Money should be spend for developers to come up with something to fix FPS drop in huge events.
When there are 100 players on some boss, your FPS will drop below 60, even if you have octa R9 390X or GTX Titan + i7-5960X.
Invest money in DirectX update + general game performance optimisation.
May I ask what happened with Pile of Coarse sand material over the last 2 weeks?
I’m watching my TP history, and I sold like 500 of those items for 8 silver each 14-18 days ago. Now I can’t even sell for 5 silver.
Was there some update about that item, or it’s just one of those demand and supply thingies?
I have question about crafting legendary Eternity greatsword.
Right now I have Twilight and it’s account bound. Can I now craft Sunrise and use it to unlock skin, and after that combine those 2 weapons in mystic forge to get Eternity.
Will Eternity be account bound or I will be able to sell it?
Eternity skin is basicly Twilight + Sunrise, so no point to account bound that one also.
I would just like to craft sunrise and unlock skin. After that craft Eternity and sell on TP. With those 4k gold (after 15% taxes), I would craft Ascend greatsword and use transmutation charge to add either Twilight or Sunrise looks to ascend greatsword.
Is that possible?
Everything would be just the same, except when it comes to changing stats on weapon. But for those 4000 gold I can acctually craft all possible greatsword with differend stats xD
It’s a shame that game like this is still using DirectX 9.
Probbably DirectX 11/12 alone wouldn’t increase performance by much, but at those big events every FPS is important.
I just hope there will be some update regarding game performance and system ressources usage.
I don’t know why I had in mind that with HOT release, they also updted to DirectX 11
I’m sure there would be nice performance bump if they would go from dx9 to dx12
I’m pretty sure that GW2 support multi threading.
Using HWMonitor for my PC, and all 8 threads are working on around 40% each. Playing only GW2, so no other program is using CPU.
tested it at events and I must say that even when my FPS drop below 20, non of the CPU core is even nearly to 100%. Same goes for GPU load and memory usage as I mentioned before.
There are still tons of CPU and GPU ressources left that could be used by GW2, but for some unknown reason it won’t use it.
Was thinking about buying R9 390 or GTX 970, but what’s the point if game can’t even use my current GPU to 100%. Would spend 350€ on new GPU and in the end game wouldn’t even use all of ressources that are avaliable.
Playing this game for few months and the one thing that’s bothering me is graphic optimisation. When I’m playing alone I have no problem geting even up to 120 FPS, but I limited it 60 FPS because that’s more than enough.
But when it comes to group events, FPS drop down to 30 or even below that. One time I had 12 FPS on some boss event.
First I thought it’s because of my graphic card, but I downloaded software to monitor GPU usage. I expected to have GPU usage at 100% at events, but instead my GPU usage is always below 50%, regardless to FPS count.
Why doesn’t game use more GPU to try and perform those 60 FPS? It’s not CPU either … using i7 4790 and GW2 never used more than 30% of it. I just don’t get it why won’t game request more PC resources to try and keep at 60fps.
Was playing around with those game settings but nothing realy helped me to solve this problem.
My question to other players: What’s your GPU, and how much FPS do you have at big events with like 50+ players on same boss?
Anyone else having problems with connection?

I know what that error code means … could be my firewall settings or Anet server problems, so I just wanna make sure that I’m not the only one with this problem now.
I do hope that GW2 will get optimised for Ultra HD and 4K resolutions to attract more players, provide better interface etc.
But honestly I don’t think I will upgrade to 4K anytime soon.
24" display with 1920×1080
or 26" with 1920×1200 is more then enough for me.
And like someone else pointed out fact about upgrading PC to run on 4K.
Most gamers have PC rig worth below 1000$, and I don’t think you can run GW2 on 4K with high/ultra settings at 60 FPS.
Why can players offer 1 copper for item that can’t even be sold for that amount.
For example, those runes and sigils, can only be sold for 19copper, but players are offering below that.
Can’t system just remove those offers? It’s pointless that this is even possible since you can’t sell it under that price. No reason for offers that are bellow that.
I bought Guild Wars 2 around April this year for 45€, and had to pay another 45€ for HOT few months ago. Paid 90€ for game withing half year.
Do I regreat it? Not even close.
Sure it seems kinda unfair, but that way you are supporting GW2 to stay alive. With recent HoT price, they received nice amount of money, that will pay for server bills and all developers.
Is 45€ realy so much? I’m a student in kinda poor country, but I paid for it anyway because that game is awesome.
How much time do you have to work to earn those 45€ ? few hours
And how much time do you spend playing this game? can’t say for you, but 500+ hours here at least.

