Im not going to expect much but i would really love the deathly pauldrons skin if anyone might have an extra one. It would be the perfect finishing touch for one of my characters but i cant ever dream of affording it.

(That or the raiment of the lich either would be amazing ..i need to stop listing things)

There’s some speculation that older Halloween items and skins will be returning…again, just speculation…so keep your eyes open…you may get a chance at scoring the pauldrons yourself, or perhaps someone will get lucky and get an extra to drop and share with you. You never know.

Reaper and minions?

Minion AI was upgraded a couple patches back. Works much better than in the past.

Personally, here’s the trait setup I use and what I am currently using gear-wise. Anything that is blank is because I have not settled. The Runes will probably change as I think now there may be better choices.

The Master and Grandmaster in the Reaper line could change…still working that part out.

This is just an idea to start…I look forward to seeing others thoughts and ideas on this. This is for PvE…and only in WvW when you are part of a larger group. It doesn’t have the DPS output to be a good solo roamer or anything.

A refund of Gems was never mentioned…I would have been open to that option. Alas, perhaps it was only a reactionary option as you said.

Sadly it was a “no” to both ideas. No way to move items between accounts and no way to substitute.

I would like to pick up the Account Jump Start. However, I have already purchased(during previous sales) my maximum amount of Bank Tabs.

Is there any way support could, or would, assist me by moving a Tab to each of my 2 daughters’ accounts? Or moving them both to just one of the accounts?

Or if I could get more bag slots instead of Bank Tabs, that would work too.

I figure the answer will be “No.”, but it never hurts to ask.

Heh I had expected something like this to happen 3 years ago when I sent in a support ticket asking if key farming was seen as an exploit and warned it could become negative for their wallet in the long run.

I’m interested to see the change…I have had maybe 3-5 keys drop in open world content since head start…lol.

Never did key farming…but bought a few when they would go on sale…so I have a TON of chests(and I seem to get 1-4 more every time I do world-boss events)…so getting keys at least a little more often would be greatly welcomed.

But lets be real…I ain’t holding my breath…i’ll probably still get more keys if i started farming 1/week on PS…lol

This is another reason to add in the Arena to LA like was in the novels. GvG, 1v1 duels…and all that could be spectated, and even have wagers. I’ve said this should be there for a long long time.

And yes, you can GvG and 1v1 in WvW…check out Obsidiam Sanctum in WvW on any given Thursday(when many servers do “Fight Nights”).

So, why not have a place to do it in PvE as well? Go to the arena and set up you duel. Not just a fight in the open world…make it something special.

So I posted my two-cents on berzerker last week, but one idea I’ve had since then:

Berzerk has a fixed duration, but can only be used once you’ve built up enough adrenaline. I’d love to actually see “berzerk” act almost like a life-force pool, where you can extend the duration you are berzerk by building more adrenaline. I just love the idea that I’m berzerk, and the more I attack the more frenzied I become.
~Primal burst skills would instead use 60% of your adrenaline.
~Attacks would give you like 5% of your adrenaline, but berzerk costs 10% of your adrenaline per second.
~Prevents weapon swapping.

I think this would also really increase the reward for PvE warriors into a more risk/reward scenario: sure you’ll be doing more damage, critically hitting more often, and attacking faster, but you’ll also be much more fragile and more limited in your options once you’ve gone full berzerk.

Interesting line of thought…I’d be willing to live through tweaks for this…:) It would be interesting to hear Mr. Gee’s thoughts on this.

“Rise!”: Updated minion models. Increased vitality and toughness of minions by 33%, but decreased minion power by 40%. This skill now summons one minion by default plus one additional per target hit. Shambling Horrors now apply Dark Bond to their master as soon as they are summoned but must still attack to maintain the bond.

Minion master Reaper can have up to 11 minions now _

Death Nova: 2
Lich Form: 5
Rise: 6
Bone Minion: 2

That’s 18 not 11 :-)

Even if you remove Lich Form for Golem, that would still be 14 and not 11.

