@ the OP:

In fuedal Japan, it was common for the upper class men and women to bathe together. I don’t mean swim, with trunks and suits, but bathe in full nudity.

However, it was also considered rude and/or immoral to deliberately show a man the back of a woman’s neck (as one would do in the act of turning away to hide your breasts.)

In our times, in some middle eastern and arab countries, it is immoral (and in some cases illegal) to show your hair…or any of the human form…or the face…. and yet, as “westerners” we do this every day.

The issue seems to be that you (personally) and some others believe this armor is (in your own words) immature, tacky, trashy, and makes one look like a hooker.

I applaud your ability to speak out and defend your opinion, but the fact remains that it is just that… an opinion.

When I first set eyes on this armor back in in the beginning of the game, I absolutely had to have it. Hands down, in my opinion, it is some of the most beautiful and artistic armor in the game.

So, while I respect your opinion (which is truly what this whole thread is about) I disagree wholeheartedly with you.

I enjoy everything you said here. I didn’t know that little fact about Japan.
Peoples opinions will differ greatly depending on the subject. When it comes to skin unfortunately, the subject can be very taboo. Which is sad, really, when you consider how beautiful the human body is. It all depends on the context in which it’s used.
So this character has a visible underboob, perhaps it is not the persons fault who put it on their character, but the persons fault who finds it improper for thinking negatively of it. When I see skin I don’t think bad things like “that’s disgusting” or “that looks trashy.” I think either “I wouldn’t wear it” or “I like it.” Perhaps those who see these sorts of things as bad should reevaluate their opinions. Why is it “trashy.” Is it because you’re looking at it sexually and not artistically? Then that is your own fault.
I’m not shunning OP for having an opinion, nor am I anyone else who agrees. Just that when things like this are so heavily debated, you may want to allow your thoughts to fully blossom instead of jumping to the first conclusion that it’s bad or explicit.

Let’s see if my message gets removed for having an opinion again.

Although I do agree to an extent, you have to bear in mind a few things when saying this. Such as;
You do not have to buy that outfit – as you’ve already stated.
Women have breasts. You do not need to look at them. You are in control of your own eyes.
And the human body is beautiful.
Not everyone who uses this outfit will be using it because they appreciate the female form. Some may be using it because it excites them. But there’s nothing wrong with that so long as you don’t project those desires on to real world women. As a species, we’re sexual. We have pleasure with sex which the vast majority of species have not been granted.
Not to mention, what is it exactly that makes underboob more taboo than cleavage? It’s all a very touchy subject because it will vary greatly depending on the person you’re talking to.
I myself, find that male outfits are equally revealing. And could just as easily be equated to explicit and unnecessary. It all comes down to the fact that so long as people understand this is a video game and not real life, which I’m almost certain the majority do understand- then there is little harm being done.

If you really want a subject to stir the pot, you can go research the controversy surrounding the “Elin” from TERA. Which, in my opinion, makes a lot more sense to be upset over. Skin is fine and in many cases complimentary. I enjoy my characters to be wearing somewhat revealing clothing (although as I’ve said I do somewhat agree, which is why I don’t wear the human T3 cultural set). But when it’s on a body like the Elin’s, things can get out of hand fast…

Remove ability to res finished players.

in WvW

Posted by: SpellOfIniquity.1780

SpellOfIniquity.1780

I’ve seen this suggested before and I’m still not in favor of it. While I agree with and understand what people are saying, I still feel that it’s rarely an issue. People who are selfish enough to stay dead will usually end up getting more of their own players killed. There are times when mass ressing happens, yes. And I definitely think something should be done about the time someone is able to stay dead for people who like to spy. But otherwise I just don’t see it as much of a problem.
I know that when an enemy zerg is attacking a tower for example, and I kill a few enemies with an arrow cart, I’ll immediately spam that dead enemy with a ton of arrows the second I see people trying to res them and bam, free kills because they usually can’t evade fast enough. Just take advantage of it instead of watching it happen. When someone, or a few people, are trying to res a buddy run over and stop them.

WvW and Ascended Stats Snowball

in WvW

SpellOfIniquity.1780

The issue I have Ascended gear is Laurels, there is far to many currencies in GW2. I hate that I’m forced to do Dailies/Monthlies in order to get Laurels which are needed to gear up, I just want to WvW without feeling like I have to complete some random crap I have no interest in doing.

