Weapon Skills Based on 'Stances'

This suggestion goes beyond warrior. The word Stance could be changed to fit other professions as well (example, elementalists could have “styles”).
However I main as a Warrior, so I’ll be covering that.

This suggestion is basic. Rather than us choosing which skills can be swapped out (as most skill suggestions are),
Why not just have more preset skill bars?!

The standard warrior great sword skill bar goes as followed.
1; decent speed, decent strength auto attack
2; fast and powerful 8 hitting attack
3; a short 1 direction evade that damages along its path
4; a weapon throw which comes back, damaging along its path
5; a long sprint which does a massive hit when your target is reached.
F1; doing a decent hit to 1 target, giving a nice Fury buff (but no one uses because we want 12% more damage and 9% more crit rate)

All skills have a generally short cool down
This skill set / Stance could be called Balanced, as it covers everything you need.
Yes. It covers everything a player needs (just about), but how about some diversity?!

Example; Tactician’s Stance
1; slower attacks, causing bleeds, last hit causes a short cripple
2;block by angling your sword down and covering your front side (Chain-> Exit shorter and preform a spin which causes a weak hit and knock back
3;roll back and evade (Chain-> Leap forward and slash whatever is unfortunate enough to be infront of you.
4;toss your sword like a javelin, causing a great hit on 1 target, and a short immobilization.
5;smash your target with the flat side of your great-sword, causing a stun
F1; Generating Momentum you whirl with your greatsword hitting 6 times, each hit faster than the last.

Example; Agile Stance
1; 2 decent speed decent hitting strikes, followed by a spin.
2; a ‘’blade dance’’ which essentially is a beautiful performance, striking foes one at a time in front, on both sides, and on your back side.
3; Slide foward 400range with a single thrust of your sword, pushing foes in the opposite direction they were hit
4; Leap at your target and strike vertically when landing causing vulnerability (Chain-> roll back
5; Stab your foe causing bleeding ~autochain~> Twist your sword to interrupt and cause more bleeding
F1; Activates like a signet, grants swiftness/quickness. (Adren levels; 5/2 8/2.5 12/3)


This could function as follows;
Equipping a weapon would give its generic skillbar.
However under the Weapon Skills Tab (H) you could check a box by each weapon for which Stance/Style you want to use.
^That being said, there would be no bar swapping in combat!


Ranger Longbow suggestions;
-Sniper Stance (More long range, with slower more powerful hits)
-Fearless Style (Closer, Quicker style, with evasive shooting)

Elementalist suggestions;
-Projectile Style (More projectile based casts)
-Casting Style (More cast times (1~3seconds) but more powerful end results)
-Wild Card (Like another generic skill bar giving a handful of skill types, just more variety)

Profession Swap- Keep 100% world map

I’m a warrior, and just last night I asked my guild who wanted to run some fractals.
No joke, 4 rangers from my guild joined me. We were all so scared at first….
It was the fastest fractal run I’ve done. Little downs, and all that great stuff.

People that hate on ranger, have never seen one geared to do damage. Its perfect.
Stand far away, hit high numbers, and pew pew pew, dodge dodge dodge.

As a warrior, I ran an evading balance build. (most of my skills allowed me to either know when to dodge, or just did a dodge for me. <3 endure pain)

10+ man dungeons, classes, skills

The design of GW2 is to have no classic trinity, and to never be stuck looking for groups.

With that being said, with some of the dungeons today, its hard enough to find 5 people, specially 5 capable people.
What the hell do you think would happen with 10 people dungeons?

Honestly. I’d love to see 2 man mini dungeons or something. That’d be great.
More times than not when I start a dungeon group I only can find 2 or 3 people off my friendslist or guild that want to go, and have to pug the rest.

I’ve had ideas for more weapon skills though… Anet doesnt want too much grind in their game. And most ideas involve grind heh for more skills

Dissolve small population guilds

People could just buy someone to actively log into their guild for 10minutes a day, every few days.

