BG move into tier1 with a bad timing because Anet decide to close free transfer while we’re still adapt ourselves to tier1. Close free transfer will cause a mass exodus from bottom tiers to upper tiers. BG aint yet get a solid footground in tier1 yet. The mass exodus caused SBI/IoJ to dissipate and those most of SBI/IoJ folks never have BG in their first list. (Because they hate us in blood when we fought in tier1 long ago like 2 weeks? lol) The mass exodus moved to JQ and SoR.

Also it make things worse in tier2 that SoR is getting a lot of transfer while TC havent get much. SBI rating drop in combination of SoR’s ownage make them a huge rating boost which may make them kick BG off from tier1. It may not be next week but it will be in the next two week as SBI lose a lot of guilds and surely wont have enough to cover the ground from SoR.

But nevertheless, we will fight with what we have with the time remaining we have. Even we need to get a chill pill in tier2 for a week or two, we will climb up again. (Beside, a week vacation with TC should be nice enough for us as they all are very nice compared to what being in tier1 :P)

There is no guaranteed that SoR is going to get their spot next week :P Eventhough we get pushed back to tier2, im bet we will able to climb up there again with ease!

How come after we left tier2, SoR reign supreme with 500+ PPT during oceanic time? Did they received new oceanic guilds transferred to SoR that i didnt aware of? Or it’s just SBI’s lack of influence?

Their 15man is quite strong. You just need to have a bit more number than them and be note to spread out, dont cluster. Cluster vs Cluster you’re going to die because their team heavily stack with proper classes and spec with all the time buffs for every players. Just spread out, try to CC their group and AoE em from range.

But yea they’re very hard group to deal with and very mobile around the open field. Kudos to their teamwork.

We got 21 in the server, playing with 13-15 players now. In all honesty these all t1 servers are full in every time zone, not quite what we tought before hand. Were hoping for slightly smoother transfer but doesn’t look like it’s gonna happen.
Won’t stop us from having some ballsdeep fights tho. o/

Yesterday while we have an overtime shift toward EU, we found you in SoS BL while we tried to golem rush Hill. Eventhough we need like 20-30 ppl to withstand your 15 ppl squad, i gotta say you guys are skilled. The coordination so far between people, the class composition, the speed of movement was insane just like a small bouncing ball of death. Prop to you RG, welcome for the fun in tier1 evenif it’s just for a week!

If you nerf AoE, you encourage more zergling style method, just stack the people in a paintrain and win. AoE make them use more brain not to stand in fire or in AoE, make Meta game better for WvW.

If you nerf the kitten out of AoE, this game is kittened. (And my elementalist staff is kittened as well since all she has is AoE spell… and im already deal kitten dmg compared to a theif who can crit me 20k…)

I can’t speak a lot about Oceanic because I’m usually asleep, but you know we have some of the best Oceanic as well with Thai, Urge ND DS LLB the list goes on.

Seperate Oceanic from SEA. Thai Urge ND DS LLB usually SEA. Oceanic is more Australian which is earlier than SEA prime. That’s our weakness where everything start to fall. SoS/JQ have heavily australian guilds.

I love you JQ/SoS tier1. You have turned my guild from a lousy 5-10 man WvW attendance to 10-25 man with tier1’s hype and challenge it provided. In tier2 with 500+ PPT at our prime, not much challenge there thus not so many people in my guild do WvW.

Now when we start it’s either lone garrison with outer wall down from both server side treb, or lone overlook with inner wall down lol. (Bad bad BG Oceanic :P Get more Aussie here!) It’s pretty much very challenging and fun despite all the stressful moment. Today we made it! from almost-get-captured lone Overlook to Full upgraded/supply overlook with SM! Told you BG will never give up!

It is easy to motivate people to show up in wvw when the server has an influx of wvw-oriented guild transfers. Guilds like AGG and DIE who transferred to Sos only play gw2 for the wvw aspect of the game, so it is not difficult to get them to show up in wvw. If Sos did not have these transfers and was still able to get their massive force from just their native players, then they can make the claim that they are better than other servers at getting PVE players to show up in wvw.

If SOS didn’t have guilds like AGG and DiE we would still be in tier 5. What’s your point?

Btw: Please seperate Oceanic and SEA. Oceanic prime time is like 2-3 hours before SEA prime time. Thai is SEA. Oceanic is basicly Australian, and i believed AGG and DiE is Oceanic. We dont have much oceanic coverage judging from our forum guild list. All those hardcore WvW australian is now in SoS/JQ.

Also talking about guild size, Thai is PvX guild not WvW guild, actives only around 60ppl per day (include those who do just dungeons) with WvW attendance only 10-20ppl everyday. That’s not “big guild” in my book. (Also RUIN is just restart anew, now they only field 10-20ppl in WvW too, not like ET RUIN anymore)

We hope February patch will bring some light to our members so that may be we can turn from this lol 10-20ppl group into massive 50ppl group like early GW2 era so that it can expand our tactic and coverage more. Right now we just run around trying to defend with what we have. Still I’m sure AGG/DiE/FOO etc each have more than 10-20ppl average, which is surely more than us.