And if you can manage a second ‘Rise!’…that magical “20” is more within reach…I think I have hit 16…but things were moving so fast I may have miscounted…so lets say 14-16 is where I hit last BWE during a big event fight in the new area defending a camp.

As a devote MM player…thanks for tweaking YSIM…I’m looking forward to trying it out. Keep your eye on it…this is better, but may need just a smidge more love…but we’ll see in the next BWE.

Decimating Defenses still takes the spot over Soul Eater…so I hope you keep an eye there for more improvement to SE.

I like the Chill line in Reaper. Although, I have to agree…in PvE…its really almost pointless…the regular mobs can be handled without the chill…and bosses(where we need it) are typically immune. Perhaps ‘Chill’ in general needs to be re-evaluated and tweaked across the game rather than changing things for the Reaper?

Overall, I feel these are all positive and moving in the right direction. Thanks for your previous and continuing work on these, Mr Gee.

Don’t just revert it…make it better.

Ranger – Warhorn sounds like Horn of Gondor…sound to call support or send warning.

Warrior – Deep booming sound…like sounds of battle horn from a Conan movie.

Necro – Similar to original sound, but with more menace, both low and high pitches…like quarter-tone differences or a minor 7th chord or something…should be eerie and a bit scary.

This fart-cannon thing is just ridiculous. Change it…Please…please twice?

Played it for quite a while. Just used the celestial stuff that we got by default…so not maxxing with Clerics anything.

As long as I used RISE correctly(by that i mean when a large group of enemies was near) I believe my max count of Minions was at 12…things were moving fast, so I could be off +/- 2. I know for a fact I got to 10, as I got to stop and count them a couple times…and typically i was at 10 when out of combat. Do we know if there is a minion cap? If it has been stated before, I have missed it.

Here’s what I used…and yes I realize its not maximized, as I was experimenting and playing. I did not include armor, runes, sigils, or trinkets. Just skills, traits and weapons

My only feedback to add so far:

Negative:
Shattering Blow – Really clunky. Did not work well. The animation on the skill itself seemed very rushed, as it almost happened all in the span of like <1/2 sec. Out in the SWs and inb the Beta area, most mobs were barely affected by it…at least it seemed that way.

Maybe adding an interrupt when the rock pieces hit? Not sure how to comment on improving this.

Positive:
I only used GS and Hammer. Those bursts were fun…damage was OK…might need a ever-so-slight tweak to improve there. Likely applies to all of the Berserker Bursts.

I always had great fun running my P/P – SB Thief in WvW..he couldn’t take much melee, but if he was in a group and could stay at distance…he was a beast and made whole groups look around saying “Whu? Where did that come from?” Nothing like downing a big ol’ warrior form a stealth #1 and then 2 Unloads back-to-back…plus all that bounce damage would completely distract people and tag them for lots of bag drops…lol

I admit to being a little slow, but aren’t the dyes from the birthday gift account bound?

nekretaal claimed that the Zephyite Dyes are not account bound and that he sold his choices for 30 gold. Other people picked up this comment from there. I’m not sure if he made a mistake or if those dyes are actually sellable. It was my understanding that all dyes from that gift are account bound.

It is absolutely a nerf. Not to a skill but to an entire play style.

That change would do nothing to combat the parts of WvW where stealth classes are actually strong (roaming) it would just serve to make them weaker in large scale fights (where they are already very weak).

PU needs to be toned down across the board, but completely breaking stealth classes in WvW isn’t the solution. Especially when there are already so many ways to deal with the problem you are complaining about.

That’s exactly why I said this…Stealth while roaming or in open field should be left alone. That is where Stealth needs to be the strongest…duh. Again…not a nerf. This does not completely break Stealth Classes…that’s a blanket generalization that adds a level of fallacy to your counter-point.

