the spirit in the server is still alive.
We may not be as active in recruiting at the forum but dont let that deter you from coming. Wvw guilds that migrate over are always warmly welcomed.
Engaging in battles is what we do even though it may hurt capping at times. The guilds to consider are plx, knt, ee, icoa, jinx, ons, thai, king, nd, hb. If you want comp-crazy hardcore, try plx and their leader is rawnoodles.
When I guest over there, the server seems to sport pride and a sassy attitude. Believegate I think is what they call the server. There was another one but I forgot.
kitten straight about the ‘tude. Hell, if our characters could speak they’d all have Brooklyn accents. But you gotta consider that we get trolled a lot in LA mapchat by guesters from SoR and JQ when battles are tight. They may be our biggest rivals but I gotta say I love those guys coz wvw would be boring as kitten without them.
I enjoyed SAB. Anet doesn’t charge monthly fees so I don’t mind buying gems but I think it will be money well spent if the items for sale are tied to events that had more substance
Im done w steampunk. It’s time we do Renaissance re-enactment. It has a more MMORPG fantasy feel.
But to give Anet some credit to the details they put into some armor, the metallic objects in the light Aetherblade skin only looks proper if bronze dye varieties are used. Amazing details pop-out. There’s little to no depth in details if other dyes were used
I think it was their intent to have this split from the get go considering that you can’t use your PVE gear in sPVP.
When it comes to class knowledge and player skill sets, sPVP attracts some of the better gamers from the player base spectrum. Hardcore wvw roamers w little or no sPVP experience stand a small chance winning VS roamers of the same number w lots of sPVP time.
But as someone mentioned, sPVPers do not spend anywhere near PVE and to be fair, most of Anet’s dev budget goes towards PVE.
I see the value of legendaries. I have the Twilight. However, I am contemplating about the Mjolnir. The requirements are as egregious as legendaries but without the “accomplishment”. In fact, it will cost more to craft than some legendaries. It’s rare but the ele conjure hammer also shares the same skin. idk…
I guess I was just a bit puzzled at why the requirements are so outrageous to almost legendary levels but without the status. It is very striking and I feel it’s better looking than the Juggernaut. If you want to see the summoned version of it, just ask an ele to conjure up the lightning hammer.

It will cost around 1200g to produce which is more than some legendaries, precursor included. It’s basically the hammer Elementalists summon. Im undecided, any tips/advice would help.
The OP’s argument here is valid. These sorts of changes would “bottle-neck” class gameplay diversity instead of promoting it. If a class is OP, I think one of the easiest way to balance them out is make the skill or set of skills less effective. But altering traits could have riskier outcomes.
On the other spectrum, we have the necromancer. Before the update, I ran a power/crit build that when coordinated with a good team, could drop 3-4 enemies in a matter of seconds. Of course it was never spammed by the mainstream because it was harder to execute but more rewarding for me.
Now the OP torment/fear build is being spammed by almost everyone including the same annoying people who said necros were garbage pre-update. These are the same people who ask what the OP classes are in each game they play so they could be it.
It’s refreshing to see well-thought-out suggestions instead of the usual whining. FOTM was such an outstanding addition to the game that it exceeded a lot of our expectations. Its replay value surpasses the Living Story content, which are great but very limited. If investments were made in expanding FOTM either by adding new paths or removing caps, it would at the very least, keep insatiable gamers busy for a long time.
