Alright so, here’s the verdict.

First of all, Lich Slap won by one vote. We didn’t get a whole lot of votes on anything however. Less than 100 total and most people probably chose more than one name.

After I made the strawpoll, opinions seemed to change, though the poll didn’t necessarily reflect that.

It’s impossible to make everyone happy since everyone is going to have a different opinion on what name they think is best, so, I’m just going to go ahead and create it.

With that said, I will not in any way be offended or upset if people choose not to join based on the name. Nor will I be upset if someone wants to create their own all Necromancer guild. In fact, the only reason I did this was because there weren’t any other all Necromancer guilds that I knew of. I’d be happier to just join one rather than creating it myself but I wanted to bring our community together and wanted everyone to feel like they had a say in the name.

If necessary, we can create a new guild with a different name and migrate there. Otherwise, I would really like to begin rounding up our family so we can finally have a place of our own (:

-Nervous- Hesitated to post this reply… I really want this to work this time.

Pretty sure we are still waiting on some sort of name consensus

[DEAD] seems to be the agreement for the tag, but there is literally zero consensus for the name

That’s why I haven’t been responding to the thread much lately. I was hoping people would sort out a name. Since we all have different ideas however, I’m just going to list all the ones that have been suggested and we’ll have a vote.

I have one final name addition after seeing people wanting “Necro” in the title: Necropalypse.

-Poll closed-

Which ever gets the most votes wins. After that, we’ll get the show on the road.

I won’t lie, guys… Naming something means a lot to me. I take naming anything very seriously even if the name is a joke. So do me a huge favor and consider that when voting :P.

EDIT: Unfortunately, “Necrology 101” has been omitted because you cannot put numbers in guild names or tags.

Hate against rangers and thieves in WvW.

There is no balance. Some things do what they do so much better than everything else that they make the rest irrelevant.

You can play what you want, how you want, but WvW is a team game. If you don’t want to contribute to your group with some form of valuable support (which means meta support, be it offensive or defensive), expect to be unwanted.

If someone does not want Rangers, Thieves, Engineers, or what ever else in their squad, don’t take it personally. It isn’t a personal assault. It’s about what works best and wanting the group to succeed. If you want to be a part of that group, play something that’s needed and I’m sure you’ll be invited. Otherwise, enjoy yourself and practice self sustain. The less you die and the more you contribute the better, though that does not necessarily mean that you will see a squad invite.

I play a Flamethrower Engineer in zergs because I enjoy it. I designed it to be as self sufficient as possible because I don’t expect to be invited to squads. I know that what I’m doing is of little value but I make my presence positive by staying alive, following orders and rescuing teammates. I could be doing all of this on a meta class/build but I play video games to enjoy myself not to be efficient or competitive. If I’m bringing my team down, I’ll switch. But in large scale combat (30+), it hardly matters.

Bottom line: Some things are better than others and getting angry about it won’t change it. Maybe Anet will address it in the future, maybe they won’t. Holding your breath will only set you up for disappointment. Play what you enjoy and do what you can to be a positive impact. It doesn’t matter if what you’re doing isn’t as valuable as what others are doing, as long as you’re putting effort forth to help your group.

Make death impactful in WvW

in WvW

SpellOfIniquity.1780

Beyond cynicism, one of the things that pushed me to actually create this topic was a situation earlier today. I wiped a group of 3 just outside of their camp. I started on the camp and before long the three players I had killed began coming into the camp attempting to kill me one after the other. I would kill one, he would respawn and start his trek back, and by the time I had killed the third, the first one to die was already back at the camp and the cycle continued on until I decided to leave it alone and abandoned the camp. I guess I just wish there was a viable system that might make those guys say “hey, we keep getting killed trying to stop this dude from taking our camp. Sure, we could keep this up and prevent him from capping, but would that really be wise considering every time he kills us we….” Right now the only way to finish that sentence is “Would that really be wise considering every time he kills us we give his team a few points?” It’s just not enough.

I literally did almost exactly this last week and my final thoughts weren’t “death should be more impactful” but instead “I should have kited instead of holding my ground.”

