I don’t see how anyone could possibly complain about a baby charr that’s dressed as Batman.
Warlord.9074But I deleted all my mystery tonics on Monday before the announcement was made to save the items from chests Because I got an endless mystery tonic now….. What about others like me.? I had around 70+ tonics from the chests i opened all gone….. sadface
A 400 Artificer can craft the tonics for fairly cheap (but they are account bound, so you’ll need to make them yourself).
TSLlol.4879stuff
Not necessarily caving in, just trying to please the largest number of people possible. As you know, you can’t please everyone all the time.
Sorry Im maybe newb, but isnt this skins able to get only during the event?
The drops (loot) only occur during the event, the recipe will be craftable well beyond that.
Unknown.2796Lol.. no really, you should see these items as long term obtainment, you just need to get the recipes for them unlocked (this is with Halloween themed items), once you unlock those you can craft them when ever you want. Start saving your lodestones.
You also need the Superior Sigils of the Night. Don’t forget about those (100 candy corn each plus other crafting mats).
DootmasterX.3025I can’t afford any more keys, I’m broke till next payday which is long after the holiday, and I threw out all my Mystery Tonics a few days ago because they were taking up bank space. FML
1 Crystalline Dust + 1 Vicious Claw + 1 Vicious Fang + 1 Jug of Water for a 400 Artificer (or just buy them off the TP).
MajorMelchett.6042Lol, should have read the entire post, i was wondering why only my XP boosters were showing up to be added to the forge and not the 30 or so other ones.
Nice idea on how to do this, and working it out i should have quite a few goes.
1 Question, how come we can’t use the BL gathering tools or salvaging kits or are they under boosts?.
Every BLC is guarenteed to have a boost and 3 tonics, not every chest comes with the other black lion stuff (also that stuff is generally more valuable than the random tonics).
Can’t wait to see what the drop rates look like, but I think I’ve learned my lesson and I’m going to wait for some other people to open theirs up first…
Legendary grind for a much-less-than-Legendary weapon. I agree, I think the requirements are insane.
People keep saying this, but they tend to be people that haven’t actually looked into what it takes to make a legendary.
Legendaries have a few things that make them worth it:
-You have as much time as you need to earn the mats so you can do it at your own pace. However this weapon, you have 10 days (less at this point) to gather up all the Halloween mats to do it, but then you have to add the RNG Sigil recipe onto that
-The Legendaries have legendary worthy skins and visual effects. The Crossing, while cool, is not cool enough to Warrant the very short and very epic grind.
-They are Legendary, and this weapon is simply an Exotic
-The only thing you need to collect over the next week is Candy Corn, and only 2,000 of it. In fact, since Candy Corn isn’t bound, you don’t even need to do that.
-The Crossing has a freaking lamp on a chain that emits smoke and swings as you move. Compare that to Bitfrost that has some rainbow stuff going on… It’s no contest in my opinion, Crossing wins hands down.
-And? What does Legendary matter to you other than the badge you get on the character select screen?
OF COURSE the legendary is a skin! I’ll do that insane amount of mat collecting/farming/paying for THAT legendary skin. I’m not breaking a sweat over a rare Halloween skin with stupid amounts of farming/collecting involved.
OK. So, don’t? You can get one of the black lion skins for ~10-20g and even those prices will fall significantly before this event is over.
100g would buy you 200 stacks of candy corn at the cheapest price they’ve ever been. So, you counted wrong.
Wow this is getting more disappointing by the minute. Crappy stats, epic grind worthy of a Legendary required in a very short amount of time, cool skin is all it has going for it but certainly not worth the grind involved at all.
Are you aware that legendaries also have crappy stats? Also, depending on the legendary, this is less than 1/4 the gold cost, and you don’t need 1 million karma for it…
Over exaggerate much? 23k personalized bags would be over 500 full stacks of candy corn.
That’s awesome, thanks for updating the Wiki Rabbit. Do you have a picture of the weapon? I’m curious to see the skin on a player and also the actual stats of it.
You can rent the skin for 4 hours for 6 silver from the vendor in LA.
Yes I know but if you know the recipe than surely you have already made the weapon? In that case I’m just curious to see the skin? I also more than that, I really want to know what the final stats of the weapon look like?
I haven’t crafted the crossing myself, but someone in my guild did. Stats are pretty terrible on it out of the box, it has the superior sigil of the night in it (+10% damage at night) and either Traveler’s or Explorer’s stats (I remember the 3% magic find, don’t recall what flavor the other 2 stats were). He transmuted it onto pow/vit/toughness stats.
~200g worth of mats for a unique weapon skin doesn’t seem unreasonable to me. I’ve been working on Foefire’s Power for several weeks and I’m nowhere near even 1/4 of the way done.