But i do agree on one thing that our PUG isnt that ready for this sheer hardcore tier1 WvW yet. They need to adapt a lot more even myself im unable to record cool vid yet because every seconds of my movement count here in tier1, and i prefer not to have fps lag that affect my WvW performance

We have quite a hole during Oceanic prime time (Aussie’s guild) as well as our NA is not as strong coverage as JQ/SoS. JQ’s heavy SEA also negate our SEA we have. It’s also kinda hard for players to reclaim what being lost especially those main keep with warp (like overlook for example). In order to get that back might take you hours and ton of effords in the event that the server who got it can fielded the entire map up while the others cant.

I dont think we’re ready for tier1 yet, but the system forced us to be here. Tier2 coverage is no match what we have, thus a straight bump to tier1. We know we’re going to lose, but we will fight with what we have and hoping the rise to tier1 can net us some great WvW guilds to transfer to help us. We have awesome guilds around, but it’s just not enough of them to compete. (Most of our big guilds field around 10-20ppl per session which isnt that huge compared to SoS/JQ guilds)

During weekend, we can compete because most of our NA/EU/Oceanic/SEA guilds are on hype and they mostly do double shifts so that we can field almost map with organized guilds. On weekday, it’s different ball game, the truth when we cant do double shift, we just dont have enough mass to stop your zergs.

[Thai] like to fight in tier1 more than tier2 to be honest as there are many challenged battles to be play everyday. Despite a stressful moment of being zergs by Sos/JQ on two fronts at the same time almost everyday, our people actually enjoy the fight more and it give us more motivated to join WvW. If you are bored with our NA peeps, get a day off and come meet us at NA morning time :P We’ll be there to greet you.

PS: Great fun in BGBL btw. At least we holded our garrison at our prime time and be able to ninja thai golem style @ hill/bay as usual

I’m still looking for the guild “Zero” representative in your server. This exploit evidence need to be deliver to and the measure need to be done. It is not a simple stupid wall jumping exploit that everybody can do. The warp portal poped up on top of the garrison cliff in front of my face with garrison no cross sword/no gate break/no wall damage, is not a normal threat.

Or if you cant find this “Zero” Guild, put someone in your alliance forum that actually care to receive my evidence to PM me their email so that you can go deal with it on your server meeting/forum. Cheap exploit like this shouldnt be supported by so called No1 server.

Players repping PRX have been spotted fighting for Blackgate. Will be interesting to see the status Quo change if they were to Transfer to Blackgate from Seafarers Rest. From a Sos Perspective I sincerely hope that’s not the case.

Blackgate would be a bad choice for PRX. Being a former member, they would have to contest already capped queues and have to put up with all the bads. Their record would get shot to bits and they would get frustrated at not being able to run like they usually do in numbers. They just have a few stragglers playing NA who lagged too much on euro.
There’s far better server choices for them if they decided to move.

Lol then what’s your best choice in NA? Join JQ/SoS who already at the top? That wasnt a challenge at all. BG is best bet now to strengthen our coverage which still lacking. TC/SBI/SoR all lacking oceanic coverage by margins compared to BG and yet BG that has “superior Oceanic/EU” coverage compared to SoR/TC still being severely hurt in tier1. The only two choices for them is JQ/BG, but JQ already there in tier1 long time (already won 1st as well) which doesnt provide challenge to them.

Now JQ is on 2nd. I hope they now can start to focus on SoS more so that we have some room to breath. We had been in BGBL Garrison for days during this weekend fending off both SoS/JQ double side attacks and i can dare saying that they arent looking forward to fight each other but us at all. But nevertheless, very epic fight in BGBL Garr for all sides I’m proud of all the BG guilds whom fight with us so far.

PS: SoS reps please find “Zero” Guild for me. Mesmer portal exploit like that aint cool you know? It’s even worse than a wall jumping mesmer.

Well we are not really zombies lol bc this weekend we’re pulling double shifts. Besides, the BG BL fight esp in Garrison’s was so kitten fun. Left/Right all walls/doors gone but we able to hold it. Double Thai’s ninja golem style at Bay&Hill afterward became just a teaser if you compared it to the Garr defend for hours

Actually, your logic is flawed there. It is known that SoR’s NA presence is a force to be reckoned with, and you guys have held over 200+ PPT almost every time, even in our prime time, and over 500+ PPT in your prime time. Doesn’t that tell you something? If it doesn’t, please think again.

Also, haven’t seen SoS posting multiple threads recruiting for their server because they already had around-the-clock coverage to begin with in T1.

Sor NA force to be reckon with? how long was ur last meeting w SoS? i would say it was more than 9 weeks. Nobody know the exact WvW attendance now apart from anet. Last time BG was in tier1, before entering ppl said ohhhh stackgate dont go there, we re 2nd HoD? then we got our butt kicked by jq and sbi.

and 500-600 ppt in tier2 mean nothing compare to tier1.