Badges of Honor are the WvW currency and have been from day 1, why does Anet feel we need to earn more types of currencies for the aspect of the game that we enjoy ? Make Acsended cost a repulsive amount of Badges for all I care just get rid of the Laurel cost.

I was too lazy to read through the rest of the posts on this thread but I agree with this.
There are way too many kitten currencies in this game, it’s really unnecessary. Karma, honor, gold, glory, good enough. We don’t need any more than those ones right there. Although you can earn laurels from WvW by doing dailies, which usually consist of gathering defending, or killing other players, it’s still a pain to have to need that currency in order to get some ascended items.

Dredge is 80 % Xenofobic theyre blinded by their hatred of the dwares that kept them in slavery for many hundred years. and they’re already in an alliance you might not talk about the molten alliance but the drege that is not flameish or got molten in their name is still a part of the alliance. They hate everyone but scarlet and flame legion. Scarlet is godly at manipulating. which stops the dredge from being a choice for you guys

Personally id go for somthing like the zephyrites as they’re peaceful and lives on a beautiful airship full of parkour (i play a thief that fits parkour) And they’re related to the crystal desert and glint !:) They would be really useful with their magic and large ship + general knowledge.

It was really unnecessary to disprove those of us who have said we would side with the dredge, you know. If I weren’t so lazy I’d happily ruin your fun, too.

Prob dredge. They are abundant, organized, powerful and for the most part, united.

Largos are good, but not abundant enough.
Skritt have glaring weaknesses.
Nighmare court turn on each other.
Flame legion are too extremist.

This is pretty much how I feel. Plus the ones that you can speak to seem pretty genuine. Which indicates to me that they would have each others backs in times of danger.
I just think they’re an overall awesome race.

Imho, you’re not SUPPOSED to complete everything in an MMO anyway. They’re massive, massive games with hundreds upon hundreds of things to do. Releasing new content every few weeks isn’t because they expect you to complete it it’s because they want to keep you entertained even if you’ve somehow managed to complete everything else.
And if you HAVE completed everything else, in this MMO or any other, you may want to get some sun.

So I say enjoy the content and if you don’t manage to complete it it’s not the end of the world.

Please fix the backpack clip

in Engineer

Posted by: SpellOfIniquity.1780

SpellOfIniquity.1780

I’m huge on aesthetics, but in MMO’s I understand that appearances aren’t the dev’s main concern. So generally speaking, when clothing, hair, etc. are clipping, I’ll get used to it because it probably won’t be changed.

But the clipping with the backpacks really needs to be looked at… It’s right in your face and it’s incredibly hard to ignore when the Engineer is so heavily defined by it’s kits. If for instance I’m wearing the “Universal Multitool Pack”, when I swap to bombkit or elixir gun, the two backpacks will clip in to each other. Thus making me not want to wear back items at all, even though I really enjoy the look of the Multitool pack.

Though I doubt this will be addressed any time soon, if at all; I, and I’m sure the many other engineers out there, would greatly appreciate it if it were fixed.

If you could side with an un-playable race, who would you choose and why?

I would personally side with the Dredge. I love their technology, their lore and their people. Although the name escapes me at the moment, there was a time when my I spoke to one who was very coherent. I think they’re somewhat misunderstood, and if I were to be fighting the dragons, I’d want a species to back me that can summon more of their own just by sending soundwaves through the ground.

Frustrations and thoughts of a new player

in WvW

Posted by: SpellOfIniquity.1780

SpellOfIniquity.1780

Frustration comes in kind with anything involving large groups of people and trying to keep them organized. People just don’t function the same way ants or bees do. And when it comes to video games, you have to remember that there’s a high possibility of having other players, if not many other players, that are young and probably have a short attention span. I agree it’s overwhelmingly depressing when you sink your entire night in to upgrading a tower or keep just to have it taken by a small group, but the longer you play WvW the more you’ll learn it’s not always something you can prevent. People want their WXP and for the majority of them they could care less what is or isn’t being taken as long as it’s they that are taking it.

