Best classes for Fractals

I ran lv49 fotm daily for 3-4 months religiously, what worked best for my group was mes/guard/2warr/thief. Ele and ranger are also amazing for fotm if played right.
In overal Id say the follow is most true for running fotm:

Most useful class: Guardian/mesmer (reflects are your friends)
dmg increase classes: Warrior/thief/ele/ranger (fury/might/empower allies/banners/spotter/perma blinds)
garbage class: Engineer/necromancer

Dual legendaries solution?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Setz.9675

You’re not losing anything, you still have a weapon that can change stats on the fly, for free, forever.

The skins cannot change stats.

You chose to make 2 of the same legendary. You’ve enjoyed it until now. You’re still going to enjoy it. It still outshines every other weapon due to being able to switch stats. What are you hoping for?

Stop complaining for no reason.

Here, I’ll give this topic some fuel to keep going:

Provide one reason (a real one, not one born out of regret and entitlement) why you should be refunded for making the same LEGENDARY twice.

People who bought the same dyes are being refunded with unid dyes, so dual legendary owners should be refunded at least one unid legendary weapon or skin?

This would be amazing, just like my 4 abyss, 6 celes and 2 midnight ice dyes can become a commen/uncommen/rare dye thanks to the unid dye refund, dual legendarys should become 1 unidentified weapon with exo/ascended/legendary stats. Its going to be AMAZING to lose your legendary item to an exotic weapon.

Also this thread asks for a solution but lets face it, there is no problem. Some people win dual wield skins and some people spend 1900 ish gold te have it before the patch. Some people gain more than others nothing more, nothing less.

Item Compensation for Dual Wielding Skins

I can understand that you feel like you messed up a good 1800g on your 2nd incinerator when the patch launches but the fact remains that you arent losing anything so you cant really ask for a compensation for something you didnt lose.

In this patch there are only things to win, and some people win more than others.

Crafted precursors, when?

The hit off the topic

http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/29166

1 person bought the remaining 5 frostfang precursors and tried to sell 1 at 800g, afterwards he is trying to improve the bid prices by placing 4-5 bids of 550-570g (I went into a bidding war for about 30 minutes constantly replacing my bids because I got outbidded in 5-10 seconds every time).

Please make precursor crafting possible asap so me and other players dont have to deal with this nonsense.

I’ll even give you a good idea: start of by receiving a mail from Dessa, saying she found a place where old champions compete in an eternal battle or whatever and wants us to check it out. Let players than choose their enemy, every boss has different tactics (I really don’t mind Liadri difficulty for these kind of fights) and drops a different broken precursor that we need to repair/infuse afterwards. The start of the repair process would require 250 globs of dark matter (nice exotic drain from the tp), 2x 10 deldrimor/spiritwood/elonian leather of the normal weapons components to craft. Put that stuff in the mystic hole of horrors and let zomorros work his magic. But oh noes something went wrong, the weapon isn’t attuned to this world anymore. The weapon hungers for blood, slay 500 of undead for dusk/dawn/the legend, 500 icebrood for tooth of frostfang, 500 bandits/centaurs for the energizer. When this is done players need to go to their respective dungeon (the tokens that are needed for the legendary) and infuse the weapon there at a newly introduced altar (or disco club for the energizer/chaos gun).

Its pure nonsense what I wrote above but its a quest to make, drains the TP, sends players to the dungeons they need to do for their legendary and puts them in a place they need to kill mobs (simple map completions would be enough to get those 500 kills or get close to it). Making the crafted precursor account bound would not hurt either since pretty much everyone that begs for crafted precursors want to make them for themselves and not its retail value. But please make precursors craftable, anything is better than to see those ridiculous prices and speculators reaping gold. The rich becomming richer, the poor becomming poorer.

ANY info about crafted precursors would be nice by now, its been about 9 months since it was brought up by the august 2013 forcast feature update but NOTHING at all has been released about it ever since beside that Anet is hardly working at this feature.

As a proud seller of The Moot I can assure you there is a nice profit for selling your legendary. Clovers, with some luck you get 1/6th of the tier6 materials needed for fortune. Upgrade cores—>lodestones saves about 30-50%. Upgrade t5—>t6 can yield 20-25% discount on fortune gift for the cost of skill points. Bid for your precursor can save you 100g.

All in all I crafted The moot for 1080g and sold it at 1980g. (1980*0.85)-1080 = 603g profit…. well profit its basicly selling 1mil karma, 50% map completion, 500 badge of honor, 500 dungeon tokens and roughly 440 skill points.

