love that. it’s why i’ve all but stopped maining the class in wvw.
anet seemed to believe that it was a good idea to make a class so vulnerable to interrupts that in a scenario like this, many of the other classes would be able to escape, but not necromancer.

Exactly who do you expect to run away from 5 thieves?

A warrior. They have 10 to 12 seconds before they die.

To be fair, this happened a couple weeks ago and I was right out front of SMC. Had I been on my Ranger or Warrior, I would have escaped. Why I even tried to fight back, I don’t know, I should have just popped Plague and prayed I made it to the gate but I think I was hoping for some kind of epic victory.

Either way it didn’t upset me, it was 5v1 and there wasn’t much I could do. It was just ridiculous that I didn’t get a single attack off, not even an auto attack, because so many dazes were hitting me.

Jumped by a pack of roaming Thieves, 5 in total. I didn’t immediately die because I run a very tanky build, but I did get hit with so many Head Shots and Slight Of Hands that I don’t think I ever managed to get off one full attack. It was pretty much 10 straight seconds of interrupts until I was defeated.

I was actually laughing out loud at how even my auto attacks were being interrupted they were spamming so many dazes. /shrug, that’s the kind of risk you take when you run a vanilla Necromancer in WvW alone.

Rank means nothing. I’ve met players that weren’t even rank 50 that were incredibly skilled and players that were higher than 5k that were terrible.

Ya I have this in t3/4 once in a while. It’s wierd coming across a no-rank and end up fighting for your life and then turning around and bug crunching platinums 1vX.

There was a Druid I was fighting that was only Raider rank (which is like 20 or something) a couple weeks ago that was insanely good. He was full glass and countered everything I tried to do. Fought him 2 or 3 times and every time he mopped the floor with me.

Just another one of many occasions where rank, sometimes even title, has proven to mean nothing. I’ve destroyed people who had PvP titles (Exalted Legend, Primorial Legend, etc) and again, I’m pretty mediocre. So to the OP; you can’t really judge until you’re fighting them. Which if you don’t like hurting newer players, unfortunately means you might have to severely injure them first before you can decide if their lives should be spared.

I spare the lives of people I beat in a straight up 1v1 if it was a fun 1v1 and I don’t attack players that appear to be passive; in tonic form, using a toy, etc. Otherwise, I don’t care how new they are, they’re fair game. They won’t get better if they’re never attacked.

SpellOfIniquity.1780

I’m just going to say that I still chase zergs and roam on a vanilla Necromancer and do alright. Last night I was quite frequently all by myself and within 1,200 range (close enough to drop staff marks on people) of blobs 50+ deep. It’s all about knowing your limits, being highly aware of your surroundings and recognizing when you’re being targeted.

I agree that Necromancer is in rough shape in terms of smaller scale play but we’re not free bags. My suggestion to you is to rely more on your own awareness and judgement than on your build. It has always been something that being a Necromancer has required but now more so than ever. As we lack the ability to escape being focused, we need to avoid being in a position where we get focused in the first place.

SpellOfIniquity.1780

After manual close now also manual linking, i’m out. Rip

You know… FA’s been Full/Very High since the population calculation change over a year ago and hanging around rank 6. Anet at the time said some servers marked Full were overstacked well beyond the Full status (like BG still is). When JQ was Very High, you guys still brought out numbers that FA could almost compete with. I don’t honestly know how you expect not to go Full when you can outnumber FA at times and then go and recruit. T2 “size” is basically the new max server size you have to get used to, not the old overstacked T1 sizes. It really sounds like you need to trim players in certain timezones if you want to fill other timezones.

Its not about just being full its not getting a link. Anet has just literally destroyed JQ. Well done anet.

This demands justification.

Oh lord, no! How the mighty have fallen! What’s so special about JQ that they can’t fall a few tiers? Servers have been rising and falling long before links became a thing.

There needs to be a cooldown on building these if they’re going to stay.

The other day we were trying to take SMC and BG was immediately rebuilding any cannons that died and the entire top floor was lined with them. I don’t know how many we destroyed but it was a lot and they’d always get rebuilt within seconds.

I’d prefer if they didn’t stay but I can only give one vote. So if they do stay, I suggest that there’s a limit on how many can be built within a given time, similar to how Siege Disablers have a cooldown.

How to Beat a Thief

in Necromancer

Posted by: SpellOfIniquity.1780

SpellOfIniquity.1780

I’m guessing you don’t play necro. That, or you’ve managed to find yourself some seriously garbage-tier thieves. Congrats.

