It’s a silly thing because it melts so fast that you lose more time waiting to los behind a pillar than you benefit from icebow magical targeting.
yup, doesn’t last even 5s
You’d be surprised at the amount of players (noobs or elitists) who still LoS stack for random encounters after the FGS nerf. But when you pug, you take what you can get.
Anet’s ToS has no clause about hurt feelings, sorry.
Sweet sweet karma. Any of you guys remember this? http://www.twitch.tv/purpleishawt/c/3744743
Super long time ago, some guy entered my instance back during the times that I used to sell arah p1. I listed an ad on LFG for tar help, and some guy joins and basically says “send me gold or I’ll kick” or whatever. He booted me out of my instance.
8 months later it happens to him, and he posts a thread whining about it:
https://forum-es.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/game/Abuso-y-robo-del-sistema-de-grupo/first#post101194(This thread is not in english, my chrome is able to translate it but if your browser cannot then the tl;dr is right below anyways)
I found out about it by getting a private message describing it: http://puu.sh/cs4sb.png
Oh dear.
hahahahahahahhahahahahhahahhahahhahahahahahahhahahahahhahahahahhahahaah

Those players worked hard irl or ingame for that gold to buy their arah armor. Who are you to come in and devalue their accomplishments. kittening elitist.
You need 2 competent people to solo the lava part in CoF p2 when pugging.
- one person runs across
- one person stays by first rock
- make sure everyone WPs, there will be at least 1 person who runs back to the other side of the tunnel then WP (which is bad)
- once everyone is WP, the person at the first rock WP to teleport magg to the second rock.
Many players run out the tunnel to lose aggro to WP, but when everyone does this, Magg will follow you to the WP and it is a pain. This is why you have 1 person wait at the first rock, and WP from that rock (pointless to run magg to the start of the lava).
You can escort magg across, but he may get in combat and die next to 2nd rock which is also a pain.

yuck, cof p1 grinding. I remember I did just p1 6 in a row back in the day, told myself never again.
Magnetic wave has a much smaller area radius than ring of earth. If lupi’s aoe doesn’t fall directly on top of you but still within range while you magnetic wave (happens to me 90% of the time) , you will be forced to dodge. Ring is much more effective because of the bigger radius.
^ Just wait until you get dungeon recipes xD then you’ll never reach that goal lol
Swifty is the person with the crown for highest hobby dungeon number. 800+ and that number was a from a few months ago. Probably 900+ now.
I would agree you’re technically right.
I agree Miku, that ledge is just as bad as the people safespotting on coral for Ancient Ooze. It is pretty silly.
And of course it is an exploit. You are attacking while the dredge cannot attack you back. Textbook exploit as defined by Anet.

Ever since the FGS nerf, ele has been so underpowered.
Why does Anet hate ele so much.
Anet plays nothing but warriors. #100blades #spin2win
I do no damage on Ele on my optimal rotations of 12345 f2 12345 f3 12345 f4 12345. why!?
Enemies kill us with farts.
Healing sig so OP!
Quick google on ele underpowered: Google Search Undeniable proof of Ele’s underpoweredness
What is a blast finisher. Must be noob exploit tactic.#rage post on ele being underpowered
for some reason, i think this should’ve been dub’s challenge lol
MHhhhhhhmhhhh almost there! The link was a great idea but the second post I found was one saying they were NOT underpowered ;( Maybe try something about traits and dodging, maybe vigor and then you can take your beautiful eyes!
Do you even Ele bro. Anyone who traits an Ele outside 00266 is sooo obviously a bad ele. Not even sure why traits are even in question o.O
Again I have to bring up anet nerfing us. Evasive Arcana was perfectly balance to make every single dodge roll a blast finisher, which was working as intended btw. Anet takes that away and what are we left with? Our perma vigor on crit stands alone without any synergy. UNDERPOWERED defined.