Remember…reading is fundamental…the only time you would lose the ability to Stealth is when you were in a keep/tower, and it flipped from your ownership to an opponents ownership. You know what, someone mentioned before…make it last the same as RI while we have instant wall/gate repairs…that would work too. The thing is you get revealed. You can’t just continually re-stealth. If you can stay hidden and alive through the RI…again, congratulations…you have more skill than smashing your Stealth skill buttons…Portal-Away…you’ve earned it…lol

And just so Puck, Jayne, and Fenrir know…we sweep a keep/tower after we take it, religiously…and we usually do leave people in keeps when we have the population playing to do this…but that is a server population issue. If we don’t have the man power to do that…then we sweep, and have to move on…since at times we are usually a 8-15 man group doing borderlands watch…which can sometimes keep us busy.

Mesmer Stealth is just too much. This is an idea to add some balance without going all the way to the nerf-gun and pulling the trigger.

So basically what you’re saying is since you don’t run a stealth heavy build you are okay with them being nerfed into oblivion and everyone that does run them can go kitten themselves. All so you don’t have to drop a stealth trap.

Not at all. I am in no way saying nerf it into oblivion. Stealth can be very useful. I am agreeing that it is currently OP on Mesmers, and to a point on Thieves. That’s what this thread is about…discussing solutions.

My suggestion is not a nerf…at all…I said nothing about changing anything about the skills. Only about where and when it can be used. Inside an enemy controlled fully repaired keep…which is actually, if you think about it, a very small portion of the WvW side of the game. That is a balancing limitation. Not a nerf.

Balancing limitations force creative use of existing options. I know that can be challenging to some who have come to reply on the ease of the OP Stealth availability. But with a little effort, this limitation would actually require minimal change for players who know their class and how to work in a group.

Run a regular glass thief build, bringing traits and skills that rely on stealth to survive, and go jump into a zerg fight without using stealth once. See how long you survive.
Considering most thieves only condi cleanse in their build comes from shadow arts you will pretty much get wrecked by the first condi that gets applied to you.

And don’t argue they can build to not use stealth. I know it’s possible, I’ve done it myself. But if your idea went through that means any stealth build would be completely useless in WvW because you could never jump into fights around towers or keeps. You would be destroying build diversity for several classes.

I suppose it comes back to personal choice, I guess.

1. I would never run a glass thief in WvW. I think that is foolish.
2. Condi Clear is a problem…granted…but it is a problem that can be dealt with. (Sigils of Generosity and Purity are good for that…there’s that darn versatility again.)
3. By relying on Stealth so heavily, you limit your own build diversity. I can cause a whole lot of havok and mayhem with the skill slots that get ate up by a heavy Stealth build. I am speaking only of my Thief…i won’t play my Mesmer in WvW, by choice.
4. I can assure you that if they put into place what I suggested; I could play a very versatile Thief build that uses Stealth very effectively. I do it now, since I won’t play perma-stealth cheese builds.

Again, personal perspective and choice. Its ok if you need to play those builds.

When we are fighting to defend a keep we always send a couple of guys to take out the siege and minimally repair the wall to keep the players we killed from streaming back in. We can have the wall closed and still fight for a good 15 minutes.

Just because you get by just fine in a group with no thieves and mesmers doesn’t mean those classes deserve to fight at a huge disadvantage any time they are attacking a structure.

Again, if losing your Stealth is a huge disadvantage, I’m not sure even my idea can overcome the lack of a diverse skill set and versatile application of said diverse skills.

I totally agree with you on not crippling a class with a mechanic as the one suggested but really what tools?

And I am cool with it too, if they just lower the potential for a “perma-stealth” situation. A longer cooldown on the stealth skills or something where there is a break in the stealth in order for someone to be seen if they don’t know how to hide well. Teh reveals we have a far from adequate, as you pointed out to deal with it in its current state.

I don’t have much faith that will happen…thus my suggestion…that’s all.

To keep things balanced, which core functionalities would you remove from Ranger, Warrior, Elementalist, Revenant, Guardian, and Necromancer? I mean, we’re talking “fair” here, right? As in it’s “unfair that a mesmer can stealth inside a keep.” So if you’re taking away a core ability from one class, it’s only fair to take something away from other classes too, right? Do you see where this is going? There is no need to introduce class crippling mechanics against only one or two classes because some players refuse to use the tools given to them.

