Just a quick update…I had the best luck today…got an endless repair contract from a BLC. Sold it and bought the rest of my Charged Lodestones to make Mjolnir!!!

Big thank you to everyone who gifted me Lodestones to get to this goal…there were several of you. I will have a pic added into my original post to show that I did make it and it is Mine, Mine, Mine!!!

EDIT: AND I had enough Gold left to buy all the drinks I needed for Winter’s Presence! So I have achieved both goals!!!

Just a couple of reminders:

1. Please read some of the older posts as people often track what they are asking for if it happens to be mats for crafting.

2. It doesn’t always have to be about Gem Store items. Ask for things you need in game as well like mats or help getting achievements or collection pieces.

3. Please update your posts, so we can all help each other more efficiently.

I love this thread, and often help out those looking for things in game as much as I can. I don’t have the extra bank for Gem stuff either, so I try to help out anyone the best way I can.

This is a PvE build I have used for a LONG time. Probably very outdated and not optimal…but my minions seem to last forever. The only thing I use repeatedly is “Rise!”, obviously. The others, once I cast them, it seems like they are pretty tough to kill. I’ve found really learning and paying attention to how you set up your minions to use their “special” skill can make big differences in a fight. I often use Shadow Fiend(which many people hate that minion) when I know I will need to focus a single boss, as that damage+blind can actually save an ally or provide an opening for a big spike.

Again this is PvE…in WvW these guys melt pretty quick…lol I don’t play PvP very often, but I have done a build using Death Magic, Blood Magic, and Reaper and had good luck with it…but I can’t remember it for the life of me right now…been a long time since I have PvP’d.

She is using the W key to move forward and space bar for jumping, and she is using the mouse to control the direction and camera angle. Holding down the right mouse button while slightly moving the mouse will (with default settings) change the angle the camera is facing, and (if used while running) will also change the direction in which you are running.

That’s how I do jumping puzzles (especially this one), as well. Basically, my right mouse button is just being held down the entire time, with me moving the mouse to the direction I need to go. And I’m either holding down or carefully tapping the W key to move forward as needed. It works well for me (a lot better than slowly turning using the other direction keys), even with my own small hands.

I do this using the same method. I have been able to complete this JP in years past. I have although ran into something odd happening this year I have not had happen in years past.

On the path where you are avoiding the giant snowballs…on the last stretch before you make the final jumps to the end…I have been running right in the middle…and all of a sudden I am sliding down the side…i haven’t dodged, or stopped or changed direction…its the last segment where you run and jump to the “spilled” presents…I am running up the path and its like I run off the side. Its happened every time I have tried this year. Definitely odd.

I can understand and sympathize with the frustration, but give the method Rose and Black Iris have suggested a try. Frustration is a hard thing to handle, but keep trying…work each segment and you will get a pattern down. I always run the path on the far right. It may not be the best choice, but its the one I learned best(and was easiest for me) and I can complete the snowflake section pretty easily now to get to the midway point and be safe.

Great idea…I do something similar…except I do mine randomly and just appear in different cities and give away some of the Wintersday gifts I collect.

It appears that the Secret Lair of the Snowmen lies just to the west on the southern end of Bitterfrost Frontier where we enter the area from Frostgorge Sound.

Now I don’t mean to get anyone’s hopes up, I’m just speculating here…but anyone think maybe…just MAYBE…the devs might be planning to add that in as something new we could access for Wintersday?(I know…not much new has been added in the past few holidays…but I try to keep hope alive )

I mean it looks like we’re in the area of Boreal Station…just south of the Eye of the North…with Olafstead underwater in the center of the Bay to the north…and the green area looking to touch at what would be the entry area to the Charr Homeland…so it would be very cool to get some nostalgia added in here.

Disclosure: I just started playing the new area…computer died a big death and had to wait for a payday to pick up the necessary replacement parts.

A guildie had all 3 pieces of the Svanir Disguise…used them…but then went out of bounds and it dropped the transform…which I understand is supposed to happen.

