Thanks for the feedback. I’m oddly in love with my fall damage reduction traits. I know, they aren’t optimal, but I’m here for fun.

Is Reaper’s Precision not useful? I’d be willing to swap Reaper’s Precision to be able to get Lingering Curses. I just don’t know if I would suffer in the LF department.

I don’t understand how you’re making the argument that Reaper’s Protection is bad while Foot in the Grave is good. Don’t they both help deal with CC? I understand that Reaper’s Protection has the long CD, so it’s potentially less useful, but it also negates the CC combo whereas Foot in the Grave wouldn’t right? I just don’t get the hype about Foot in the Grave.

Just because you have an issue doesn’t mean that something “has to change.” I love the challenge of it, and as others have posted, I complete the event regularly with random people on the megaserver. Sometimes we do fail, but that makes victory even better. Before you declare that an entire system (which has surely been tested and checked intensively before release) should change, look to the much more likely problems, such as lack of knowledge of the fight, lack of coordination or teamwork, or lack of leadership. Solve those problems and if you still can’t beat Teq, then come back here.

I would actually perfer something like this under 6 “the healing” skill.

Clamor of Souls 20 second CD, unaffected by PoM trait
Channel your Life Force, converting X% of your Life Force every second to health, healing yourself and your allies around for (part of LF%+Healing Power) value.

Easily interruptable since it’s channeled. We could associate some Powermancer Spite adept trait with it, like “Every second of Clamor of Souls increases the damage of next two following attacks by X%”.
It’s also a major support and a very good sink for accumulated, unused LF.

I really like this general idea, though I think it being an AoE heal (or maybe even scaling with healing power) isn’t a good idea. I think that it would be great if it were just a personal way to convert LF into HP.

As a side note, I really think that personal healing (from siphons, life steal from combo fields or sigil, etc) should have partial effect on your true health while you’re in DS. Like maybe while you’re in DS, 33% of the health you could regenerate would have effect. This would prevent it from being an OP version of Aegis while you cower and heal up. It would still be way more beneficial for the user to drop DS to use the heals.

Also, do you guys think a UI change to be able to see the CDs of utilities/elite while in DS would be absurd? I feel like it would be really nice to be able to see a greyed out version (greyed out because you can’t use the skills) of 6-10.

[Fort Aspenwood] Harbingers of Serendipity

in Looking for...

Posted by: Temariah.9372

Temariah.9372

Hello everyone. My guild, The Harbingers of Serendipity, is currently recruiting heavily for all areas of play.

We intend to be semi-competitive with the WvWvW scene, but that doesn’t mean we don’t want a larger playerbase of social and active players who may not be interested as much in WvWvW. This is because the most important thing for the guild is community. There’s no point in having a guild without a great and friendly environment. So even if you aren’t interested in WvWvW so much, you’re still more than welcome to join and be a part of our growing community. I myself am interested in all areas of play, such as dungeons (including fractals) and some occasional PvP.

What we aim for in terms of WvWvW is a tweener style where we aren’t incredibly hard core and raiding each night for hours, but we aren’t militia-style casuals either. I’d like to get to the point where we can capture objectives and do some zerg-busting during our raiding times (which will be dependent on what our players can make)

The current requirements for the guild is moderate activity (spend at least a few hours contributing to the guild every two weeks) and 100% representation.

If this sounds like your type of guild, send me a mail in game (Temariah.9372) or post on this thread.

Feedback/Questions: The Megaserver System: World Bosses and Events

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Temariah.9372

Temariah.9372

Honestly IMO you are right, the megaserver will probably (if done right ) be a good thing overall. The only worry is the boss times and the fact that they are only half rolling it out (not merging guilds together as well as the servers at the same time).

I just read your posts about how negative the megaserver system would be and how it would ruin some of the moments you love in the game. I’d like to hear some of your thoughts on the other side of the coin, because right now you just seem to have a very arbitrary opinion depending upon whichever conversation you can be a part of at the time.

I’m so incredibly excited about this update. This will eliminate a lot of grinding/farming and champ train opportunities, which, yes, may harm the community on some level (there are a lot of people who do those things) I think that it’s a good thing because people whine about the game having too much grind when it wasn’t supposed to. (I am a staunch believer that the game only has so much grind as you allow. I have never grinded!) So the more ArenaNet neuter grinding potential, the better!

This update will also really make it more fun to just play the game without a focus. As in, if you’re just exploring the world, you’ll have more people to play with, and a lot of dynamic events that are rarely accomplished will be successful! There’s nothing more frustrating than just playing the game to get my dailies done but not being able to complete the successful events category because I’m romping around in a quieter zone.

The only concern I have is the boss timers, and how some people will honestly not be able to do the bosses, realistically. However… this is such a freaking easy fix (add more boss spawns, change the timers, etc) that I’m not even worried. ArenaNet is so good at listening to feedback and making changes (despite what people say, I’ve never been involved in a developer-player community that is this close and responsive) that I know they’ll make things better for everyone in the end.

Suggestion: Particle Effects

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Temariah.9372

Temariah.9372

I think that in bigger zergs, particle effects should be reduced drastically. If I’m in a big zerg, unless I am in a party with someone, I don’t really want to see ANY particle effects from them besides combo fields. As it is right now, I think that particle effects are the main culprit in lag during large-scale events.

