why even have rule sets for records if you’re going to bug out a boss anyway? If exploits like that are allowed, might as well just have the same timing rule, get rid of any other rule, and slap an unrestricted label on it.
Can’t wait for a fresh wave of ‘tanks’ and condition ‘pros’ to hit the pug dungeon scene!
Bad enough with the random knockbacks/fear/etc in pugs. Now pug adventures will be even more exciting. inb4 threads complaining about bosses being aggroed out of icestorm.
there are creative ways to prevent them from insta-gib lupi even if they do try the wall on wall.
:)
:D
Amazing water quality.
whoa, nice resolution
Sometimes when you don’t dodge the grub attack and get the grub debuff, the grub will just flat out not spawn, regardless if you dodge again or not.
I’ve been told there is a way to predict when this happens, but in my experience it has been rng.
My bet on what was happening in your case: random non-spawning grub.

Just don’t expect anything.
I expect it to feel like… a year’s worth of living story updates.
how horrifying
you want to skip a little past half way i think. for a lot of the video they don’t even move the character around.
PoI HoT Gameplay preview. They talk about challenging repeatable content. Then showcases themselves running around pressing 1 to “burn as many vines as you can”.
lol
:*(
yea some people went off the deep end. it got pretty embarrassing.
I normally join and create “all welcome” groups, and on occasion i join “zerk”/“meta” groups. If you read and comply with specific LFG descriptions, most cases all goes well.
If people want certain builds in their party, it is their prerogative and their right. If player join those types of parties in full compliance of the LFG requirements there would be no problems. It jsut takes a little longer to fill/weed out.
With all that said, there is no doubt that “zerk/meta” lfg requirements goes faster and smoother and generally w/o drama. To say otherwise tells me you dont pug much.
(edited by Tom Yzf.5872)
In my experience pugging, “zerk only” groups are generally more faster and smoother than “all welcome” groups. There is a valid reason why those lfg descriptions exists; even more so when they require players to ping, or more specifically when they ask for “meta”. “Heavy only” “no rangers/necro” are the groups you want to avoid.
Many people don’t bother with the event for CoF, the old tricks to getting past the gate still works. For a while I though there was a trick for CoE too, but it wasn’t widely known.
Just imagine, they were going to shut down this sub and they were planning for us to start posting threads in General….. shudder
wow that p3 rng, nice work.
I plan to finish Uni w/o any debt whatsoever, and other than scholarships/aid I’m handling the tuition all on my own. So every purchase is a major decision.
Because of dungeons in GW2, this game has been a great return on what was spent on it. If the expansions dont’ have dungeons, it will not be worth as much. It is as simple as that.
If there are dungeons/fractals then yes. If not, then it would be a hard choice. I’d probably get a lot of buyer’s remorse if I went forward with the expansion w/o any dungeon content. Mayyybe … at that point it would depend on price. $25 max probably.
haha this is awesome: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FVwNE250M8
a mystical voice with such dynamic range xD
After wrapping up their segment about guild halls, Colin reiterated his talking points (region, progression, specialization, profession, wvw, pvp/guildteams, finally guild halls). No mention whatsoever about “group play”. Even if they mentioned “group play” as part of the features, it is in my mind no doubt that it points to open world bosses.
We’re not getting any more dungeons. Also, don’t forget, they were going to scrap this subforum. Did you think they were going to magically reopen it after the expansion released with our mythical new dungeons? yeaaaaaa…. We have no future in GW2, probably best to just enjoy what we have.
Hoping for raids? I’m guessing maaybe you’ll get instanced content versions of the openworld bosses. Have fun with that.
only 1 “f”
I encourage multiple guides. Different people do thing different ways sometimes, so the more perspective on something the better. Also, websites come and go all time. IRL kitten might happen that may cause some players to stop or care about keeping guides/websites up-to-date. Multiple (maintained) guides will help counter that.
Power to you OP, nice work.