The weird thing was, the chest piece disappeared. It was no longer in his inventory. He has to find another one. (He hasn’t gotten it yet, but we also have not gone Svanir hunting again…yet. )

Is this a one-use gizmo and then it consumes a piece and you have to get another one? Or was this just a crazy happening and it should be collect them once and use them forever?

Just as an FYI…if you had either Mad Memories skins, and lost them before the wardrobe implementation…often times Customer Support can return those to you. I have read threads before where people asked about it, and several replies posted stating to open a ticket, and if they can verify you got it, they mail it back to you to unlock in your wardrobe.

I’m not sure if they can do the same for Toymaker’s Bag…but I would think if it can be verified, they would do the same for that one as well.

It helps everyone know how many you still need, if you still need them, and sometimes when you get down to the wire, people help push you over the finish line when you get really close.

I have to agree…make the seasonal item a “4th” item by default…not taking up a slot that now could be something(not a booster) in the RNG table.

Myself…I will just wait until after the update next Tuesday to do anything with BLCs. I’m patient.

Rubies and Petrified wood are not used for crafting anything though…….

These items belong in the wallet, not in mat storage

But, they can both be salvaged for Unbound Magic…so it makes them a unique kind of ‘salvageable’ currency. So the argument can be made for both cases.

I definitely do not know the best answer for those 2 specific items…but I share the wish that they would be put somewhere…storage or wallet…but storage seems to make a little more sense since you can take them out of a Mat Storage spot easier than getting them back out of the wallet in case you need to salvage some. So I lean more toward a Mat Storage spot.

If you don’t like the look and transmute it, you lose the cooly “transformation” which is kinda what give you the “prestige”. I’m unique enough with my mix-n-match armor…never seen anyone else with my heavy armor combo…so my “uniqueness” quota is met…:)

Unfortunately a Marauder’s Staff is Account Bound when made by an Artificer.

If you have a Lvl 400 Artificer, it might be better to list the ingredients you do not have, and need to make one, since unfortunately no one can make it for you.(That whole annoying account bound thing…:) )

I am one of the players who likes a nice solid “normal” looking weapon. Its why I acquired Belinda’s Greatsword (Nodachi). I liked the Dragon Kamas(but I missed them first time out, so waiting for a re-offer). They are basic, clean, and very cool.

It woudl make my Halloween if these became available. Reward, Gem Store, or BL Tickets.

As with anything, I like some of our weapon and armor skins, and others do not appeal to me. Kudos to the artists, designers, and devs for the work you do. ok…firts off…full disclosure…I pretty much suck at 1v1 and small group in WvW.

I had more fun playing this than I have had in a long time…and I actually got some kills in small group fights. (It was like 6-7 v 6-7)

I didn’t go all in, so I ran a combo of 4 zerker(Head, Body, Legs, Boots) and 2 Valk(Gloves, Shoulders) armor. With also combo Zerk/Valk trinkets(I had been tweaked for a heavy crit hitter). And it worked really well. So thanks for this…I had been looking for something to help with all the times I get locked down and steam-rolled. I used my current LB which is in the build below, but I plan to make an alternative for WvW.

Do you run this in PvE?
I kept the traits, but just swapped out the Wolf for Jaguar, the heal, 1 utility, and the elite and it seemed to work really well in PvE too. Thanks again, I enjoyed the video…you didn’t just throw the build out and show some footage and say “Bob’s you uncle, go be bad kitten .”…you described things, how things worked together, and what to look for…and that helped me a lot.(I’ve been playing GW since GW1, and GW2 since Beta Weekends…but I just can’t get the timing down , or see some synergies of skills/traits to improve in WvW. You have helped me to not suck as bad…:) )

Keep it up…I look forward to seeing your most recent Rev build/video for WvW. I encourage you to do a thread in that sub-forum as well(if you haven’t, honestly writing this before I even looked…lol).

Unfotunately…I had this issue as well…

I was fortunate enough to let a commander know; who was organizing at the gate right by the Prime, that I needed to kill it, and he was nice enough to lead the whole group into the cave and we took it down.

