i use torch to initiate and give teammates chaos armor at the start. i would use prestiage while charging at the opposing team…..swap to staff and lay down chaos storm on top of them. blast finisher when prestiege ends granting chaos armor for you and team mates near you, usually the other team is unloading their DPS on everyone or running away…towards the end of chaos storm i would phase retreat for another chaos armor on myself as i back out of the fight a bit. if i need chaos armor again i can use staff 4 if needed. if i do end up using staff 4 and fighting is still going on i would drop a null field and do another phase retreat for chaos armor again….iunno…just a play style that i play sometimes and not dependant on traits, but having CD reduction for staff torch or glamour with temporal enchanter, you can keep chaos armor up while giving mates boons, removing conditions, removing boons from enemy players and applying conditions all from rotating skills to keep chaos armor up. i hope i made sense. i hope i do not get quoted. i hope others tried to play like this? use torch not to run and hide? that blast finisher….i’ll tell…made a few friends because of that

If Mirror of Anguish and Illusionary Invigoration are receiving cooldown reductions from 90s to 60s.. then why isn’t Desperate Decoy slated to receiving the same reduction?

compared to mesmers other ranged weapons…staff and scepter…GS attacks faster. with sharper images ( dueling master trait “illusions inflict bleeding on critical hits”) your GS clones and iberserker can stack bleed fairly quickly. hope this clears things up

1) yes. decoy will null revealed condi. it’s great have fun with it

2) the way i understand how guard staff symbol work is that it uses a pulse mechanic to apply swiftness. if that mechanic was to be applied to curtain i would imagine that someone with warden traited would have some projectiles reflected and some not when using curtain.

pyro i don’t understand why you keep quoting me and my sarcasm. i’m going to have to charge you the next time you quote one of my jokes…but anyways…GS was great for getting people up on walls and even behind them. if you could target it then iberserker could hit it given that player or object is within range. maybe “nerf” is the wrong word for it. GS has been getting “balanced” or “fixed” through out the patches..like idueliest projectile finisher when traited giving 100% chance.

OP comes on the mesmer forums to figure out why….seems to me that OP is an attentive player. i doubt he/she is suiciding hardcore on confusion…leave that assumption to the players that do not ask questions

ever since they put that LoS check on GS…it’s been slowly nerfed…telling you guys anet got some good ninjas. i can tell they used theird jedi mind tricks just by reading some of these post.

if its not condition damage that’s getting you maybe they are using rendering shatter (IV in domintion “shattering applies 1 stack of vulnerbility”) with dazzling (master trait in domination "daze applies 5 stacks of vulnerbility) trait to stack vulnerbility on you when they use diversion and/or any daze skill, follow through with mind wrack for big damage. hope this helps. not many shatter mes out there nowdays

it’s aoe beam is not as wide since last patch. maybe giving the illusion of less damage? anet has some good ninjas pyro…they’ll nerf you and you wouldn’t notice a thing

zerg came knocking at WC gate and i was safe inside the tower. decided to throw feedback for the attackers behind the gate. casted feedback…saw lots of damage numbers behind the gate but also lots of retaliation numbers on me. i went down in less than 3 secs. i had confusing enchantments trait and i think that made their retaliation more effective against me.

i thought it was just AR being affected. when i swap trinkets, stats like AR would not accounted for. it seems that armor with runes is affected by this bug. i would swap to a set with centaur runes, heal and would not get the swiftness boon. i had to unequip and reequip to gain the bonuses from the runes.

seems like they’re nerfing us again but trying to make it look like a buff imo. 30 points in domination…cause i want that extra mantra…so op…power spike! power spike! power spike! channeling mantra….power spike! power spike! power spike!

i can confirm this. got a fractal scepter skin i was saving in my bank. after the patch it became a statless scepter that i could equip and would not give me the option to transmute on to another scepter.

ArmageddonAsh.6430 i believe a lot of players feel the same way you do. i certainly do. i was referring to the illusion trait that grants might on shatter. it was introduced back in oct i believe. they toned it down since then, like how they toned down condition damage. the game was different back. seeing the changes now is kind of pleasing cause anet is truely listening and the game world, it’s molding into a world that the players want. looking back at www makes me laugh. when keeps had orbs of power…and those hackers…flying mesmers…hilarious cause it was so obvious that players were cheating. flying mesmers portaling a zerg into the keep. it stopped being funny when thf used those hacks…you would wonder, was that a shadowstep?…or teleport hack? can’t tell cause it really does not have an animation. at least with mesmers and ele when they blink you can tell by the butterflies or the lighting striking the ground…but thf using shadowstep…not so much. took anet awhile to catch them but they got them. i notice less thf in www but the ones i do encounter…are pretty kitten tricky and well played. occasssionally you’ll get the new thf that does the 2222 onry…confusion/retrabution mes used to do so well against those types…thf press 2222 to their deaths, but now they have to press 22222222222222 until they die but will run out of AP before unknowingly killing themselves…i hope i made sense…i keep thinking about those flying asura mesmers back then and it cracks me up. nowdays i just roam www with a kite looking for zergs…just see how many seconds of distortions i can pop before getting murdered to the ground

anet doesn’t hate mesmers…it’s mesmers hating on mesmers. remember when anet gave mesmers a way to generate 12 stacks of might? a few mesmers said it was OP so anet nerfed it…i should say balanced it but that’s just a matter of opinions. 4k shatters per illusions…thieves had 16k crit and every other class went bunker builds…those were fun times.

Also correct me if I’m mistaken, but I thought the game was called Guild Wars 2 not Trade Wars 2.

I do partake in the economy but I do not view the TP as my source of income. If you do enjoy doing that, then it isn’t my right to tell you whether to do or not do it.

But the tax as it stands right now puts those who use TP as main income and those who don’t in the same basket. Meaning small time traders are generally penalized while those do are the big traders aren’t. This needs some re-adjusting so everyone can be on an equal footing.
