Using Death Shroud Properly?

Well, The use of DS changes from player to player. Some use it for damage, other use it as support/Sorb. Well to be honset i play a power necro, and im tired of people trashing it. Yeah a thief has burst. yea a warrior has burst. So does a power necro, But our burst not only just does dmg. If running for ex my build. I Get rid of boons on well use. And its not 1 boon every 1 pulse. is multiple. Im not much of WvW player myself, More of a Tpvper. People haveto understand that thiefs can get Shutdown in said “burst”, and warriors can be shutdown with the miss of Frenzy Hundred blades. Lets just make that clear, For my burst. IM never going to use it until i have secure Full 7 second burst. Since im not a warrior, i dont have to rush in and guess a chance if they have a stun break/etc. I just immobilize, Which can only be removed by removing conditions from said class.

Now back to OP, Death Shroud should be used for such said examples. We will start by skills #1-#4 in that order

1- Mainly used for dmg. Very good in 1v1 with low health against another low health player. Also can be used in teamfights, Preferably used against multiple targets, if traited right to pierce. And stacking vulnerabilty and Might. (if traited in such ways)

2- Great utility skill. Fighting someone but hes bursting you to fast, Simple Gap close to chill roll away continue what you were doing. Another example for Power builds is, They roll away and snare you, Gap close to kill. Another Good example of this spell, is in a outnumbered fight. Simply fear off the farthest target, make sure you have a clear shot, Gap close on Feared target, And roll away. Though you might not live. You sure do buy time.

3- This is where the true skill shows. This isnt wow, you cant just fear spam. You have a 20 sec cooldown fear. Use it right. For examples stopping burst, kicking heals, and simply to just push some one off point. KEY TO THIS MOVE (for spvp, and Tpvp) Your fear makes people run directly away from you. So on elevated points just Position yourself correctly and fear of node/point/Cliff.

4- As for life transfer, Well there’s a whole bunch. Life transfer if traited right, is great for teamfights. In addition it is great in team fights versing mesmers and thieves and just big numbers of enemies. For 1v1 cases, its a good move to take damage till cds are up. As well as fighting mesmers and Engineers. Mesmers use there clones, Simply life transfer and Spam #1 away to destroy clones/illusions ( For most mesmer builds this is probably there number outsource of damage. Engineers, when they drop there supply crate Just Ds to life transfer to spamming #1, turrents gone. In other words, just an all out great skill that we necros were given.

AS for DS itself. Yes we do start with none… If you do not know what your doing you will lose your first fight because you havent gained any life force. THAT is your fault. NOT THE NECRO OR THE BUILD. If you do not know what skills build life force than you shouldnt be complaining about starting with none. "but but… i get owned by burst* Did you know theres a skill that grants protection and 3% LF each time when hit. L2P is all i have to say to that Quote. This Implement of DS is also a great way to wait for Cds to come back up as said in thread earlier.

Under Water DS- Pretty op. Aoe fear, Poison, and a transfer ally conditions on to self. If thats not Good then i dont know what is.

As for comment above me. Power builds wont get buffed. People just dont know how to utilize it properly yet. Just wait people will master the class 1 by 1, and then the complaints will go down 1 by 1.

yea i do agree that Axe auto damage is low. But i think people are seeing it wrong. If you spend points in spite you get x% condition duration. So the main point of axe is to stack vulnerabilty, reap life force, and aoe retalition. Main point im gettign at is the axe is a good weapon switch, Stack vulnerability and the nswitch to a weapon that does better dmg.

My Vampiromancer feels viable in sPvP. Let me know what you think.

Ranged giving you problems? Keep note of there dodges, Chill with focus, Chill with staff, or DS to skill #2 its a gap closer, Best way to land Ds #2 it to fear first then hit the gap coser.