If they want to join a larger guild, no one is there to hold them back except themselves.

ranger spirits

Making the buffs go on you instead following (with the trait) is kind of over powered..

Think about the warrior banners (which finally just got buffed). They are plopped down, and stay there, unless someone runs to it, grab its, gets a useless skill bar (except skill 3 and sometimes 2), until they set it down to repeat the process.
That annoying task of moving the banners is their downfall (aka their balance).

Your ranger pets give some very nice buffs. (burning on critical?!)
You can even trait to make them follow you, unlike warrior banners.
(I clarify, I’m using the banners as a comparison as they do the same task essentially).
The fact they can die is their downfall (aka their balance).

Making these spirits attached to you makes you practically a god. Why would you run anything else? You’re a moving Ranger Banner at that point.

I can see instead of making the spirits follow you, perhaps they recharge faster, and when they spawn have X Time amount of Invincibility (if not are permanently).

Allow us to pick all traits.

Anyway, I think you might have misunderstood the mechanics of the second stage of the Claw’s battle. It isn’t just about “spanking” him from range, it’s about insuring that you can unleash an all out assault on the beast both from melee and range. You do this by weakening the Claw by having several golem self-destruct in his face. The whole point of the second stage is insuring that the group can get enough golem to the Claw so as to get him in a weaken state. Unfortunately, it is possible for players to position themselves so to constantly giving him damage at range. That needs to change imo.

Agreed. No one seems to care to do the second phase correctly. So much stacking on the ledge to spam range/charzooka and not actually contribute to anything useful. Honestly, I am pretty sure that helping the golems through to stun the Claw nets greater damage overall than just standing there on the right ledge and spamming 1.

If that could change, this fight would be more interesting. It’s already the only meta event other than the Megadestroyer and the Orrian temples that involves more than stacking in a spot and attacking.

Like, honestly, for a thread about revamping world bosses, I think you’d have been better served starting with the Shatterer or Tequatl, of the dragons.

I just got done killing Claw of Jormag and was thinking of how lame it was and a bunch of ideas popped in my head based on him. lol.. I will give Anet the fact that that battle is definitely the best they’ve done as far as these boss battles go..
But I feel they could go so much farther with them.

I edited my above posts, and will continue to do so until I am content with their outcome, as they approach more and more viable solutions, rather than big dreams.

-added jormag to be stationary
-removed cannon in camps idea
-tweaked many parts, mostly shortened.

Magic Find in Hero Panel

I honestly think the havent added it because there are so many boosts to it.. like karma and exp rate..

You can get MF from your gear, your gears runes/infusions, from food, from guild buffs, and just so many sources…

The game cant even tell me my +5% Crit Chance sigil gives me 5 more crit chance, or that when my adrens full i have another +9% heh…

Like I said my suggestion was just a scenario that seems really fun. My suggestion doesnt have to be taken literal, as you had taken it, which is completely fine.

I was just saying there is some potential into what I said, vrs. what is actually in the game.

Which sounds more fun (even if impossible?). I’d be shocked if you said whats in play.. As no one actually blows the golems up… I’ve done Claw of Jormag at least 30 times since launch..and I got to say, I didnt even know that was part of it haha. (Wow…)

As for the boss actually moving I did state its fine if they dont move, just give him more attacks to give challenge to the melee players. and give him a way to protect himself from melee users temporarily, to let the ranged players (whose dps is generally less) catch up on damage.

As for the preevent idea.. even without the cannon bit. Having a graphic of COJ flying around in the sky and spawning crystals over random camps, and having said camps be under attack from a corrupted shard of ice would be awesome (said ice be spawning broods until X amount of time passed, in which the shard would melt away, or be damaged). And maybe an escort event to earth shake, or something.. just something to let people know, camp events are done, time to track jormag down (players who are repeating this would already know where hes going to be).

