Before entering the room there are some torches on the left wall. Just grab one. Good luck.
Not sure about it, but it seams that finishing doesn’t break stealth.
If that’s the case, then why does a finishing move not count as dealing damage? You emptied the enemies complete downed hp pool with it.
Well, good luck on Far Shiverpeaks. Seems you missed something though.
First: Almost everybody on Desolation took a week off from WvW.
Second: We’ll be in tier 2 next week again.
Doesn’t even matter, you can choose any lower lvl you want in the “enter window”.
IRON taking a week off? I’m pretty sure you only want to do this new dungeon thingy. :P
But good to get some clear facts about your/our future on Desolation.
PS: Mr Hansen will get a golem from me when you announce you’re back from holidays.
To whom it may concern,
There seems to be a great deal of speculation regarding RUIN in Europe, our intentions and objectives.
To set the record strait:
The official position on www.Ruinnation.com details our plans and guild objectives.
For the record an organization by the name of “RUIN GAMING” isn’t particularly concerned with our reputation or arbitrary concepts of “sportsmanship” in a video game. We will act in the best interest of our members regardless of consequences to other guilds. We are not being paid to fight for any particular server. We are not members of any particular alliance. We have no obligations whatsoever.
If Desolation is destroyed by our move this is an unfortunate consequence of their reliance on us.
Ruin has been in the process of moving to Blacktide since the start of this week’s match up.
There have been Ruin members on Blacktide in contact with most of the major guilds there for some time. Most of these members have been ordered not to have Ruin tags represented while we were engaged in transfers.
In regards to Guild Wars 2 Ruin has been in talks with guilds from Blacktide and Far Shiverpeaks (that later joined Blacktide) for several weeks.
We do not claim to be responsible for the Blacktide’s victory in any way. At best only a handful of Ruin members have been on the battlefield on Blacktide, no more than 50-100.
Ruin ultimately plays for enjoyment and entertainment. As everyone should. Our officers and member base put in their maximum effort fighting Vizunah and Arborstone for two weeks putting in often 70-90 hours a week. This was not sustainable. No guild can be expected to cover four zones around the clock indefinitely.
Interesting how everybody from Blacktides seems to not want you. Even more interesting how easy you forget your earlier “we’re here to stay” statement. I believe that other guilds currently on Blacktide have more pride than you and will focus on another server. Moving to Far Shiverpeaks or even bringing a real low-tier server up to the top. Personally I don’t really wanna see them on Desolation, I want fair and equal competition between at least 6 equally strong servers. And i know that Desolation can be a part of this.
You’ve “conquered” EU. Mission accomplished. Now move back to your US ladder already or even better move on to another game.
PS: Desolation will definitely not be destroyed by such a shameful and cheap joke of a community as RUIN.
Actually, I don’t care for the points being contested while in stealth. What I care for is dying because of the unstealth-bug. I thought this would have been fixed by now.
And this is not an issue of l2p, I know how to counter it. It’s simply said just luck to “tab” the thief right from the start because you simply don’t see him.
The thief doesn’t need a nerf, the rendering needs a fix.
There is a statement about this and it’s pretty old (August 16, 2012).
By default, we display the worlds that are hosted in your regional data center, but you will be able to select a home world from either region at this time. So, for example, if you are a European player who prefers to play on the North American worlds, you’re free to do so.

VS and AS alliance (lasted 24h only true story) was set up only because we really thought you were over 9000.
Last time I checked there was this thing called server limit. So, if you got a queue you can be pretty sure you have the same number or even more then the enemy. Your argument for this poor alliance is bad and you should feel bad.
And I have seen strange things later in the week: Deso attacking some AS-owned Garrison outer watergate, VS group comes in, stops the small group of Deso-players and retreats. The gate was below 50% by that time. This retreat must be some kind of logic only understandable to french people.
Well, might have been people who accidently changed to the wrong server and couldn’t waste our supplies.
Resurrect ALL the players. Endless battles!
Sounds like fun. How many keep lords did you revive while being in there?