I believe its because you are in lvl 16 gear. Plus fighting a gold mob with probably ( never done WvW before) alot of toughness, hence why your damage is weak. Yes the phantasmal warlock, has more dmg per condition, but thats all it has. It isnt always auto attacking/ lots of spells. Though that damage is a bit high. You should be fine doing Feast of corruption when in lvl 80 gear.

Why thank you. Took a bit of time to write it up. My only reason to write this up, because people only believe condition is Tourney viable.. Honestly a support ele brings more to the table than a conditionmancer, besides ( if traited right) Rezzing, stopping stomps, and whe nthey try to rez.

Honestly, Once you get the hang of a power necro, which is hard i do admit. You can see why Necros can be feared in fights. for example. Last night i was doign tourneys. Team sent me to thier point (windmill). I single handily killed a support ele, to a mesmer ( note 1v1s). Then survived long enough in a 2v1 with those same classes til my teamate guard came by for support and we won. After that they never came windmil again.. lol

How are our Elites viewed?

To clarify something. Warbanner is awesome elite to have in spvp and Tpvp. Just because when its droppped ( and this should be the only time when its dropped) is to revive multiple downed teammates witha 2 sec cast.

Regarding runes, i Prefer divinity, but to each his own.

Regarding sigils, Thank you now i have cleared up and changed my weapon sigils.

In Regards to Power gap. I honestly dont feel the need to over explain this so i will keep it simple. Thief’s Hp >20k health. Glass cannon warrior (Power/crit) >22k health. that’s roughly around what health they carry. Now When my burst is down IM not useless. I have many other skills to keep damage up and survivability. To what means can other classes do better? Its not all about numbers its about playstyle. Any thief i usually come across Very few that bring new spels that i have to adapt to, One catch dead. Now theres no power gap there. Any Warrior i come acrosss, Yes he may hurt Alot. But there are easily shutdown. I’m Sorry for the Tourney posts. But honestly Some guy was harassing my Tourney play. Saying i only win the first match. So thus i posted 3 pictures of tourney matches in the last round. Not saying that those teams were good. (we knocked out the good teams in the 1st two maps). Plus 2/3 of those games were guild vs guild.

Hehe I know but its pretty cool to flesh golem charge on a wall. if u can line it up on a player.

Access to quickness/power ratios. Thats not to big of a deal for me. Most Melee clases have haste. Warriors take 50% more dmg. And theives lose all endurace.. If i had haste that did that. I wouldnt rock that. Yea power ratios are bad on necros. But come to understanding that Well damage is Power, Auto attacks are power. And all other spells cast are weak power ratios. SO my main source of so called "Burst’ (Ie. 100 blades, Haste pistol whip spam, my combo is burst). Is from wells and not the pitty spells i use to stack weakness and blind.

Slows down your auto attack speed whether it casts spinal shivers or its on cooldown when your target hits 25% health and until its dead.

Im sorry about that i decided mid write (while drinking :P) to change Vs melee combo- to just flat out combo. Other words Verse Melee combo Deathly swarm is a must. Other wise verse non melee’s its used to transfer bleeds/immobilize and other such conditions.
Hope that clarifys any “brainfarts”

Edit: And during Combo I never switch out to axe because the dps i get out of axe is < Dagger Auto attacks.. Mainly when i verse good players the axe comes out

Team Fights

During Teamfights… Yes i know where not as supporty as a conditionmancer. But why do i care if im not. Pick a focus Catch and kill. You are single handily one of the best revivers/Rez stoppers. If your traits are lined up right. Rezzing people are no problem. Stopping rez is easy. You have DS Fear and Minion charge. That gives you enough time for a stomp. Pretty much sums it up for teamfights.

