You think so? How do you propose we cap T3 towers or keeps with multiple decently sized forces? I thought I observed this problem in action the past few times I was on JQ BL.

And yes, Blackgate is really rather awfully overstacked. The fact that we are queued almost 24/7 on all four maps while JQ patently isn’t is just no fun. Now that the lead JQ built up (backed by upgraded towers and keeps) is gone, it looks like it’ll be a one-way street from here.

You mean no other server has a SEA force? Yeah, Foo has large numbers and great commanders but they play normal SEA time and except for some of the first matches after GW2 started there were guilds like WM which could field ~even numbers and other SEA guilds on SoR, BG, SoS, SBI.
The ZDs timezone is not covered at all, even RG played EU time because many of their players were GMT+2 and not GMT+3-4.

The problem with timezones is that a gap from 1-2 hours decides matches. That’s the main problem on the big three.
Maybe you should lookup the history of your server.

So, now remember that this recruitment thread brought you more SEA coverage, while having the best OCX and EU coverage at the given time.

None of the big three should have those gaps, but they always existed. JQ never had huge OCX or EU over a longer period. SoR solved the EU problem by recruiting IRON and could fight your EU, but they lack coverage in at least two other timezones. Meanwhile BG didn’t show up in the last week before the season and called out “that JQ is even more stacked”. That lie worked until week 2, when you totally rolled SoR with your server finally showing up in full force and bringing ZDs to close the last possible hole in your gap.

I’m really looking forward to season 2 and hoping ZDs is joining SoR or SoS or TC and we will see what happens.

People have been saying WvW is dying since month 2.

Leagues have put more people into WvW than have been in there for months, the queues were bad, for all servers in that first week, thats a GOOD THING for WvW, it means people are playing, and it means people find that its worth waiting for. If the devs had put even an ounce of thought into the schedule, we wouldn’t have this stupid repetitive matchup problem, and JQ SOR and BG would probably all have full queues still.

If queues get too long for individuals, or even for guilds, they will transfers off and go lower, something I think everyone can agree is a good thing. That was DIEs main reason for leaving SOR and BG has lost several guilds to it and after seasons are over I’m sure some more will too.

Things will continue to shift and change just like it always has.

^^^ignores the fact that the queue’s were filled with PvE achievement hunters not people invested in WvW.

I know BG guilds don’t GvG to whoever commented that, they don’t open field.
BG players are the contractor kings of GW2, they build walls, they build siege, they repair when there is damage, and they turn wooden gates into iron ones. They are then so proud of their hard work and craftsmenship that they sit inside the walls they built and sit in awe at the siege and walls they have built . Goodwork guys Ben Allen and the Home Improvements team would be happy.

Your 2 hour video is still coming ,along with many shorter ones, Uncut 15-20 minute videos and the mega 2 hour video. So you can keep up the nonsense babble on the forums about Bg and DIE running etc. SoR has known for weeks we wre going to leave if we couldn’t get our EST time crew away from ques and if we couldtn get open field fights as a guild due to ques. Not to mention we will come back ,and since you are all ready to go ,whose the first open field guild fight or gvg when we com back?

Silver league has a lot less PPT and a lot more fights to offer. Id go as far to say as aside from a few guilds on SoS and MaG , a few on SoR ,NS from JQ, and PlX from BG, t1 has little to offer open field and gvg guilds. Silver a lot less focus on PPT and a lot more guilds that want to gvg and fight. Don’t disrespect the guilds or players from “lower” tiers. There not lower due to skill, but lower due to coverage .

We have sports in real life that poach players all the time, its accepted practice, to the highest bidder goes the spoils.

But in sports (at least in US sports leagues) this is generally regulated by salary caps — preventing teams from dominating just by having deeper pockets.

Well also about this in sports you have in a sense a never ending amount of people to sign. This game doesn’t really apply to that theory, sure we get and x amount daily into the game. Though we can’t just sign this and that person right over. Sure it is just for winning, but it is quite sad that no one wants to stays in BG lol they just want their money and to go back to where they came from.