After you killed the Ancient Ooze, did you remember to carry the Blood to the Jotun?
If you’re going to pick only one, guardian is by far the most effective class to carry a pug run in any dungeon/fotm.
I don’t understand why you guys are giving him kitten for this request. His LFG description was clear, however the players joining didn’t have the common courtesy to read and comply before they joined. The OP should be able to have complete control over his instance, so he can protect himself from players like this.
I agree OP, and I’ll take it even further. Allow parties to have an official leader who has the sole ability to kick/invite at will. This way you can completely protect your instance and make sure all party members are on the same page before continuing.

Something people forget to mention a lot for ele. Go max melee with lightning whip. Its really safe dps when you are out of dodges, invulns etc. For trash just take the appropriate defensive tools.
This extends past Elementalist.
So many times in Arah P2 at Alphard, I see players staying in the stack corner with Alphard.
This causes her to hit you with projectiles instead of allowing the appropriate projectile reflection/destruction to occur, meaning that the bomb will appear and force the group to roll out of the way and/or revive. It also destroys Wardens and Shields, allowing more projectiles past.
You don’t even have to be at max melee range, just stop standing on her.
/rant
What spoj means is with lightning whip’s 300 range, it is pretty much easy-mode melee on ele. Most eles don’t know this and stay within 130 range which is standard melee range for most others.
I’ve only done this with energy sigil’s. Best investment you can make for a Necro imo. Even though you only mentioned energy food, I’m thinking the “cheapo” part also applies to the sigils xD.
I’ll try to do it w/o them and post up a way if I figure it out.
Please help, after this latest patch, I can’t seem to log in. I have tried the suggested route of whitelisting the programs specified in Johan’s post w/o any success.

You can send mail, but you can’t attach items to them when using a trial account.
Trial accounts are supposed to be able to send and receive mail to players on each other’s friends lists.
I invited a friend over during this trial period and been helping him with items consistently. I can tell for fact that you can send emails with attachments to a trial account.
Looks like you guys do not fully understand this thread. I’ll try to clarify.
Trial Account >>>>>> sending mail >>>>>> Regular Account
When this happens, the trial account CANNOT attach an item to the mail to send to the regular account.
Hopefully that clears things up.
Hi Danikat, thanks for the suggestion. This was already checked and considered when I was trying it. Still the same.
You can send mail, but you can’t attach items to them when using a trial account.
So I created a trial account so I could test to see if it was possible to me to play on EU without too much lag (I’m in NA). For those wondering, it was playable in open world, but the lag was too much for something that required fast reaction like dungeons or pvp. So I’m probably not going to buy a 2nd account to play in EU.
Back to the issue, I invited this trial account to my personal guild so it could access my guild bank to make it easier to transfer things back and forth. After the 3 day limit, I was able to pull items from the guild bank but wasn’t able to put it or any other item back into the guild bank. So as a warning to anyone in this situation, beware not to pull anything valuable out of your guild bank onto your trial account. Chances are you probably won’t be able to retrieve it unless you upgrade by buying the game again.
Luckily I’m only out a few coppers worth of cheapo tonics. Hopefully this helps someone not make a costly mistake.
edit:
tl;dr If you are on a trial account DO NOT pull anything valuable out of the guild bank; you will not be able to put it back in.

