Anet devs don’t have the resolve to take hold of their game and commit to creating content that they personally believe will be impactful. That, or someone else is holding their balls with a vice-like grip.
As a result, they depend on metrics to see what content all the locusts of the game are flocking to. It obviously isn’t dungeons which is why we will never get new content our way.
The only way to counter this is for Anet to change their policies (fat chance), or players in general get more interested in dungeons (fat chance w/o any content development). In short, we are in a cycle of poop.
All we can do is constantly give new players the tools to help them have a positive experience in dungeons (pug and give advice, [noob], guide videos, dungeon tourney, etc.) So yes, we should still help.
All other mmo have poop combat system. So if any game devs want to rip off something from gw2, rip-off the combat system pleeeease. Create dungeons and I’ll migrate.

Another change: Warrior’s adrenaline bar is now hidden when you pick up a bundle.
Does this mean when carrying, berserker’s power no longer is in effect?
Mr. Whiteside, sorry to bring it up again, but can you clarify the changes in instance ownership? I believe that there’s a genuine concern for griefing, and I was hoping that you could put our legitimate worries at ease.
Thanks again for replying!
We have been discussing this for a very long time. Can you PM me so i remember to get back to this point when it is appropriate to do so please?
Chris
I could answer this!
It is true two people could be invited and then boot out everyone else to “take over” the instance where as before two people could only kick the instance owner out closing the instance destroying it for everyone. While this isn’t ideal and something we need to look more into, the goal of this change was to reduce the more common case of the instance owner leaving. For now Ryan is looking into adding some logging (see post here) so people can report people abusing this.
As I mentioned in my thread on the topic, it would be great to have the number of needed kick votes increased to 3, to minimize griefing resulting from this change. Personally I always started my own dungeon parties to avoid kick-happy couples. Now there’s nothing to kep me safe. 2 votes have always been a bad idea, anyway. Not even a majority.
I actually agree with you. I would have liked to increase the vote count a majority with this change, but unfortunately not all the pieces of code around party votes are set up in a way to make this a quick and easy change.
We were aware of the possible issues with the instance ownership change, but felt that holding back an improvement to the base experience on account of trolls was unfair to users that are playing nice.
Stealing instances using the LFG tool, or booting people for no reason (or to give your buddy the rewards for no work) at the end of a run are bannable offenses and should be reported.
Hello Ryan,
thanks for this information.Any tips on how to get name of those trolls that kick you from your own instance quickly?
There usually isn’t time to write anything down or to make any screenshots. Thanks in advance!
There appears to be some nice debug messages for party join/leave that I’m going to see if I can turn into “LFG Messages” in the chat log which should make this easier…
Ty for this quote.
Looks like someone isn’t on top of doing their job.
…
Customer Service will not be able to support any interactions that involves group formation politics.
What was even the point of the change to the chatbox that allowed us the ability to see who leaves and enters the group then?
This is an extremely disturbing red-post. You are pretty much saying that players who will abuse the vote kick feature to steal instances, or “group formation politics” as you call it, will get a free pass w/o any repercussions. We already knew you were not taking action to protect instance owners, but to see it in solidified with your post is beyond sickening. This applies to any situation, whether the instance owner is selling or not.
If this was a some sort of misinterpretation of your quote, you need to be a lot more responsible in the clarity of your words when discussing these matters.
Since p2 is bugged, I haven’t bother solo’ing on mes. I’m wondering if warden is truly fixed now. Should make phase2 and 3 pretty much pain free.
well, makes it a little bit less of a headache to solo at the least.
:( all this changes are very discouraging
Killed all trash leading up to Belka, cutscene still did not trigger.
to bad lupi is so minion-unfriendly, i’d like to see a condi mesmer lupi
^You are correct. I solo this dungeon everyday, and knew how to mitigate the bug. However, after today’s patch Belka’s cutscene will not trigger no matter what you do.
Taking bets on how long it will take anet to fix a dungeon bug. What do you guys think? Will they even bother?
flame legion……
So I had time to watch all of the class balance changes that was broadcasted by GW2.
Thought this was worth a second take. Starts at 20:14: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c86ECLpcamo&feature=youtu.be&t=20m14s
I’ll transcribe it for you:
Illusionary Warden: We fixed a bug with this phantasm that caused it to fail its attack occasionally when he was attached to a melee enemy.
This is completely wrong. The reason for Warden failing has nothing to do with a melee enemy. (example: Alphard, or any freaken structure for that matter). How disappointing. I’ll call it now, warden will not be fixed, so any mesmers out there, don’t get your hopes up.
I solo pug all dungeons daily. Players generally know what do to and are competent in playing their class. Just don’t expect speedruns (even if their lfg states “speedruns”)
you need to stack harder
^it happens often lol. I remember way back when i got kicked for having scholar runes and not ruby orbs.
o.O
nice lag on p3 :p
Every time I try to solo I end up rage quitting after getting royally owned by the locust during p1. Is there a special trick to walling lupi before he summons the swarm?
I never reset when i get too many swarms, although it would probably be a lot faster if i did
.
The Locus pause a little before they bite, so you can easily side step the damage. If the swarms get spawned before you’re able to wall lupi, be sure to stick on lupi like white on rice and get him to that wall while simultaneously kiting the swarms in a figure 8 pattern. Only when you get lupi to the wall should you disengage to take care of the swarms.
More often than not, if you disengage lupi to clear swarm w/o walling lupi, it will be a painful cycle of him constantly spawning swarms until you get you say f- it and restart the dungeon.