And the new battle ideas.. would be good as even if the event is ‘always won’ at least you may actually die or something eventful would happen for once.

I do think the players should shoot COJ and not an NPC however.
Like.. the revamp could be as simple as.. when hes on land and spawning his ice walls, once they’re broken and people take a few swings at him he flies up and thats when people on cannons shoot him as he flies between the 2 mountains near by. and his hp swaps to a wing hp.

-what did you think about the rewards though?
Getting rid of the chests, and increasing a solid Silver reward, Karma Reward, and a nice EXP Reward. As well as possible a daily chest with that rare or exotic and maybe a laurel or something (if the boss seems tough enough!)
(For example; we failed COJ 3 times today, but the 4th attempt we finally got him!)
I’d love hearing that for once.

Rewards, We want Rewards!
Now.. You’ve got to be thinking.. Spending 15-30minutes on a dragon better give me some good loot at the end right!
You’re thinking, I want that big chest!!!

Here is what I’m thinking.
These below would count as events.
-Saving a Camp
-Escorting a patrol group from the camp
-Enduring the battle, and killing
-Remove chests, their kind of a stupid design, no offence….

Completing each of these events above should yeild 5-20silver, 500-3,000 karma, and between 50-100% EXP of your level for each event, depending on which obviously.

With those kinds of rewards no one loses!
(Don’t forget about the mobs you’ll fight in EVERY step. They have great loot tables too ya know!)

Closing Statement
Thank you for reading, and I hope this gives you an idea of what ‘I as a player’ would love to see/expect.
As well as, what our imaginations can bring to the table, as far as events go, and how ‘we the players’ want them.
-I’m not sure if this will get read by ANet, and I don’t even care. What I do care as that I open the eyes of even 1 other player to see how great these events can be, compared to what they are now.

-A revamp of the entire Claw of Jormag battle, as well as other World Boss Battles (Tequalt the sunless, Shatterer, Shadow Behemoth, etc)

Pre-Events for CoJormag
Scenario~
You’re exploring Frostgorge Sound.
Sudden you hear a roar. You look in the sky and notice a Dragon of Ice flying around.
Interested, you watch, and notice a giant projectile fly by a nearby camp.
(At this point an orange circle would appear on your minimap on said camp)
You run there to check out whats going on.
You notice Icebrood pouring out of the Corrupted Ice Shard that fell from the sky.
You join your Koda friends and start vanquishing them.
(Ice could either melt, be attacked until broken, or flamethrowers could melt it, ending the event)
Upon finishing this event (which could spontaneously happen at random camps all over the map, perhaps only 1 happens, maybe 3, all random! We love RNG!)
^you hear a Koda talking about seeing a Dragon of Ice flying in the sky creating these manifestations. (You possibly noticed this yourself as well)

(Now I’m not sure if an escort event would be ideal, but I’m sure Anet could think of something…)
(Something needs to happen to give people about 3-5 minutes to get to his battle location -earthshake-)
After the camp is ‘safe’ a beacon is lit.
A Horn is also blown. The signal is made. (“Jormag’s” Presence is known map-wide)
Suddenly Patrol groups from each camp set out for a large battle. (These would be Escorting Events -if found ideal!)
During these events, you will see The Claw of Jormag flying above head.

-Now its not my place to really say how any of this goes, especially not the battle.
However, I’ll describe some of the mechanics I would like to see.
CoJormag Battle Ideas! (His NEW skill set)

Melee Skills
Aoe front claw attack. (hits targets on said claws side to mid front.
Tail whip/spin, causing a massive knock back.
Stamp, CoJormag balances on his back feet and stamps down crushing anyone and everything in melee range. (an instant downer in most cases!)