Sorry to hear
Yea, I saw that reddit post. I was under the impression that after adding or removing players from the party, the ability to vote kick would come back. If this is indeed reliable, it would be a nice “feature” to have
.
Sweet sweet justice.
I got vote-kicked today. They came in, posed as buyers and stole the instance. I usually have a solid system to protect myself, but we werent’ quick enough in the second vote-kick attempt and I got booted out. Was so mad. Good thing I got their names.
Determined to get my instance back, I went offline. Like clockwork these filthy scum of the earth posted up an lfg of their own. Here is the kicker; they put in their lfg: [DnT] Selling P3 etc. HAH! Went back in, and with the help of some actual DnT friends, took back my instance, and blocked then reported them in-game.
Justice taste so delicious.
update on the 40 fractal. my luck continues and holds on
I always thought you were a nice guy, upvoted your post and everything, but with your recent luck on FoTM I have no choice but to hate you from the bottom of my heart.
Makes the two of us, you know how it is when you get too lucky, bro.
Edit: Lupi doesn’t care I’m close to him, when it’s time to get rekt, it’s time to get rekt.
It was in phase 3, I was inside of his hitbox and the normal projectiles attack still hit me. :C
haha yes, that is because you were on the only part of the ground that is a little higher. those arc on the ground can get you hit by his projectile even if you are close.
To add to this, elevation bolts only hit you while you’re moving, so if you find yourself on elevated terrain, it will be safe if you stand still and move between lupi’s auto.
I post up simple lfg’s for arah frequently “p2” fills within a matter of seconds. Except when I start the party as a necro. Then that would take a few mins at most. I understand that general players are scared to create their own lfg, but don’t give negative feedback when you put zero effort into experiencing the content.
So many comments giving opinions without experience is frustrating to read. I hope anet is able to pick out the baseless comments before considering them as genuine feedback.
Players who solo dungeons are the most deserving of the rewards they reap.
Among bodies upon bodies of dead players who thought they were ready for the terrifying Giganticus Lupicus in their precious groups of 5, the solo player stands defiantly facing his adversary alone! No one to rez him, no one to console him when we fails “don’t worry dood it was just lag,” no one to help clear they way to the Temple Guard, so he can practice painstakingly over and over until he can be kick no more…. until tomorrow.
And when he is finished, finally defeating all of his adversaries legitimately, his mighty roar can be heard from miles away; willing players who are filled to the brim with gold hears his call and showers him in that gold with appreciation! “Thank you hero! Because of you we are able jump past this hurdle that has be plaguing us for so long!”
Our hero has a smile on his face, as do his buyers. What an amazing feeling.
But alas, joyous occasion cannot last. Among the shadows lurk an evil and menacing being. The aura around this being is the very essence of sickness. His heitred and bile is amplified by the incoherent garbage that comes out of his mouth, “gargle gargle y u git so much gold… u no ddeeeeesseeerrrve it… y i no hab legendarrrry… gargle cough spit u no deserve, U NO DESERVE! I AM THE CELESTIAL-KNIGHT”
With a horrifying display of power, this evil Celestial-Knight forcibly plucks our Hero out of the dungeon, destroying all of his work in a series of seconds it takes to click a few mouse buttons. This goes on for centuries.
Our Hero screams in pain, “Why, gods of creation of gw2! Why do you let such bile hold so much power over us! Is there no justice?”
Only silence answers him.
When you laugh, the whole world laughs with you; when you cry, you cry alone.
That red post doesn’t mean anything, just an opinion (even if an ill-informed one). I wouldn’t place much merit in it. Just reply and move on.
It’s incorrect to say there have been no new dungeons since launch. And when you argue from a hyperbole, people are going to focus on that and tear it apart. So let’s stick to facts.
About 2 months after gw2’s launch, fractals of the mists were added. Whether or not you want to call it a dungeon, it fills the roll of challenging instanced 5 man content with unique skin rewards. This was an excellent addition, and made me incredibly excited about the direction endgame pve was headed.
Then the living story began. Over the course of 2013, 3 new dungeon paths were added. 2 were temporary, but they were cannibalized into fractal shards. Most of the dungeon content added during that year still exists.
Towards the end of the year, however, there were a number of decisions that soured the dungeon community. The biggest disappointment arguably was the fractured patch, which did not open up any higher tiers and reset personal level progression. Despite this, hard core groups rushed to the new 50 to compete for spots on the announced fractal leaderboard. This leaderboard still does not exist. The mistlock instabilities, which were touted as the reason for the overhaul, proved to be an annoyance at best and progress preventing at worse when certain instabilities and shards were combined. Few if any instabilities provided interesting, tatics changing challenges.
