GIT Into the Fight!

Git Off My Lawn [GIT] of Devona’s Rest (NA) is welcoming new members!

We are a casual, laid back, and ready to help type of guild. We have members of all experience levels and our guild chat is usually pretty active with question/answers or just general tom foolery. We also have a TeamSpeak and use it to increase our tom foolery We enjoy each other’s company and many have found it easy to fit into our diverse group of gamers as long as they share that casual/laid back gaming mindset.

We enjoy all aspects of the game. We are frequently found in PvP, fractals, wandering around Tyria, killing world bosses, and we have all guild missions open and we complete them weekly in tandem with another DR guild. We do pride ourselves in having a presence in WvW on Devona’s Rest though. We really hope to help grow the population here through our own guild recruitment! We run mostly during NA Prime (5pm-11pm Eastern on weekdays and sporadically all weekend) and our guild events generally happen around 8:30pm Eastern. If we sound like a fun group, and you play during a different time period, we are always open to having someone start up a GIT population during different time zones! Don’t let the timezone stop you from reaching out.

How do you think this will impact the already dying servers? When the higher tier servers open up, do you expect our lower tier servers to lose even more? The 5 people left on the T8 servers are surely already considering transfer. If they had their pick without any caps, what would be someone’s incentive to stay and keep those last few servers with any PPT at all? Would having the T8 people transfer be beneficial to the game?

I can see how this is good, but I can also see how it could easily help already thriving servers, but could hurt the ones struggling the most.

I prefer rose colored glasses to poo covered words I’m sorry that you haven’t been as involved in the community or if you’re not winning you’re unhappy, but this is what we are right now. You can try and help and encourage people to come here, or hurt yourself and the server by posting negative feedback in a place that is actually TRYING to improve your DR experience by growing our population. By trying to hurt the PVFers, you are shooting yourself in the foot.

I love all of my server mates showing their support and love and as our BP friend said, we aren’t just putting up a “carebear faccade”. We have silly events like you see above and hang out as a community (in our forums, on Facebook, via Twitter, as well as in game) and that interaction is stronger every day! Join us #DRstrong

DR groups consistently take down groups that outnumber us. What we don’t have in numbers, we bring in skill! Whether a guild or an individual, if you are interested in being something bigger than a blob…be a part of the rebuilding of DR. Take the time to hone your skills while roaming and fighting small groups out of our camps. Bust an enemy zerg with your guild. Lead a server zerg and/or siege a keep and beat the baddies. There’s room for all types here and you will be IMPORTANT here. It’s bigger than numbers, it is something you can be an active part of. Not just a ghost or a face in the crowd. Stand up and be noticed on DR! Come to a community you can be proud of and that will in turn be proud of you (because we know you’re there!!).

Welcoming new members to the lawn!

In November of 2014 we were created with Devona’s Rest WvW defense in mind (hence the name), but members that have joined are much more diverse in their interests. As the PvX states, we like a little bit of everything. We have a PvP presence (individuals get in and sometimes play together), we enjoy the HoT content, we have people working on fractals, crafting legendaries, and we get into WvW a couple of times a week (individually we have people in daily). We enjoy helping new people learn the ropes of whatever they would like to learn. We also enjoy people that can continue to teach us stuff. So no matter how much experience you have, join our growing family All we ask is that you can have fun with us. Anyway…the basics about what we are…

Being a defensive person on a lower pop server, I have not enjoyed the lack of white swords. I read the previous posts and I am envious of the people that have had more people embracing defense during this time. If there’s no wp, it’s expendable. Very “edge of the mist” except some of us are spending our time and gold to upgrade and siege things just to lose it because 5 people can’t be everywhere, but their 5 people have enough for one or two catas and know that we can’t be everywhere.

I could see how this could be a great thing on some of the higher tiers. I’m glad it’s working out. Just not sure if it’s the best time for it (until anet gets the server populations balanced out a bit more…otherwise,you might not have to balance anything if all of the lower tier players transfer up or quit the game…then you could just delete the bottom servers and no one would notice…I feel like I just solved world hunger with that last piece lol)

Bumping this for DR. We are still welcoming OCX/SEA folks! We have a good base with solid leadership in this timezone, but they can use your help! This is a great group! Lots of knowledge to share with anyone that joins their ranks! A valued part of a great server… Oh and they are super fun and have a great rapport that makes it easy to be around them

Love DmD! They know what they are doing in WvW, but also never stop laughing! It’s always fun to run with this group and they are a vital piece to DR’s continued success. Join up!

I can’t vouch for the bois’ looks, but I know I never mind getting on TS and listening to them command maybe a little creepy, but oh so true lol DR could host a radio show with our smexy voices!