Ranged Skills
Shard Storms, giant aoe circles spawn all over (600~1800ft) causing some great damage for a few seconds. (players run closer, or farther, changing the scene of battle for a moment)
Dragon Breath, (1200ft range, anyone unlucky enough to be in his path, say hello to being frozen in an ice crystal and taking a good hit of damage)

General Skills
Ice Aura, Like the frost effect he has now, anyone within about 1000 range takes massive DoT (30-60seconds). (At this time giving players with more powerful range than melee damage a chance to prove themselves! (As range is a bit weaker than melee))
Fearful Scream, which as we know makes you feared. (He already does this)

Around the battle Zookas, and Cannons will still be placed.
Claw of Jormag would NOT have to move even with these changes! Which I’m 99% sure these events wouldnt be able to anyways, so thats a plus!

Claw of Jormag

For those who do not know, The Claw of Jormag is a giant ice dragon that spawns in Frostgorge Sound, every few hours.
He is one of Jormag’s Lieutenants, and I feel he deserves an epic battle, and should be treated as such.
The spawning of CoJormag is as many of the world bosses, complete a few pre-events.
CoJormag has a few phases, first being break down his ice wall, and then spank his life down, spawning and ice wall, and repeat.
CoJormag doesn’t like how is walls fail, and decides to take off flying. At this point an NPC shoots him down with a cannon.
This starts his next phase, which is standing range and spanking his life down. You must be at range because getting to close causes you to loose health do to extreme cold.
During the whole fight, many mobs are spawned, so are giant ice shards, and such and such.

While this battle works, I see one huge flaw. It is ungodly boring. Not to mention, this is Jormag’s lieutenant.
If I chose a lieutenant, I’d choose one that could win a battle every once in a while.
With that being said, I propose my idea.

Weapon skills

Essentially yes I would most certainly have to agree. Being able to swap out your weapon skills for different weapon skills, based on your profession.

I dont think the auto attacks should change, but maybe list them as different wielding styles. And you can swap wielding styles for different skills. Well… That would work for things that fought in melee combat mostly.

Rare dungeon armor

Honestly I sort of like that idea however it could use a bit of fine tuning.

Maybe the Bosses / Chests drop loot based of that dungeon.
IE CoF; You’d get a chance at Charr based weapons, and runes. As well as a chance of a CoF Transmutation Stone.

and while I’m at it… Why not lower 90% of the games Dungeon bosses HP by about 25%. There is no rhyme or reason they have that much HP besides a Time Dump. After the first 25% of their HP we understand their skill set and how to survive. The last 75% is just overkill repeat. The 10% I’m excluding are the dynamic ones with different Phases.

Gathering - More than F! (In-Depth)

I’ve seen a dozen crappy fishing “suggestions” in this forum. However most seem more like complains than suggestions…. Here is my go.

~Fishing Suggestion~
First off I thought about it as maybe a Craft, but that wouldnt make sense.
You can Mine, and Wood Cut, and Harvest without levels, why should Fishing.
So I tossed that thought out of my brain.

So Clearly another 4th gathering type could be fishing…
But isnt that sort or boring? Finding a bit of splashing water and just clicking F, not to interactive…
Unless it was made to be…?


~Gathering! More than just F!
All gathering is sort of just find a node, or look on the map and find a node, and then make sure your equipment is good enough to properly harvest it, and then simply hit F.

What if there was a Timer? Like a Gauge of some sort. The Gauge would change depending on what gathering you were doing. After performing a few clicks on the Gauge Meter, an in-game action occurs from your player (The gathering action), and you’re rewarded items based on how well you’ve performed the Gauge. (Ruined, What you Expect, Rare, etc)


~Gathering Tool Durability
So I randomly just thought, about how annoying it was when your Gathering Tool broke while at a node… This thought gave me an idea.
The Implementation of a Whetstone for Sickles, Logging Axes, and Mining Picks.

The reason this could be a viable suggestion is because, I see very many complaints about people hating having to carry tools on tools on tools in their inventory.

The Whetstone would have its own durability, that would go down when using a gathering node, instead of the gathering tool’s.

