I think they’re supposed to drop at FoTM 51+.. problem is.. FoTM 51+ isn’t out yet. There was a topic on this awhile ago.
Is there any chance that fractal weapon skins can be changed from randomized drops to a weapon chest that we can select our skin of choice from? I don’t think the drop rate needs to be altered, it’s just that I feel that it would be better to allow us to choose the skin we want instead of getting a random skin every time — I’ve gotten multiple staffs and scepters long after unlocking them already.
It doesn’t have to have stats or anything.. I’d just be happy being able to select the skin I want so I can choose skins I don’t have.
Anyone else in favor of fractal weapon chests? :>
I love LA Map chat! It get’s whacky and weird sometimes. Post your Quotes of the day?

Thank you, Captain and Lieutenant obvious!”
I disagree with this. I run plenty of fractals daily, usually 3-5+ runs. And yes sometimes you get blanks on-end, but the majority of them are rings and ascendeds/skins which you don’t use anyway and end up complaining about later down the road(I’m at about 600-700+ rings right now on storage chars).
You also fail to take into account the amount of rares/exotics you get from the boss chests + mobs, that add’s up very quickly.
Fractals give alot of decent rewards, not just from dailies.
Been saving relics. This sound’s like a great idea.
Having run thousands of fractals, I’m not going to stop anytime soon. To me, it’s the most fun in-game content currently out.
And here ladies and gentlemen, we have prime examples of people who don’t respect someone elses preferences, even when they are clearly stated.
It doesn’t matter if there are more efficient ways to do something. These groups clearly advertised what they wanted. If you don’t fit the bill, don’t join. Period.

Warriors are still pretty good if used by someone who knows how to play the class. They bring ALOT to the table team-wise with boons and other things. Don’t listen to the forum people and their negatives about warriors. Everyone has their preference and sometimes people tend to belittle other classes in an attempt to make their class look better.
Warriors can:
+ the team almost permanenet 900-1080 power (Empower allies, Might stacks, STR banner)
+ the team permanent fury (For great justice + Discipline banner #2)
+ the team permanent swiftness
+ Great vigor uptime + Weakness to mobs.
+ Great DPS capabilities (GS spams -Switch- => Axe burst, Auto’s, Mace offhand spams -Switch- => More GS spams, etc, etc)
+ Banners (Very helpful)
+ Great self-damage multipliers ( +15%, +10%, +10% from traits, +5%-15% from weapon, +5-10% from armor)
+ help give vulnerability to mobs which Skyrockets overall team DPS.
+ Remove conditions with shouts, Warhorn(Quick breathing trait), whirl finishers in light fields, etc..
+ Great range dps for long-distance fights (RifleLongbow spams, and fast switching between both)
+ Fast res to downed players by using warbanner
Some other thing’s not stated, but Warriors bring quite a bit to the table and it doesn’t hurt having one, Just learn to play the class.
Try this ^. High dps, Excellent survivability. It’s an AH hammer build on Zerker gear. Just stand there and whack your Hammer 1 till the symbol’s down and staff empower for a decent 6-7k+ heal burst (self) w/ 2k+ to team. Freely switch your weapon’s depending on fights, etc (Scepter/mace/GS/Whatever). Use your healing breeze on team to heal up to 3 other people 4-5k hp and spam your aegis’.
Fractal Guild recruiting. PR 30 Minimum Req, Have AR,Experienced+. No rep req, War/Guard/Ele/Engi/Theif/Mes Welcome!, Raidcall(Voice com), Rank system(PR-based)
Sit down children and let me tell you a story..
One time.. I was in a PUG… and we posted " zerk,p1 + 2 thief." because that’s all we needed.. and this ele joined..
I then asked if he couldn’t read, because he went as ele when we obviously posted for thief..
this guy then proceeded to tell us that we couldn’t skip, acting all pro and stuff and he called me a noob.
he got kicked pretty fast by the team.
That’s a pug experience that happened to someone.. once. -The end.
Too many to list.. but top on my list are those guys who camp range weapons the whole run.. and at melee range on boss fights..
This is my ranger. Woodland Hamster.
Rangers are actually one of the new PvE meta.
They surpass guards and warriors in damage at the moment.AoE unique 15% damage boost. That stacks with Fury and Might.
People do not know that, though, because there’s 1 build that can do that and no other.
How in the world do ranger’s surpass warriors and guardians in DPS? Burst probably, with signet. But other than that, they have horribly low dps and that signet wont recharge anytime soon.
Equip a hammer and start auto attacking. #win
Go GS and staff.
Best bet is to camp staff auto and shoot #2, and #3 skills for dps. Throw an empower when available to might up and heal your party and yourself.
When he shields up, look for the NPC with the text bubble over his/her head (This will show you which NPC he will move towards)
When you find said NPC, go between him and NPC, and pop your WoR between the 2 (Position it so that its a line from him(Shaman) to the NPC)
Immediately swap to GS, and use #5 to hit as many ele’s as you can (proper positioning helps) then Pull them into the wall which will mitigate alot of damage to your party. (This will also set it up so that your team will hit those ele’s w/ AoE dps while they’re attacking shaman bubble since you pull the ele’s basically right under him resulting in faster kills on the eles)
After pulling the ele’s you spam all of your GS skills on them for a fat chunk of burst damage. (GS 4,3,2,1 order works best)
After the GS burst, switch back to staff, pop a Symbol #3, shoot off your @2, and auto atk with staff and keep spamming your empower whenever it recharges for heals and might.
Up your SoA if you feel that the team needs it (Low dps team/squishies), otherwise, save it for when you need it.
Here’s the Guardian build I currently use for fracts:
Zerk AH RubyMes V1