My best advice would be;
If you’re going to play defense remember to also play scout. While running supplies, upgrading or escorting yaks, what ever it may be you’re doing to protect your servers land, always relay information back to your team. What is or isn’t upgraded, where enemies are, etc. You won’t always have the cavalry come storming through to save the day if you shout out that the keep is under attack. But the times they do they’ll have you to thank for having eyes where they didn’t.
It’s also important to remember that this is a game. And if you’re finding what you’re doing is feeling more like work than fun, you should consider playing something else. I’m not saying that in a a rude manner, just that video games are about having fun not about working. Some of us enjoy defending, some of us enjoy scouting, roaming, zerging. It all depends on the person. And if you feel that losing land you’ve put time in to upgrading hits you hard enough that you no longer want to play. You may be more comfortable filling a different role on the fields.
Most importantly though, is to remember that you can’t always win and you can’t always lose. If a tower falls, it falls. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t. What you need to do is prepare for the next attack and the cycle will continue.

Good luck ( :

Week 7 - FA/SBI/DB [Wagon burning 2.0]

Good fights so far, guys. Although I’ve become absorbed in the mob mentality of hating SBI, it only fuels the fun on the field.

I look forward to seeing one of two things come the end of the season; SBI gloating that they’ve won, or SBI making excuses about why they’ve lost. We can guarantee at least one!

And FA, I’m sick of seeing your faces. But you’re good fighters and I respect the skill.

0/10 go home. We know there is a darn good chance FA will beat us, and no one on SBI has a problem with that. We’ll still fight and try our darnedest. Why? Because at least FA and DB fight with dignity.

Oh I don’t doubt we’ll lose. But there’s always a slim chance we’ll push in to second. What ever place we take this week I’ll still enjoy the fights. All I’m saying is that despite my newfound distaste for SBI, it’s only made the small victories feel larger. So win, lose, what ever… Dragonbrand for life!

Season 1, endings. Season 2, beginnings?

SpellOfIniquity.1780

How has everyone felt about the first season and do you think you’ll be participating in the second, assuming there is a second?
Are you new to WvW, and was it the season that aroused your interest?

Just curious to know. I find that of all the many hundreds of things there are to do in Guild Wars, WvW is the most fun and the most rewarding. When I play a game I play it for the reward of the challenge, not the loot. WvW provides a good deal of both. Since the seasons began, it has felt something like a sport. Like people are watching the scores and debating on who’s going to win, lose or just who’s been an outstanding match.
Although the score never mattered much to me prior to the season, I find myself a bit more passionate about my server now. And it may very likely only be me, or myself and a handfull of others, but I kind of feel like the season has locked in my place here on Dragonbrand. And that if there was a doubt it my mind, it has been completely erased by the season.

I’ve personally enjoyed every minute. The fights, the talks, the lessons and of course the forum wars. I strongly look forward to a second season, and would love to know what everyone’s best, worst and overall most memorable moments have been.

Cheers!

Hi mr Darth Sir!

Allow me to educate you on the nature of facts! A fact is not actually a fact until it’s proven. With evidence. Not by asserting, wishing really hard or bellowing really hard will a fabrication become fact.

Having said that, you appear to imply that SBI is only dangerous when having overwhelming numbers, which seems an odd thing to brag about. To me your post reads like:‘Just wait until I find you alone and I got my mates to back me up’.

If you feel that population made the difference, then why do you have a problem with the opposing servers turning their lower population weakness into a strength by focussing your server?

Ruined City Of Arah; what should I know?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: SpellOfIniquity.1780

SpellOfIniquity.1780

Before I begin, let me be clear I understand that I’m choosing the most difficult dungeon to run. I’ve run Ascalonian Catacombs 3 times and didn’t care much for it. Probably because I was terrible and no one wanted to help me out, although I understand their state of mind it was no less frustrating.

I’m an Engineer, bomber build, pretty much a glass cannon built for WvW which is what I spend most of my time doing. I roll with a rifle instead of a pistol, I just prefer the feel, and although I have absolutely nothing put in to vitality I can generally keep myself alive quite well.

I’ve been watching some videos so I know what to expect, but I’m still scarred from my AC runs and the sour attitude towards my noobishness.

So my questions would be:

What can I do before I enter to ensure I won’t weigh down the team too much?