Went in to Pangloss Mine, killed the NPC’s, had a lengthy fight with an Ele, killed it, another Ele came, killed it, the first one came back, a Scrapper soon followed, downed them both by the time a Thief showed up, finished them both, worked on the Thief, a Reaper and Dragonhunter showed up, the first three came back and the camp upgraded and reset, at which point I died from being overwhelmed.

Did that as a vanilla Necro. Felt pleased that I was such a chore to bring down rather than upset that I’d lost, lol. Fight must have lasted like 8 minutes as I was able to cast Plaguelands 3 times before dying.

I really hope this skill never changes, unless it’s a velocity increase. It’s my favorite skill the Necromancer has access to and used properly, can be an extremely effective pressure skill. Cannot begin to explain how many times this skill has turned fights for me against Thieves, Guards, Warriors, Druids, etc. Anything that’s trying to block or escape from me, if I’ve counted their dodges, I’ll be right back on top of them and they’re in real big trouble. Landing it on Thieves post-stealth is my probably the most satisfying feeling on top of that.

It’s clunky and weird to use but practice is all it takes. A little adjustment on Anet’s part is what it needs. I’m not going to say “this idea is terrible”, because it isn’t, it’s just not something I personally want to see. I like the idea but I don’t want it added.

Deathly Hallows. -cough-

I dig this; Deathly Hallows [Nec]. Also I would probably be down to take an Officer or similar position in this if it actually gets off the ground. I’m always happy to answer questions, rate/create builds, and give advice to/have discussion with Necros of all levels.

Sounds good. I’ve been asking around in game since I made this post. If I can get at least 10 people that are interested I’ll start the guild and we can go from there. I just don’t want it to fail again. It would be really nice to have a huge all Necro guild that actually manages to support itself like [Wind] or [OMFG].

Anyway if you guys know anyone that would like to be a part of this, message me their names or something. And thanks for taking an interest!

I tried this in the past and briefly succeeded before failing. So I’d like to try it again with a different approach.

First, if we could all brainstorm on names and a tag [ ]

Then we can assign officers, leaders and such to give us a sense of equality

It doesn’t have any real purpose other than to get as many Necros in one guild as possible but if anyone would like to organize events or something, by all means!

If no one is interested, I absolutely understand that as well. I’m just personally very passionate about Necromancer (and Ranger) and would be overjoyed to be able to be in an all Ranger guild and an all Necro guild.

Anyway, if anyone would like to begin belting out some ideas or volunteering for rank positions, please do! As of now, the only name for the guild I have in mind is Savage Crypt.

Speed of Shadows give it back !!!

SpellOfIniquity.1780

As a vanilla Necro, this is my favorite change that has been made in a long while. Saves me constantly and I’m incredibly happy with it. In WvW, nothing kills me more than random Chills, Cripples or Immobilizes when I’m critically out of position, which subsequently leads to being focused and killed. Happens a whole lot less now and Ancient Seeds Druids are less of a threat as well.

EDIT: Also, anyone who was taking Speed Of Shadows pre-change and was using a staff was an idiot. I’m completely with Flow on this. It’s still very much worth taking. I miss it sometimes when I need to Fear someone, transfer conditions or Poison + Chill just before a heal but I feel it’s worth the trade off with the changes to Speed Of Shadows. Prior to the changes, 3 seconds off Shroud entry was in no way worth it. Now they just need to do something with Unyielding Blast.

Think of it this way. Engineer cannot swap weapons and neither can Elementalists. Imagine and Ele with only one Attunement. Similar idea with Engineer. You don’t need to use kits, but at least one is a good idea. Otherwise you’ll spend a lot of time waiting for cooldowns.

Healing Engineer Build

in Engineer

Posted by: SpellOfIniquity.1780

SpellOfIniquity.1780

I thought well it sort of works I run apothecary p/p scrapper as well in WvW small scale and you can be decently effective even at “low” condi damage… But then I opened the link and my only thought was

Oh dear god why why why is that the healing kit whyyyyyyyyyyyyy please someone burn my eyes off now!