Interesting answers. WvW is full of rangers. I see quite a few mesmers, too. We have some prominent commanders in TC who are mesmers. And thieves are a major pain in the kitten. I don’t understand how those guys trashing the other guys’ supply over and over and over isn’t useful.

That’s the difference between BG & SoR. BG guilds are PvX and recruit as many people as they can. More people = more ppt

SoR is hardcore WvW orientated with a bigger focus on guild quality. CHOO/TW/FEAR/Hel/IRON/ONE/RISE are all under 150 quality members each and are hardcore WvW. We like to keep it that way. We don’t have a warchest. We don’t buy guilds. We don’t field insane numbers into oceanic, or massively recruit. But at the end of the day, we keep our dignity. Grats on the finisher, Blackgate. Then why are sor crying about BG stacking when SOR are focusing on quality and decent fight? Isn’t it better if the opponent shows no quality and you get to show them what is the real skill? I don’t understand, this is like the puzzle of the century.

I don’t know who fired the first shots, but to answer your question on my end and probably a lot of other rallians. The fact that BG is saying SoR has completely given up the fight, which is not true, we are not fighting as hard as the first 2 weeks because most of us are used to only playing within our time zones and minimally outside of it, when the league started the feveor of 1st place took over and many people overplayed. After the weekend is over our score grdually tanked in the first week, then drop massively in the 2nd week. Most of us realise there is no way we can compete with the coverage. certain times of the day we can only maintain and slowly bleed until our timezone ends and SEA/Early NA takes over, by then we have lost by many PPT.

Start of the 3rd week, PPT war has ended for SoR, we went back to just playing in our own time slot, or at least minimally, while BG still hang on to it’s coverage. As with any server though, demoralization of the pugs and possibly WvW guild members is always the case in these situations, so the numbers of those drop drastically on SoR. While BG pugs see’s the win and every pug and their mother joins in the fight. Keeping the numbers lopsided.

Personally, I am here for the fights and not really sure how or why the back and forth of this pointless thread started. I do have a few friends on BG from my old server and one of them did question me on why SoR quit the match, and I only try to explain to him as I do now, but his fear was losing guilds on BG because a lack of a fight on SoR. And I don’t think he whole hearted believed me when I told him SoR OC this week is pretty much how it has been every week, that is how much we have every time we play.

But I know some BG will keep going on about every SoR quitting WvW. But I can assure you the WvW regualrs are always there doing their best every day, regardless of what goes on in this thread.

I didn’t say PUG group, that’s your projection. I said “explicitly form groups; the PUGS can follow (whatever commander) who they want”. Take 7 TW with you, and off you go. Have 7 RISE follow one of their commanders, and off you go. 7 FEAR, 7 DIE, 7 LUN, 7 HEL, 7 WR, 7 GSCH, and whatever PUGs decide to follow you. You only need to keep a grip of your 7 guildies, and are you telling me a commander can’t keep 7 of his own in check?

TW is nothing short of pure art when it comes to combat in the open-field, but you’re panicky, rank amateurs at prioritizing targets on the map and at having an overarching plan before the match even starts. Starved for supply, you rush off to save a tower but give up 2 camps. You send your only large force to capture a keep while THEIR only large force takes garrison. You win fights, but lose objectives. Always have.

You break up into smaller groups often, really? So where are the results? The map looks the same to me. When the BG zerg is focused on us for 10+ minutes as we assault Bay, I scan the map and see no camps flipping, no other objectives with swords, and all of the ruins held by BG…what are your mythical splinter groups doing, “strategizing” in TS? Pffft….

In pvp. I put it on passive all the time but I key bind “sending them to atk” and “coming back”.

So it doesn’t run to die and I have fully control on my pet.

All the games I have played they have worse pet than this game so far.

Rarely do EU guilds come to NA, and IRON tucks tail and runs at the first sign of a competitive battle.

Iron, if run before 6pm UK time always would be lucky to push 20 people. Against 40+ (generally much more then this) there is next to no chance of success unless you can farm a choke point, which is only possible against idiots.