So I would say, find a map organizing for the meta…be that commander, or see if the commander at that gate would help you out. It may take a couple times, but there are some considerate commanders out there who woudl help with this.

I can see limiting it to certain hairstyles…or matching…if you have long hair, leave some out at the bottom minus the braids/decoration/etc. Just match hair length.

They try to hide it with a little scarf, but the character is still pretty clearly bald. I remember this being an issue in mmos, like 10 years ago. The fact that a modern triple-A mmo still has this problem is frankly pretty embarrassing.

I have great braids on my toon, and if they still laid down the back when wearing this, it would look so cool. I always disliked the way hats and certain helms make you bald when a toon has long hair.

I will most likely still get it to finish out the look of the Savage Pirate on my Asura Warrior…but will be really happy if the hair stays!

I only did this with my main currently, which is a Vanilla Warrior(not with Berserker loaded). I think I was downed once when I dodged past an orb when trying to shut down the flame circles.

Or am I misunderstanding which part was the big challenge to everyone?

What professions are you guys having so much trouble with? Just curious as I bring my other toons up through the story.

I’m sure if you feel you haven’t gotten the Map Completion reward, you could open up a support ticket and they could look to verify if that character had received the reward. We all know new areas sometimes have hiccups…so that would be the direction I woudl go if I thought I did not get the reward.

P/P – SB Thief was a great way to play in WvW in a group(I’m not a great 1v1 player), so for people like me Ricochet was a very useful trait. I miss it a lot.

It dropped below 100%? I find that weird if they won’t let you get a reward for achieving 100% again…it should stay at 100%, even if the Hearts reset.

I think they look….entertaining. By far not the worst weapons set I have seen in our game.

I have to also agree, the price is WAAAAAAAAY over the top. I won’t be having any of these weapons anytime soon…:)

Here’s my suggestions:
Chaos Shield(Pricey on the TP)
Diamond Aegis(If you played GW1, its an HoM reward)
Gallant Shield (3 BL Tickets)
Guardian of the Six (Exotic shield just under 2Gold on TP)
Kryta’s Embrace(just under 3G on TP)
Pact Tower Shield (about 3.5Gold on TP, or complete personal story and choose it as reward.)
Privateer Shield (1 BL Ticket)

These are all nice skins…don’t worry about stats if you like a skin, just apply it from the wardrobe to a shield with stats you will use.

Only had a short time to play last night…on finding devices in story(no spoilers).

Pros:
Map is great. Its HUGE! I even did some ley-line gliding just to open up map and didn’t get it all uncovered.

I find it pretty easy to get around, even without having the thermal tube thing open yet.

I am enjoying the LS so far.

I LIKE the Hearts. They are simple, not grindy. I finished each one in less than 5 mins. I like making them repeatable as part of the Map-Dailies. If you don’t liek hearts…just don’t do them. I’ll take all the extra Unbound Magic/Petrified Wood I can get.

Cons(read as suggestions more than actual “Cons”):
I do think it would be cool to have a mix of the “triple threat” destroyers, but also some regular ones mixed in there as well. It woudl just add to the feel of the “Fire Islands”.

There’s some map holes…places you can slip into and get stuck and have to waypoint out. I hope people are reporting these so they can be fixed.

I am missing the regular denizens of the Fire Islands. I know its been 250 years…but small spots where they could be concentrated due to this new overrun of Destroyers would be cool.

I really wish we could get a tab for the new currencies/tools. (Rubies, Crowbars, Machetes, Petrified Wood, etc.) They are starting to pile up in INV spaces. I know, I could bank them and have to get them out each time I was oging somewhere…or use shared spaces(but I haven’t been able to afford getting more than the initial 5 and 1 freebie(and since 3 of those get taken up by gathering tools…its not enough space anyway). Lets get a tab or add them to the Wallet…I know not all of them are currencies…but the ones that open things may as well be considered a currency.

Overall, I like it a lot. Stay on this course, and I’ll sail along with you. Keep up the good work.