Hahaha…

The problem with an engineer “healer” is that only the elixir gun is actually good at it. Good fire and forget AoE with high uptime leaving you available to do some damage. Holding the medkit will cripple you. Using a sheild will cripple you. Not being a scrapper will cripple you. You’re nothing in a zerg compared to an ele healer that will heal more just by passive AoE (in a coordinated zerg the mobile water field of the healing gyro will probably be 10x as effective in a stacking heal compared to trying to fidget around with the healing kit). You’re going to be dead weight small scale and solo I cant see it defeating anything except maybe outsustaining a worse healer.

Sorry if I sound pessimistic but I just dont see this as good in any scenario.

Semi unrelated note here but;

I play full Celestial Juggernaut Engi with Leadership runes in WvW (Engi variant- Scrapper varient-) . I’ve tried various different builds and honestly find it to be very effective.

I tried full Dire P/P before and found with Might stacking from Juggernaut, I could get similar Burn bursts in full Cele but have more Power damage and Healing Power to boot. I can get up to 6k ticks if I use my Toolbelt skill and high 4k without from skills on lower cooldowns like Rocket Kick.

I’m not necessarily challenging that it’s better than Apothecary or a dedicated condition build, just that full Cele w/ Juggernaut is quite effective if you can stick to your target to maintain pressure. Though I don’t use it for roaming, it’s a tag and bag bot for zerging, it can still be nasty in small scale as well as providing good AOE heals/support like reviving or condition clearing.

Just a thought in case you’re the same as myself – you like having Healing Power on Engi while still being able to do damage.

SpellOfIniquity.1780

I’m honestly fine with how it is. The only thing I would like is for it to grant 1second of Stability or Blind upon beginning the cast because it’s a pretty long cast time for a small AOE that doesn’t move.

I get that it’s powerful if you get caught in it and that that’s the reason for it’s cast time, but either of my suggestions would be easy enough for most things to negate that it would still be a risk to use.

I just feel that as it stands, it can be very difficult to pop in a fight. I find I get the most use out of it in small scale battles of 5 v 5ish where I can drop it on a downed ally or enemy which usually forces one or more players to take heavy damage. It also works nicely for dropping on myself if I can manage to do so before I reach downed state.

Lack of variety in roaming roles

in WvW

Posted by: SpellOfIniquity.1780

SpellOfIniquity.1780

Anet does not care for balance in a microcosm within a mass conflict game mode. The thief class cannot contest a point in PvP whilst he is kiting around or in stealth. This mode is what the classes were built onand balanced for. They just piggy backed WvW into the game then threw the classes into WvW as is.

You want a semblance of balance, go to PvP where condi classes can actually be blown up like everything else(limited stats) and thieves are reasonable.

sPvP:
- no burst sigils
- normalised stats
- significant endurance nerfs
- skill nerfs (Vault)

look at signet of agility in WvW, 100% endurance buff and three condis cleared on a 30sec icd, is there another utility more overloaded? Maybe shadow step.

^

I made an entire thread about this not long ago. If you want balance, roaming isn’t the right place to be looking.

There are broken builds aplenty and fights are rarely a matter of skill. I come across maybe 1 player a week that’s worth remembering. Everyone else is playing a cookie cutter build skill mashing and doing at least reasonably well enough to survive.

A lot of people are hyped about Deadeye but I feel like it won’t last. They were extremely gimmicky and easy to kill during the beta. Didn’t see many Renegades but heard a lot of bad things.

I’d say Deadeye would be a better choice between the two but Renegade might be more versatile, possibly decent in zergs and roaming.

The only two I played during beta was Soulbeast and Scourge. Scourge seems very powerful though I personally didn’t enjoy it, and Soulbeast seems like the Ranger version of Berserker. Hits like a train and works best in melee range.

I would suggest just saving the bag slot until the full release, personally. I have a name change contract from the pre-purchase, 2 make over kits, a level 80 boost and a ton of Proof of Heroics prepared that I’m saving for the full release. I don’t think I’ll make another character at the moment but my mind might change, and so might yours!