Utilities for shaman:
X, WoR(Wall of reflection), SoA(Shield of Absorption)
X =
Retreat(Aegis block) /
Purging Flames /
Sanctuary(If your team’s really garbage and needs the 3rd anti projectile for some reason) /
Radiation Field (Asura Race only, Use on the pulled elementals)
Berserker/Celestial AH Hammer guardian would be your best bet for tanking to some extent. Clerics is a huge loss of dps for your team, although you might see a little bit more healing, a vast majority of the tanking is due to the invulnerability, dodging and aegis that the guardian’s push out, not the heals.

Old vid, but this is an example of a Celestial AH Hammer Guardian. Build links are posted in Comments & Stat section.
I’m Type 1 all the way. Not rolling swamp usually if not always signifies that the team doesnt know what they’re doing and I don’t bother with them cause they end up needing to be carried throughout most of the run(bad tactics, builds, gear, now knowing how to play their class to benefit the team -Rifle warrior/P/P Thief, etc). There are the occasional exceptions (very very rare)
After your first few hundred runs, it should be easy to tell which teams to join/stay in from the first 10-20 seconds of the first fight / their actions.
Try Altruistic Healing Hammer Guardian. It’s pretty tanky. I can facetank bosses in 49/50 Fractals most of the time and still do 5-7k+ DPS on my 1 auto (Symbol + Hit)
Example Vid(This is an old setup but still viable):
(edited by ThyShadowPaladin.9521)
Depends what you do, but AH hammer Guardian is pretty tanky. Just have 1-2 people stand inside your symbol and you’re set for facetanking most things.
Here’s one of the builds I use. (It’s my Fractal setup)
*Note that I am an Asuran guardian, so Radiation field is on my bar.
It’s a good mix of stats so you can take damage and dish it out. Just change weapons depending on the occasion.
For the 20’s, do your PR lvl or maybe 1-2 higher, there’s no point spamming 29’s if you’re 20 PR to lvl, the reward chance doesn’t increase but the difficulty does.
For 31-40, Spam farm lvl 37 Fractals, then hit a 38, once you are 39 PR lvl, strap on 55 AR and do lvl 40 fractals(or 49) till you are PR 41, from 41-50 do FoTM 49 (Easiest mistlock)
PR = Personal Reward / Fractal lvl
AR = Agony ressistance
Gear:
Warriors.. generally you want to lean towards High power and Decent crit chance. Don’t take healing stuff or condi, those are horrible for fractals (Healing doesn’t do much and condi damage is /meh)
Zerker’s is what most people prefer but its up to you. It’s good to mix it up sometimes to up survivability.
Gear tips:
Your trinkets should lean towards zerker, since trinkets give more stat bonuses vs armor, you get more bang for the buck with a full zerk trinket setup + w/e armor than zerk armor + w/e trinkets.
Armor:
Knights – Decent armor/tougg, doesnt affect damage too much if you have zerk trinks.
Assassin – No point but its optional if it’s your only set and you can’t afford zerker.
Zerker – Pew Pew DPS! Pew Pew Squishy so dodge often.
PTV -If this is your only set & can’t afford another, Full zerk trinket setup
Celestial- Same as PTV, it’s got it’s uses, more armor, HP, decent Crit DPS, condi, etc. the Jack-of-Trades armor. If this is your only set, then strap on zerk trinkets +weapon, etc to up damage.
Other armors: Zerk trinks + wep for damage. That’s about it.
Runes:
Strength Runes – Great for warrior (If you can afford) this works well w/ most builds you’ll be using in fractals. Good +5% dps multiplier at the end.
Scholar – I’m not a big fan of this, since you most likely wont be over 90% hp on warrior for most fights (you loose the 10% Damage multiplier) but some people like it.
Mesmer Runes – Good Power/Prec boost. dont put all 6. 5 Mesmer runes and a ruby orb will up your stats pretty well.
Divinity – Not the best choice but gives a decent boost to all stats if you want some more hp or something. It’s cheap and like celestial, the Jack-of-Trades rune. (Just no extra benefits like Damage multipliers or Boon durations)
Travelers – My favorite rune TBH. <3 the 25% speed boost and the condition duration + Boon duration don’t hurt either. Just strap this on if you do alot of PvE stuff that requires alot of running or just want the 25% boost in speed w/o the need of trait or spamming skills for swiftness.
Ascendeds:
For ascended stuff, just cross your finger’s everytime you get daily chest from Tier 2+ (11+) its totally random. Some day’s you get 1-4 ascended items if you’re really lucky (Rings, Weapon/Armor chests) and some days not many.
Get your PR lvl up higher so that you get up to Tier 5 rewards (41-50 = Tier 5) From there do your daily tiers:
Tier 1: 1-10
Tier 2: 11-20
Tier 3: 21-30
Tier 4: 31-40 (Do FoTM 37/38, Easiest Mistlocks)
Tier 5: 41-50 (Do FoTM 49, Easiest Mistlock. You can do 50 if you had 70 AR but thats alot of gold/time&effort you’d have to invest, same rewards as a 49)
Also do them around reset or 1-1 1/2h after (Cause people do Teq and Wurms) if you’re PUGing and want to form teams faster.
Basically the same / Not a big difference.
Here’s a few builds I use for warrior:

If you’re running Mai Trin support, you should be camping Axe/Warhorn the whole fight. Rifle is terribad, at least with longbow you can blast your burst skill for might stacks
This is all preference based, I find Rifle hits more dps on mai than longbow therefore I take it. Yeah you can blast your LB burst but thats an optional thing to do. I highly suggest NOT camping a melee weapon for mai, too much unnecessary damage from physical dps + bleeds(Can argue about cond removal but you still take damage before its removed) To anyone planning on fighting mai with Range + WH offhand for cond removal, camp your range weapon and kite her at max melee range(to where she can’t hit you) and swap to Axe/Warhorn when you need to remove conditions, toss a quick 4 vuln, Vigor and swiftness to team and go back to range. This is what you should be doing in most PUG’s, if you have a good team setup, etc. then do other tactics.
Missed 7 months of fractals due to work, but Since I got back around 4-ish months ago I’ve been getting a few. Still missing pistol, shield, dagger.. scepter? and Tonic..(The duplicates are old-school fract weapons with stats) >.<

If you don’t pop shield before he reaches a villager, he will gain 25% HP or so once he reaches it, flies into the air, dives down, and gobbles up the villager.
Oh, I am (NA). Sorry if I didn’t state that before.
Hi! I’ve recently gotten back from a couple months of inactivity and I am searching for a fractals guild. I, being the fractals lover that I am would like to join a Fractals focused guild that does plenty of runs at an Experienced/Expert/Professional skill level.
I am also interested in doing guild missions, dungeons, Random stuff/events but my main focus is Fractals. —
-*A guild that has NO rep requirement is a must! I don’t mind representing a guild that I like during runs/ pug runs to increase popularity, but enforce a rep req and I’m out.
What I have to offer:
2 Warriors fully geared and ready to go up to Teir 6+ Fractals (70+ AR req) 1 Zerk, 1 Zerk/Knights mix.
1 Guardian fully geared and ready to go Teir 6+ (Celestial)
1 Guardian fully geared and ready to go up to Teir 5 fractals (Zerk)
1 Mesmer fully geared and ready to go up to Teir 5 fractals. (Soon to have 70+ AR, Zerk)
1 Theif fully geared and ready to go up to Teir 6. (Zerk)
Why do I mention Teir 6/6+? Because if someday they add lvl 51+ fractals, I’ve got multiple characters that can handle the AR req’s of up to FoTM 79/80 (85/100AR) and will be able to push for those levels with the guild.
If needed, I am able to level an Elementalist/Engineer to 80 and provide appropriate gear for up to Teir 5 on short notice.(About a month or so for Teir 6)
Why am I looking for just a fractals guild..?
I love fractals
What’s my level of experience?
1000+ successful fractal runs (400 pristine relics solid proof, I farm fractals for Karma+Relics but unable to provide proof of completion due to no relics given on repeated clears)
If you would like to have me or have a Q&A session, pls mail/PM me in-game -

I am seeking a Guild that does plenty of fractals(pretty much all I do). I am already in “Fractals of the Mind [FOTM]” but I am seeking a second fractals guild to expand my options/player pool.
What I’m looking for:
-Experienced daily runs 10-38 (I’ll join in on 40-49 once I get 55 AR)
-Good team setups and player elasticity.(Able to switch between classes depending on lvl/stage)
-Fast FoTM run’s. (I multi-character farm fractal’s so the faster it’s done, the sooner I can start on another one)
-Maybe some guild missions to speed up my goal of getting 55 AR on a couple characters.
-Some PvE Content. Mainly world bosses and temple runs (crafting ascendeds)
-No rep requirement.
What I have to offer:
-Experience. I have been doing fractals for awhile now and know most if not all of the tricks.
-I have most of the classes desired for fractals geared up and ready to go:
Mesmer – 45 AR
Warrior – 45 AR
Warrior – 35 AR (<3 Warriors)
Guardian – 45 AR
Thief- 35 AR
-I take the initiative. If I feel that we need/would be better off on certain level’s with a class different than the one I am currently using, I will switch for the benefit of the team + faster run. I’m not one to stay on 1 class the whole run. If we need heals/reflects/stab I’ll switch to a guardian. If we need to skip things, I’ll switch to thief/mes. etc..
- Can teach newbies/semi-exp player’s how to do fractals but i’d rather be doing exp runs.
Whisp/Mail me if interested/further questions for me:
