My other complaint with the RTL nerfing is that I use RTL while out of combat A LOT! Now it’s on a 40 sec cd? Why the hell should balancing for sPvP screw up my game play in PvE and WvW????
That is the million dollar question, so stupid to be balanced off of spvp.
Josh they are not going to be prestige items if no one has them. Just look at WOW, one time only things are gone, you have maybe a handful of the player base out of millions having those item.
So if GW2 has any longevity the skins are just going to disappear, something for you maybe look up on the wiki but there will not be any ingame.
Depends on how big a zerg you plan to lead. IF you are planing on leading a big 30-40+ zerg against other zergs then i would say you to be as tanky as you can get. It is often the commander that initiates the push so you are going to be right up in the action as you try and slice through the other zerg. Hell i would say 90% of the time you are going to the first ones hitting the wall of pain since you are the one bringing the anvil to the hammer.
Also depends on how many pugs you have. A guild group can still function if there commander goes down and even then it can still be a breaker against another equally skilled and sized group but it will almost always break your pugs witch any good commander knows your pugs are also very important.
That is the issue…
Despite the greatest part of the community is WWW AND PVE we have to suffer nerfs for game modes where D/D is not an issue for sure…
Expecially touching traits means WWW and PVE nerfs.
COnsidering how in pve Wariors and guardians are utterly broken and OP and are monopolizing groups mostly it rightfully makes people upset.
D/D ele maybe is OP in PvP but if you nerf it again in pve/www it will become unviable….
So for the sake of few pvp players don t ruin the game of thousand players thank you!

I agree, i am going to be so mad if i get nerfed in wvw cause of spvp. Hard enough being a d/d ele since i cant hit anything on a wall and in big fights you have to be right up on the front lines face tanking all the damage and conditions. That is if i can even make it through all the aoe i have to charge though to get to the front lines.
Need to keep the nerfs like they did the EA nerf where it only affects spvp. Hidden Cantrip nerf was more then damaging enough to the wvw d/d ele as it is.
That’s right. They control the supply….NOT the price. The price, in this case, is STILL determined by overabundance of DEMAND!!!
I’m not neglecting that possibility….but it would also require the supply to be great enough to outweigh the current demand for the item. Doubling, tripling, or even, quadrupling the supply at this point would probably barely touch whether the price comes down…..again….based on the demand for the item. I guarantee you if they were to increase the supply of precursors, the price of Venom would fall because the demand for it just isn’t there to support the price it’s at now. As for Dusk / Dawn….there may be a reduction, but it would most likely be negligible.
Precursors….ALL precursors….are meant to be rare. Rarity usually comes with a price. I’m sure the intent of the low world and Mystic Forge drop rate was to keep precursors rare. I doubt ArenaNet could have predicted the disparity between Venom and Dusk…..but the fact is, the demand for Dusk is much higher than the demand for Venom, therefore, the price players are willing to pay for it is higher. If players didn’t want the item as badly as they do, the price wouldn’t be as high as it is.
In particular, the section on “Excess Demand”. Maybe then you’ll truly understand what’s going on with these highly popular precursors.
I think you should reread the title of this topic(which you wrote). Supply and demand have an impact on price. If supply is increase price surely will drop.
How does tripling the mystic forge rate not cause the price to drop. If it cost an average of 200 gold to make a precursor, it will sell for 200 gold on TP. If Anet release more precursor in every event the price will be lower already. If the super adventure box event actually drop precursor the price will be low already.
Anet keep precursor price high because they want to sell more gem and they do want people to grind. Anet is doing exactly what every f2p games I played is doing. Make enormous gold sink so some people will buy gem. And making grindy content because they dont’ have infinit resource to make infinit content.
So can you stop with the obvious that item supply do have an impact on price and the more supply the lower the price will be.
And please stop telling me demand have an impact on price. Yes I get it, I said I agree so many times already. But so does the supply of item which you neglect it the entire time.
And you keep saying Anet don’t control the price. Oh wait, ya they don’t. They just take a back seat. Keep the price high because they want it so they can sell more gem and keep people playing their game because they don’t have enough content. Seriously it take 1500 cof runs to get a legendary. There is also the double edge sword of people leaving the game because of precursors. And it is not like it is rare for that to happen ether, i know personally of many cases of people that left the game that where regular buyers of gems cause of how soul crushing anet made precursors. And you can tell that player base in general is not happy with how precursors are being handled.
So are BG and SOR starting to wise up, i would love to see ether SOR or BG overcome JQ’s huge numbers. Only way to make t1 competitive again without having most of what is left of NA wvw pool coming together on the same server to mach jq in its super stackyness.
SOR will push for first one week. Bg will try to kitten them every chance they get . After a few weeks they will lose interest just like Bg is doing . Jq will remained stacked . WvW will remain stale

So with a diminished BG i dont see any other server making T1 competitive tell JQ falls apart, if they ever do. Maybe if Kaineng, SOR and BG collapsed into each other you might get a server of the same numbers but i dont see that happening. Let alone getting a third server as stacked as JQ.
We’ve taken BG keep everyday on EB, nothing special about it anymore.
Another thing, SoR needs to goto Tier 2, this JQ SoR alliance and JQ always winning isn’t really fun anymore, I like to actually feel like I’m making a difference and not, oops JQ wins again because we tag team BG.

When you’re DD, Vitality wont prove needed. You already have many Condition Removals. Vitality is not needed and to you it’s USELESS !!!

You must of not heard of burst. When a GC thief ista gibs you for 16 to 19k on your 14K health pool Vitality is far from useless.
JQ has eyes on BG because BG proved that under the right conditions BG can beat them.
JQ has no need to bother with SoR because they know SoR cannot beat them.
SoR goes after BG because they know they cannot beat BG on their own so they take advantage of the current situation.
Just look at it this way BG.
JQ is afraid of you and SoR needs help from another server to beat you.
I would not say JQ is afraid of BG. As much as it pains me to say this JQ could overpower BG with there numbers if they pulled long hours like BG did last week.
SOR has played for second by riding on JQ’s coattails since they got in T1 so i dont know why people on BG are complaining. Just going to have to learn to deal with them like we have every other week.
For Jade quarry to facilitate this behaviour i understand more because it gives them the edge. You guys make a strategy to keep BG down, thus heightening your lead. It’s a viable strategy and I completely understand that. I have no problems.
For SOR to be doing this, though, it’s like they are literally just playing only for 2nd place.
Last week and this past weekend SOR camped BG entrance while JQ easily took the keep. I know you guys are saying being double teamed is part of the game, but you guys really should be watching what is going on. I have literally seen a SOR zerg stand inside the BG keep and protecting the front while JQ tried to cap the keep. They did not even fight each other.
You guys say double teaming is part of the game, but man, this has been going on for almost 2 weeks now. Let alone the fact that SOR is hardly in JQ BL.

When I made my Bifrost (which requires 750 of them) a few months back, I bought them for a measly 3s each. The demand for them at the time was much lower, compared to what it is today.

Did you read the thread or just skim. Demand has only marginally changed. The massive drop in supply is what changed .
My bf and I have been doing occasional Temple of Grenth runs. Since most of the time you are running Grenth you just fail miserably, we ended up with a lot of heavy moldy bags. I have yet to get a giant eye from the bags, but my bf have gotten at least 3 out of 150 bags. Perhaps that’s something you could try?

Last week shows that SOR will probably continue to do well during NA hours, and it’s due to BG and JQ focusing on each other rather than on SOR.
BG:
If there is a JQ tower and SOR tower, BG will most likely attack the JQ tower.
JQ:
If there is a BG tower and SOR tower, JQ will most likely attack the BG tower.
Most of the time, SOR doesn’t get focused on by 2 servers, so they get to roam and choose who they want to attack. At least that’s how I saw it especially on the borderland I was on. JQ attacks BG tower, SOR gets a free BG keep. BG attacks JQ tower, SOR takes JQ keep.
Both BQ and JQ know who the real threat is. For whatever reason though SOR loves to ride on JQ coattails and give them a huge lead over the weekend. Works out great for JQ though to have SOR dancing to there tune.

Maybe they are lying low. But JQ has alot more numbers participating this week (so far). Also, not long now before the exploiters will have us siege capped with all the rams being spammed whilst Anet, with the hundreds of reports they have, do nothing about it. I think alot of JQ players, knowing this, are not going to coast so much so we aren’t in a position we can’t deal with at the end of the week with spending way too much on gollems because we can’t build any other siege.
You know rams have there own cap, troll rams hurt the local cap but not the map cap.
Lol i had to drink for the other reason, it was becoming unbearable. Felt like they focused us the whole time not just the beginning. worst part was there was no queue by 9pm st. So we did our best. We were waiting for ya’ll to hit garrison, and time it up with hills but never came. But we all understand why we would get focused. By later in the week SoR will be a non-factor and it will be down to us again. Can’t wait.
I want to know what magic JQ did to steal SOR soul to have them work so hard for them. Maybe if we start dropping percursors JQ will tell us.

I think JQ was suppressed one friday night for over 5 hours.
I know i’ve seen BG/JQ get SOR and SOS both at one point or another, but only for an hour or two.
Double teaming and then fighting for the keep is one thing. Having SOR camping the keep entrance while JQ takes the keep, and having no resistance between them is another.
Not to mention SOR are being lapdogs to JQ at this point just so they can remain in tier 1.
whatever it’s futile if i try to complain now i will just try to drop it. GG after 4.5 hours you guys got our keep.
I dont think there is anything to complain about, it took 2 of the best servers in the game throwing everything they had at us for hours together to cap. Its like taking 4 guys out in a 1v5. Ya you miss that last guy but you cant be happier.

And jq has some of SOS on them in the form of PRX. JQ put its hands into quite a few cookie jars to stack as much as they did.
Even though i love what you have done with green garrison JQ we at BG had to move in. Its going to be our home garrison soon so we have to start getting used to the place. Thank you for keeping it in order and we will take good care of it.
SOR you have a thief on your server that is hacking and flipping an EB tower, Longor gulch to be precise. Now before all the ohh you did not memser sweep or it was a flash golom rush we have it being flip with people sitting in the tower.
Longor might be bugges so i am trying to get screens to send to anet but is kinda hard since i dont know what he is doing.

Even before this weeks match started, we on Blackgate said that we expected JQ to win with 50-70K points this week. It has nothing to do with BG getting burned out, but us returning to our normal schedules instead of pulling out double shifts.
Ya, dont want BG to turn into SOS burning themselves out trying to fight a bloated JQ. You can only fight JQ’s coverage for so many weeks before it gets to you. Its amazing what BQ did last week vs jq numbers but doing that every week can tear a server apart
Its completely based on opinion. Personally I find it useless now and if you honestly want some sort of magic find boost, Omnomberry Bars are fine. I have 4 fully speced 80’s and my warrior was in complete magic find exotics getting 200% mf with buffs. Of course I ran this back when Orr was easily farmable with plinx/shelt/pent but even though I saw an increase, it was not as large as one would expect with such a large amount of Mf. I have long since gotten rid of the gear and run regular gear so that I can be efficient in dungeons and events. Even without the mf gear, I find myself finding good drops.
IF you are talking about exotics MF does help it is just to such a small degree that is where opinion comes in. Say a exotics price has a .01% chance of dropping and you have enough MF to double that. NOW you have a .02% chance of getting it which is better but is it worth it.
You should pull in more greens and yellows though, that is where MF really shines since they have much higher drop rates, your doubling 15% to 30% per say.
Amazing what JQ can do when playing against NPCs. Seriously outstanding.

I’m thinking ‘some’ people couldn’t handle losing and lacked the intestinal fortitude to even bother fighting back, and instead went the easier, softer way and hopped to BG. But hey, i could be way off. Either way, looking forward to crushing you and your server next week. Maybe this time we can get your guild to quit the game, instead of just the server, lol.

Do you somehow believe that PvE doesn’t pay the bills for Anet? WvW is a very small fraction of GW2 in terms of playerbase. Do you really believe that Jade Quarry, a single server in the game, is ‘damaging’ the game by winning decidedly? Is the sky, in fact falling?
That is funny coming from a JQ player which is predominantly WvW. Actually WvW is what keeps alot of people in the game and makes most of ANet money. The WvW is the only place that builds server and guilds reputation, hence the bragging rights and people pay gold to transfer not for PvE but for WvW.
Needless to say any imbalance in the WvW is bad for both winners and losers as it affects their gameplay. Winning without challenge aka PvDooring and getting stomped all the time at the other end it is a game breaker, people lose interest after a while and eventually move on.
Right, but you cannot blame a server of gamers for flawed game design…that’s just ridiculous. Wouldn’t you agree?
You can to an extent, when it was clear that JQ far outnumbered any other server in the game before free transfers ended they where still blacking out there server to stack more people on it. Even after frees ended they where still trying to get guild over there.
I hope for the health of the game that BG can stack as much as jq has but i have my doubts .

Even with BG getting a lot of SOS, i dont think it will be enough, you would need to collapse another server as well into BG to stack to level that JQ did before paid transfers.
When they nerf thieves and burst in general(but many thieves) i will gladly take a nerf. When you have to take 20K + of insta damage from a BS combo what else can people expect but people running full bunkers.
10 times the number use day/month/year than use month/day/year. Because it makes more sense to put them in order.
How are you to judge what makes more sense for a person.
Just because you use the wrong and unintuitive format, doesn’t mean you should have a whinge when others use the correct format on the forums. What he’s judging is what makes more sense to a normal person, not a yank who thinks it makes more sense to put them out of order.
Someone does something different then me and is therefor they are not normal. I guess i need to file that away for later use.
So we all know that almost all ppl transfered to JQ before the end of free transfers….
So a server with almost 50% ( i think) of all US population will be out of tier 1 for weeks….
So now all low tiers servers and also the tier 1 will get steam rolled and will probably pay a transfer to JQ (probably i understand this, anet must win money before ESO come out)….
So the queues on that server will become huge (unless they get bored of having all the map)…
My question is: why?
You lose all credibility when you say 50%. Besides, if this is the biggest thing you need to worry about in your life, then good for you.
I know he is underestimating that number, needs to do his research.
I think next week now that SOR has seen what the massive staking that jq has done and what is like to face it should put down a hard 2v1 vs JQ. SOS as well. Might be able to keep jq in 3rd longer then when reset numbers die down and people have to go back to real life.

Could it be this recent change? 2 new waypoints have been added to the game through the 2013-01-28 patch.

Uncontested waypoints have been added to Cursed Shore and Straits of Devastation. Players that have already achieved map completion will retain it without having to discover these new waypoints.

LOL i love some the jq poster comparing the very slight coverage advantage SOS had before paid transfers to the massive stacking jq has now that eclipses even what HOD had at its best. I was even hoping JQ got a few guilds but to see what they did just makes me sad.
LOL I love the SoS posters not seeing that they were stacked. And crying on the forums when they are losing.
I know, SOS was so stacked it would fall to under 100 ppt for 5 to 6 hours every day. SOS was so stacked that outside of primetime SOS only had on average around a 60 ppt lead over JQ. God they where just stacked to high heavens.
