Thank you for number 3 as well. I see so many people get frustrated when they call out “incoming 15 to BlueBriar” and no one responds or replies.

Then they get upset and feel like they were left out to dry. When actually everyone else was trying to defend Bay. (Which we all know is more important)

When they are the “1” in BlueBriar and it falls, it is hard to swallow if they do not know what is going on.

Pretend for a moment you are a newbie to WvW or you are just trying to get some tactical/better understanding of how to play it.

You pop on the WvW forum as many people do and start browsing the posts. What do you learn?

This sever cheats, this server only zergs, We are better but not enough numbers….

Heck look at the stickies even, the only thing we have is how to keep score, when the reset happens, and night capping… That is sad.

Day after day I hear both commanders and veterans of WvW complain about how the “Randoms” do not know how to play and hurt us. But yet we do not try to teach or put our knowledge out there.

I challenge us as a community to start adding some good threads on tactics, general gameplay and ways to help all of us get better.

People say they want more small groups. Make a thread telling of the synergies of classes for those, possible builds, strats to use. Let people know that the badge drop rates seem to be higher in a smaller group. Get people excited about trying it.

I would love more info on seige. Where to put trebs, what they can hit from each spot.

Once we put the work in and get those threads, we need to challenge ANET to acutually sticky something in here that will be helpful.

Just an observation, i think we are missing what this forum should be about.

The only post on the first 3 pages that actually tries to help people in WvW understand how to play and get better. No responses and probably lasted on the 1st page for about 30 minutes.

I too play on the opposing server. I can tell you from experience these guys are tenacious. I do not know what WvW would be like without these guys being on the other side (its always been that way since I started WvW)

You should consider them if you are looking for a home.

LOL @ Dred, 3 servers into 1 guild??? How are you going to talk ANET into increasing the guild max limit.

Since we are talking pipe dreams.

It should be all the WvW guilds not just the big ones Each server responsible for 1 BL and split some forces on EB.

I doubt a merger could ever be possible….but it probably would be unstoppable.

Your auto attacks and or rams do no damage to walls. 0. If you see no numbers, then you are not damaging it. You are only making swords appear on the map.

And a plague of locusts will appear in thine wrecktom.

I agree with what you guys are saying…. but…

The numbers were not in DR’s favor until Sunday afternoon EST. We had the outmanned buff part of Friday night and Saturday morning in our BL. We still were able to hold it close which I am very proud that we were able to.

All 3 servers are doing work Those times we were outmanned showed us just how unorganized we are and that we have a lot further to go. Also told us who has the right mentality and who panicked and was negative. Sadly we failed a lot, but hopefully we are smart enough to learn from it.

Yeah you are right sry I did read more into it than I should have. You guys were unbelievable in the Lords Room at Hills. We had to have out numbered you 3-1 and it still took 10 minutes. How dang many hammer Gaurdians were with you lol Jezz Slam Slam Slam…I was bouncing all over the place. I finally just went up on the second teir and AoE’d lol

I really wish we could figure out why you guys lose so many people all at once during the week. We went from fighting serveral 20 man groups this weekend (as in probably 4 or 5 between you and Ferg) in our BL, to just how ever many you guys had at hills last night. We seriously could not make much headway until yesterday afternoon.

We do have some zerg commanders. The trick is to know who they are and use them as a distraction. A good small group can do a lot while the zerg is occupying the attention.

I have to correct some of your post as it is a little off.

We had some very good fights with NoQQ last night in DRBL, but it was not a 60 MAN ZERG as you stated, at least not while we were fighting them. We sent the zerg away from them and told them to handle taking the towers and supply.

We scouted and follwed them for an hour, we had a group of about 15. They wiped us several times, and we got them several times. We had scouts following them and worked very hard at cutting them off. It was a lot of fun. Those guys are very tough to deal with.

I am not sure the “lightning” excuse holds up for the Hills either. You were out of supply and could not repair anything. We built a balista and cata on the bridge and slowly took you down after getting in. Now you are correct you beat us back the first 2 times, and I give you much credit for that. Then the fight in the lords room was epic.

Not trying to argue, it just really would be nice if you didnt try to discredit everything DR does and chalk it up to….you guys just 60 man zerged everything.

I know you probably dont care about a DR opinion but I can tell you what we saw from our side.

Starting at reset Friday Kain and Ferg both had huge numbers. You guys had as many or more in WvW as DR.

We actually a few times had the outmanned buff in our own BL.

Then somewhere around 1pm est on Sunday you guys disappeared. I mean it was weird. It was obvious you guys lost about half of your force.

I have no idea what happened at SM, I caught wife aggro and had to put up the Christmas tree…sigh.

Thanks for the fights this weekend (and kicking our kittens) it was a blast.

Spawn camping is kinda sad, balistas and arrowcarts at spawns. Classy.

Hopefully we can turn this around and no one retuns that favor.

I hear ya. I was streaching it just a bit, but I am sure it would happen somewhere.

It is mostly just in the keeps and Garrison that it gets annoying. When you only play WvW and nothing else the Gold doesn’t roll in very fast. Losing seige you dropped to try and hold them is not fun.

If they did not disappear so often (on their own without being attacked which is soooo annoying) I would have them every 5 feet in our BL lol

What I think is funny is that everyone pounces when it is a “Guild” looking to move servers but not when it is a person and his/her friend.

Yesterday it was a guild and there were 54 responses from people begging them to come, Space Turtle has 5 so far

You should check out the bottom bracket teams. All 3 servers are very competitive and working hard to improve. I am sure we all would welcome you.