As for legendarys being so common…. well duh! the game is out for over 1.5 years. LEGENDARYS ARE NOT PRESTIGE ITEMS, NEVER WERE, NEVER WILL BE.

in Living World

Setz.9675

Lions arch staying destroyed and uninhabitable thanks to the toxic miasma residues.

Orr being completely cleansed of zhaitan corruption, trees and wild life returning to it and Arah becomming the new central hub for all races since the pact conquered it.

Completely new personal story lines after lv20. People that are past lv20 personal story being reset to lv20, people that completed the personal story keeping their personal story and a new story being unfolded at lv20 and upwards.

A battle for the pale tree safety, lots of ingame seperatists and propaganda against sylvari. Some tearjerker stuff about the pale mother and all races coming into her defense when the time is right.

Few large new zones building up to the next elder dragon. New dungeons in which we fight key npcs of the next elder dragons armies. Crazed dragon worshippers etc.

All types of factions for whom you need to gain reputation in order to buy stuff. Vendors of these factions selling armor skins, vanity items, new siege weapons for WvW (or different visuals for current siege). A new ability called acid rain to give vulnerability to keep walls (for the trebuchet).

Daily quests.

Monthly updates over bi-weekly updates but with changing environment within the update every 3-4 days for the first 2 weeks. Something like how halloween from 2012 was. Not giving the entire bulk of a story in 1 day, make it feel a bit more living.

Fractal skins used to be in that boat. Not so much. I remember when my Fractal sword first droppes. It was a huge deal. That has really changed. Be nice if there some other kinda reward for harder content. By that i mean 5 man instances not stuff like Teq.

Really? that has changed? kitten off.
After doing fotm for 4 months religiously (20/30/38/49) I got 7 skins in total. GS/rifle/shield/spear/pistol/shortbow/ and my last drop the fractal sword. 2 of my partners in fotm have never seen the sword/mace drop in 1 year of doing fotm. Fractal skins are a huge deal.

Dye Changes Feedback/Questions

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Setz.9675

Setz.9675

One of the biggest changes we’re making is that dyes will no longer be unlocked per character but per account instead. When you unlock a dye after the feature pack is released, all characters on your account will have unlimited access to that color.

If you already have the same dyes unlocked on multiple characters, when you log in on additional characters, you will receive one unidentified dye for each duplicate dye already unlocked on your account.

The first part of the text: ‘When you unlock a dye after the feature pack is released, all characters on your account will have unlimited access to that color’ implies that the dyes we have unlocked pre-patch will not become account bound.

The second part of the text implies that the game recognises 1 character as a main and removing all dyes from alts that are ‘double’ giving the player an unidentified dye in return. Basicly saying that pre-patch dyes become account bound too.

Could someone clear this one up for me?

What a pointless griefing thread. I played this game since 1 month after the release and Ive seen tier6 materials go for 2s a piece to 21s a piece after the bot banning, precursors going from 60g to 400g in 2 months time. If you aimed for a legendary at the start you had it easyer than when you played the game after 3 months.

I run dungeons with friends and they all have legendarys (usually seeing 2-3 twilights/sunrise’s + my own) that doesn’t devalue my twilight because I know how hard I worked for it.

So me and 2 friends of mine usually 3 man arah p2/3 and get a random for p1, my question is: If we do the dungeon completely legitimate, no buggings, no boss skipperinos, are we allowed to sell the remaining spots without risking a ban?

Ive heard of mass banning from dungeon sellers before but there have been quite some glitchers around for those pathes. Would it be possible to get an official response or could someone link an official response for me?

Stop shatting your pantsu already, yes the crit dmg is going to be toned down a bit BUT we getting 2 sigils on 2 handed weapons, buff to procc on crit and procc on weapon swap sigils, new utilitys that either heal or deal more dmg than other grandmaster traits.

So what I want to say is this: stop kittenposting untill the patch is live and you see a dramatic change for the worse.

A Proposal Concerning the Overall Game

Getting really tired about all these posts asking for a zerker nerf, please start using your brain just for once.

melee= high risk = high dps
range = low risk = low dps

3 dps stats = low defense/high risk = high dps
2 defense stats = high defense/low risk = low dps

The very core of the dps system in this game is based on what is written above. I will agree that condition stacking in dungeons is trash and that there shouldn’t be a condition cap in PvE but conditions should NEVER be on par with direct melee damage.

[edit: vulnerability is already highly desired since it can improve direct dmg up to 25% and might stacking causes a serious dmg increase as well, your suggestion to interactive boons is simply a strain on every players cpu]

At no point did I say nerf. I’m talking about making Zerker less necessary to do damage. I’m talking about condition builds. There is a condition damage stat you know. However conditions aren’t as strong in PvE. This is why I proposed that, to make other builds more viable.