Holding Nodes
1v1 tactics. If said be 1v1

2v1
All you need to do is HOLD OUT. Your team mates are coming!!!! Depending on who your versing . What you need to be focused on is staying alive. Any melee class you see, Your dodges, Your Darkpact, your Spinal Shiver, Should be focused on the Melee Class. DS Life transfer to stay alive fear people away. Immobilize enemy away from you. Hard fights. Honestly, to be able to hold longer, watch how many conditions you have.. If you have a lot then heal.
3v1
Good luck…

Combos

Vs combo: Deathly swarm, Enfeebling blood, Dark Pact, Well of Suffering( because it ticks 7 times), Well of Corruption, 1 Full auto attack combo, Flesh golem Charge, full auto Combo, DS fear.

Vs Guardian combo: Same as Melee combo but save Well of Corruption for Save your Selves. (Not always but most of the time)

This guide is for Tourney play.

Dagger dmg numbers: AVG
Heavy: Non-crit : (330-357)x2,540-570, 989-1010
crit avg: (825- 857)x2,1000- 1200, 1980-2160
Medium: Non crit: (460-585)x2,730-860,1k-1.4k
Crit:(900-1080)x2,1400-1650, 2.8-3k
leaving light golem out numbers were off
Well of S dmg 590-617, 1.2-1.4k crit x7
Well of C 286, 596 crit x6
Enffeble 400-500 824-1k crit
dealthy swarm 450-500, 1,023 crit
dark pact 604, 1200-1400crit
Flesh golem charge- 1.2k-1.7k +121
Rendering claw-250-304, 576-666 crit
Ghastly claws. Avg hit 229, 478 crit x8 multiplier
Unholy feast 640-690, 1.5k crit
Reapers touch (close up bounce): avg 350-400, crit 800-1k x3
Spinal shivers: 350-400,771-900 crit

Lets do some math shall we.

Now im going to add up the damage output with one combo WITHOUT one crit.
ON heavy only. All numbers that do not have a Heavy/medium infront are all applied to a Heavy Target Golem.

Adding lowest numbers possible with no crit.
Dps Output: Lowest Dps numbers in full combo : 12764 Damage output.

Now Adding Highest Numbers possible with no crit.
Dps Output: Hights Dps numbers in full combo: Roughly 14,049.

Now lets say 35% of those numbers are crit. Total of 23 Dmg output spells.
So being 23×.38= 9.5 so we will round up saying that 9-10 hits will be crit.
So lets say that 10 hits will crit out of 23
I will randomly pick ones that i see crit often.
Last hit of Dagger auto attack.
So i will say 3 out of 7 hits of Well of Corruption hit.
2 out of 6 of Well of Suffering.
and Necrotic Slash and Stab.
Dark Pact.

So being said
RNG Crit Damage output with lowest number calculations(non-crit): 18130

Thats the Low Average of all Crit/Non-crit attacks. Imagine now being mixed with normal RNG play.

Engineer
I will only be going over Tank and subject title of any other build.

Tank Engineer: Your worst nightmare. You simply cannot kill this guy. (atleast a good one). One main tactic I use is to all out burst and cc him as much as possible in the beginning. Stay on this guy as much as possible. The only time you need to roll is when the big bomb is out. Other wise its just a long battle of whoever can just finish off who. Not much advice to give. use your combos correctly and who ever the bettter player is will come out on top.

Any other Engineer: Just catch him. Gee Gee. A good rifle engi will be able to slaughter you. Good rolls, a blind and CC’s to a catch( Dark pact hit). Once you catch again gee gee. Roll big bombs.

Engineer Overlook: Always prepare to fight a Engineer twice. Elixir R is a not cool skil. it revives them once they are down. When they drop the supply crate, drop your wells on top of them then use Life transfer.

Elementalist

Damage: DS the burst, every time. Overlook will give more detail. Good eles will give you a hard time. Dodge the ride the lighting because updraft usually comes after. Thing you want to look for on CD is Water/Air. When they are fire spec, Burst. (When other attunements are on cd)

Support: Long haul fight. Watch attunements when water goes on cooldown. BURST. Otherwise be prepared for backup inc.