SpellOfIniquity.1780

I don’t know how carefully you curated the clips, but it seems to me that in all of them you were allowed to do exactly what is optimal: run into melee range, drop Sand Shades, and use Sand Shroud to rapidly spam out conditions. It seems nobody was using condition clearing or Resistance, and nobody tried to send your conditions back at you.

I mean, there is no way you should have been able to take on as many people as you did in that first clip. With such little access to Stability you should have been controlled to death, and quickly at that.

But there is a lot of Condi running around right now: Scourge, Mirage, Firebrand, Weaver, etc. I took a Knight-geared Power Reaper using minions with the Death Magic trait that has minions take your conditions from you and then apply it to what they attack, and let me tell you: that’s SUPER EFFECTIVE right now. I’ve killed SO MANY people with their own conditions.

Yeah, it’s a trollish build, but it works great in skirmishes, roaming, and 1v1s.

Still, if almost anyone runs right into a Scourge that’s standing near a Sand Shade and running Sand Shroud, they are going to melt. That seems just fine to me.

He was able to do it because it’s WvW where at least 80% of players are about 1 step up from an NPC in terms of brain capacity.

Half the time you die roaming it’s because you were outnumbered not outskilled.

Predator's Cunning is Better Than You Think

in Ranger

Posted by: SpellOfIniquity.1780

SpellOfIniquity.1780

It’s a base heal of 182 I believe. However, what makes the trait good is that it has no ICD and triggers per stack of poison.

Take the trap Viper’s Nest for example. Each second the trap is active, it deals 3 stacks of poison to up to 5 enemies. You will siphon health three times from each of the five enemies. 3×5 = 15, 15×182 = 2730 HP gained per second.

That is an optimistic scenario, provided we assume five targets will stay in the AoE long enough. Nonetheless, it shows it’s potential, and it works on every skill which causes poison.

Then you can use Whirling Defenses to finish the poison field as well.

It’s a decent trait, but soulbeast needs another way to apply poison. Unless you build
around poison completely, it’s lacklustre and situational. Moving Fresh Reinforsement to a minor and then adding a trait that applies poison to Adept would improve the spec and give synergy imo.

Honestly, I think the trait from the start should’ve worked with every condition. To compensate, Nerf it’s lifesteal by ~50%. That right there would be a kitten good trait that is super useful for condition builds and remains somewhat useful for power.

Heimskarl Ashfiend.9582:

I don’t actually know what you are saying here.

Does your beastmode aura visually change when you merge with another pet? Is it red, blue, whatever?
No.

The devs thought that visual representation of what pet you merged with does not matter. And now there are suddenly people that tell us that we can’t have a petswap in beastmode because people need to know what pet you’ve equipped, which they didn’t knew before either.

Ah, right, got you now. Agree completely. 100%.

In fact they talked about it taking a lot of development time to get it looking right, which makes me think they don’t intend on it being a tell, just to look good.

If Soulbeast can swap pets while in Beastmode I want to be able to enter Photon Forge with Holosmith without the visual tells.

The thing a lot of people are forgetting here is that if you allow pet swapping while in Beastmode, you’re going to need visual tells for the enemy (PvP/WvW).

If ANet were to allow this, they would need something like an icon that shows what pet you’re currently attuned to (like Revenant and Legends) or some kind of animation like the spirit of the pet appearing above you.

You can’t just swap pets without allowing people to know what you’ve swapped to or it lacks counterplay.

I enjoyed winning the 1vX’s more than I did playing the spec, if that makes sense. 2 more skills and a little more damage didn’t feel very exciting to me.

Also, you can’t combo F4 with Smokescales F2. The field remains after you meld but it doesn’t seem like you can combo with it.

And I’m noticing that I get knocked out of Beastmode sometimes. I may be fat-fingering the F5 but it seems to happen when I’m low health. Willing to accept it may be just me, but just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this as well.

SpellOfIniquity.1780

Given what we’ve seen from today’s stream, Scourge barriers need MASSIVE buffs if they are going to survive at all in PvP.