The whetstone would have its own equipment slot just to the left of the Sickle’s equipment square, and its size would only have to be approximately 25% of the Average equipment slot on the right side.
*Their Durability would vary depending on Type and Level.

~Idea behind Whetstones (more)
First I want to say I dont want people to feel the need to carry 800 Whetstones in their inventory. I also Don’t want a person to even be able to have 800 Whetstones.
I just want to sort of rephrase real quick that they are not to replace a Tools Durability, but simply provide a bonus to it if you have one. And Carry a second would be much better than carrying another set of tools (less inv space).

~Gathering a Whetstone (Whetstone Node)
I would like to see 0~1 Whetstone Gathering Nodes on each map that would get rotated each patch like the current nodes do. I’m not sure if they should show up on the Map or not, however I do believe you should have to use a certain item to gather that node. Perhaps a Pick? Perhaps a BLTC Pick? Maybe a all new item? Not 100% Sure there, I just know that this needs to be a rare node which would give up to 3 Whetstones.

~Break Down of Whetstones (Rough Idea)
Level 1; “Black Lion Whetstone” 250 Durability
Obtain Method; Black Lion Chests, Gem Store (125gems)

Level 10; “Thin Whetstone” 50 Durability
Obtain Method; Merchant(Buy 2~7 Silver -not 100% sure yet), Common Monster Drop Level 1~40

Level 30; “Average Whetstone” 100 Durability
Obtain Method; Whetstone Node, Monster Drop Level 40~70

Level 45; “Mystic Whetstone” 300 Durability
Mystic Forge Recipe; Thin+Average+Thick Whetstone+2Mystic Forge Stone

Level 60; “Thick Whetstone” 150 Durability
Obtain Method; Whetstone Node (Rare)


Final Summation.
The Gathering System is very rewarding, however I feel that it could be a bit more player Interactive.
I personally Rarely have an issue with the Duration of my Tools (I rarely carry a spare set) however I commonly hear many players do have issues. Whetstones would allow a bit of wiggle room, between worrying “I’m not using my Orichalcum Pick on Copper Ore!” and “My Sickle doesn’t have enough Durability!”
Everyone loves fishing as a pass-time activity. It’d be great to see. -Why not? ;)
*It could extend a method to obtain scales (look at their price, its by far the highest material), it could also be a method to extend cooking, or even something I’m overlooking. :)

All in all, we all love gathering, it’d just be cool to interact a bit more, and have some relief on durations. Less number watching, more in-depth screen looking!

Scaling Down Levels Should be an OPTION not Forced

When you’re scaled down to say level 20, you still have your Level 80 Traits (Yeah 60 more traits than them), and your Level 30 Elite Skill, and all the extra little buffs from your Equipments (even as it is scaled down) is all better than just a level 20 players.

You already have a HUGE bonus compared to them, and can take down anything in a matter of hits and can actually tank the mobs no problem.

If you think the game needs a removal option of scaling, or after playing for 100 hours and you feel like this game has nothing more to offer you’re crazy. 500+ Hours on my Warrior and going.

*Keep Level Scaling, Maybe even harshen it.

Racial Elites

I suppose you’re both right. However I still do feel that they shouldnt just be useless because I chose an Asuran Warrior. Thats stupid. I really do feel that they should be useful on everything to some extent. Not necessarily Build Making. But at least someone useful.

Racial Elites

I’m not sure if it is just the Asuran Racial Elite skills, or all of them, however I have mained mostly just as an Asuran for a very long time (my Asuran Warrior has over 500 hours played).

It makes me horribly sad that I can not use any of my Golem Based Skills. I thought thats what the Asuran would be sort of about and it’d be fun, however I was mistaken.

The Golem Elites die in just a few seconds after casting them. And that’d be okay… if the recast wasnt 180 seconds.

The Golem Suit is awesome too, however the recast again seems a bit too high.
When someone chooses to leave it, its just gone. And I have to wait the 240 second recast. and Say I get it, I have it for 60 seconds, which its not bad, however all the skills on it are insanely underpowered.