Or third option: I’ve been playing necro for a long time and I actually know what I’m talking about.

It’s almost akin to saying that AP and skill have a direct correlation. To an extent they do, but not entirely. To be honest I’m not entirely sure if you’re trolling or not, but then again I’ve met some very interesting people on these forums, so someone thinking that a necro will have the upper hand over a thief on an even skill level fight doesn’t even surprise me anymore.

Actually, no, wait, you’re right. I can see a new playing trying out necro likely winning vs a new player trying out thief, at least until the thief learns how stealth and dodges work.

Flow knows what he’s talking about, and one of the few Necro’s I’ve spoken with that actually knows how to use Life Force. Which is a depressingly rare find even among people who have played thousands of hours on Necro.

I’m not sure that I 100% agree about Necro having the upper hand against a Thief but I do agree that it’s far less of a one sided thing than some people seem to think.

I also absolutely agree that OP was asking for advice and people basically saying just give up because you won’t win, isn’t true and isn’t going to help. There’s nothing in this game, at least as far as I’m concerned, that 100% hard counters something else. Some fights will be in favor of one thing and not in favor of another but there’s nothing that you just plain won’t beat no matter how good you are.

@ OP, patience is key. When fighting a Thief, don’t spam attacks or go full offensive. Be reactive, study them and save your attacks for openings. Necromancer is slow but it hits like a train, Thief is going to be in a world of hurt with that tiny HP pool if you catch them between their stealths and evades. It’s easier said than done, I know, but in a 1v1, you can afford more mistakes than they can.

Also important to note that Thieves, despite how slippery they are, have very distinct tells and a number of animation lock attacks such as the end of Vault or the beginning of Heartseeker. Learn how to exploit those openings!

One of the best tricks I’ve learned is to counterpressure their heal. This works best against Thieves because much of the time, they use their heal to top off rather than to recover from big hits. After they’ve healed, lay the hurt on them and watch them run for the hills.

Thieves, Mesmers and Engineers are the three classes that perform the best if their maximum potential is reached. They all have amazingly powerful skills that many players won’t ever master. None of these classes are OP, they’re just highly rewarding when their codes have been cracked. You’ll know if you meet one of these, trust me.

I had a lot of fun with Ranger back in the day when traps were throwable, Trapper runes hadn’t been nerfed yet and Swiftness/Superspeed effected leap disatances.

At the time I was on SFR EU and I had great fun making entire zergs chase me around the map, unable to catch me because I was like Sonic. I think one of the best memories I have was running around SMC lords room with at least 30 people chasing me for a good 20 minutes. Sword/Dagger + Superspeed and I could leap some ridiculous distances. Good times, 100% broken and nerfs well deserved.

I also miss when Spectral Walk could negate fall damage. There’s a spot in EOTM between Tytone Perch and Inferno’s Needle generator where you can drop waaay down to a bridge. I had at least 20 or so people run me off a cliff around there, all falling to their deaths while I survived and /cheer’d.

I’m not sure that either of those things are my classes peaks but they were definitely the times I felt the most broken (in the good way, or bad depending on how you look at it, lol).

SpellOfIniquity.1780

Is this going to be fixed some time today, is what I would like to know. Though I suppose if it’s under investigation, I probably have as much knowledge of when it will be resolved as those who are actually doing the work.

Would appreciate a post here when things are fixed, though. I don’t intend on logging in again until it’s figured out because I’ve crashed at least 5 times now and it’s not worth the frustration.

Have you tried the workaround above that Gaile posted? I’m interested in knowing if it helps your case. I imagine you are getting in game (past character select) before crashing?

Yes; we will continue to communicate as much as we can about this issue!

I almost exclusively do WvW. My settings were all on medium/high prior to seeing the work around solution so I didn’t need to change anything. I was able to preview the outfit before it was released with no problems. Now, however, if someone pings it in chat or is around me wearing it, regardless of whether I click on the outfit or can even see the person in the outfit, I crash.

The last time I got in to EBG, I asked if someone was wearing it and someone said yes. When I got near our zerg, I crashed.

The first couple times I crashed, it was someone pinging it in chat to be a troll. I wasn’t clicking on the link and it was still crashing me every time it appeared in chat. I just gave up signing back on after the fourth or fifth time because I figured it would be resolved in an hour or so. I don’t know how coding works and such so apparently it’s a more complicated issue than I had first guessed since it’s now like 3 hours later.