Posting in a well thought out and informative thread.
…
I don’t have stability or projectile destruction. Now I get hurt.
OP was wrong, projectile destruction doesn’t work on any of the Troll’s attack. So you are on par with any other class when it comes to that.
As for stability, 1. you don’t need it, just bring a stunbreaker and 2. You have multiple sources of stability, one of which is traited DS (3s stability on a 7s cd, which is pretty dam good)
edit: inb4 frifox (untraited wardens don’t count :p)

^nice dye job on that second pic
The [Club] record run for SE p3 during the clown car looked it it was a good use of mesmer gs. He used it to push the dredge further underneath the ledge after pulling them to it with focus.

o.O
y u lie Miku? you know your favorite dungeon is AC
lol, i’m actually surprised you didn’t put ac as your least favorite.
We need to start operation convert devs to scumbag dungeon meta builds quickly.
You imagine if they got a meta team together for the tourney? That would be pretty epic.
hah! I would pay irl gold to see this. Would be truly epic to see an Anet team competing
^I like your way of thinking.
It is a feature gaiz! See? Dungeons are actually still getting developement action!
- What happens if you solo and experience a short DC? What happens if your entire party sees a short DC?
Don’t quote me on this, but I think that going to stay the same. I’m not sure why the new change would affect it.
Well… “If everyone leaves an instance, it will close, but you don’t have to worry about one person leaving your party and having to restart your dungeon!”

RIP soloing with Time Warner Cable.
No more ragequitting when you die :>

CANNOT wait to join lfg seeking tar help to kick them out and practice my lupi. BY BODY IS READY!!