This has nothing to do with a need for across the board class-crippling. This limits 1 ability. Stealth. It doesn’t apply to Mesmers alone…Mesmers and Thieves being the most predominant in Stealth with Ranger a far distant 3rd. Notice also I said Mesmers should keep their Portals. This is to target a completely OP ability(and I play a Warrior or a Thief in WvW, and Stealth is only 1 tool in my Thief’s toolbox.) I can’t believe they censored [word]…even in leet speak spelling -defined as an array of weapons/resources available for a certain purpose …lol

I’m not sure you really read my post. I provided for a balance. Breach a wall or gate, get your stealth back. Victors of the objective decide not to repair the objective they have just taken? Keep stealth and its their own fault. While they are repairing, you can still stealth and get somewhere to hide, because when the repair is done, you get Revealed. Hide well and the repairing group isn’t thorough, you’re still there(and still have your portals). In the current game, get caught when the walls and gate auto-repair, I would hope you or your group is skilled enough to not have to rely on Stealth as their only path to victory, evasion, or escape.

I’m not trying to be snitty, and this is a general statement, not directed at any one person. If you have to rely on Stealth THAT much as a Mesmer or Thief. You really need to branch out and play more classes and understand strategy and group synergies in WvW a bit better. I run with groups in WvW that have no Thieves or Mesmers in them…and we do just fine.

I get that its a tactic, and its a viable tactic…but its also unbalanced due to the never ending stealth that is becoming and will continue to become all the more prevalent in WvW.

Simple solution:
When an enclosed(walled) objective is captured. – Revealed is applied to all enemies in all areas inside the tower/keep/castle. Permanently(no timer like RI). (Stealth being disabled for all professions with access to it when inside an enemy controlled, fortified objective with no breaks(in walls or gates) for enemy access in the perimeter. This would not include camps or sentry positions, as they are not enclosed/fortified.)

When a gate or wall is breached, this effect is removed.

Ex #1: Bust a wall, stealth the group, CHARGE!

Ex #2: All 3 servers have a group inside Stonemist(or Hills or Bay or etc.). A wall and gate have been breached. All Stealth is working. Server 1 takes the Objective as the other 2 groups are fighting in the courtyard. The wall and gate are rebuilt. Servers 2 and 3 now lose their Stealth tools/skills. Hopefully your group is good enough to not have to rely on stealth alone to win.

If this were implemented, I would also like to see:
Repairs do NOT automatically happen. The base supply when an objective is taken would have to be increased by enough to allow for repairs to be made by the controlling server. Once the repairs are made, the “Revealed” condition on the inside of the objective activates.

If this were put in place…Portal Away…if you’re good enough to stay hidden from a group doing a sweep when you can’t stealth…you’ve earned it. Just realize you won’t be able to stealth, and neither will your allies if you portal them in without breaching a wall or gate.

I went through a time, about a year ago now…where I got a key for almost every map I completed. I have probably only gotten 2-4 from mob drops in the 3 years of playing. All of a sudden the drop rate changed for map completions…I seem to remember a post about that changing in an update…just can’t remember which one. Now…it feels like its more likely that I will get an ascended than a key at any given time…lol

Tentatively excited…but please, for the love of all that’s good in the world…get rid of those gorram straight up in the air horns on that cooly skull helmet! I mean it would be the perfect finish for my armor…if it just didn’t have the horns!

I am waiting as well…note, that does not mean I am excited, hopeful, or pleased with this…just that I am willing to wait to see if somehow this can be salvaged in some way.

I am waiting to see what falls out when we shake the tree…I thought we had Bezerker enough with “Rampage”(before the last nerf)…but that’s just me…

Let me see if I can explain this in a way that is easy to understand.

  1. You open your Hero panel and open the Mastery tab.
  2. Choose the Mastery that you want to level.
  3. Run around killing things, doing events, getting xp. As your experience bar fills (like it would if you were trying to level your character) it fills your Mastery bar up.
  4. Once said bar is full you choose to use a Mastery point to train that Mastery.
  5. Once that is done you choose the next one that you wish to train.