Not trying to be snarky just so that’s clear.

Well executed for what the build is. Of course any montage video is going to show wins rather than losses. That said I’m impressed by the use of the Silvari elite as it solves a potential problem with the build.

How to fight: disrupt the stealth stacking. Look for the red circles of black powder and use knockbacks and aoe cc abilities. Keep moving. Watch the ground for the trap’s being put down and dodge through them. Don’t clump up with other people. And finally, bring condition clear to the fight.

  • Have condition clears, as you always should.
  • Don’t expend your clears on minor conditions, wait for the Steal burst.
  • Stand in the red Black Powder rings when you see them. This will cause the Thief to hit you and become Revealed.
  • Drop CC’s and AOE’s on the Black Powder circles as well.
  • Watch/listen for the trap drops. You can see where they’re being placed and can dodge through them.
  • Remember that they’re slow. Once they’ve Steal bursted you, you should be safe to run as far and as fast as you can without much concern for them catching you.

If you’re a Necromancer you’re SOL. Best thing you can do is wait for the Steal burst since they’ll be on top of you, drop a Putrid Mark at your feet (wait a second for them to Caltrops dodge so they don’t evade the mark) and/or gamble attempt a pointblank Deathly Swarm + Reaper’s Mark and hope you Fear interrupt their cleanse attempt.

Keep these things in mind when fighting one. Also, Stealth Disruptor Traps are your friend!

I’m not going to QQ about it because it’s an easy build to fight if you know what to look for. In fact, I knew it was going to be you as soon as I saw the content of the thread, and I’ve killed you a number of times. I might even be in one of your videos if you decided to include it.

I’m not very good at all, so that should really say something about how good you are and how much the build can carry someone. If anything, it’s a perfect example of how players can be extremely successful and appear skillful when using a broken build.

But I digress, it’s always fun to watch roaming videos unless it’s a condition Chrono montage with anime-themed music. So I’ll watch all of these anyway (:

Reaper or Necro for WvW solo roam?

in Necromancer

Posted by: SpellOfIniquity.1780

SpellOfIniquity.1780

I enjoy vanilla Necromancer but truthfully, Reaper is better.

My siphon build does quite well against Druids if I can avoid Ancient Seeds. It does well against pretty much everything in fact besides evade/stealth heavy things like Daredevils and Chronomancers.

Druids often let the conditions tick on them which is a big part of what my build’s sustain relies on (Parasitic Contagion). So as long as I can maintain a few conditions on them and can avoid getting Immobilize locked down, I usually end up out lasting them. I think that comes down more to skill than build, however. The really good ones are smart enough to not feed my Life Force when Spectral Armor is up and will CC on leaving stealth so I can’t avoid the lockdown, though. In which case their advantages will trump my skill.

Over all, Reaper is undeniably better, but I think it’s important to play with what you’re best with. I win plenty of fights as a vanilla Necromancer with all the disadvantages that everyone is familiar with because it’s what I find most comfortable.

Does 'best' equate to 'cheesy'?

in WvW

.
So an example would be that lovely incendiary ammo P/S scrapper with double elixir S, stealth gyro, gear shield and normal shield who hangs around a tower and doesn’t venture out further than his elixir S procs will get him back in. Loads up a target with burns and 4-5 other conditions and melts them before running away, waits on cool downs and does again, that is cheese.

P/s?

Hahahaha you have no idea what you are even talking about. No one in their right mind use the shield nowadays. A p/s engie is in now way capable of “melting” anyone, just going p/s instead of p/p is a 50%+ drop in potential condi dps.

At best using toolkit then confusions can do some damage, but its still nothing compared to what a perplexity mesmer can do.

Most go tanky hammer today as even marauder can achieve tons of sustain with tons of damage on a scrapper.

The point is valid regardless. Which is that an intelligent player could easily defeat the Engi but most will feed the troll, playing on the Engi’s terms instead of their own.

This obviously doesn’t strictly apply to Engi as it could be any profession or build doing it. What I mean is that it’s still cheese because it’s not skill, it’s just abusing the stupidity of your opponent. And the person doing the cheesing doesn’t even have to realize that.

Engi shield is crap, though.

Bannering the Lord

It takes upwards of 30 minutes to kill the lord in SMC if defenders are flowing in. If uncontested, only 2 – 3 minutes but still, that sucker takes a lot of effort to bring down. So much so that I often see people building flame rams to help with depleting his breakbar.