Are there any particular abilities I should equip? Such as condition removals or stun-breakers?

Since I’m a regular in WvW, I follow orders often. It shouldn’t be hard to keep up with the team, but in the event that I lose my way/die and have to WP, should I leave or try to catch up with the group?

How many times will I have to run this dungeon to purchase the full medium set? I’ve wanted to get my hands on it for quite some time, it’s extremely nice and one of the main reasons I want to farm this dungeon.

And lastly, if I run it multiple times a day, what kind (if any) of penalties can I expect to my rewards? Will there be less gold, worse loot, less marks?

Sorry for the nub questions. I just don’t handle failure well and don’t want to have a recap of the last time I attempted dungeons…

The end of the WvW Roamer?

in WvW

Posted by: SpellOfIniquity.1780

SpellOfIniquity.1780

Roaming is a risky job. As is scouting. Anything that involves wandering the fields unaccompanied means high risk of being killed by one or multiple enemies. As someone who scouts regularly, I find the best thing you can do is avoid roads and paths zergs will regularly travel.
Since scouts are more about keeping tabs on the enemy and less about flipping camps and sentry’s, my job is a lot easier than yours. But I don’t have a lot of trouble staying alive so long as I stay as far as possible from frequented grounds. I find taking routes behind hills and swimming through rivers at the very bottom to be really good ways of keeping out of sight. I’m not a thief either not only that I’m also a glass cannon. So being spotted won’t end well for me.
I wouldn’t say by any means it’s the end of the roamer. Just that with the higher level of people entering WvW, it means we’ll need to get more crafty. If anything, it’s the end of the original roamer and the beginning of a new breed.

OR you could learn to interrupt people.

I agree with this guy.
Although I also agree with the OP to a certain degree, I don’t feel that it’s that big of an issue. Usually if someone is downed they’re finished. If someone tries to res them they’ll be nuked with AOE’s and give up within a few seconds. I’ve only ever encountered this being a problem a handfull of times. For the most part the dead will stay dead for a short while before WPing unless they’re really selfish and stay dead waiting to be ressed getting people killed in the process.
If anything the dead are hurting the allies and helping the enemy. All the people trying to res the dead end up getting dead themselves by pushing their luck.
Still, I agree to an extent. I’m just saying that unless it’s 10 to 1 odds, it’s rarely a problem. Otherwise the dead will just be bombed with AOE’s and the people trying to res them will be swarmed by anyone who’s paying attention.

Engineers being buffed

in Engineer

Posted by: SpellOfIniquity.1780

SpellOfIniquity.1780

Most of the buffs have been done to turrets. Which no one uses.
Also, Engineers aren’t overpowered. It’s the people. The profession takes a lot more patience to understand than the majority of the other classes. Therefore if you run in to an Engineer, unlike say a Warrior for example, they probably know the class like the back of their hand. Where as a Warrior just knows hammer + stun = win. ( Not bashing Warrior by the way, my alt is a Warrior and I love them. They’re just not as difficult to understand which means most people who play them don’t know how to take full advantage of their potential.)
So really, just know that if you’re going to be fighting an Engineer there’s a good chance they know their class better than you know yours. And knowing what’s best to use when and how to use it, will inevitably make the profession seem a bit OP.

The Topic of Stealth- yes again...

SpellOfIniquity.1780

Shadow’s Rejuvenation does not heal that much in that short amount of time. If they go back to 100% it means they have used their heal as well. That and shadow refuge are the only skills that allow them to heal that much, the trait on its own heals for about 300 every second. Ten seconds of stealth equals 3k hp. It’s not bad, but it’s hardly 60% of their HP pool. The trait is not that amazing.

I didn’t mention whether or not they used Shadow’s Rejuvenation. I just said that when they go in to stealth, they regenerate a large amount of health. And if they’re invisible while regenerating health, that means it’s likely they won’t be hit, which means they’ll get full use of that regeneration not sacrificing any of it to damage taken.
It’s not that amazing. It’s just that regenerating health should be the time you’re most vulnerable not the time you’re strongest. Eg. when you’re about to use a heal on most classes, there’s an obvious animation which you can interrupt.

Although they can be built to have a generous amount of health, that would sacrifice a lot of their critical attack chance abilities.