I had trouble figuring out how to do this so I have no doubt that others were also confused.

I think this is the easiest explanation I have seen yet. I must have missed the tutorial offered, cause I never saw anything to grab my attention to view it.

This may become my favorite profession when the wrinkles get smoothed out.

Not gonna make this long. I am pretty much on-board with the following assessments:

1. Energy + CD = too much. Adjustments need to be made to several skills.

2. All of the Legends and Weapon skills need some work. The specifics have been covered well in the previous posts.

3. Jalis Elite does need some specific tweaking. Making it interruptible is fine, but its just too easy to interrupt at this time. Ventari Legend also needs some very focused attention.

Quick shout out to Ark Bladesteel…keepin’ it real…For the Henge!

I’d like to say thanks to all of you that have posted, I like seeing people providing constructive help on this forum. Its a refreshing change from the norm.

Thanks Roy, for listening and taking these things into account when you are working out the kinks on this new profession. Knowing sometimes its not possible due to the nature of your job, I want to compliment you on the way you try to keep us in the loop. It is very appreciated.

I think something like this would work for Guild Halls. Members could put up pictures of members they have lost, officers, members they want to recognize for some reason, or maybe just pictures of their favorite place.

I think this is cool, but may be a bit much to ask for to start. I think trying to keep things a bit simpler and more attainable, would be easier to get time allotted for it. A simple Wall in the Guild Hall, with Placards (similar to what we click to read on the tombstones, maybe the name would show when you hover over it in game) that can be populated with a name and then a small amount of text( to use to remember someone or to praise a goal attained), would be a great way to start. Then it could be expanded as use or requests warranted.

Please, just so everyone knows…this was not my idea…I just got behind it in a big way since I have lost meaningful friends and family and was very empathetic to the posts that are linked in this thread. Perhaps I have shown a little too much zeal, as I do not want it to get discounted or removed due to an inadvertent violation on my part. I value the stories people tell. This is why I support this so adamantly.

I don’t use Rampage all the time, but it can be useful and fun…its not a L2P thing. This Elite has gotten torked since release and it never seems to get better. Its never been balanced effectively…ever.

20 Sec Duration – 150 Cooldown = Better than Normal

15 Sec Duration – 150 Cooldown = Acceptable

15 Sec Duration – 180(3 Mins) Cooldown = Unbalanced(and not int he Warrior’s Favor)

15 Sec Duration – 180 Cooldown – Way to shorten cooldown on Elites (like we have for Signets affecting Sig of Rage) = Maybe

Just feels like we keep getting a wee bit of love and then get gut punched right after…kinda like offering a kid a lollipop and then slapping it out of their mouth into the dirt…that just ain’t right.

Come on folks, post your support here. Lets get a Dev to comment on this…even if its just to say…“We’re considering it.” or “We have something for this already.”(as unlikely as that statement would be)

This would mean a lot to many Guild Wars players, and could be very versatile in usage.

Help out this idea by posting your support and helping keep it on the front page so it doesn’t get forgotten.

Obligatory bump to make sure we, as a community don’t lose sight of this. It’s too important/meaningful to let it go into the long dark spiral of the deeper forum pages.

Another idea: A Wall of Memories/Glory: Make a wall where small placards could be placed that have the Character Name on them. When you click them they are like the gravestones in the game and list some details that can be added/updated by members. Make it a part of Guild Permissions to be able to edit these…maybe included with the permission to edit message of the day. (Just to try to help prevent intra-guild griefing.)

Taiyoroku, I do understand your point, but I would hope a leader would be a kind enough person to want to honor the wishes of the entire Guild and keep any remembrances that the Guild had added prior to this new member/leader’s arrival. That would show the character of being a true leader, by giving consideration to things like this.

Yeah…but you know they “don’t tell us everything”…lol…I was envisioning some “Rocket Man” type videos of people flying over and through LA 3.0…I am hopeful they go back and add the functionality to other cities and zones…Southsun would be very cool to do fly-overs…:)