If he were to suddenly get banner revived back to what is it, like 30 – 50% health? I would be unhappy. And I’m sure many others would feel the same, especially in those matches where SMC is all but unconquerable for the smaller servers.

in WvW

SpellOfIniquity.1780

Personally I define “cheese” as something that is minimal effort but not necessarily the most effective. Ghost Thief being a good example. It’s easy to fight if you know how to do it but it kills people with little – no effort for those who don’t know how to fight it. Or another example being trapper Guard. Easy to fight if you know how, destroys people who don’t. I consider that “cheese” because it’s not OP it just exploits the people who don’t understand how to fight it.

Rank, title or build do not determine skill. You can’t judge how good someone is going to be until you fight them. “Always assume your opponent is a genius until proven an idiot.”

I don’t know how to describe someone who’s good. All I know is that it doesn’t matter if they’re using a cheesy/OP/meta build or not. I can tell the difference between player skill and build carry. And I’m sure I’m not the only one.

SpellOfIniquity.1780

Rangers absolutely have one of the hardest hitting skills in the game with Rapid Fire. It can be prepped for massive shots, often pierces, has a very short cool down and a very long range. That weaponset also comes with a knockback every 15s and a stealth every 12s.

Druids can also have strong defensive sustain even when they are a bit glassy. Anyone that has ever tried to kill Quickcry will attest to just how tanky and slippery that class can be. Don’t even get me started about Druids and underwater combat.

Contrast to the thief that has to run SB to keep its sustained speed up which is enemic compared to the Druid Staff.

Against the current bunker meta it is very difficult for a thief to fight a large range of meta builds. Thieves are supposed to be a strong dueling class because it sure isn’t a skirmish or zerg class. The only thing the thief excels at now is scouting, picking off wounded players and ganging up on good players.

A lot of my ideas I listed here with some being changes to vanilla Necromancer and others being what I would like to see out of the Torch.

Beyond that, I’d really like to see something involving Glyphs that are usable while in Shroud. Maybe something that, for example; While not in Shroud creates an aura for a few seconds when activated. Foes that are within the radius of this aura receive long duration Fear + Torment. While in Shroud it creates an aura when activated that draws foes in and steals Life Force from them. Think trying to run up stream in water, you have a sort of gravitational pull for a couple seconds.

Server with "best" roamers/havok squads?

SpellOfIniquity.1780

-snip-

You’re missing the point entirely. Roaming will be defined differently depending on who you ask.

My opinion of it is that if you’re taking refuge in numbers, you’re not roaming, you’re havoc or gank.

I don’t expect anyone to agree because roaming is a vague concept. Most of what it is is doing “things” on a smaller scale. Back before servers were linked, some of the lower tiers considered zergs to be groups of 10+ yet in the higher tiers, 8 – 10 was a roaming group.

I don’t think guilds “shouldn’t play together” I just think they’re bothersome when they chase solos across the map in far too many numbers for that one person to fight against. May as well /sleep and let them get it over with because it won’t make a difference when they’ll hard res anyone who you manage to down.

I’ll just assume you’re defensive because you’re always hugging your guild, though. I mean if that’s what you like to do, all the power to you. My opinion shouldn’t interfere with your fun unless you think what I’m saying is somehow relevant.

SpellOfIniquity.1780

As far as I’m concerned, you are not roaming if you’re not putting yourself at a high level of risk. Which means you’re either solo or with 1 – 2 friends tops, looking for fights against 1 – 6 players/picking at the slow ones in a zerg, and actually taking the risk of being picked apart instead of having enough people that you can just hard res anyone who goes down.

Wasn’t you the guy that said to me that picking off people trying to catch with zergs wasn’t getting fights?

I said it wasn’t looking for fights, not that it wasn’t roaming. Since most people in zergs won’t be running builds that they’re capable of defending themselves with.

I’m being contradictory though, you’re right. My point was only that if you want a good fight, chasing zergs isn’t the right place to find it.

Server with "best" roamers/havok squads?

SpellOfIniquity.1780

Anyone who’s roaming in groups of 4 – 8 as a guild aren’t roaming. Half the point of roaming is the danger of it. You take away the risk, you’re just another insta-gib pain in the @ss for the players who are actually looking for fights.

I don’t know what people expect when they gank solos or pugs groups then laugh like “oh we’re so pro.” If you’re all communicating be it on TS or through group/squad chat, on top of being familiar with each other, you’re already at a huge advantage over any random groups you meet.