All I’m saying is even if those Summoned Golems had a 30 second life span, and a 60 second Recharge that’d make them way better, and not over powered in any way I can think of.

And the Golem suit I could live with a 2 Minute Recharge with a 45 Second Duration, and after someone drops out of it, it doesnt dissapear.

Anyone else have any complains/suggestions on their Racial Elites?

rhodoc, if you hover over Health you get to see your total Health and your Healing Power.

I agree Magic Find % should be shown, as well as Movement Speed.

I also believe your Gathering Bonus % should be shown.
I’d like to see an Experience Rate % As well (For kills obviously)

Superior Rune of the Pirate

I for one will agree that that stupid parrot exceptionally sucks while I’ve seen people using that rune in dungeons. That parrot will go from mob to mob like its no ones business acting like a mass puller, its ridiculous!

And yeah what Wolfgang Michael was absolutely correct. You can run 5 Runes of the Pirate to get the +10% +15% +25% Magic Find, and on the 6th Rune put on a Rune of the Traveler and get another +10% Magic Find, rather than a stupid bird summon.

Craft on the Go!

There is a portable Merchant, portable BLTC Trading Post, portable banker / bank access. (There >was< a portable Mystic Forge)

Why not Crafter’s Bench, so you can do crafting on the go.

Guild Members Show on Map

Commander Title / 100 Gold

The basic situation is, we as a guild raised up 100 Gold in order to buy the Command Title.
At first 1 member was going to be the commander, but we decided on a vote that another member should have the title instead.

The member that originally had the 100 Gold couldnt withdraw it from the guild bank, so we mailed it to him. We believe your ingame coding prevents new accounts from having access to that much gold as a defense against gold traders (and its great you have features like that). His account is only 25 days old. However we arent gold traders, just some guildies trying to get commander title lol. :)

The id of the player with the 100gold is Jophfy.3479 and the id of the player who we voted should have it is Fatalkill.2846 and everyone has agreed upon these transactions.

The reason I am typing this up is because for some reason the first time anyone tries logging onto this forum they get an error code for a day or two.

What I am asking is, what is a method to contact you about an issue like this?
Is this the only way to do so, if it is even a correct method?

and lastly, if his account is to young to be able to trade 100gold, how long would we have to wait for him to be able to do so if you cant help us out.

Thats exactly what I’m talking about. We should have an extra notification to where are guildies are, rather than it just listing it on the guild roster. Theres nothing I can think of to stop this idea. -Considering we the player could choose to toggle it on or off.

This suggestion is exactly what the title beholds.

To have guild Members of your Current Represented Guild show up on the map, perhaps as Small Yellow Circles in the Same Color as Guild Chat.

Because the direct 2.5% change would completely kill price increases in anything other then massive bounds.

It would also be an unfair restriction to most people – overall, either there are not enough of it for it to matter or too many of an item that it would be hazardeous to implement a % increase minimum.

I guess you’re right with that. If a pricing minimum isnt implemented I’d at least like to see the change of being able to buy an item at the price I want to buy it at. I’d pay for the early birds everytime. IDC about saving 1copper because 1 greedy person wanted to rip off an honest person.

Why should my price of 100g sell AFTER someone elses price of 99g 99s 99c? They are practically THE SAME PRICE.
If you’re going to list an item on the TP, you should have to AT LEAST LIST it for a REASONABLE PRICE UNDER the Current Lowest Seller.

You have no many times I see an item selling for 88 silver, 85 silver, 80silver, and some desperate soul drops it down to 60silver, and then some “butthat” drops it to 59silver 99copper.

If I had the chance to I would buy the 60silver seller and ignore the 59silver 99copper seller… Unfortunately the game MAKES you buy the lowest selling price.
To me they have no right to sell that item before the 60 silver seller in my eyes. But maybe im just old fashioned.