I pug with all classes, I frequently switch around traits and weapons for different encounters, let alone for different dungeons. Game design and build variety are more than fine within this game, and I echo the opinion that the only thing we need is new dungeons to “shake things up”.
If players want to change things up and put on their condi/tanky/healy gear, they are free to do so and will still be able to complete the content. There are litterally ZERO barriers preventing them to do so. This is true variability in viability.
However what the OP suggests is for the content to lock players in a certain playstyle to complete the content. It is a terrible suggestion.

the teeth attack only gets dangerous when the attack overlap and you repeatedly get hit by 2 of them at once.
lore in dungeons are pretty much irrelevant at this point. if you’re craving some solo instances but don’t have the ability/dedication to figure out the current dungeons, you’re in luck. Anet caters to your needs with every update: living story.
if Anet decides that they want to get back to developing dungeons (HAHAAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA), it is my opinion that they should always be designed with a team setting. Difficulty and all. Multiplayer-puzzles aside, if you have the dedication, you will overcome that difficulty and have a better feeling of accomplishment in the solo when you do complete it.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is how you play the elementalist!
Today is a beautiful day
but but, flame wall
;)
Awesome work sesshi! That was a fun watch.
I haven’t noticed any change. on/off wall or pug/solo before and after patch seems to be the same for me.
I suggest this tip: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/Forum-s-search-feature-doesn-t-work-A-tip
It is a much better alternative than the current broken system.
I remember that discussion and agree with spoj. Timer starting when you move was one of the best changes to the rule set. Before that change, I remember some people ignorantly defending the timer starting from the event activation, then got schooled when some guilds completed arah p2 in like 3 nanoseconds lol proving it was a flawed system.
Not having the timer start the same way in unrestriced makes no sense.
With the transfer of gwscr, maybe it is time to revisit a lot of these rules.
one of my favorite skills in the game: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Earthbind
My vote is that this sigil should be allowed
What is this? the 3 strike rule? I find it incredibly funny that your buddy got caught not once, but twice for exploiting…. and he still gets to play.
Is anet so desperate to keep players that they are willing to be this lenient?
haha, nice
I don’t think so. I can think of a perfect counterexample for it here that would make your suggestion completely unjust:
Say I want to pug Arah path 1.
I enter the instance by myself and post a listing on the LFG that says the following:
“P1 – no 1-shotting Lupicus allowed or kick”
I end up getting 4 strangers within the span of a minute or two. One of them is a guardian, I am on a warrior, one of them is an elementalist, one of them is a thief, and the other is another warrior.
Everything’s going fine, nothing particularly out of the ordinary really… until we get to Lupicus. It’s easier to fight him on the wall in general but just as a precaution to avoid what I hate and didn’t want to happen in my group, I warn the guard before going in “do not 1-shot him, ok?” and he doesn’t respond. So because of the lack of response I say “k let’s do it off wall.”
The other ele then types something like “sec changing traits then” and everyone else seems fine except the guardian still doesn’t respond. So when we run in and attack, I can’t prevent him from being pushed to the wall as he’s aggroed on somebody else. Lupicus manages to get to the wall. Right on the phase transition I intentionally run to the middle of the room, hoping that Lupicus would decide to shadowstep to me but unfortunately he opens with his AoE barrage attack. The guardian, like the little prick that he is, places his WoR on top of the wall and instantly kills him.
He ignored my LFG and several comments/requests to make sure that it wouldn’t happen. I promptly try to kick him, but no one else agrees. Because your suggestion was implemented recently, I am now unable to kick for the next 24 hours and my path was pretty much hijacked.
Sound fair to you?
Have you ever gotten that warr traited shield on top of the lupi wall to work? I remember you trying it some time ago but not sure if it was successful.