The only thing you absolutely need to get in the next week is the candy corn and the fangs/skulls/neugat. 6000 Candy Corn is really expensive right now (~12g last I checked). But I’ve farmed nearly 1000 candy corn myself so far, and I’ll probably stop trying to get a permanent tonic just so I can hoard more candy corn for myself.
60 each for a major sigil, the wiki doesn’t have the recipe for the superior, I’ll add that now.
That’s awesome, thanks for updating the Wiki Rabbit. Do you have a picture of the weapon? I’m curious to see the skin on a player and also the actual stats of it.

Recipe for Superior Sigil of Night:
250 Candy Corn
25 Nougat Centers
25 Chattering Skulls
25 Plastic Fangs
This isn’t a guarenteed recipe. The recipe you’re stating is a random recipe, you can get anything from a recipe to a mini to some rare materials.
Are you sure about needing the superior sigils of the night? If that is correct then that is an extra 1200 candy corn we will need to farm on top of the 250 candy corn and 100 rare. That seems like an insane amount of candy corn per weapon to get in a week.
It’s an extra 2000 candy corn. Each superior sigil takes 100 candy corn.
Loltha.2390It’s absurdly ridiculous and, quite frankly, I’m surprised ArenaNet did this. All my mats, money, and time are going to my legendary. No if, ands, or buts. The legendary mats are INSANe but. it’s well…LEGENDERY!
These are simply rare Halloween weopon skins. Rare is not legendery. No way in hell am I farming mats for these things….EVER. Not even if they gave me the recipes for FREE.
You realize the legendary is just another skin, right? These halloween exotics are nowhere near as expensive as the legendaries and are more in line with other rare exotics (foefire, mjolnir, volcanus, etc).
Anachnophobia short bow cant be transmuted and has a 3 hour countdown timer ???

Here’s the crafting process for Arachnophobia, http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Gift_of_Spiders
All you need to collect during the Halloween event is 2250 Candy Corn (~8g to buy it all, or just collect it, I got 250 playing around in borderlands yesterday for a couple hours) and 100 Plastic Fangs (~2g on the trading post). You’ll also need someone in your guild with the Superior Sigil of the Night recipe, or you’ll have to get that yourself too. Everything else can be collected over the next year to make it.
In total, this is what you need to craft a permanent halloween item:
250 Candy Corn
40 Elonian Wine
10 Crystalline Dust
100 nougat center
=Gift of souls recipe250 Orichalcum Ingots
20 Globs of Ectoplasm
100 Crystal Lodestones
Gift of Knowledge (500 dungeon tokens from CoE)
=Gift of soulsGift of Souls
Ancient Staff Shaft (6 ancient wood planks)
Ancient Staff Head (2 ancient wood planks)
X’s Orichalcum Imbued Inscription (requirements for this depend on which you make)
= The CrossingYou will need to know at least a lvl400 artificer to get this done. For the imbued inscription, it depends on which one you want, but you will likely need to know some other lvl400 crafting profession
It’s possible that I’m wrong and that somewhere in here you will need the temporary version of the weapon, so I would go ahead and buy that (but make sure not to equip it!). Other than that, I’m pretty certain as to all the rest.
This is incorrect.
I’ve updated the wiki with the correct information and the process you need to follow to create The Crossing:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Gift_of_Souls
Just want to say there is a LOT of misinformation in here. The GW2 Insider page pulled incorrect info from my reddit thread that was posted by somebody that was guessing at what the last stage of the recipe would be.
I’ve updated the wiki with the correct information on how to craft each of the exotics:

There are 2 things the mystic forge can do, recipes, and randomizing. If you’re jut tossing in random items, you fall into that second group, the randoms. There will never be a relationship there, so just keep doing what you’re doing.
Can someone that has a gift of light try tossing in an Orichalcum Shield Backing while they’re at it?
I like the look of the WvW armor, but it’s not for everyone. Have you done your personal story? The 50-70 part of the quests gives you some pretty awesome armor skins. Currently, I’m rocking a full suit of Lionguard armor (just like the NPCs wear) that you can get from the heart vendors in the zone immediately south of Lion’s Arch.
Random question regarding blinds, how does blind interact with non-target things such as barrage in PVE and PVP. Does blinding the source still cause them to miss?
I’m 90% sure it will cause the first attack to miss in a multi-hit attack (like Barrage) regardless of the target being an enemy or an area.
I can confirm this. AoE attacks miss everyone if the caster is blinded. Multi hit attacks will only miss the first pulse of their damage.
You should have done the WvW jumping puzzles more, you’d easily have 4 or 5 times the badges. The WvW exotic armor is Power/Toughness/Vitality, which sounds like it would be perfect for your play style. The downside is that the full set costs something like 1500 badges.
I made my guardian to run dungeons. I have other characters that I do sPvP and WvW with, my guardian is solely to be used for dungeon runs. Let me just get that out of the way up front.