I think that a very simple way to implement this is to expand our options of the nameplates that we see, and dictate particle effect scaling off of that.

Please make all Exotics non soul/accountbound

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Some of the more recently introduced Exotic sets are account bound, like the new Zealot’s gear. Another set that I think a lot of people would like to see unbound is the Celestial gear (we’re talking Exotic level here. I do agree that Ascended should be bound).

I don’t see the point in making these things account bound, and it might even produce a new market for those willing to buy these sets.

What’s the point of introducing new gear combinations if they’re account bound, thereby making them much less accessible to some?

OP and Wasbunny, I love your ideas, and I don’t think it would end up being another timer that people had to watch, because I would hope Anet would make it so that the day/night cycles were different, but not different levels of rewards. So it wouldn’t reward you more/less to play at night/day, but you would get different types of events to do, and maybe a few different (not stronger) rewards.

I hate how negative people are. After reading some of the posts in this thread I’m honestly a little annoyed at how horrible people are with taking quotes out of context and mocking them. I’ve never seen any other developers in any other game that I’ve played actually say that they’ve learned a lot and are going to change how they do business because they listened to player feedback.

Why do people constantly harp on the things Anet does wrong and never praise them for what they do right?

Temariah.9372

i’d run elixir b instead of c. with 409 you have lots of condi cleanse already especially if the build is just for dungeons. i’d also take out 10 in inventions and put it into alchemy for hgh and swap bursting for battle/strength. if you use noble runes you’ll be able to stack 15-25 might on yourself permanently which is a pretty huge dps increase.

I played an Ele and really didn’t like the stress of might stacking. Maybe I’m just a bad player but I intentionally avoided the HGH trait because might stacking takes something away from the game for me. It starts to feel too micro-y. And I like having the fall damage trait. I have it in all my builds. Like I said, not going for optimal, going for what’s fun for me. ^^

And I don’t want to play full Zerker. I want to play a condi Engy.

I don’t see how it would break the game.

on-the-fly build switching leads everyone to run standardized hardcounter builds and just swap to whichever one applies at the moment.

I strongly disagree, as each player could only have 2 different specs saved. They would be able to theoretically have a hard counter build to 2 builds, but not more than that. Also, as someone posted, there ought to be a decent cooldown for the swap, and it ought to have a really long cast time and only be useable outside of combat.

I don’t really care about the meta. I care about making a build that I think is fun and cool that feels good when I play it that doesn’t completely and utterly suck (I’m just fine with being “mediocre”, whatever that means). I personally dislike feeling really glassy. Even if I do just fine with dodging and support, I feel pressured, because I know how easily I can go down if kitten hits the fan. Because of that, glassy builds just aren’t that fun for me, so I don’t usually play them.

In response to your comment about the kits… I’m not sure I understand. I don’t see how using a kit inherently makes your build better, even if your build gets nothing from kits via traits. Is their damage that OP?

I personally really like to run the sigil of torment on my Necro, just for an extra condition that I don’t normally have much access to… but I can’t do that in PvP. With the coming updates to remove glory and bring PvE and PvP together I think it’s reasonable to request that these new runes and sigils are available in PvP too. Heck, maybe it would bring some new fun/life to the scene and open up some new builds.

In order for the changes to be permanent, despite having options that repeatedly alter your personality (speed boons in Divinity’s Reach for example), the game would have to only accept the response you used the first time you responded. That should be easy enough to work through.

Also, I like the idea of roleplay/cosmetic differences with the personality system, though I would like to see it even deeper than what you suggested, such as with the way NPCs talk to you, though the things they offer you could still be the same.

I think it would potentially increase build diversity if players (like myself) weren’t frustrated that my favorite skills were unusable underwater.

Here are some examples of some skills that I think could maintain their functionality and just be usable underwater:

Glyph of Lesser Elementals and the elite Glyph of Elementals. Maybe this brings up a bigger issue, since a lot of minion-y type things (see Necro) aren’t usable underwater. Is there an AI issue with underwater movement? I don’t understand though why these skills can’t be usable underwater.

Ether Renewal: This one makes no sense to me at all… What about this skill defies underwater use?

Hello! My name is Temmy, and my boyfriend is Cogbyrn. We’re looking for a very ACTIVE (cannot stress this enough; inactivity/boringness is why we want to leave our current guild) guild on Fort Aspenwood.

It doesn’t necessarily need to be PvX, though I’m interested in all types of content, my boyfriend is much more interested in WvW, so a WvW-focused guild could work. We both log on pretty much everyday, and I sometimes get on very early and would like to have at least a few people alive in guild chat at that time.

Things we consider necessary for our new guild:
- At least some thought of advancement (be that through working towards guild improvements, or generally just striving to be better in whatever we do (WvW, PvP, or whatever)).
- Friendly, talkative, active members (The guild I’m currently in has quite a large roster. Unfortunately, a large portion of the players don’t log in frequently and don’t really talk much when they do).
- Mature and responsible guild leaders – I’m not looking for a silly guild. I’m looking for a guild that’s in for the long haul and has leaders that will stay with the game and take care of the guild through any ups and downs.

Thanks for reading!