Recruitment in forum isnt wrong here, so we will do it as much as we could to try best not to repeat our old mistake during sbi/jq time. We need all we can get.

RUIN doesnt have much at the moment as ykyk said. They’re now rebuilding themselves in hope of February major patch will bring a lot of their old members back to GW2.

The score difference so far isnt really involved with RUIN alone. Blackgate have a lot of people in other guilds that’s not only limited to RUIN btw :P

You outnumber TC at least 3-6 to 1 every day of the week during the 3am – 10am EST timeslot on our own borderland (I have no idea if it will get worse and last longer as more people head back to work/school). Often times the numbers were worse than that.
I’m not sure what is challenging about mass mobbing a zone devoid of any significant number of TC defenders but perhaps you can let us know because it’s certainly not a challenge being put up by say… the opposing teams.
And yeah, I’d like to see Blackgate go to 3rd place in tier 1 for a few weeks. Their Oceanic is just mass mob, it’s alright. If Tier 1 has the numbers, they’ll mop the floor in NA, hold their own in Oceanic, game over.

The worst queue time in EBG is around 10min but the rest of the borderlands are still instant join so no queue time here in Blackgate. -Skilled players even PUGs! (May be my bias here :P)
-Compose of small-medium guilds mostly. We have no super big guild with 50+ WvW ppl here, so even any of us moving out, it wont effect the server much. Our group of medium guilds work well together forming solid performance rather than rely on 1-2 big guilds.
-Solid community We rised from the bottom most in the tier, even reached tier1 for weeks before, still our community stand strong! We also have http://www.blackgatewvw.com/ as our community website. And center Mumble/TS

Disadvantage:
-I have to admit, we right now lack of Pre Oceanic coverage, Australian. But things start to get better when there is no IoJ in the mix (IoJ composes of many aussie guilds)
-Lack NA coverage but still we managed to even things out during NA timezone sometimes. It’s not too bad but definitely our weak spot is NA coverage.

SoR and TC can provide you great fight as well especially in NA, if u asked me. TC has a slight edge over SoR in term of Oceanic coverage but SoR has pretty stronger NA.

However your fight still not over until friday! Keep on fighting!

Despite some of the negative comments from some SoR forum warriors, i gotta say SoR is a true fighter who keep fighting with us for more than 6 weeks without given up. Prop to them to be able to push us as hard as they could during any timezone.

BTW, where is Indo? It seems he dropped a bomb here for a week or two then suddenly dissapeared from the forum? I’m tired of coveragegate or zergate or allied drama now, need some new fresh drama from him

To be honest i dont see the neccesity of seperate this from the main WvW discussion thread. Plus i dont want to comment anything extreme here as it’s just a infraction added.

We all knew the NA coverage is our weak spot at the moment, hence our recruitment thread already stated clear what we really need. Dont think we need 3rd parties to emphasis on that.

at 0945 CST this today, SoR BL had at MOST 50 defenders. at this exact same time, BG had a que not only in our BL, but TC’s as well. SoR had no more than camp capping grps in all other maps combined. if anyone ever says BG is “lacking players” for oceanic coverage, keep this in mind.

Now there is no queue in any map. The only queue we had is when our oceanic guilds combined force to stomp one particular BL. And that queue only last 5minute. Still plenty of space for Oceanic, We also need more for tier1.

Actually it’s pretty straight forward logic. If 2nd want to be 1st, the 2nd must attack 1st. If 3rd want to be 1st or 2nd but only have one force to handle one opponent. If 3rd chose 1st without doing anything to 2nd, 3rd will still be 3rd. If 3rd chose 2nd, they might become new 2nd because the current 1st need to concentrate on 2nd anyway.

In my opinion, BG tend to fight SoR first anyway even in EBG due to the sheer hatred in forum for several weeks accumulated as well as the design of EBG (Overlook’s the hardest, Valley is easier). SoR got no choice but to retaliate BG’s attack and to defeat BG to get to the top. TC got a choice either BG or SoR. If TC choose BG, BG have to defend leaving SoR rising in points while TC may get more points but SoR also getting more points too meaning TC will still being 3rd unless TC perform both role hitting both SoR/BG at the same time.

Pretty logic. In the end the current ranking system also has to depend on the upper tier and the lower tier also. Currently upper tier still a bit undecided yet, if SBI still underperform, BG may get a shot there. For lower tier it’s now still tied so it’s all safe and sound for tier2 not to drop down to tier3.

Do u guys realised we have almost 2x more posts/views than Tier1’s thread? :P Definitely tier2 is a winner here!

I didnt ask the realms not to attack. I asked them, not to “focus attack” on us. While i can agreed that it might provide challenge to us but i dont think there is a need for a proper arrangment on that. You just hit whoever you think easiest to hit, or whoever yield the most profit to your server’s score.