I’m mainly asking this question to people that run lots of explorable modes. I’ve found that generally any PUG can complete a story mode without wiping more than a couple of times, so that sort of experience isn’t totally relevent to this question.
Now, onto the question!
What’s your build?
Explaining it would be good too.
I’m mostly looking for insight from other guardians on how they’re doing dungeons. Are you a GS/Hammer power/precision glass sword? Are you staff/shout backline support? How do you synergize with the rest of your group? Do you know 4 other people intimately well and you all built your characters to perfectly mesh with one another? Or did you create a swiss army knife type guardian and hope to be useful no matter what group you’re in?
(Also, if you’re interested in running more dungeons, see my guild We Run Dungeons for a creative solution to LFG.)
We Run Dungeons isn’t a guild in the traditional sense. We don’t have any guild upgrades, we don’t do any events, and we never WvW.
So what’s the point?
We have nearly 200 members across dozens of home worlds that all like running dungeons.
We don’t require you to represent us. We fully expect you to only use the guild when you need to find a dungeon group, once you’ve found a group, switch back to your main guild so that guild gets the influence.
Here’s what some other people have had to say:
I love this idea, my guild is really small and we almost never have enough people on to do a full guild group in a dungeon. This way my guild can stay together, but we can still find groups for dungeons.
Keep in mind, you can join multiple guilds on your account. You simply click represent on the guild that you want to see the guild chat for. Also, dungeons are their own instances, you can have 5 people from 5 different home worlds all enter into the same dungeon (however, you can’t cross US and EU servers, not sure if that’s a bug or feature).
Send me a mail or whisper in game for an invite, Red Rabbit is my name. All members have invite privileges, so if I’m not on see if you can find another member and ask them for an invite.
I’d like to ask that people that want to run a dungeon try and represent during the first 5-15 minutes on the hour. We’ve had some problems where people represent, ask “anyone need a 5th?” they don’t get a response in 5 seconds and switch out of the guild again. When that’s happening with 10 different people, 10 times an hour, nobody ends up in a group and nobody is happy.
(edited by TheRabbit.9478)
Not sure if this is a bug or intended, but if you have a party of people on different servers (US vs EU) the odd-man out can’t enter the dungeon instance and get’s a “network socket error”.
This has come up fairly often (2 or 3 times in the last day) because my guild has people from both servers and nearly every home world, and if we didn’t specify before hand if it was US or EU it leads to problems.
We’ve just passed the 100 member mark, and have over a dozen home world’s in our roster. Last night during prime time we had 5 separate dungeon groups running at the same time. I’m online now and will be for the next few hours, shoot me a message if you’re interested in joining.
Do you have members on the Vabbi server? I didn’t rush my leveling and when I got to do AC I barely found any people doing it. I’ll gladly join to do dungeons and help other people do dungeons.
The way that dungeons are instanced, you don’t need to be on the same home world as the other people in your party. You do however need to be on the same server (there’s only 2 servers, US and EU). So if you play on a US server, we have plenty of people you can join.
Everyone that PM’d me or mailed me in game was sent an invite. We’re up to 30 members across 10 different home worlds now.
Uhm, my guild that was linked above that is literally named We Run Dungeons, and does nothing but run dungeons, wasn’t enough dungeons for you? Dungeons.
I’m curious as to what else you’re looking for, or what my guild lacks. Dungeons.
Thanks.
Dungeons.
What server are you guys on? I need a reliable source of fellow dungeon enthusiasts!
We’re on the US server!
I believe Tarnished Coast has a large role playing population, you might want to check out this site if you’re really interested in role playing:
http://guildwars2roleplayers.com/forum/m/2737230/viewforum/1265348
(They also have an EU side if you decide you want to go there)
Are you tired of spamming map chat trying to get a group together to do CM exp paths? Is there nobody answering your cries of “LFG” in Caledon Forest? Come join We Run Dungeons [PvE]! A guild entirely dedicated to helping people find groups to run dungeons.
I created this guild to help find groups for running dungeons. That is the guild’s sole purpose and mission.
I’m in another guild that has a great community, has fun events, and loves to do WvW, but, they hardly ever run dungeons. Asking around in LA, and seeing threads about it here, it seems like other people have the same problem. So I created a guild to help people find groups for dungeons
Dungeon instances are cross-world, so it doesn’t even matter which home world you’re on, guild chat spans all of them. Invite your friends, invite your family, invite the random people you PUG’d with that one time you completed CoF! And when you’re done running dungeons for the day, just switch back over to your main guild without missing a beat. With GW2’s innovative guild feature, your characters can be a member of up to 4 different guilds, and switch in and out of them at will. The only thing that changes when you represent a different guild is who your guild chat gets sent to!