The second blow was the aetherpath, which promised to be permanent, but also replaced an existing dungeon path. We found out that forward-up would be deleted less then 24 hours before the patch went live, from a tangential remark in a dev post on a minor sub forum. This really soured the reception of the new path, which combined with some other problematic design decisions (I have a post about here) has made it one of the least popular dungeons paths.
Fast forward to 2014, through the conclusion of season one and the first chapter of season 2. So far, we have seen no new dungeon content. In a recent interview from a developer, we also learned that there are no new paths currently in the pipeline.
What we have here is a decline in focus on 5-man content, and seemingly a loss in connection with the desires of the dungeon community. We went from the promissing addition of fractals a mere 2 months into the games launch, to 2 good but temporary new dungeon paths, to 2 controversial reworks of existing content, to a 9 month dry spell with nothing to look forward to.
This post was a lot longer then I originally intended, but I don’t want the legitimate frustrations of dedicated pve players to be lost in exaggeration and hyperbole. Dungeon runners aren’t leaving for no reason, the trend is there and this past year has been a huge disappointment.
I’m quoting this “for GREATER wisdom!!!”
Thank you sir for posting such an on-target reply w/o resorting to undermining the other sides with petty insults.
I am so confused. Is Michael now saying the complete opposite of what Chris said before? And wasn’t what Chris said a complete 180 from what they originally announced? Am I reading things wrong? What is going on?
Dungeon selling is not something that will be officially supported. Listing a group on the LFG tool is opening it up to a public realm and you do so at your own risk.
Customer Service will not be able to support any interactions that involves group formation politics.
Yeah, Chris and I talked about this with others in the studio and we realized the wording just wasn’t sufficient to communicate our actual stance. Chris was referring to the agreements part – where we can’t replace losses. It wasn’t his intention to cloud the issue.
Basically, you steal, cheat, or be a general baddie and I’m coming with my Account-Focused Stun-Lock Cannon.
(Can someone please make me the aforementioned rifle for my engi GM toon? That’d be swell. I’d like purple lightning or fire, please.)
Hello Michael, should we be creating a support ticket for every violator we encounter, or is reporting the violators with the in-game tool “lfg abuse” sufficient to get them on your Stun-Lock Cannon crosshair?
or a good computer for that matter. Mine screams at me when i try to play on mid-settings.
:*(
Thanks for your posts, Michael Henninger. I appreciate you speaking in a way covers a lot of bases and leaves little room for interpretation. This helps a lot when arguing with other players on what is not allowed/not allowed, and what is punishable.
Created a hotw “p1 melee troll” today, when we got to troll I los’ed him under the roof of the gate, then got kicked out of my own dungeon. yay! i guess they really wanted to range him.
Thankfully the second group went fine. Please give me back my ability to own dungeons ty.
did you use tw? or did you save it for alpha?
If you’re ever taking longbow it is only to start and end the fight, rest of the time you’re camping your sword. As for pugging fractals, a lot of the time you have to kite and max melee so you’re better off with GS swap.
probably a stretch to expect an actual change, but at the least we’ll get some acknowledgement on the issue:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/2gduzj/possible_change_to_rangers_frost_spirit_coming/
If they revert the changes, I’m excited on the numbers to see how much more dps a group can crank out with ranger in it.
why? the boring dagger auto in phase 2 with the occasional backstab after swipe is already enough of a life drain… eh ? eh?
you don’t “time” a guardian’s reflect. you put down WoR after phase 1 and pray to rngsus (with my ping anyway)
Don’t worry, anet broke phantasmal haste for wardens… so they’re even more useless
Tell me this was a joke pls ;c
unfortunately not joke
infact, they increased cooldowns for the whirl o.O
So I got the chance to solo p2 a few times on my mesmer. Warden fires his whirl very reliably now. Lupi phase 2 and 3 was indeed trivial. I haven’t seen it fail once yet. However, the reflect stops before warden finishes whirling, so that was a little disorienting.
“His name was Robert Hrouda.”
Ahhh the sweet nectar of bhb tears.
Staff on the guardian is pretty viable, but very hard to play.
This makes the staff one of the hardest weapons to handle.
Although in my eyes, the scepter focus is slightly inferior, you might want to consider sticking to that most of the times and using staff in good training situations.
I can already figure out who you quoted before even clicking the link. That is how consistent that guy is in speaking out of his behind. I feel sorry for new players who listens to him bc he often posts useless/wrong information in almost every. single. thread.
(edited by Tom Yzf.5872)
This is a terrible idea. We already lost our ability to own a dungeon, this would take away even more tools to protect ourselves.
Someone should probably do a full tour to see what else has bugged before the tourney.
Not it.
lol this is true