@GADefence I get what you’re saying and I like that. Once an item is up, it is up. You can edit the price as long as its up. I like that actually. It’l keep the economy just as intense, and if someone 1copper undercuts you you can just watch it and undercut them or even dramatically drop the price or so on. I dont even care about a refund lol, I just want my stuff to sell at a reasonable time without a bunch of “butt clowns” loading the economy with the same stuff .0001% of the value less than mine, and having their stuff sell. Either A: the items value needs to shift less by some means, or B: you shouldnt have to pay 5% of the items value.

Thats how I see it. And the way I feel you can get the items value to shift less is if people have to take a bigger cut of profit less to do so. IE losing 2.5% of its value rather than 1copper (which at higher price items doesnt even matter)

You’re both missing the point.

Selling an item for 100g and 99g 99s 99c is basically the same exact price.
Why should the person who listed their price at 100g have to wait till someone posts the same thing after them for 1c cheaper. No one is saving any money. Its just jipping the Early Bird off.

My idea is making it just as competitive as before. You can go with the current lowest for the 5% fee on the price, or start a new price at a minimum of 2.5% less of the value and still post the 5% fee of the new price.

That is the point I’m making. People shouldnt be losing money or time because they posted an item at practically the same price as other people posting it for negligible amounts less.

The people who posted the item after, for basically the same amount should be losing their time or money. -Which is exactly what this suggestion does.

Fishing is always my favorite in every game! It’d give new purposes for Gathering. Could you imagine Gathering Gear. :o That’d be epic!

Also with DE. I totally agree. The current rewards are a bit lame… and I strongly feel that DE’s could give more money based on your level. Even getting 4silver from a DE at level 80 would be awesome. It’d make me actually want to do them, rather than wasting 2silver to port over to it, only to get 1silver an 28copper and a waste of time lmao.

Solo Dungeons

I’ve ran Arah Exp mode 5 times now. Each time I’ve gotten to the final boss, everyone left saying “its impossible”.

I seem to be one of the only people on my server even capable of dodging his easily dodgible moves. If I could solo him, hell yeah I’d love the chance to. People just flat out suck, and I shouldnt be wasting 3hours on a dungeon without an rewards because my team bails.

However I think there should be a dungeon lobby. A Place with every dungeon gate, and maybe even the dungeon NPC’s. However to access the dungeon (if its one that even slightly has a chance to be contested) it’l always be contested, and to get in you’ll need to buy a gem store item to allow access (can drop from blchests).

The Problem with the Trading post is the following issue.

100g 00s 00c at 5% = 5g 00s 00c listing fee
99g 99s 99c at 5% = 4g 99s 99.95c listing fee. I’m highly confident the game would round that up to just 5g.

What are the chances an item at that value will be commonly bought out. Being the early bird poster shouldnt hurt you.
It should benefit you.

So why should someone listing an item of Honestly, the same exact value after you get to sell it first?

To list an item you have the standard list fee of 5% of its price.
“Current Lowest Sellers” Pay 5% of the tax like everyone else, but I believe to list an item at a lower value it should have to be listed for at least 2.5% lower than the “Current Lowest Seller”.

Meaning on a 100g 00s 00c item. 2.5% = 2g 50s 00c
… 97g 50s 00c would be the next lowest pricing

The Listing Fee on the 97g 50s 00c item of 5% = 4g 87s 50c
You’ve “saved” 12s 50c on the listing fee. For a total listing ‘loss’ of 2g 37s 50c
However that wouldnt be a true loss. It’d be more like an ’’Express Sell Fee"

However if you ended up posting it at the same price as the ‘early bird’ you would of kept 2.5% of the overall price, Meaning that once again, Time would be money, and Patience still a virtue.

the tax is 15%. 5% when listing and 10% when your item sold, this I beleive was to stop power trading!