Agreed, I would say the same about seeing Envy and feeling the same, but I am always dead before I get that feeling. I only see their guild tag from the downed state

It really was a lot of fun in WvW last night, even though we were getting our kitten kicked in DR BL. We had a 5 man group with 1 level 50 and the rest were in the 20’s. TS errupted with cheers with any kills we were lucky enough to get lol.

It’s amazing to remember again just how hard the lords actually hit a level 23 dress wearer.

Nah we are not preppin for higher tiers, almost everyone I saw last night was leveling alts. It was actually kind of fun to have 25 copper repair bills

Aimac, PRO does do something about it. That is why I told you to PM Dred In your PM though you have to give a name or it will not carry any weight. You cant teach someone if you do not know who needs the lesson.

At low levels, your possible upgrades in toughness and Vit. are very small. Someone in full exotics will still 90% of the time kill you 1 on 1. Thats why I went with all the nets and swiftness. It doesnt always make you a coward if you run away lol

Low levels can be just as important to the team as anyone else. Carrying supply and building when needed… Following (good) commanders and helping with the team objectives. Your grenade AOE is great in taking/defending keeps and towers.

So you arent the best one on one….WvW isn’t a one on one game.

Sinfully, let me start by saying I am no where near an expert I actually am medium skilled at best. I can only tell you how I did it and that it was very fun.

I leveled in WvW Grenade and Rifle. I used grenades whenever possible to AOE, and when caught alone I used the rifle. Net shot is a godsend when trying to stall or get away. Knockback shot will also buy you some time, jumpshot will either get you more distance or do some decent damage. This was just my preference.
I also (when you unlock more skill slots and your elite skill) ran with net turret and supply crate. Which together gives you 2 more nets. lol Thats a lot of snares to be able to command.

With all of these snares and “Get out of jail free” cards, I went damage on my upgrades.

Speedy kits are incredible-full time swiftness from switching kits

I know that was probably too much rambling, but I wanted to explain why I went damage (power) on my upgrades. CC made it possible due to the other options I was using.

The main thing is have fun with whatever you try Engis will never be the best at anything, but we are pretty good at many of them.

SPVP is the other way, sounds like what you were looking for when you accidentally clicked WvW.

Totally agree, and we will probably see more if it ever stops despawning after it is built. We built a ton in Hills last night, about 30 minutes later it starts getting attacked and we ran back. 1 ballista and 1 arrow cart left. Everything else was gone.

I am not sure. I didn’t join until about 3 weeks ago and they were already on DR. I by no means am a guild officer so not sure what/if they have tried.

The bad part is as Balidore said, I am not sure there is much that can be done about cleaning up the people on other servers.

Guilds getting split happens a lot actually. Over half of PRO is still on GOM. If we ever end up in the same bracket it will be strange.

If anything raise it to 5 Worlds and add more BL’s and another EB to each matchup.

I must say I am not a “carrot on a stick” guy. I fully enjoy WvW for what it is and think playing it should be reward enough.

However,

I support this idea. It doesnt have to be anything big…maybe blueprints etc…
also would be nice for some sort of guild reward/recognition as well.

It would get people to upgrade more often and improve the battles.

I finally see you and RevC in Eb last night. I think it was near ogre, I was running by some randoms and saw a fight under an archway, looked to be about 10 on 15 or so. I see the NOQQ tags and start checking for names, sure enough there are you and RevC.

Both sides kinda aoe the archway awhile and I was like OK thats enough I have to get atleast one hit on them lol

I charged through the archway and died of course soon afterwards, tabbed around and you guys were gone

I was so hoping to get my treb lol

Anyways, at least I saw you guys for a few.

We were lucky to split your forces or it would have been curtains for us. Then we are catapulting the side wall of Woodhaven and half of the randoms decide to auto attack the front gate too….wow. All the while you guys were killing them from the flank.

We finally get the wall down, you guys have more AOE raining down on the opening than I have ever seen, and we have to scream in /s to stop auto attacking the front as the WALL IS DOWN ON THE SIDE…

None of that mattered actually, I was mad because I spilt my beer IRL yelling to them… Now that was the real tragedy. I apologize Mr.Adams for wasting your wonderful gift.

No I actuatually logged right after we stopped the Garrison push ;( 5am comes early and I had to get some sleep.

I readily admit that at times Dred may (multiply a few numbers) for entertainment purposes lol

But last night around 10pm EST there were around 30 or so Kains between wood and garrison. DR had about that many as well.

Kain had taken Wood (and most of the rest of DR BL) and was attacking our Garrison as well.

Not saying you were there, but there were several NOQQ there. It was an awesome 30 minute battle. We had the advantage and probably won because we spawned much closer to the battle.

As for top 10 on 10, I would not qualify, but you tell your number 41 ranked player I am waiting any time

I think anytime this is said you should be able to attack your own team. These people need to be hunted and wiped from the maps.

As long as people are trying to actually help I am good with it.

Yeah because a few badges, a ton of karma and XP, and the fun of killing people is all just a waste. Did you even pick up your loot bags? Hard to believe you lost 15 silver unless you got killed a lot.

Now you will never get rich in WvW, but you really should not be losing money without doing a lot of upgrades or buying a a lot of seige.

Everyone plays when they can. Everyone has times when they are the zerg capturing the world, and other times when they are doing solo suicide runs to try and kill a cata pelting your keep. Its the ebb and flow of WvW.

Characters make the game different. Dred and his story telling. Miteous and his chest beating best player in the game routine.

A brilliant prank of dropping rams on people.

Others remarks that show their server pride in some form or another.

None of these are my personal style, but I get enjoyment out of all of them.
Think about it folks, this makes the game more interesting. We are enemys, we fight tooth and nail. I at time curse you at my monitor, and other times laugh at how silly we all are.

Don’t take things too seriously folks and enjoy yourself no matter what.