I was so confused when I read that buff to Maul. I mean I’m happy as a greatsword user but it just seemed really random? Maul has always been a good skill with decent damage and the cooldown, as far as I’m concerned, was perfectly okay.

No complaints about it getting buffed but it just seems weird considering it was honestly fine as it was. But hey, if they want to buff it alright, I’m down.

Will also be checking out shortbow for most of the day I think. I don’t expect anything great but I always like to try out new adjustments.

EDIT: And the SOTP nerf was a bit unnecessary IMO. Although Druid was able to maintain a pretty consistent flow of supportive boons, SOTP was never a huge issue. It was the mobility, stunbreaks and stealth that made it problematic to pin down. SOTP should have been left alone and I’m not particularly happy about seeing it nerfed.

EDIT 2: Maybe they buffed Maul to make up for all the Druid nerfs, lol. Like “okay we know you guys are getting hit pretty hard here so take a buff to a good skill.”

Some friends went to mag and say it’s great cause it doesn’t feel like they need to carry the players around them while roaming.

Very much how I feel, honestly.

What I look for when I transfer is players that I can depend on when I’m roaming in a small, squadless group and people I genuinely enjoy speaking with and seeing in the chat.

Mag has a whole lot of trolls but you learn to love them if you’re not overly sensitive. The only people that get upset by it are the ones that take every joke on a personal level.

I enjoy being able to wander about by myself, getting in to trouble and being able to trust that when an allied player happens by they most times will be of good support.

It’s a good server and one I plan to stay on for awhile. It’s just unfortunate that so many have bandwagoned to it (and for the record, I moved prior to it’s popularity, #hipster) and diluted the community.

On the flip side when I roam I find almost exclusively builds that are designed to run away when things get sketchy, or groups of 2-3 people picking on singles. I’m convinced at every level people want to stack whatever they can to their advantage rather than have a good fair fight. Hide in a pile of people, or run cancer builds in small roaming scale setups, in either case people don’t want to actually test their skills they just want to get easy wins.

I don’t know if there’s a way to get people to actually push themselves, but it’s certainly not just a large scale battle thing.

It really is very true.

Admittedly I fall in to the run away category but for the record, I never run from a 1v1 if I think where we’re fighting is a wise place to fight.

I don’t blame people for not wanting to lose. Roaming is a punishing hobby, I can’t say it’s wrong of someone to run from death when they’ve probably died plenty enough in the last few hours thanks to all the blobs that love to run down solos.

Expect people to run when things look grim and it’ll be easier to prevent them from doing so. You’re absolutely right, most people don’t want a challenge, they just want to inflate their ego. Just remember not to get too spiteful of those that run away. Frustrating though it might be, I think most players are afraid of getting a cow dropped on their face, siege thrown on their corpse, emoted on or being left to bleed out. No one likes to be mocked and yet a lot of players love to do it.

They’re all the same. I’ve been on every server NA with the exceptions of; DR, BG and AR. Have also been on 3 EU servers.

The communities have subtle differences and personalities but in the grand scheme of things, there’s little difference.

EU roamers are slightly better than NA in terms of skill while their zergs are actually slightly worse.

As for individual server “best”(s), I would say that TC, FA and HoD have some of the better solo/small scale roamers. Mag used to have a lot of solid roamers but ever since it got bandwagoned, nearly everyone has become a zergling. So I’m truly not sure of the state of the server from the other side. As far as I can tell, many of our veteran roamers have left or caved to the blob-life.

I can’t think of many guilds off the top of my head that are formidable solo/small scale but I would recognize them in-game if I saw them. I’m familiar with fighting you, actually, assuming you’re the blue-scarfed Thief. You’re quite good as are a couple of your other guild mates but the same doesn’t hold true for all of you. Much like 95% of the other common roaming guilds, the bads are carried by the couple that are truly good.

As for the OP, though. I couldn’t choose just one. I know many good roamers that have my utmost respect spanning many different servers. That’s why it’s fun to transfer and meet new people all the time (:

Is rediculous how hard downed state carries too many players.

Couldn’t agree more.

Can’t tell you how many kitten times I’ve been winning an outnumbered fight and lost because I couldn’t get a stomp off in time. Drives me insane when I’m doing well in a 1vX but I end up losing because I can’t safe stomp or because one of them rallies.

I enjoy outnumbered fights but the downed state thing can be a huge hindrance at times.