How would interactive boons and conditions strain the cpu?

Why shouldn’t Conditions be on par with direct melee damage? If you put forth the effort to lay down many stacks of torment, bleeding, burning, confusion, and poison. You should see them compete with direct melee damage.

You just ignored everything I wrote beside the edit, how about you give us an argument why conditions that are applied by ranged attacks should be on par with zerker melee damage BESIDE for the fact that those conditions damage exist.

How interactive boons strain the CPU? I dunno maybe because the system needs tons more calculations before the real damage can be popped up on your screen.

Zerker build has ruined this game !

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Setz.9675

There are some enemies that zerker make die so quick you don’t have to avoid damage, but many Elites, Champions, and Legendaries you still have to avoid damage from, which is more punishing on zerkers if you don’t.

I would argue that zerker doesn’t make bad players, it makes better farmers.

Zerker will always be the optimal set as long as active defense trumps sustained defense.

You can watch videos on youtube where ppl stand on top of the boss and there HP never drops down or there dodge bar never goes down either

Luping whos is suppose to be the 1 of the strongest dungeon boss was kill in 40 sec with out any of the member’s getting hit with out the need of using dodge

Taking a video from 1 of the best PvE guilds in the game and use it as an example for all, pretty much sums up the intelligence of all the people griefing on zerker gear because they can’t get into dungeon runs with their dire/cleric/pvt set.

CDI- Fractal Evolution

in CDI

Posted by: Setz.9675

Setz.9675

Suggested Idea:
Ascended armor bought with fractal relics.

Goal of Proposal:
To allow fractal runners continue their progression without having to spend 60g+ on each weapon/armor since fractals hardly drop gold to cover the money requirement that is needed now. (especially when you want to run fractals with different characters as well)

Proposal Functionality:
Players can buy ascended armor/weapon boxes for 2350 fractal relics (same price as infused ascended backpiece in terms of relics), imo 4700 relics for 2-handed weapons but that kinda hard when they come in boxes.

Associated Risks:
Prices on several tier materials that are needed for ascended armor will drop in value on the trade post.
More entitled casuals in fractals hoping to reap cheap rewards and coming back from a cold shower after they realise they need to do atleast 20 runs for a single piece.
People would be less inclined to level up crafting professions.

Pros: pristine fractal relics and fractal relics have additional value (those are basicly your gold drops that would be spend on ascended armor)

Everyone else already said it so Im just going to throw it out, dredge needs a redesign. I dont care how but its current form is (ok its somewhat fun) but its a huge strain on a party and takes too long.

Fractal skins should drop more frequently at higher levels (lv40/50+ should see a drastic increase in drops imo). Also if we are ever allowed to buy skins with pristine fractal relics or fractal relics its going to seriously trivialise its value, please dont ever do that.

Bet that is why she stole the anti-toxin injector to use her poison with that injector on the pale tree

Halloween Events not as good as Last Year's

in Blood and Madness

Setz.9675

This years halloween is so bad I can hardly put it in words.

Mad realm doors: hardly any events spawn from this.

Mad kings labyrinth: grindfest with rewards that arent worth it, bickering between the tho thorns was fun for 2-3 times but I know the drill by now.

clocktower: although somewhat needed nerf, it killed the community of it. Sharing frustration with others made it fun, the feeling of accomplishment was tremendous when I did it the first time. We could have just been turned into human ghosts or whatever for this clocktower rather then see 4 whisps and yourself.

Lunatig inquisition: this is pretty fun and feels very halloween like.

Sweet rewards? I think not, the droprates are so low its not even worth trying.

Candy cornycopia: laughable, no ludicrious even. 20 slot bag? 15000 CANDY CORN PLEASE! dont want to farm 24/7 to get 1 20 slot bag? buy candy corn for 70G PLEASE!

Mask of the night: this will surely fit my mesmer, doesnt fit any other class for me but surely light armor users will find a way with it.

Scavenger hunt for mad kings lore? ha no, lore is premium content go away filthy newling.

Reapers Rumble? Nah this is premium content only for 2012, dont touch my glorious premium content. Its not like halloween is a recuring seasonal event.

Master Carver? No the pumpkins were infused with mad king magic last year, only if you carve those pumpkins would make you elligible for this title, the pumpkin carving this year is for babys and should not reward a title. hurdur logic. Why dont you just remove the pumpkins while your at Anet since removing content is the only thing you can do right.

Wishful I was when I saw a tower covered in thorns for the next living content only to realise now that its not for halloween and what we got now is all we will get. I wanted to buy a halloween costum but it will now painfully remind me how aweful this piece of kittentrash halloween is this year, so thank you for saving me that expense.