6pm-8pm Iron is starting to ramp up their forces. this 20 people will eventually reach 30-35 on a good night and carry through for a few hours. However by this time ZD has logged off and their map blob has dispersed and replaced by COIN/HB/RK map blobs. These hand holder guilds are fought constantly whilst IRON has a significant number disadvantage without complaint. Sure we may lose the battle or cut our losses however generally more are killed then lost.
It been hilarious the last couple of nights when IRON and COIN had equal numbers, after one loss COIN would not engage until RK and the rest of the blob arrived. They would literally hide/run until the others near. Yet no complaints, hell it a compliment that they are so scared they need to hand hold.

ZD do not fit into EU prime time, they log within 1hr of EU time starting to ramp up. People with family generally come home from work at 5pm, spend time with wife/children and eat dinner and then start to play. Sorry if you lonely and dont get to do that, but we not going to demand people to take time of work or ignore their real life to fight some russian’s that play in an unoccupied time zone.

Sure we may get a 20man group out in future matchups when we got some people back that fit in that slot (and/or want to lead in that slot), BUT said group will not be able to do much in regards to open field fights against the 50+ man blob that ZD will be running at the time… and sitting behind arrowcarts so you can farm said groups is not the IRON playstyle so you wont see it happen.

The ONLY way that ZD will find any competition in NA is if another russian guild comes over to either SoR or JQ (or one the tier 2 servers). Likelyhood of this will be slim.
You would know that even in the EU servers that Russian timezone has always been a key one that gave servers a significant advantage. I faced off against them many times at various levels and it always has been the same.

Anyways, that me just back from being out with the family for halloween. Gonna go relax

RK runs 10-15 and sometimes 20 that is all the RK we can pull out on a good day.

The months and months of IRON talking crap on the forums where we where the only ones fighting you, but i guess some resistance and all of sudden the world is ending.

Us in RK have had this kind of odds before and we know how to handle them and if the RK blob is to big for you to handle then maybe you need to do what we did. Change your entire play style.

Hell if was in your shoes i would be stoked. 30-40 members and an entire blob to murder. That sounds like fun to me.

If i can not win i will make a new plan and try again it is the RK way.

I would like to say that BG has some of the bests commanders and harcore players from GW2 :
- Sehoon Sword
- Ongm
- Mayoken
- Prince Jarvàn
- RawNoodles
- etc…

About newcomers I don’t know yet. All I know is that BeastGate is gathering most experimented wvw and spvp players atm.
So it’s most likely BG will really win S01 league with no doubt earlier than at week 7.

SoR will be the kingmaker of S01. Since the first match vs. BG has been a loss for SoR, it’s more than likely that SoR will see 3rd place S01. I can also state that the majority of SoR would rather see JQ win S01 than BG, so no, I’d bet that BG will not win S01.

What’s really funny, and I bet the people of Anet are laughing, is that prior to S01, the tier 1 trinity was roughly balanced, probably the most balanced of any tier. Then comes WvW Season 1, and all 3 servers are trying to stack every time slot, throwing balance to the wind.

And for what, a gold dolyak finisher, and probably a half-dozen chests with blues and greens. Someone at Anet has a devious sense of humor.

It’s a long time until week 7. It’s also a long time untill BG vs JQ . If SoR prefers to play PvF instead of WvW then we will likely win it all until we meet JQ.

What I find rather annoying about IRON PVkitten on this forum though is that those here from IRON guild that do it, do not actually represent the guild well at all.
Both Wrex and Lumar from IRON are really nice, calm and friendly people, honourable in defeat and gracious when winning.
The few of you here from IRON continually being abusive, chest thumping for weeks on end and trolling all the time are doing more of a disservice to the guild you represent than anything else. Childish and immature.

As an iron officer we tried to do our best to stop forum trolling but you can`t tell individuals to stop . it`s a game and this game is full of childish people as in any game and besides it`s 2-3 regular posters as anyone should know the posts on here don’t represent the guild/server .