Only one person can rally from said NPC since the rally changes, right? I don’t think it’s a big deal either way, honestly. Though I see your point, in my many, many hours of WvW, it has rarely been a real issue.

As someone else here has said, NPC’s helping you by blinding or stunning someone happens a lot more often. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten a free stealth from the pistol NPC’s by using Ranger GS #3 Swoop to leap through their invisible Smoke Field.

SpellOfIniquity.1780

Hmm, if i say trapper thief and condi mesmer , all are fine with that ?

Yes, that’s good.

I’m just tired of seeing the same thread pop up every week from someone asking for conditions to be nerfed.

Me being rude and complaining about the people complaining won’t fix anything but I’m only human, it gets on my nerves.

Condi tank Chrono and D/D condi evasion Thief need to be adjusted. All the other condition builds are perfectly fine if you know how to fight them. Even condi tank Chrono isn’t so bad if you know how to fight it but the amount of conditions it can maintain are the problem.

Imo people need to adjust their builds to counter condis. Wonder if its because most ppl run metabattle builds instead of custom builds. Nothing like knowing what 80%+ of ppl in WvW are running as soon as you see them to know that they suck to condis.

This is also totally true. Most people just slap together a meta build or some variant of it and call it a day. Never concerning themselves to add some condition clears or to ask if said build functions adequately in smaller scale.

People need to start experimenting with builds. It’s fun to make something that you can call your own, especially when it’s well rounded enough that it can function in a number of different roles.

Nothing wrong with liking the meta but you can’t blame the people who build to counter the meta.

There won’t be.
Condition builds are not fun and not strong at all in WvW.
The only thing they excel at is 1v1 and annoy other roamers.
They have poor killing potential. Just leave them alone and let them quit the game themselves feeling bored. If you keep feeding to them, it will only increase their number.

Did you ever ran into a bunch of condi spammers? If so you wouldn’t say theyre not strong in wvw. And yeah just leave em alone thats all you want to do when doing wvw….

Haha, what you got 3v1’d by a bunch of people with condition builds now you think conditions are overpowered?

You realise you’d have died even faster if they were all glassy berserker/marauder builds, right?

I’ve seen plenty of builds that crit upwards of 10k while still managing to be incredibly tanky. Dragonhunter’s, Berserkers, Heralds, Chronomancers, Reapers and Scrappers to name a few. They might not always be using defensive stats in their gear but the sheer amount of access they have to blocks/invulns, condition clears/Resistance and health recovery more than makes up for their lack of Toughness/Vitality. Warriors, Reapers and Scrappers have plenty of health to begin with.

The whole “conditions are OP and need to be nerfed. Condition builds have so much health and armor but still do so much damage” routine is so ridiculous to be complaining about in the current meta. Many times I’ve seen the aforementioned classes tanking outnumbered fights with glassy power builds but no one seems to think that’s a problem. If a condition build does it? NEEDS NERF!

Yes let’s nerf conditions because a couple builds that happen to be condition are overpowered.

While we’re at it let’s cut power damage in half because I’m tired of Heralds critting me for 15k.

/sarcasm off

Just because a couple builds are over performing does not mean conditions need to be nerfed across the board. Target what’s causing the most problems instead of destroying a play style entirely.

What I took from the Druid changes is that it will have less personal heals but more support heals. Meaning that the heals it applies to itself won’t be quite as potent as they currently are but it may see a rise in group roles.

Any suggestions for off-hand dagger improvements and a set of sand trap utilities?

I really like Deathly Swarm to be honest. Ever since the velocity increase I’ve found it to be in a good spot.

As for Enfeebling Blood – It’s a slow skill that’s difficult to properly land on moving targets (speaking from a PvP/WvW perspective). Weakening Shroud is quite effective however so I think it might be beneficial to do the following;

Have the skill function the same as Weakening Shroud in that the ground target is removed and it becomes a source AOE. Increase the Weakness duration, have it convert 2 boons instead of 1, reduce the cast time/change the animation to a quick self-stabbing gesture, and maybe do something like this -

If the skill hits someone, it functions as normal. If it does not hit anyone, there’s a 3 second delay before it explodes and does AOE damage + boon conversion to Weakness x2. That way it can work with either condition builds or power builds.

Clarification: if it hits a target, it Bleeds, Weakens and converts 2 boons. If it does not hit a target, it charges for 3 seconds before exploding something like “Chilled To The Bone!” and does moderate – high AOE damage + converting any 2 boons to Weakness.