Elementalist Overlook: Key thing here in these fights is to Watch the attunements. When they switch attunements the previous attunement goes on a 9 sec CD. Enough time to land a burst. Keep eye on this. it is key to beating an elementalist. The flying rocks around them give them Protection, and stability. Mist form will troll your burst. But note, it is on 60 sec cd.

Mesmer-

Mesmer: I hate mesmers.. Lol JK. its easy to troll them. Unless they moa you…. But Spectral armor blocks moa!!!!! Anyways to continue. Moa will kill you verse a good mesmer. I dont know about the names of mesmer attacks and i am too lazy (ATM) to look them up. But really the power of mesmers come from there clones. So when u see 2- 3 clones out DS to life transfer. Clones gone. Then pop your VS Melee combo once clones are dead and chaos storm is dead. Mesmers like to stack confusion so heal when u have 6 stacks or so. Watch out for Blurred Frenzy. you want to pop your combo once this is down. Otherwise its whoever the better player is.

Mesmer Overlook: Key to win this fight. Is to get rid of clones.

Thief:
I will only be going over Pistol Whip and Condition spec for thieves.

Pistol Whip: Now here’s where things get complex. Usual Pistol Whip thieves i go against always have the jump on me. Not to worry, Watch the Daze, Watch the Haste. When a thief pops haste means he has no more rolls. Its a good thing. Now to get into to fighting a pistol whip thief. For you to beat a competent thief you need to be on your toes. He gets the jump Take 1-2 Pistol whips during his initial burst than pop DS. Most thieves will jump in with steal while stealth and fear you during combo while immobile. DS DS DS. Cannot stress that enough. If you are feared wait about 2 seconds if you can fear. If he’s draining you horribly Pop the fear. If he evades.. Pop out and roll away. Now 2 instances can happen here. He can be dumb and just start charging towards you, or he can stealth again. If he starts charging towards you VS Melee combo him. If he stealths during burst He should still be in the same spot. So just be auto attacking on top of him. If he goes stealth, weapon swap, Unholy feast, and get ready to be jumped again. I Will usually drop well of Suffering on top of me so he doesn’t just come barging in. If possible when he pops out use your kite with Spinal shiver. If you cant (by this time you should have at least some DS) pop your DS, fear should be off CD and depending on health Either gap close or life transfer* Watch the weapon switch*. When a thief using PW they usually runs short bow as his WS (Weapon Swap). Once he does that depending on which weapons you have out it should be an easy fight. If your axes are out ghastly claws and what ever 3-4-5 skill is off cd, Weapon swap to life siphon. To again Vs Combo. With thieves once you catch them they are dead. Key Hints on Vs a Pistol Whip Thief. Daze is annoying. learn to play with it happening.

Condition thief: (The Death Blossom) Easy fight. Take all the advice given from PW thieves now apply to this. Except let him bleed you just heal and get your health back with no more bleeds. You need to know that death blossom evades attacks. Catch him when hes out of initiative. VS Melee combo, dead.

Other thief builds: apply PW advice catch and kill. Good hunting.

Thief Overlook: Main thing I need to discuss here. IS thieves guild and haste. During an event a thief pops thieves guild. DO NOT PANIC. Try to catch the thief with well combo then immediately pop DS to life transfer. Thieves guild gone. Try your best to catch the thieves from thieves guild in wells, Makes it a tad easier. Now for Haste. Watch the thief for when he pops haste. This is his key to bursting you down before you get a chance to move. A good timed fear can handle it. Remember Haste only lasts 4 seconds.

Warrior:

Frenzy 100 Blades: Its either you get caught or not to start off. I will start of what to do when you do get caught. IF caught, immediately DS fear, roll away from the spin and use Vs combo (See below). IF warrior brings certain trait the gives stability on a Fear/cc absorb as much damage you can with DS. Roll from spin use Vs Melee combo.