I’m a late-night Desolation player from europe. Arborstone is really not present at night and often has the outmanned buff, but so does Desolation on at least two borderlands every night. Which only leaves one party with a really strong night force. The impact of RUIN is highly overestimated.
I’m really happy about coming in second the week. It’s good for Desolation and will keep the motivation really high for the coming week. The fights this week have been really good.
I guess next week we will see even more of Arborstone. They have already shown that they can beat VS and my guess is, that they will try it next week.
The funny thing about VS is, that they run from or loose fights when the numbers are even and they die really fast. But from what I’ve seen that’s also a form of tactic. Everywhere you go you see dead french corpses lying around reporting enemy movement.
Ok, I had to watch the video again now. There was a bunch of guilds there as it seems. And, yes only anet can do something about the bugged orb, but still the TOS clearly says:
You will not exploit any bug in Guild Wars 2 … (bugs that grant the user unnatural or unintended benefits)
So, that was what I was refering to. Every Kodash player does this for some time now. I might add, that your video also shows that the acting player has an “unintended benefit” by having the orb buff without his server actually having an orb. I really hope he doesn’t get banned for this.
You will not exploit any bug in Guild Wars 2 and you will not communicate the existence of any such exploitable bug (bugs that grant the user unnatural or unintended benefits) either directly or through public posting, to any other user of Guild Wars 2.
I really hope you have reported the person responsible for this. Now, you might calm down and look forward to the next days and fights. If you really intend to take part in WvW for the rest of the week. Because by taking advantage of the bugged orb in Desolation borderlands every Kodash player knowingly violates the TOS.
Serious? Try a borderland. Do you want to fight or do you need map completion? If this is about map completion: Wait in line, someone has to clean the map for you before you can go everywhere. Otherwise you would start crying about how unfair this game is.
Today was game reset, so what do you think is going to happen?
Sleeping Xaoc? Looks awake to me, well dead now.
tl;dr. Welcome RUIN/Ruin/ruin. And this week was awesome so far. I don’t really care for the overall points as long as the fighting is good and you see an overall strategy. And this week I finally see it (more or less successful) on all servers.
I mostly play on borderlands and rarely see larger groups of ruin players, it’s mostly IRON/GG/FG. The same bunch that was there the last weeks. Oh and never forget MI.
What if I told you the servers were specifically catagorized under Europe and America?
Does this also mean I have to play on a “DE” server only because I’m german? EU/NA only gives indications about server location. Otherwise no south americans, australians or you name it where allowed to play this game.
My point: If everybody in a matchup does “night capping” then there is “night fighting”. It’s as easy as that.
Grats to Blacktide for getting the orb on Augury Rock Borderlands. Our keep with the orb were attacked by Augury Rock and everything was under control. No outer gate breached, no walls down. Next thing i know: The orb is suddenly in Blacktides Keep. Well that’s magic!
Would be nice if we could fight for one week against an honorable enemy.
Might be unrelated to the current invisibility problem but you can see “late appearing characters” simply by running around the mystic forge in lions arch. This is also annoying.
I don’t get it. Badges are not soulbound and coin isn’t soulbound either. So what’s the point in blueprints being it?
Berserker's Destroyer Greatsword crafted into Valkyrie Destroyer Greatsword

Don’t know if it is fixed. But if you want a Berserkers Greatsword I’d recommend the mystic forge. It’s way cheaper.
I would say either a limit in numbers of use or just plain and simple: The portal gets the same restrictions as every other shadowstep in the game. Or why can’t a thief use Infiltrator’s Arrow to get on a wall? It’s even called Infiltration.
WvW: Larger group wins, night-capping group wins. Which is OK, in the real world the larger, more active army mostly also wins. But having a larger army, a larger territory to watch over should also come with a prize.
If NPCs would be completely removed from WvW zerging would almost not be possible.