Oh dang, my friend just told me that as well.
The 10% Selling is fine, a bit harsh, but fine. Turns out when I did my math I did it backwards haha. I got 1% but i did it the otherway and got about 11%

The suggestion still stands. Saving that 5% and helping stabilize prices instead of always being so harsh and trying to undercut everyone really stinks and should stop. This games suppose to be about teaming together and seeing others as friends not a threat.

When seeing others with me and knowing that they could be someone undercutting me on the TP, makes me second guess ressing them in some locations. XD. Just food for thought :P

I do like the idea of a Dungeon Lobby.
But what if the dungeon is contested? Perhaps a Fee of Money or Trophy? Maybe a new Cash Shop item? Go ANet Go!

Back on topic.
Way Pointing is cheap. I’ve never had an issue ever. Are you new to MMO’s? Learn to budget a little. Sometimes Waypointing isnt even necessary. Don’t be lazy. I do like the idea of waypointing to completed maps for free though. That’d be very neat.

I don’t agree on that. The Trophies and drops from a dungeon are already so nice. I do however suggest that they give someway to get the Dungeon Trophies while in the dungeon, before the final reward. It really sucks reaching that last OP boss, and figuring out your party sucks and cant do it, even after 2 hours of trying to figure it out. I’d like a way to make even 5-10 tokens before it.

Party Finder? -What Map chat, and multiple guilds isnt enough for you?
That Dungeon Lobby is a great idea though. I love it.

Harvesting equipment that behaves like armor

Or how about this.

Just like the set up now with harvesting tools, every so and so levels you can get a new pick to get higher level ores.
But instead of having to repair them, or so on, any pick can mine any ore, but the higher level you are the more uses you can have.

Lvl. 10 Pickaxe would have 50 uses, where a Lvl 60 Pickaxe could have 500.
This limits the amount of picks a player would need, and you’d be rewarded on level, as well that if you did wanna load your inv with Cheap 50 use Picks you could, but if you wanted to manage inv space you could get a 500 use pick.

I also think it’d be cool to implement Exotic Gathering Tools lmao.
Lvl 80 Exotic Pickaxe would have 1000 uses, and be worth a nice penny.

BLTC Listing Fee/Economy

-Fact
I’m aware that the Trading Post has several fees. The Listing Fee, the After-sales Tax (which is around 1%).

-Scenario
Those don’t seem bad, as they are both small fees. But when you post an Item for say, 50silver on the Trading post, and someone puts the same item but in bigger quantity at 49silver 99copper, it really makes you mad. If you want them sold anytime soon, you’ve got to unlist them (losing 2silver 50copper you used to list the item) only to spend another 2.5s to relist it and hope someone else doesnt put it down 1 more copper than you again.

-Rambling
This has happened to me many times, and I’m sure it has happened to you as well.
I’m sure you’re thinking, just wait, chances are that they will all eventually sell, just be pacient. -However this isnt true if more people list it for cheaper and cheaper (of course assuming demand is high for this item, they’ll buy out at a good rate)

-The Suggestion
Now with that back story, let me reveal the suggestion.
Removing the Listing Fee if you post an item up for Sale at the current lowest price.

-Further Explaining The Suggestion
This means if there is an item up for 50silver and I want to sell that item as well, and I post it at 49silver 99copper, I’d actually pay 2silver and 50copper in doing so.
However if I posted my order on top of the 50silver price, I’d not have to pay the listing fee.

-Idea to Stop A Monopoly Price
To stop potential abuse of this; after a certain number of different people list said item, (lets use the number 10 for example) the 11th person would have to Pay a Tiny Listing Fee, which at that point would be better to start a new price, still creating a competing economy, but lessening the harshness of it.

-Last minute semi-off topic Ramble.
What is the point of the Tax? What purpose does it serve? Is it just a gold dump like Way pointing and trait resetting and all that? Or does it serve a deeper purpose like stopping people buying an item listed cheaper, an putting it back up higher, or something. I’d love an answer to its intended use.
