Somebody got beat by a Warrior.
In my opinion this wave of complaints about “end game” are coming mostly from the hard-core “gotta-max-level-asap” crowd who rushed through a game that wasn’t designed to be rushed through.
It’s like opening the box to Monopoly, picking the race car, stacking all the money and properties in front of you and placing hotels all over the place and then complaining that the game is completely lacking in substance.
This game isn’t about stats, so maybe it just isn’t for you.
This is a bad example. This person has done what everyone else is expected to do, whether it be a month or three months. Eventually everyone will come to this point and then what? You’ll have much more people with the same problem.
There is without a doubt a brick wall you hit at 80, where once you complete some of the things you’re left with nothing beneficial to do. Sure there is other things to do but there is no benefit to do them..Naturally people don’t do things that do not benefit themselves.
There is no universal brick wall..it is your own personal brick wall, and it’s your issue that you can’t get past it.
I’ll say it again…I think you need to find a different game if you’re so stuck on this “I need bigger stuff to be motivated” merry-go-round to keep you interested.
Lol, this joke of skill, you should know how to play your class once you reach 80 and all the inner tweaks, combos and such by the time you reach 80. You don’t hit 80 and then have no idea how to play your class then tell yourself “well, I gotta work on my skillz now”.
There doesn’t have to be a grind for gear but there certainly is a wall of no progression once you hit 80 and it’s really turning people off from even logging on anymore. People like to invest their time into one character to see it get better and better and also to compete with others as well. The gear grind is just a form of competition with other players.
Those people should probably find a different game, then.
You “get more powerful” by getting better at playing your character.
That’s fine, but to do that you need a constant flow of content. You can;t be expected to repeat the same.
So it’s a double-edged sword.
Repeat the same what?
You “get more powerful” by getting better at playing your character.
Not sure why this is such a difficult concept to grasp for people.
I already tank for groups as a Guardian.
What is a tank? It is a person who stops the mobs from attacking other people, and is able to soak/absorb the damage that the mob is putting out.
With Walls, and Barriers you can prohibit mob movement quite effectively. With the Aegis Boon, and Blind Condition you can absorb quite a lot of damage. Focusing on specific skills such as Aegis and Blind in your traits, and gearing up for Toughness and Vitality you are in effect, a tank.
Weapon swap to a Hammer, or a Staff will give you the ability to prohibit mob movement. You can think of this as a type of “taunt” because if the mob cannot get to its target, it will turn and attack you instead.
Healers in general are still around too, they just take on different forms. Any class that can remove conditions, toss out the Regeneration Boon, and Blind Condition will significantly negate a large amount of damage done to the “tank” or anyone else for that matter.
When zerging an instance with a PUG of people that all want to just spam their abilities, you will graveyard zerg over and over. But if you have 1 or 2 people that understand how mob control works things go SO much smoother.
Well-said.
As I’ve stated before…it’s mainly because people refuse to learn how to play their character correctly in this game.
People aren’t very smart, also so they can vendor stuff without going to a vendor.
Little do the know the stuff never sells.Remove the ability to put stuff in the TP from anywhere, people would complain, but it needs to be done.
I agree with this. Just being able to use the TP anywhere is making people use it just as a portable vendor. IMO, you should have to visit an NPC to sell or buy.
At first I thought it was a great idea to sell anywhere, now after experiencing it, not really.
Most of the time I laugh at watching somebody come up over a rise with a half dozen mobs chasing them. Cracks me up every time. Then I jump in and try to help them.
Their “kway” pronunciation cracked me up, too.
To say they are doing nothing about it is short-sighted, at best.
The game is young and strats haven’t really been developed yet. Right now it seems everybody’s just hell-bent on hitting 80 and graveyard zerging is the fastest way to do it. Nobody (very general term) seems to be taking time to truly learn their profession and function, whether they are damage, control, or support.
Our guild has really just started doing dungeons and the first time through AC in story mode is our base. Now we are going to work on getting through it in exploration mode in the most efficient way possible by determining what function each of us will fill, builds…etc…
We’re not in any hurry and we’re having fun.
This game isn’t about stats, so maybe it just isn’t for you.
The immense amount of spell effects filling my screen are my biggest obstacle to seeing what the boss is doing and knowing when to dodge. I hear they are working on a slider to reduce particle effects. Hoping this will resolve the issue.
As a guild leader I would like to be able to see how much each individual guild member has contributed to the guild’s reputation points.
Would be a nice feature to have to use as a tool for guild promotions and awards, etc…
This may have been asked before, but I can’t seem to find an answer after a search, but is there a way to see how much rep a guild member has contributed to the guild?

lol, low gpu usage is what’s doing my nut.
This.
I rarely hit above 30% GPU utilization on my 560.
how much cpu does gw2.exe eat up while still being on the login window not ingame for you guys?
my older dual cores all have the problem that the client is already eating up to 50% cpu
only on the login window with no graphics so yeah game runs not really smooth …
I notice the same thing. I will bring the logon window up for GW2 and my CPU sits at a constant 50%. Nothing else running.
Would love to know what it’s doing to eat up 50% of my processor essentially just sitting there waiting for me to type in my username and password.
Yeah, I understand that. But if you have somebody constantly not representing, I’m asking for something that shows the last time they did represent.
I may be missing it, but it doesn’t look like there is a way to track the last time a guild member represented the guild, is there?
That would be a nice feature, IMO.
I have the same processor as you do, Hot, but I have a GTX560 and I can’t get much more than 30% GPU utilization. Some areas I get 35-40 fps, but others I get around 15-18.
I don’t get much more than 15 fps in Divinity.
Changing graphic settings to all low pretty much does nothing to increase the FPS, nor does changing screen resolution. Has me baffled.