A group of 50-100 people, after taking a tower couldn’t just move on. Well they could, but the gates would still be open, people would need to build up what they just teared down. Which would be way more realistic. How stupid is it, that you are, out of a sudden, locked into some tower only because the enemy managed to get hold for a defined amount of time of a defined area in that tower?
A tower should belong to the side that has total control of it. No enemy in it and also occupied by someone. If the last leaves, well it’s an abandoned ship. Free to take for whoever knocks in the doors. Well perhaps the last known server has a key and can use the doors, but beside that there is no advantage of “owning” that tower. (Perhaps not even points?)
Supply camps would be neutral, with an amount of dolyaks in the stable. You can’t just cap it, but you “rent” that dolyak and escort it to it’s final destination. Dolyaks would need an actual escort to find the way. A camp could still belong to one side, but this side would need people hanging around.
Taking responsibility for something as a guild would actually mean something, besides getting your banner up there and giving some NPC some useless buff. And even small groups could do something important like “renting” a yak and get it safely to it’s destination. Bigger groups would take responsibility for bigger infrastructure.
in it’s current form it’s only about who has more people at a given time on a map and who did more damage to this or that npc/gate. All the rest is unrewarding even though it might be fun.
The often stated, you can do important things as a small group is simply unrewarded by the game. Escorting and protecting a dolyak? Rewards? Nothing. Babysit a tower, build up infrastructure? Just costs coin and leaves you with the feeling that you missed the fight about that camp over there, where you might have gotten some badges, coin, xp and karma.
I was sitting on watch at a tower (Greenbriar at a foreign borderland, right next to our entry point) the other day for like 2 hours. Bought some upgrades, told people when enemies passed. It was fun, but in the end I just spend coin and had some nice talk. And that’s where the game fails to reward me.
So, now my thoughts on how rewards should work. The whole WvW-System is build around points which are given each server after an defined amount of time. And that’s the way player rewards should also work. Players don’t only get rewards right after they did some capping or such, but also after the server gets it’s points for the current cycle. The question is, how much impact did each player have to achieve this points?
Example 1: I cap a supply camp. Now this has two impacts on the world. First, cut off supplies for enemies, second I might have secured supplies for my side. The reward for the cut off supplies is the reward I would get directly. What I don’t get directly is the reward for securing supplies for my side. Because they are only “secured” not used in any way. So the reward after the countdown could be based on how many supplies were taken/used/transported from that camp since I secured it and we held it.
Example 2: We cap a tower/keep/castle and I sit watch afterwards. I build up infrastructure and simply just look out for enemies. The capping can be directly rewarded. That other thing is a bit tricky to reward. Building up things is simple: for every supply I “invest” in keeping that tower I get a reward. And supply should also mean coin in this place. It should be rewarded, that I actually reinforced the thing. Sitting watch alone is difficult, but just being present should count as being active. In the real world every tower had/has it’s people on station. Not just NPC’s, real people, able to communicate. (Bots are not my problem, it’s yours.)
Example 3: Reward-Distribution for capping: There are big problems with supporting roles. I think that for “buffing” chars you are already working on a solution. What I am talking about are the people building up infrastructure for a siege. For a trebuchet there are 100 supplies needed, still only the one firing it gets his share in the reward. But where is my reward if I play a pure runner? I run to the camp get supplies, get back to the battlefield building something, run back, and move on to the next place where supply is needed. Doing this I would actually do even more, I would also secure routes between these two places. Give me some reward for that.
Just my thoughts.
I often come across strange “borders” i cannot pass. The example in the screen is in Lions Arch, north of the mystic forge. In this example, if I zoom in a bit I can see another carpet to my left.
This is not a question of graphic details, already tried it there.
With jumping puzzles this gets really annoying. Sometimes I just simply don’t see things which are there.
Perhaps posting this here makes things a bit faster: 120902-00304
To make it short, i finally put something up for sale. My prize was 4g36s. The fee listed was 21s80c. Now after selling it i only get 3g92s4c.
Seems like i paid the fee twice. Is this a bug or do i just have to keep this in mind when selling stuff? A bit annoying.
edit: typo in the prize.