Hammer Warrior: Your worst enemy. CC will destroy your ability to stay equal in the fight. Thank Devs. for DS. Hammer warriors will tend to use such combos as Back Breaker to Staggering Blow to Earth Shaker. In This tendency only save your rolls for the Burst and CC. Deathly swarm is your best friend for it will blind, and transfer vulnerability to them. Once you can grab a hold of your VS combo Easy game. If he happens to take frenzy then fear immediately for there will be no hope left in humanity towards your ability to move. IF said trait is brought ( Balance stance trait grants stability for 8 seconds if CC/feared Sorb as best as you can.

Condition War: … You should win this

Warrior Overlook: For any how this said warrior is a Very good player. They will either pop Endure Pain during frenzy, or will shield block your VS Melee combo. There is multiple ways to get out of our VSCombo. If this instance happens and said Warrior is in fact one that knows how to play against a Power Necro. This is what should be going on in your mind. Is his trait stability down? Is Endure Pain up? Is Shield Block up? ( I shouldn’t have to tell you how to play against shield block.) Once those questions are answered. Its time to weapon switch. Once switch is done have your Rendered claws on auto attack to stack vulnerability. Use Unholy Feast.. Get that retaliation working. If at this point of time if the warrior has more health than you keep a decent distance with the cripple from Unholy Feast. Use Reaper’s Touch to get some Regeneration (regen.) working. Then Spinal Shiver to Kite immediately followed by Ghastly Claws (While continuing to kite). Weapon swap to re-use Vs Melee combo.
If said warrior is lower health than you at this point, you got some breathing room good for you. Spinal Shiver to close up Reaper’s Touch (For full bounce effect damage) Ghastly to kill(if not dead weapon swap and he should be yours).

Focus of Leaching (On swap the next attack steals life)

Description:
A power Necro build is not for the weak and under trained. It requires skill, and knowledge of what other class can do, what their bursts are and when the best time to burst is. After learning that, then you will be able to play somewhat coherent. thats about 10% of the fight. 30% is not missing a burst. 30% Knowing what to do when you miss your burst. And the Last 30% is the use of Death Shroud (DS).

When versing other Classes:
Note- I will not Discuss uses of DS Until further down guide. As well as Spectral armor.

Minion Ai is buggy
Fear is short IMO
Traits are bugged/bad not working to full description etc/ Bad traits slots in wrong tree/ Some traits dont work.
What else. Enlighten me please.
Do you really play? or do u just copy builds online. And since the traits you decided to trait dont work. Call everyone else a troll? What else. I have work. ill be back to see enlightenment. Cause all “skills work” ALL DS “Skills” work All Utility skills work. thats serious. traits minion ai etc are bugs/error. What ever you prefer to call them

Good day im tired of trying now.
Maybe one day you will be able to play a power necro and see what it can do. But until then I stop. This nonsense arguement has gone overboard to nothing. All i tried to do was reason that a power necro is not in somewhat way underpowered. One day we shall play. And when they day comes i’ll be happy to see that you stop posting nonsense. Please dont complain if you cant land wells. Wells is burst not dmg. Auto attacks hurt and you should be viable in fights. message if need to know how to use it correctly.

Well since i see that you know the guild strictly business. the (fort aspenwood one) ( im not sure if they are spread out but i have a strictly business on my server). I disagree that eles and necros need buffs in PvP play. A well played ele thats specc’d dmg can survive for a long time given even with the 11-14K health they have. and for necros, Few bugs here and there but nothing serious, Maybe fix the DS ui but nothing overwhelming to tend to peoples need on this forum.

I also agree with the backlash situation. It will cause problems in everyother forum but the said class. ( necro/ele). For playing a necro from since pre launch- i have learned this class well enough to say, That people who play a condition necro that know what they are doing , Are a huge advantage to the team, INcluding combo builds.. etc etc. In my eyes i see bugs/ minor glitches/ bad traits to be fixed. I feel that people who say this is underpowered, fighting an uphill fight are poorly mistaken.