Does that have to do something with DS map xD ?
Every time timer resets and maps restart, everyone is jumping to maps with COMs only. I did DS meta 50 times or even more, so I know everything you need to know about DS meta, but still looking only for map with coms. Other maps always fail for many reasons.
Also because of coms, we have Squad that works as anti DC (if your client crash or you get connection lost, you can get back on the same map by using squad). Subgriups for squad (decide who will go for boss) etc.
I don’t see problem with needing commanders.
Does anyone know if those gathering tools for 1000 gems are account wide? So if I buy it with one character and equip, it will be also on other characters? Or do I have to take of this tools and put to storage and then use on another account?

just wanted to ask for advice, what weapon and stats I should use for low level necro. I way playing 4 months guardian and warrior with greatsowrd only, so I’m wondering what should I use for necro. I’m leveling it from level 1 solo in open world PVE.
Need to know what weapon and stats I should use to get level 80 asap. I believe at level 80 I need to build it for condi, but what about low levels when I need to kill mobs as fast as I can?

Well TP wasn’t working for me past few hours and now it’s working again.
Seems like ArenaNet fixed this problem because I didn’t do anything (didn’t even close game).

If you want your game to run on 60 FPS, i5 4th generation of CPUs should do it’s work.
Probbably your problem is bad GPU.
I had i5 3350p CPU + R9 270X and I was able to run 60 FPS without problems. But CPU load was mostly around 80%, so I decided to buy i7 4790 (not K edition). CPU load is around 40% when I play GW2.
So if i5 3350p (cheapest i5) can bring you 60 fps, I bet any other i5 will do the same thing.
I would suggest you to buy GPU for around 300€
I absolutely agree with this idea.
I know the strugle when I’m trying to join DS map … thinking if I should scroll down the LFG list or it will pop up at the begining after I scroll down etc.
DS seems to be popular so it would be realy nice if it could have subgroup in LFG system
And I have to agree with other guy about how many times you can join party via LFG. Some players at DS are trolling (saying that his map have 3 commanders, but when you join … well empty map). Also many times when you join party, map is full so again you have to leave party. I know there must be some kind of protection to prevent abuse, but that realy get on my nervs when I try to get on DS map.
The star on the left is for World Completion,(visiting every single hero point, vista, point of interest, and way point on the original map) the one on the right is for Masteries.

I just have one question about name display. I noticed that some players have 2 stars in title and others have only 1. I have no idea how many stars are in my title, and no idea how to check how others see my nickname and titles.
So I’m wondering what’s the deal with those golden stars?

Hey guys I just wanted to let you know that I had same problems as you mentioned … most of my crashes were on DS map. Like 3 crashes each meta event.
I downloaded x64 client from GW2 official website. It’s still in beta stage, but I must say it fixed problem for me. I did 3 full DS events (from begining to last boss). 0 crashes so far.
So whoever is using x64 bit OS, should concider geting x64 client also.

last crash was when DS last boss had 1% health … tried to get back on the map to collect reward but why should that work lol
I had some luck with Mystic forge and got dusk from it, so I decided to make twilight. I’m almost there to craft it, but that’s not the point.
I crafted ascend greatsword (zojja), and I don’t know what to do with it after I get my twilight. Surely I will only use twilight, so Zojja will be useless for me. Sadly I can’t sell it on TP, so I’m wondering what I can do with it. Is there any way to get some gold out of it?
So I noticed that I can buy items for harvesting,logging and mining in gem shop.
For all 3 I have to pay 3000 gems and after that I can gather materials without limitations.
But when does that pay off? 3000 gems is like 400 gold, and I can’t imagine how many materials I would have to gather to acctually gain some profit out of this item.
Any of you guys bought that and acctually make profit out of it?
Now when I think about it, I don’t think I saw anyone saying those percents for any other area than SW.