That sounds like a nice concept. I wonder if anet can pull some of that off. Instead of a universal active-defense trigger like dodge. Each class has something unique that helps them sustain. Much like the mentioned thief=evade, warrior=dash, etc.
i have video of mister H in action about a year back!
lel
Not only that, mister H BUYS GOLD FROM GOLD SELLERS. Yet still he manages to evade the permaban hammer. kitten is so beyond comprehension it is so motherkittening kittened up.
I hear your mom…
… makes very delicious food
xD
Enjoy your infraction.
Even then, I’m sure the GM will investigate this thoroughly and will serve justice…… oh wait.
Well, next time create you’re own party so this doesn’t happen aga…. oh wait.
Ok, you’ll get more people on your side if you can post up the full party conversation before you got kicked on your….. oh wait.
well… enjoy your infraction. Also it was probably your fault you got kicked since you have no other evidence (/s).
So you just assume he got kicked since he didn’t post any /s pictures? Not the best line of reasoning. Also, please re-read your comment and consider whether it adds any value, I think you know the answer.
hmmm
i can understand where your confusion is coming from. In this case “/s” isn’t “say chat”
/s = notating sarcasm.
the rest of my post is an attempt at venting my frustration on the current system’s lack of tools to help players not get kicked like this.
wow in that case I completely misunderstood you >.< my bad..
np internet friend, water under the bridge.
The censored words were from my social guild chat and are totally unrelated. But if it humors you…
I’m surprised at how you would think of me to kick someone at last boss. Not to disappoint you but I don’t have that thought nor reputation.
I have no interest in your guild chat. I was referring to your forum post “N*****”. It doesn’t matter anyway, as I was just making a JOKE to release a little tension I sensed in the reply.
As for me thinking you would kick someone at the last boss. I didn’t say that. Read more carefully; I said he probably bailed before you could possibly kick him. It was an inference based on the information given on a reason as to why he might have just left instead of discussing alternate end boss strategies with you guys.
Jesus, I must be coming off as an kitten today. This is the second time I’ve had to clarify my posts.
Enjoy your infraction.

His reason wasn’t “I don’t use exploit”. It was “I don’t use ranged”. So I wonder what his proper method is. And it’s not like we’re N*** and not listening to him. And it’s also not likely he didn’t agree with exploit when we bugged the powder keg earlier and he said nothing. Double standard, much?
What I took from the conversation was: “why you gotta not do it properly” and he threw in that “range” part just as an insult, then left before you could contemplate a kick. But I could see how it could go either way.
Also, your self-censored word makes me think of this:
Sometimes, I got hit by pugs this elitist.
My bro, I and two other ele pugs were 4-man CM p2. I noticed that while they do have DPS, the ele had no where enough experience to melee Turmaine (bad rotation, bad might stacking, abuse FGS, scepter/dagger camping). We made it to Turmaine. Feeling bad for the ele, I was like oh, well, let’s do it the easy way. And the conversation happened.
In the end, the rest of us three-man Turmaine. It seems that he was no longer bugged so we ended up with me kiting the Plague form while the group is trying to burst him when he’s vulnerable. I feel bad, I shouldn’t have said anything at all. I’ve hurt someone’s properness.
You wanted to exploit the final boss, and he didn’t so he left. I see no problem with that.
I love how reddit is giving you mesmer greatsword advice. xD
Hah, nice. I need to up my game. If I needed to reach for f4 that quickly with my clumsy fingers, I might as well smash my face to the keyboard as it would get the same results.
I bound my f4 to one of my mouse buttons but still manage to click the wrong button from time to time xD
Nice work sandy. I especially liked the lag at 1:40 and the epic finish lol
What do you have your f4 bound to? That’s some good distortion reaction time.
I can’t be the only one who’s more interested in watching Nike and Zelyhn argue than the thread topic.
…
Definitely agree. Hearing those 2 debate is a really good read.
You guys should tone down on the half hearted insults. This is a really good conversation you guys are having.
Maintenence oils should provide about at least 3% crit chance in AC. Thats gotta be better than nothing right?