Agreed. I suppose we’ll see in a few hours when the beta goes live but after watching the demos, I got very nervous.

Barrier sounds like a more properly thought out Shroud but it’s rate of decay and how much you can apply without investment seem borderline novelty.

I understand that Anet want you to invest in something to get good usage out of Barrier but they can’t have it so that with no investment, your Barrier is effectively useless. I say that because Necromancer (and Scourge) lack what it takes to survive without Shroud/Barrier. They can’t just make us naked of defences with 2 dodges if we choose to go for an offensive Scourge build… It would be like a Berserker Reaper with no Shroud. We don’t have the tools to survive like that.

So I seriously hope that Barrier is better than what it looks or that, as you’ve said, sees some huge buffs.

Shroud is a shield, not a sponge. You use it to block what you can’t avoid

so bassicaly use it againts everything ? because the only thing we have is 2 dodge outside of Shroud… LOL we cant realy avoid anything … we dont even have mobility for crying out loud to get away from stuff let alone blocks or immunes or invis and evades…..

I don’t think it’s nearly as bad as many claim. It’s just a matter of understanding and proper usage. Life Force is a much easier resource to replenish than health after all.

proper ussage… HAHAHAHAHAHA suuuuure… againts ANY half Decent Burst builds you either stay in shroud and let it melt by the enemy in like 6+ sec then die while your waiting for that 10 sec CD….

or cancel it half way then die because you have NOTHING to defend yourself with while its on that 10 sec CD…..

sooo where is the Management here and proper usage ? this shroud is the Be all end all defense a necro have and the ONLY defense…..

the only ways you survive 10 sec without Shroud while a Burst player is on you is either

by teammates healing and defending you
or
the enemy ignores you….
or
your a kitten lucky person and majority of the enemies stuff is on CD so they cant faceroll your free kill defenseless face…..

I am literally at a loss for words. You are so unfathomably narrow minded I couldn’t think of where to begin an explaination.

What are you giving up for Shroud?

SpellOfIniquity.1780

Shroud is a shield, not a sponge. You use it to block what you can’t avoid and to continue on the offensive while remaining defensive (by protecting your health bar).

Although this “shield” does cause us harm in some of the ways you’ve mentioned, I don’t think it’s nearly as bad as many claim. It’s just a matter of understanding and proper usage. Life Force is a much easier resource to replenish than health after all.

The real issue with Shroud is scaling, which it doesn’t have. You can’t block an infinite amount of attacks like you can with Warrior’s Shield Stance, for example.

Yes that is a glaring issue but I disagree that Shroud is more of a weakness than it is a strength.

WvW rank pips

SpellOfIniquity.1780

Anet recently doubled the amount of tickets everyone can achieve in a week along with adding more pips for placement, why the OP feels the need to now squeeze one more pip out of them because he has not reached Diamond legend is pushing his luck imo.

As one of the supposed 23, I feel that being rewarded with an extra pip over players who can be 3k+ ranks lower than me is fair. Considering this is basically the only real benefit I get at rank 10k, I would happily give up my 1 pip advantage for something more meaningful, like a rank finisher or a title tho.

I still want a title and have wanted one for a long while now. It doesn’t even have to be worth Achievement Points so as not to frustrate AP hunters. Just a “Diamond Of The Mists” title or something stupid. I’d rock that all day.

Since no one seems to care, I’d like to thank ANet for the reworked Speed Of Shadows.

Has saved my ass countless times already and is already feeling like a mandatory trait in WvW. No more more getting perma-immob’d by Druids and no more getting Chilled/Crippled or Immobilized just before a zerg runs you over. The lengthy Swiftness is just the icing on the cake.

Love it and am thankful for the change.

I prefer scholar/high class vampire look, personally.

The story I’ve written about her has her as the child of royalty who committed suicide after her lover was executed by her father. Her father brought her back to life with a curse of eternal life, being an extremely powerful Necromancer himself, but was unable to break the curse before she murdered him for killing her lover.

