How about an even more brittle glass cannon thief in light armor? Or dagger/pistol in heavy armor?
Honestly though, I think this messes with the balance too hard. Classes are balanced around their armor class, and as long as that new specialization doesn’t extremely limit what classes can do it will only result in total chaos. At that point, however, you could just add completely new classes instead.
Therefore, I’d rather see new uses for old weapons with future elite specializations.
I must say I really enjoy the composition of characters for DE 2.0. Yes, men are underrepresented, but then again it’s usually women who are underrepresented and all the heroic deeds are reserved for men only. So it’s only fair to have a female dominated group of heroes for once.
One could say that Braham, as a Norn, counts as twice the “usual” man, but I find that he also does not fit into the stereotypical male role of an unstoppable Rambo-type hero. He shows his insecurities and emotions, cares a lot about the young Taimi and generally emphasizes the soft side of men, which is very unusual for a hero.
As I said, I like that Anet chose to have this group composition. It’s a welcome deviation from the male dominated norm and puts female heroes into the spotlight.
Should Taimi have been a boy? Hell no! DE 2.0 is perfect the way it is.
The challenge I see for Oceanic players is your region has some miiighty unusual mobs! I mean bouncy things with pouches! Dogs in mean-dog disguises! Who knows what skills to use on them?
The bouncy thingies with pouches seem to be very ferocious melee fighters, so I’d opt for ranged combat or heavy use of blinds and blocks.
I have also heard of tiny spider mobs that hide in your armor (especially in your striders/war boots) and badly poison you if you try to equip said gear. Very nasty.
Finally a game were the Oceanic population doesn’t complain about severe lag though. However, it seems PvE there is absurdly difficult, every mob is trying to kill you and they oneshot you like you’re paper. Poison also seems incredibly imbalanced, and condition removal is really sparse… Also, don’t even try underwater combat, it’s like the devs don’t even care about balance there. I definately recommend changing to a European or NA server for the lower levels and go back to the Australian maps if you have max gear and want to try hard mode.
Well, they have said that they are working on a WvW overhaul, though it won’t come until later 2016…
Or they could add a random crest/orb to the dungeon rewards. That would solve two problems at once. The attractiveness of doing dungeons and the price of orbs would balance each other.
I guess I will work on the other gifts before continuing the gemstone grind and just see if Anet intervenes somehow. It’s not like mystic coins are getting any cheaper either…
I wouldn’t want to have this in regular PvE, as there already is an excess of visual noise. However, I would love it if binding a legendary would unlock an associated finisher (for PvP/WvW) in the style of the legendary.
That would be amazing!
That is unfortunate, but I guess I could live with that. Thank you for your reply
Just to make sure I understand how the terrace pass works:
You doubleclick it from anywhere in Tyria and get teleported to the terrace, doubleclick it again and teleport back to your original location?
Thinking about getting one and just want to make sure it works like I think it does
I had the same problem, that the rate I could craft ascended weapons at was basically determined by the vision crystal I received monthly from the chest of loyalty. I also got that fragment eating star at Wintersday and thought I could never use it.
Then I started playing in the Silverwastes and opened a few chests, and was literally bombarded with Empyreal fragments.
It’s the easiest way to get them, I suggest you try it
Yeah you need 2250 orbs and/or crests/doubloons to create the 250 amalgamated gemstones that are needed for the new legendaries. Hence the price increase.
Yes, the weapon will have a different skin. I changed a Tequatl’s weapon to another stat combination once and was surprised that the skin changed too. If you want to keep the skin, you have to transmute it back.
I just hit level 63 with my revenant and was eager to receive my piece of exotic equipment, but unfortunately, there was non. The box said it was a reward for that level, but no item was displayed and when I clicked OK I did not receive anything. As classes get fixed items, I guess the revenant is missing in the appropriate tables?
Also, any chance I can still get my item?