Too bad we can’t see list of all maps in the area we are currently in, and details about how many players are there + some option to join that map whenever there is free slot instead of taxi players in by party
I heard that 150 players is max limit on the same map.
I’m just wondering if there is any way to check how many players are on the map I’m currently on? When I try to taxi players in, and they can’t join I know map is full.
But at LFG system players sometimes say 90%, 70%, 20% etc.
How do they know how many players are acctually on some map?
I’m interested in making Zojja’s Claymore greatsword (ascend), and I’m wondering if I need all crafting diciplines on level 500 for it.
I would buy everything I can from TP, but Vision Crystal can’t be bought on TP, so I have to craft my own.
I have only weaponsmith on level 500 so far, other profesions are still at level 0.
Disciplines for Vision Crystal are:
Armorsmith
Artificer
Huntsman
Leatherworker
Tailor
Weaponsmith
I know exactly what changing graphic engne would mean.
Every map/character/monster they made, would need to be remade. They would need to remake game almost from begginings.
Sure it would cost much and take lots of time, but GW2 sold over 3M copies + not to mention gems in game. I think they wouldn’t have money problems.
But I forgot that for UE4 to run perfectly we would need monster PC.

I have been killing bosses with groups for whole day now, and I’m just wondering how reward system works. If I give more dammage to boss, I will get better rewards?
Well I’m level 80 with 11 level master warrior. I have full exotic berserker armor and aceessories … so everything is just power/ferocity/percision.
It’s great build for killing mobs one by one solo, but when it comes to boss killing and following commanders around level 80 map for group events, I’m feeling kinda squishy.
So at close rage when I attack with greatsword I get killed kinda fast on champions group events. Because of that I decided that my 2nd weapon is long bow so I can attack from far away to not get his by boss. Greatsword/longbow sounds kinda lame for Warrior and I admit it is.
That’s why I would like to ask for any opinions how to build Warrior kinda tanky. I know there isn’t real agro on bosses like other games and lots of AOE attack, but still I would like to hear suggestions what weapon/armor/accessories/runes I should use to become kinda tanky and not squishy like I am now.
I will use Berserker gear for killing solo, that’s for sure, but when I decide to join boss hunting run, I will just switch my items so I won’t die at first hit on boss.
I’m open to suggestions, so please let me know what kind of build would be tanky for warrior.
I have question about Agony resistance.

Just wanna check if I’m thinking right … if I have 6 armor parts and each of them have +9 agony resistance, + 2x 9 agony resistance from weapon, I would have 72 agony resistance total. So according to the table I’m looking, I can only loose 1% of my health per sec.
I don’t think that’s true, because players would never die if they had more than 70 agony resistance.
So I just wanna know what exactly would change for me if I had agony resistance. Right now I have full berserker exotic gear + greatsword everything focused on Percision and Ferocity, so when I go kill bosses, they kill me kinda fast when using AOE and other skills.
So what would be differend if I had 10/20/30/40/50/60/70 agony resistance total?
I’m asking because ascend armor (that have agony resistance free slot) is not easy to get. It seems like it cost 200 gold for each part. Not to mention Eternity, Sunrise or Twilight greatsword … those cost around 3000 + gold. Also agony infusions are expencive … so I’m wondering if it’s realy worth all that money.
So if someone could explain to me how that Agony resistance work, and what would I benefit from it, I would appreciate it
I have questions about Masteries.
I’m Mastery Rank 3 (no idea how exactly I got those points). Right now I have 1.270.000/1.270.000 exp and no idea how to get mastery 4 or something, so I can start again my exp from 0. I have only 60% map done so far, so I don’t wanna keep running around the map and exploring new things with all exp going to waste. From each new discovery I get great deal of exp and don’t want to waste it.
So when I press “H” under Masteries I can see 2 tabs: Heart of Maguuma and Central Tyria. I don’t have any points left and wondering how I can earn more points.