She eventually became a teacher of the dark magics, often using taboo curses and spells that most considered to be malicious rather than helpful.

I enjoy vanilla Necromancer because I enjoy all of the vanilla Shroud skills. I find it to feel rewarding and I like being more of a presence than people anticipate.

I’ve stuck with it for nearly 4 years and I still love it as much as the day I fell for it. You can offer me sweeter candy but you can’t replace my satisfaction.

I kid you not, I still want a little choo choo train tag.

But yeah, it would be really nice if there were different shape options for tags. Anet doesn’t have to go crazy with it, but like half a dozen different options would be really cool. Even just shapes like squares, circles, stars, etc. It doesn’t really add any dynamic to the game but it’s just a fun option to have.

How did everyone get so much WXP?

in WvW

Posted by: SpellOfIniquity.1780

SpellOfIniquity.1780

As the first person said, it’s mostly about play time.

I’ve been playing for nearly 4 years and up until last year, I didn’t have a job. So I was playing about 8 hours a day during that time. I’m still playing around 5 – 6 hours a day on days I work and around 8 when I’m not (mind you it’s usually 2 – 3 hours at a time, not all at once).

If you’re constantly on the move like I am, you can gain a good deal of WXP just by always being present for captures. Commanders who are very PPT focused, especially on off hours, are also a big part of fast rank gain.

I’m less than 50 ranks from 9,000 right now and that has been with probably an average of 7 hours of WvW a day for 3.10 years. But I know there are a number of other players who are max rank (10k) that have played less than I have just by strictly zerging. I don’t strictly zerg so my rank gains are slower. In fact, I used to be top 20 in the world but have since fallen to #31 because I actually leave the house sometimes, lol.

Just sharing some info for your interest.

The Condi domination, and possible solution

in WvW

SpellOfIniquity.1780

No, actually, power builds in many cases are much easier.

Let me quote one of my posts from one of the many hundreds of threads complaining about conditions:

(snip)

With all due respect, I think you’re dead wrong about this.

While a gunflame warrior (for example) used to be capable of a stupidly low risk amount of cheese in some cases (and still can be, to a lesser extent), its big damage delivery is loaded into a skill that has channel time, shoots a fireball, and isn’t even accessible until the warrior looks like he’s been covered in radioactive hour sauce.

I don’t think you’d see nearly as much hate fir the broken condi builds (and I agree that not all condi is broken) if big damage was channeled into such highly telegraphed skills.

That aside, I’ve been finding condi on the small scale much more manageable since patch and don’t personally see a need to reign it in further.

The same could be said of the giant purple beam coming from Mesmer scepter or the scepter block. Both of which are major sources of their damage but people seem to constantly fail to avoid.

I agree on Warrior/Gunflame however, that’s why I said gimmick.

Perhaps I didn’t choose the best example, but what I was trying to illustrate, is that there are a number of power builds that require far less skill management, or even brain power, to be highly rewarded. I’m a terrible Warrior and I murder people all the time with Gunflame because if I catch them with their pants down it’s a 1 shot deal. Count those dodges and bait their defences (cancelling the burst helps) and RIP them. Also works in zergs where as condition Mesmer/Thief, not so much.

At the end of the day it all comes down to the fact that WvW isn’t/isn’t going to be balanced around small scale. Everyone has the power of choice and if they choose to sentence themselves to death by fighting what they’re not prepared to, that’s on them. If they get caught off guard, so be it, it happens to all of us and it shouldn’t be the fault of the skill(s) that caused the fatality. Roaming is about the experience, not about who’s better than who in a game where your opponent can draw scissors when all you have is paper.

I promise I’m not trying to avoid the topic, I just want to clarify how I view this.

The Condi domination, and possible solution

SpellOfIniquity.1780

We are not debating which is stronger. Condi wins with far less effort.

I am suggesting a way to balance the field

No, actually, power builds in many cases are much easier.