Thieves who have low health are glass cannons and choose to have low health. I can exceed 20k health on mine. That’s not low.

I understand that, and I’ve said so here.

Deadliest Class WVW

in WvW

SpellOfIniquity.1780

As I’m almost certain someone has already mentioned (but I’m too lazy to read through right now), all professions can be deadly if used properly. It’s not really about finding a deadly class, it’s about finding which one YOU’RE deadly with.

However, there are a few classes that are somewhat more frightening to come across than others. Such as;

Thief; although the majority of them you won’t ever “see” in the first place.
Warrior; If built properly, it can take more than one person to bring them down.
Necromancer; For a light class, they easily have as much survivability as a heavy class. Not to mention if you roll a minion master you can trick people in to thinking you’re a group and not a single person.
Engineer; Although they take more practice than the other classes, if you run in to an Engineer they more than likely are as good as or better than you are. So don’t underestimate them. Engi’s are kind of the wild-card. They have such variety in regards to build it’s difficult to predict what they’ll be throwing at you.

Most deadly things to inflict on someone are probably;

Immobilized
Blind
Crippled
Poison
Bleed

There are more painful conditions to receive, but being immobilized or crippled can mean not being able to escape when you’re about to die. And personally I’ve found those are the conditions that decide the fight. So keep those ones in mind for which ever profession you decide to go with. I’m not certain since I haven’t been playing as long as others, but if I’m not mistaken just about every class has access to those conditions so if you have them, use them.

Thieves have some of the lowest health in the game. Although they can be built to have a generous amount of health, that would sacrifice a lot of their critical attack chance abilities.
I agree completely with your opinion. If there’s one thing in the game I hate more than anything else it’s perma-stealthers. However, I respect that it’s a necessary defense because without it, they’re pretty kitten easy to kill. The problem lies in the fact that while they’re visible, you can cut them down to 40% health within 3 seconds. But as soon as they go back in to stealth, which usually only takes about 4 seconds, they’ll go right back up to 90 – 100% health. I would say the health regeneration needs a nerf. Nothing else really needs much of a change. Although I passionately hate swinging blindly in to the air hoping I’ll hit them after they’ve disappeared, I understand that without it they’re incredibly vulnerable.
So I would only suggest reducing the amount they’re able to heal while in stealth, rather than nerfing stealth as a whole.

Lol, I don’t care how many people tell me to kitten. But honestly, EBay, I don’t know if there’s any kind of recruitment going on for WvW but last weeks match was completely ridiculous. I’m not posting this to say we won (Dragonbrand) and I’m not posting this to say you guys are bad. I treat WvW like a duel, I respect my opponent and if I could shake their hands and spank their bottoms after a good fight I would. But because fighting you guys was like fighting the league of shadows, your whole about 70% population of thieves, I only have respect for those of you who weren’t stealth trolling the whole week. I’m completely comfortable with admitting I’m terrible against thieves, being blinded and stabbed in the back by an invisible enemy is sometimes hard to defend yourself against. I’m just saying that maybe you guys should consider reducing the number of thieves in your army… Just a thought.
And if we’re against you any time soon I’ll make sure to have plenty of stealth disruptor traps for all of you wieners hiding in the shadows.

Loving this weeks match-up. As a member of Dragonbrand I know we’re a quality not quantity server, we have lots of people but most are PvE’ers and don’t care much for WvW. But those of us that do are a good group and it’s nice to see us faced with such an even challenge. I sympathize for Ehmry and Crystal from last week being totally dominated, we’ve all been there. But the change from last weeks match-up is massive, no where is safe to roam alone and if you’re not careful the enemy will steal everything from under your nose.
High five for the level of skill Shiverpeaks and Yak’s have been showing us since reset. You guys are a tough bunch and I’m glad to have an even match. We all seem to be equally capable which will make for a very interesting week. I hope this continues!
Cheers guys and see you on the battlefield!