Even true fans-becoming-anet-emplyees Kate Welch and Martin Kerstein leaving… It seems worse than ever. I think it’s time to leave this sinking ship as well, though only as a player.
Martin Kerstein was the Community Team Lead – in charge of communication between anet and players.
Kate Welch was in charge of UI – Wardrobe UI that combined the equipment tabs with the Wardrobe and Dye Tab o.O and asked you each time of you are sure you want to use up “0” transmutation charges for applying dyes.
While I wish those 2 the best, I hope we get new and better equipped people to fill the roles they left behind.
Do whatever hell you want in your own instance when in arah. No one is going to ban you for jumping puzzles. It is when you start selling paths that were exploited you risk being reported and consequently (and justifiably) perma-banned.
People who exploit by doing unintended jumping puzzles/teleporting outside maps, then sell those paths know perfectly well they are violating the ToS. It all comes down to better gold/time for them, so they don’t care a rat’s behind about “oooOohHh expllooooration.”
I’m all for perma-banning them. Bring down the wrath of the ban-hammer on these heathens who dare sully the sanctity of our Dungeon Solo’ing trade! Smite them to the underworld!!!
k will do, ty
- The Warden will continue reflecting projectiles for about 1 or 2 seconds after the whirl animation is done.
I think this may be fixed. During Alphard I was using untraited wardens in the middle and timed 2 wardens perfectly. However I noticed I am now taking damage within that 1 second after warden stops whirling. Consequently I had to use 3 wardens (even with phantasmal haste).
I also noticed this when take damage from lupi’s aoe immediately after a traited warden stopped whirling.
Could you re-test?
lol alright dood, when i sign up i’ll use that info
What servers are you guys on for PSO2?
Trolls tend to ignore logic.
or rather, they are immune to it. bounces off of them like some sort of super armor
if i had a penny for every facepalm…
A while ago when dungeon selling wasn’t so wide spread, and only a select few were doing it, many of the sellers at the time exploited the hell out of arah p3. Selling it for over 10g each slot for less then 15m worth of “work” tops. I’m willing to bet you know many of these exploiters, even if you didn’t know they exploited.
This continued until a certain someone got banned for being caught by anet selling an exploited path, and another for just his association with said exploiter #neverforget.
The point this post? Just admiring the irony of it all when i see certain ppl post about kicking others out of their instance for exploiting a path for sale or even just mentioning their distaste for it all. Carry on
@DeathPanel, you can only speak for yourself. Now that you’ve done that, feel free to gtfo of the dungeon forums if you have no interest in it.
As for the PR recently, I agree with Spoj. Nothing more than a stunt to quell the flames. Even so, I’m appreciative of those who are putting in the effort to list suggestions to dungeon problems and QoL.
I do dungeons because they are fun and provide some challenge (diminishes each time you repeat it though). Before today, I’d think that I was increasing my skill and reaction time to make myself better equipped to face new challenges that would be present in new dungeons….. well, I’ll let you catch up with the other threads to see how that will turn out.
[noob] is probably doing the best job at contributing to the demographic of dungeon runners. the more people do/pay attention to dungeons, the more devs will pay attention to it.
on the same note, [DnT] hosting these dungeon competitions also will help. Every sucessful event we have will force dungeon into the spotlight. This will be a great topic for commentators to discuss during commentating downtime for the tourney.
This part of the community just needs to be more vocal and more importantly grow.
How much does lupi heal for during life drain/drink? is it the same amount as the damage, and does he heal even through Defiant Stance?
thanks! ^^ that was the look i’m going for. But with the recent news, i guess the phrase “goodnight sweet prince” may be more appropriate :*(
IMO all classes have at least 1 elite that has its uses, even if only situationally, and that in itself makes it a good skill.
@retro Thanks for transcribing that. I took from that what the OP did, that dungeons are going to remain what they are for a very long time.
ta atherblade was a lot of effort bc they went all ‘tryhard’ with puzzles. keep it simple and focus on boss encounters. that’s all ppl care about.
Such an awesome combat system gone to waste with casual content.
anet said something about necro need more survivability 0.o I think the best necro will get is that cleave on dagger :*(
FGS can still be used for mobility, GoE is still useful even if only used situationally.
Not quite a fashion shot, but a nice chopped screenie of our favorite ‘temple guardian’ in arah. Wanted to share and didn’t know where else to put it :p
@xallever, sorry I don’t think that the FGS convo was about your record run. It is just off-topic banter in response to the inevitable change to fgs (sorry for hijacking the thread).
That’s why the skill itself isn’t the problem, but the dungeon encounters…
I can agree with this statement. But at the same time I have a hard time not thinking of how anet would deal with the problem realistically. Chances are slim to none that they will adjust all dungeon encounters to match high level FotM. So all that is left is to balance fgs itself.