Let me quote one of my posts from one of the many hundreds of threads complaining about conditions:

Conditions aren’t magically applied. They have cast times, cooldowns and counters just like power attacks do. The issue is that people want to tank all of it and faceroll their keyboards like they do with their perma-blocking free-casting massive damage Dragonhunters or stance + high Adrenal Health uptime Berserkers.

There are a lot more power builds that are far more broken than most condition builds and are a lot easier to play. Being glassy doesn’t mean “risky” when the fight doesn’t last long enough for risk to come in to effect. Gunflame Warrior is a perfect example, it’s a gimmick but it works in most circumstances because you can 1 – 2 shot people. What are you risking if people are dead before they can retaliate? Not only that, toughness is pretty much irrelevant at this point in GW2’s life with how insanely high power damage is. My Necro has 3.3k armor and I still get slugged for 7 – 8k at times, usually by Thieves.

SpellOfIniquity.1780

Let me explain in layman’s terms…

WvW is not designed with small scale in mind. Someone here has said this before and put it the best, “anything Anet can do to buff the little guy buffs the big guy more.”

You can’t reduce condition effectiveness anymore than it currently is because in zergs, they’re already a lot less dangerous than power.

On the smaller scale side of things, there are a couple builds that are overtuned. That doesn’t mean conditions as a whole are unbalanced and it doesn’t matter anyway because said builds are irrelevant in large scale. How many condition Mesmers or Thieves do you see in zergs? Not many. Necromancers are the only exception and most of those don’t roam because they’re too vulnerable to being overwhelmed.

Conditions are not dominating. Idiocy is.

It’s nice, but I don’t think it’s great. I’ll have to see how it performs on actual players.

I was looking at the combat log and trying it against various mobs, usually buffing it with Maul before using the F2.

The highest amount of damage it managed to pull off with a bit of Might and Maul buffed ( + Beast Mastery ) was 5.1k. That’s solid damage and all, and it’s nice that it blinds, but you can do the same with Tiger + just running a trait to give it Blind if you really want.

I suppose the benefit is in that it hits 3 times, and quickly, so it could be nice to prevent a succession of attacks. But I’m kind of underwhelmed to be honest. I agree that it needs a lower cooldown to be more appealing. Otherwise I’ll be sticking with Tiger.

Hm. I feel like I already know the answer but, what happens if you cast it point blank on something? They won’t all hit the same target, will they?

If every single target is in a line in front of you I believe the hands will hit the same target five times. I’m not sure how this would work precisely irt chill application.

Unfortunate. It would be some insane break bar damage if they could all hit the same target. And although I don’t think it would work this way, but it would also be neat if it could strip multiple stacks of Stability if they all hit one player.

- Just fantasizing.

I am in freaking love with the change to this skill (WvW). I primarily use my Engineer for zerging with a Celestial Juggernaut build and it has been 100% worth the slot since the change.

Prior to this I was using Elixir Gun or Elixir S. Elixir S wasn’t used very often unless I got caught completely off guard and Elixir Gun was mostly used for the stunbreak if my Stability got stripped or occasionally to sit in the Elixir Bomb.

Rocket Boots however has been great for blasting Regenerating Mist or Healing Turret while repositioning or just to move around the field. Rocket Kick is also great when I’m having any 1v1/X paired with Incendiary Ammo and other Flamethrower skills for a nasty 5k+ Burn burst.

I don’t imagine many people are using this skill at the moment but I just wanted to gush over how much I’m enjoying it.

Roaming: Who, what, why, how? #Discussion

I didn’t mean to start such an agurement. It was mostly intended as a reality check for people who think roaming is going to get the same kind of love that zerging does, and for avid roamers to share stories and thoughts.

Regardless, I understand how some players must hate roamers or view them as bullies. Though most don’t do it to grief others, there are absolutely the players that do seek to get a rise out of their victims.

With that said, there are zerglings that are just as bad that will steam roll a solo player and jump on their corpse. It’s a two way street.

I feel just as vulnerable when I’m by myself poking at a bees nest of 50+ players seeing who I can get to separate from their pack as the players that are being poked by me. Because if they fall behind they die, and if I draw the attention of too many players, I die.