Yak’s Bend are a tough crew. Haven’t seen much retaliation from Northern Shiverpeaks yet but the handfull I’ve fought are relatively strong as well. Unfortunately for Ehmry Bay and Crystal Desert we seemed to heavily outman them the majority of the week which made for a not-so-interesting week. No offence intended, believe me Dragonbrand has suffered similar situations so I sympathize.
But the reason for this post is to say that I’ve been having the most fun I’ve had so far in WvW thanks to this weeks match-up. I’m not sure how others are feeling but I’m totally thrilled at the amount of action going on. It’s constant war, no where is safe to roam alone and if tabs aren’t kept on the enemy, locations will be attacked or conquered. This is how WvW is supposed to be!
I really hope the week continues to be this competitive because when one server starts to completely dominate and the others stop trying it becomes a lot less fun for all of us, whether you’re the winning server or the losing. So I’d just like to say cheers to Yak’s and Shiverpeaks and I hope you guys keep giving us hell, see you on the battlefield.

Female vs. Male Characters

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: SpellOfIniquity.1780

SpellOfIniquity.1780

Video games are make-believe. I see no reason to refine yourself to the gender you are in reality let alone the species. It’s boring to not explore the possibilities always sticking with what you already know.
I support role-playing and experimentation. So long as the wrong ideas aren’t in place such as the objectification of genders/races then there’s nothing wrong with it.
Also, I’ve seen people say many times how it doesn’t make sense how you could be attracted to pixels; it stimulates your mind the same way a real human body would. It doesn’t have to be real to be attractive the same way you can turn yourself on with a thought.
I would also like to say that female proportions aren’t all that realistic despite what some people have said. We’re just conditioned to these types of appearances because they’re the models most games and television shows go with. Not only that, the male proportions are also unrealistic, and if a woman ever says she’s upset with how women are presented in video games, though I agree to a certain degree, males are equally unrealistic.
The fact is; it’s a game… Don’t let it go to your head and have fun with it. Be a different gender, be the same, be a different species, race, what ever… Why limit yourself when the possibilities are so varied?

SpellOfIniquity.1780

I am DB commander! I also appreciate and understand what you are saying!

We also have a lot of newer commanders or lesser experienced commanders pinning up since we are winning this week, which is a good thing, but sometimes leads to disorganization..and a lot of commander tags with little communication, but they need to get experience at some point in order for our server to continue to grow!

I been commanding for a while now and I think most commanders know that so long as your doing what makes sense and the best you can…that’s all you can do…trolls will be trolls and they will always be there…not everyone is going to agree with your choices…but guess what…if they disagree so vehemently…they can get their own tag and lead

I agree and I’m glad you agree with me, too. However, those that are training to be commanders don’t need a pin up if they’re just training. I’m practicing being a commander myself by watching their routines and following examples and I don’t use a pin I just state what I feel would be good to do every so often in map chat and if people agree we do it.
But yeah you’re definitely right… Trolls will be trolls. I shouldn’t let myself get sucked in to it \ : Unfortunately for me my temper gets the best of me sometimes.

40+ Dragonbrand vs Ehmry Bay Keep...

As someone who’s a member of the Dragonbrand server I’d like to say the following;

- I don’t apologize, but I do sympathize. Before the season began and around the time I started playing (not that long ago) we were against Maguuma and Sea Of Sorrows… Needless to say, we had [Outnumbered] 95% of the time and just about all of our efforts amounted to insta-die and being roflstomped until it felt stupid to keep trying.
- Don’t let it discourage you. Yes it sucks big time but things will change. Maybe not after reset or maybe it will. If you don’t want to play you don’t have to but I’m almost completely certain every server has faced hard times like that. I know first hand Dragonbrand has but because I enjoy WvW so much, winning or losing, I’m still here to see us doing well instead of being facerolled.
- Also, our server is extremely active early morning (or at least morning where I live) and the other two servers seem to be pretty much dead. We do kind of take advantage of that but we’ve been pretty behind lately so it’s just bad luck on our opponents part that we’re trying extra hard right now.

Just take your anger out on us or the next server you’re against when they’re weakest. I DO apologize for this one but whoever we were spawn camping today… That hate comes from being mowed down by Maguuma so many times… They had no frigging mercy.

Everyone’s missing the point so they can argue over the one thing they disagree on, as usual.

What I’m saying is that a commander isn’t required to command nor are there any certifications to be one. If you’re commanding and you know what you’re doing you should be thanked for taking it upon yourself instead of having people harass you over your mistakes. Also that yes multiple commanders can be beneficial but I find that most people lose the ability to think for themselves once a pin goes up. Which means that more than one is like watching a dog try to catch two tennis balls… One of the zergs is eventually going to consume all the players. Communication helps, it doesn’t resolve it, just prevents it.