We’re currently sitting at around 15 members with more joining daily. Everyone that joins gets invite privileges to be able to invite additional likeminded dungeon runners! (I’m also looking for a few officer types that can handle removing troublesome people from the guild when I’m not online. It hasn’t become an issue yet, but I’d like to nip that in the bud (hah, sylvari joke) before it becomes a problem.)
I currently have several C3 rooms reserved for free voice chat purposes (We all know that dungeon runs go smoother with voice chat). As we expand I’ll continue adding new chat rooms for people to use as well. (C3 is a free ventrilo type voice chat program that’s run by the amazingly good people at Vivox, get it for free at DownloadC3.com).
Shoot me a message or a mail ingame to get yourself a shiny new invite to the best dungeon running guild out there! For ease of use, my character’s name is Red Rabbit, but don’t be terribly surprised if the whisper you get back is from some other colored rabbit.
As a side note, I said the word “Dungeon” 11 times here, plus once more in the title.
Home World: Sanctum of Rall (but open to all players on all worlds, read notes)
Guild Name: We Run Dungeons [PvE]
Guild Website: None currently, we just started
In-Game Contact: Red Rabbit
Focus: We are entirely focused on running dungeons as a guild group.
Quick Notes: I created this guild to not be anyone’s primary guild (unless of course all you ever want to do is run dungeons every second that you’re online). The idea being that you can switch into this guild when you’re looking for a group of people to do a dungeon with, and when you want to go PvP or WvW with your regular guild you can switch back over to them with no issues. Because dungeons are instanced, you can group up with players across multiple worlds with no issues. We have voice chat for anyone to use.
I appreciate all the offers guys. I’ll be taking a look through the guild sites you’ve all linked to me tonight and try and get ahold of some of you in game to chat.
My friend and I are looking for a guild to join. We’re trying to do more of the dungeon explorables, and we simply don’t have the roster available to do so. We have no issues transfering to another server, and since launch have played on 5 or 6 different servers.
First and foremost we’re looking for a guild that has an ample number of people that enjoy running dungeons. Secondary to that, we’d prefer to join a server that has relatively low WvW queues.
We both enjoy doing WvW and sPvP, but we’ve found we can have plenty of fun without needing a large organized group for either of these activities. So, again, we’re looking for a guild that has a significant number of members that run dungeons. We’re leaving an 80 person guild that recruited us because despite having 10-20 people online during prime time we could never get full groups together and would have to PUG for dungeons.
I’m 28 and generally play 2-3 hours per day and have an 80 Thief, 5X Warrior, 3X Guardian, 3X Elementalist. My friend is 21 and plays 1-2 hours per day and has a 5X Thief, and some other lower level characters (He was out of the country the last 3 weeks, so fell behind on leveling). We’re in the US (Pacific and Mountain time zone respectively) and have microphones/headsets/voice software and generally play during prime time hours. Any other questions, feel free to ask.
Login server is having issues. They posted it to Twitter, but unfortunately aren’t intelligent enough to also post issues like this on their official forum.
Aha! Think I found it. It’s slated for the 10/1 update.
If you don’t want to wait, try this:
At the third tower, there are several spawns of undead. Kill the risen krait last. I think the problem is that one of the beach spawns does some other stuff, and was also part of the “Clear the beach” objective, which is based on killing about 3-4 total spawns, so if you did both at the same time, it would do the “other stuff” and not do the stuff it’s supposed to after the objective is completed.
This worked for me!
I’d attempted this quest about 4 times and /bug’d it in game. This quest is still incredibly buggy though. At multiple points throughout the pathing the pack animal or the soldiers will get stuck on terrain and simply sit there the rest of the quest. When I finally completed it I had only the leader charr and the demolitionist guy still following me, the pack animal, the other soldiers, and all the Wylde Hunt sylvari had gotten stuck in terrain and were just standing around at different points on the map.
Can I suggest that perhaps instead of the “once combat is over sprint back to where we were on the path before combat started” they instead warp there? From what I saw it seemed to be their running back after combat that caused them to clip into terrain and get stuck.
Why is there a chance of Mystic Forge to produce a Soulbound item?

Because in the list of possible random rewards are karma items. Karma items being character bound.

Someone posted this image of themselves on Reddit with no additional information.
As a Warrior, I never looked twice at medium armor, so I’m at a complete loss as to which pieces and sets this gear comes from.
Well, almost a complete loss. The hood is the starting thief hood if you choose the Subterfuge biography option.
Does anyone know what the chest piece and shoulders are?
NCSoft has this page:
http://us.ncsoft.com/en-gb/legal/user-agreements/guild-wars-2-rules-of-conduct.html
Which contains 2 links to GW2 legal documents, the Naming Policy, and the User Agreement (http://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-naming-policy.html and http://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-user-agreement.html respectively).
These links are no longer valid, and searching around the site for a few minutes, I wasn’t able to find the new location of these policies.
