…But how many of them actually get a precursor from it?

Since most people do dragon/boss events in hope of an easy precursor,but it does not seems like it,I’ve never seen someone get a precursor from world bosses,maybe once when a guy linked Zap after Maw,but he could be just trolling…(people link The Legend all the time on The Shatterer,and I don’t think shatterer chest drops precursors)

Actually,the only world boss that I think can drop a precursor is Jormag,or he at least have the highest chance,since he doesnt have his own “exotic” (SB: Final Rest,The Shatterer: Kralkatorrik Breath,etc..)

You can see people getting precursors from the Mystic forge everyday,and like 500~ (random number) people try it compared to thousand people farming events.

My point: There is less people using the MF for precursors,but they get it more often than A LOT of people farming world events,unless someone can prove me wrong.

I could finish Arah p3 once again with a team with 2 guardians,2 mesmers (1 was me) and 1 necro,it was a very smooth run,thanks for the 4 other players being very experienced. (took like 50 minutes ~ compared to 2 hours on my first time)

Now I only have 3 runs to go! Today since the daily already reset,I’ll try to get a run on my Warrior,Mesmer and then my Elementalist or thief!

So,I want to get the beautiful Arah leggings for my Warrior,but people kind of scared me with “ARAH IS THE HARDEST DUNGEON OMGGGG!!!” and such,so today I decided that I wanted the leggings,and that I should give Arah a try.

My P3 group had 3 first timers,1 did that path once I think,and the last one was kind of an expert already (he had full Arah set,and teached us the fights etc)

That run took like 2 HOURS with 2 wipes at Lupicus.

I almost gave up getting my leggings because of that (seriously,2 hours? for 60 tokens…still need 5 more runs)

But then I tried another group and…we couldn’t get past the FIRST group of illusionists,yes,the FIRST group,it was wipe after wipe,then I gave up.

I want some tips of which groups I should be looking for (Mesmers,Guardians,Thieves,Necros,etc..) and how to not wipe easily like that…

PS: I have a Warrior,Mesmer and Elementalist ,which one would be the best in Arah?

Also,zerker gear isn’t needed in Arah,right? I’m using Knights on my Warrior (with zerk trinkets)

As you can see,I’m not the only one having lag issues,and it can’t be my ISP (but I admit,they are bad) but this isn’t their fault this time because as you can see people are having problems with different ISPs,and from different countries.

It was fine/no lag at all less than 1 week ago.

The game only becomes playable after 11:00 PM UTC-3,and even after 11PM I still get some lag (rubberbanding) on big events like The Shatterer,Orr events,etc…

Aaaaaand the lag is back.

After reading this thread,and my guild mate getting 3 precursors on the same night I tried my luck and got Zap,but the money I made with that is long gone because I tried to get The Hunter afterwards…silly me.

Lets say you have 500g,and waste like 450g trying to get a precursor on the mystic forge (just an example) and you don’t get it,selling the exotics back gets you some of the money back,but you still lost 250~ gold or so,what do you do?

Guild mate got Dusk and Leaf of Kudzu today,in like 30 minutes.

I tried to get Zap just minutes after him and flushed 150g down the mystic toilet.

This is a huge let down for me :\

Best: Divinity’s Reach,most human areas.

Worst: Charr areas,especially The Black citadel.

Goshh,that city makes me feel hot (in a bad way lol),just imagine how it feels to be in a city made of metal in the middle of the desert.

Also,about the forest part.

I remember in EotN from GW1,there was a place with a REAL forest,it was near the Drakkar lake I think,just before you get into the Asuran area,it was a forest full of dolyaks walking in large groups,it was beautiful.

I don’t know which rune is better (Scavenging,Pirate,Traveler..) or even orbs.

Can someone with the highest MF possible post their armor set / runes ?

We can still have wings in this game,we just need a Living Story about some mob with wings (but not Harpy pls,they have ugly wings)

If they aren’t afraid of making huge backpacks (the jetpack and the one from Lost Shores are big) then wings are nothing for them.

Maybe when Tengu is released we can get some flying mobs,hopefully white flying mobs,because I want a white or black wing,not brown or something.

Come on ArenaNet,we need angel wings,awake that Aion spirit inside you and release wings for GW2 !!!

I like this thread,make me feel less bad about myself.

I’m always hate myself because of one thing:

When I get “a lot” (for me) of money,I never spend it on something useful.
I always try to gamble it trying to double the gold or something,like spending gold on TP buying rare greatswords trying to get Dusk from MF (500+ greatswords,no dusk of course)

Buying a lot of unid dyes trying to get abyss,I always lose like 20g+ trying that.

I only have 2 characters that I use a lot (Mesmer and Warrior) and they already have full exotic gear etc,so I don’t really have anything to spend on them,thats why I keep wasting it on gambling.

And of course,when I lose all this money that took me a whole week to farm,I get depressed because I have to get it all back

I was bored with my old Mesmer look so I used a hairstyle kit and changed her armor.