Anyway, since this is now the primary focus of the conversation, I would also like to say that sure multiple pins are good… But I think what I failed to mention was that a lot of the time when more than one pin is up they’re both in the same spot… Which makes having two or more kind of pointless.

Stealth and Speed Hacks in WvWvW

in WvW

Posted by: SpellOfIniquity.1780

SpellOfIniquity.1780

Before anyone accuses me of being terrible it’s okay, I already know I’m not great. But I think there is some kind of hack going on… This one thief in particular I’ve run in to multiple times now is impossibly fast. Someone also fought them and said it’s a port hack or something?
Anyway, to give an example of what happened. This thief was stealthing more times than I believe it’s possible to do because of cooldown limitations. And when I was doing damage to them they would stealth and before you could logically be more than a few yards away they re-appear almost completely out of sight, far enough their name wouldn’t show up above their head. I also saw them spam Infiltrator’s Shot at least 5 times. And I don’t think you can have enough initiative to do that, my other character is a thief so I understand how they work.
Anyway just saying this is the first time I’ve seen someone move that fast, stealth that often or just in general be that kitten slippery… I could hardly land a hit on this person and I can usually dispose of thieves fairly quickly. “About face” button (180 your character) and flamethrower is lethal xD.

There may be hacks used , but very rare. The thief port thing is shadow trap most likely.

Hm, possible. I’m honestly not certain of whether it was a hack or not it just seemed like an unusual amount of stealths and moving way faster than spamming Heartseeker or any of the other evasive maneuvers could account for.
Either way that person ticked me off… I’m glad I’m tanky for an engineer or they would have killed me a lot more than twice.

Hiding chest armour

SpellOfIniquity.1780

DC Universe did a lot of things wrong. One thing they did right, was their customization. Which GW2 could take some lessons from.

No dyes, colour wheel. You can choose from any colour of the rainbow.
No style limitations. What your character appears to be wearing isn’t always what they’re statistically wearing. Say for example my character in GW2 is statistically wearing the Armageddon karma armor, but appearance-wise is wearing the Twilight Arbor set. That’s how DCUO works.
There’s also no class limitation, only role. Which GW2 doesn’t have so if customization worked that way every class could wear every type of gear.
Also that gear doesn’t take up inventory space. When you collect something you collect it as a style, then you can delete it and keep the style forever but not have the statistical gear.

If only the rest of DCUO were as good as it’s customization… Or better yet if only GW2 had these options.

Also, on that note, despite being able to run around completely nude but still statistically wearing a full set of armor, it’s very rare you see naked people in that game. Every so often there would be a bunch of naked men in pink underwear and cowboy hats having a gay rave dance but generally people would stick to armor. So that just goes back to how I said I seriously doubt you’d see a lot of people running around naked in GW2 if this were an option.

I’m satisfied with my character. Although I feel she could look better, I like the gorgeous face but greasy engineer body combination. She seems like the kind of woman you’d be like “yeah, she’s alright” to, then you see her at the beach in a bathing suit and you’re like O__O.

Yes, I just felt like making this because there has been a lot of squabbling going on on our server right now over who should be commanding. Lately we’ve had 2 commanders at almost all times and a few times recently even 3. It’s frustrating because it divides the group but like you and I have both said, people generally seem to understand it’s bad. So hopefully this whole weird fad of multiple pins that has been going on dies out, lol.

Option for automatic loot in WvW

1. Bind AoE loot to a key you use constantly.
2. Kill stuff and collect the loot while you are at it.
3. ????
4. Profit.

Hahahaha, Gnomes.

I like the idea of auto-loot but as someone has mentioned it doesn’t take that long to press F. Not only that how often do you really get anything besides stuff you’re just going to sell/throw away? If I miss a bag because I’m downed, meh… There will be other times. And unless you’re pushing 20 buttons at a time while in combat it isn’t that hard to move your finger to F.
Not scrutinizing your idea, I would be all for it. Just saying it’s not really an issue imho. AoE is perfectly functional has only failed me when I’m downed and can’t pick it up.