Also,someone asked about the pieces I was using on my Mesmer a while back (pag.10) and I just saw that PM now (I read the forum everyday,but I never login so :P..)

It was:

Human T2 Cultural chest
The “Scarf” is Vigil mantle
Cabalist leggings
Named gloves
Human T2 Cultural boots

PS: I will get a updated picture of my Mesmer when I login,she one I just posted is using the old colors,I changed it a bit.
Also,I will get new gloves (or boots) after I get my tokens >< and I will update it

So,I’m still lv40 and I have the second trait book and 30 points to spend,but I don’t know where I should put these points.

Usually I always put them in Power (first line) and precision (second line) while leveling other professions,but my Ranger is different because:

I have the sylvari cultural armor,so it gives me only precision and condition damage,so I went to the condition damage build,which doesn’t benefit from the first trait line (power)

But if I put 20 points in the first line I can get Piercing Arrows which looks good for PvE since I use shortbow and there is no AoE to tag mobs in events for the EXP etc (like the Modniir event in Harathi Hinterlands,I can’t tag more than 3 mobs with shortbow on the first part of the event,sad )

The trait line that gives condition damage is the worst IMO,no useful traits for PvE,so I think that 20 points in “Wilderness Survival” would be useless for me now.

tl;dr: My armor set gives precision and condition damage,but I would like to get the power and precision trait lines instead of the Wilderness Survival trait line which gives condition damage and would make my build stronger.

Also,what is better overall,Condition damage or Power/Crit Ranger in PvE?

What do you guys think?

Thanks for the answer guys,I got Lynx now and I think he is the best for my build right now,and I’ll keep the hawk until I see a better pet.
I’m still leveling my ranger,I don’t have a lot of pets yet,I want to catch them as I see them,but the Lynx I really wanted him so I went after him :P

But I have a question about PvP in the end of this post

if i remember correctly the lynx is in the 40 to 50 zone just south of hoelbrak.
just exit the south end of hoelbrak then start heading south west and should run into one pretty quick. there is a snow owl in that area also, over on the east side.

Yeah,thanks to ArenaNet the best looking bear isn’t used by bots and it is actually stronger than others,must…get…him,gotta catch em’ all afterall,right? :P

Why Drakes are broken? Broken as in OP or broken because some skill just don’t work?

…Very likely the worst pets to use in PvE.

I love pets,its one of the reasons that I created a Ranger (I don’t like Sylvari but I love their cultural armors so…) but the pets I like to use are one of the worst to use in PvE,at least thats what I think.

I like Fern Hound just because it reminds me of Amaterasu from Okami,but I kinda like the special ability too (regeneration,also he can knock down for 2 seconds)

Second…Eagles. I love these birds,they just look cool and the hawk kinda fits my armor :P

Third: Wolves,I like them.

I want the Lynx too,but I haven’t found them yet.

But to the point:
The best pets in PvE are ranged (spider,devourers,etc..) and the bear,right?

I just don’t like the idea of using a weaker pet while everyone is running around with their OP bear,but I don’t want the bear…
1st: Because everyone uses them
2nd: Bear is used by botters lol,bears have a bad reputation in my book

I don’t know if all exotics from it are account bound,but from the 5 exotics I got from it they were all account bound

I know it have a chance to drop from mobs (since they do drop non account bound exotics,got 2 random bows from the harpies) but what about boss chests?

Since thousand people farm fractals everyday and I’ve never seen a thread about a precursor from fractal,It’s almost sure they don’t drop from fotm chests right?

Arcane Thievery is great against the jellyfish in fractals,she gets 25 stacks of might when she “eats” someone,you can steal it and have fun :P

On topic:

I don’t use any mantras or signets at all,they are boring.

Instead of listing the skills I never use,I will list the ones I use instead,its faster:

? Blink
? Arcane Thievery – Only underwater
? Feedback
? Null Field

The worst thing about this is because Null field is needed in almost all fractals,but I just can’t stop using Decoy…I will try it tonight though.
Also,I want to change my utilities when needed but I never remember to do it before the fight,so…when we start the boss and I still have portal sometimes it just sux. >.>

but yeah,I will try it,because if I think about it,decoy never breaks aggro for me,and what kills me is always AoE not direct attack,so decoy is pretty useless actually. (but the stun break is great)

For my utility skills I always use Blink,Decoy and Feedback,but do you guys think it’s overkill to use 2 defensive skills for utilities?

I can’t live without blink,but I like decoy too,but should I remove decoy or not? because I don’t really think I need 2 skills to break stun,but decoy is such a great skill to break aggro too. ><

I’m starting to do fractals on my Mesmer and I think I should buy exotic trinkets now since I don’t want to be a burden to my team.

What is the best weapon when you are killing a single target like Mad king?

I know Shortbow is good for AoE damage,but what is the best single target DPS weapon?
Some people say sword/dagger is the best,but I don’t know…sword feels very weak to me.