Think i only Spvp? 70% win ratio tourneys. Champion phantom. Yea i use my life force to absorb burst. But why do you not fear during the 100 blades burst then F1 out. Seeing this alot in tourneys im at roughly 30% LF left. I only use DS for small amounts of time. I gap close, get out of DS to continue to auto attack. SO my life force is always regan. Using spectral armor At the right time gets you back to 100% LF. Plus the trait which activates it at 50%. I’m rarely at no life force at all. Yes i do assume people are bad on this forum.(necromancer one that is.) Because i see people complain about the simplist things that can be easily turned around if they gave thought on how to play.

You also shouldn’t assume I’m a baddie. Champion phantom title. Proves that i know how to tourney play. Why would you use life transfer to burst at all? Thats no dmg besides 3 seconds of more sustained life at a slow rate of dmg. The aoe dmg that comes from it Immediatly kills clones and turrents. And So what if i start at 0% LF if i cant get enough to use my F1 while im at zero in the fight. then im a bad. But im not. I only DS the 100 blades if im blindsinded or immobilized then charged. An easy fear gets him away. I tell you whats sledge hammered. When a warrior pops his quickness I blind the stun, Immobilize him, roll backwards, drop both wells on top, to a flesh golem charge. Thats how you sledge hammer someone.

Sorry bout the dagger post. Wasn’t positive about the dmg. But it seems i hit 2 times, but now that im not rushing to work that i see it hits 2 times. Why wouldnt you want a free blind/condi transfer, and a weakness? So i do apologize on my ignorance there.
My survivabilty? Fear, chills to kite, blind, immobilize, DS, and a charge from a flesh golem. Thats seems like alot of close up survivability to me.

Matter of Fact the only time i can remeber using life siphon is when a ranger is condition and i just life siphon when im about 19k Hp just to troll some dmg on him while being his rapid fire is over and im at 17k.

Being hated by my team? They have complete trust in me to 1v1 somebody. Because I have learned what my class can and cant do. And really theres not alot i can not do.

In addition, The 50% endurance regan, and fumble is awesome to have.

Come to fort aspenwood. Tourney with me and then you can shut your mouth about your thoughts on power necro is weak. End of story. ( i know this is late reply but just got off work.) And take up my offer or were gonna have argument over this for a long time. Champion phantom title. 150 tourny wins. Get on my level.

Never once have i said you suck. and Glass cannon? define glass cannon. Glass cannon is a 100 blades war who specs all crit/power. AS me i do the same. but i have DS and more base HP.

Wait what.? Do u think i jsut sit around auto attack? This is not theory this is my playstyle. Range YOU HAVE A GAP CLOSER IN DS THAT CHILLS THEM. I HAVE A CHILL WITH Weapon swap. so what your ranged i can still get in your face, and i dont need to if i can just pull out my axe. Wells… Learn to use them correctly before coming at that wells can be dodged. WHY would anyone just put wells down if there not gonna tick for full? IF you have a target flesh golem charges target. IF no target flesh golem charges the way in which he is facing. Yeah enemys double tap, So why dont u double tap on top of them?? Common sense…… Mister…. learn to play a power necro instead of trying one out. not figuring out why the wells are getting dodged by good players. Cant you watch them watch the dodges, then Immobilize WELL, WELL what are they gonna do? Some classes can get out but i just fear them once they do. If your not a good necro then u cant land a good well rotation. There are smart players, AND there are smart necros. just because they can dodge roll. dont you think ive seen that happen before? Yeah i have. and thats why patience and timing is key to playing a necro

Axe is used to stack vulnerability hence the low AA dmg. 2 is for burst 3 is for fighting melee classes. AXe is only meant to stack Vulnerability. I do aggre that it is weak, But if you know what your doing. get 10 stacks of vuln. switch to other weapons, burst down while using Vulnerability stacks.

Yes i do agree some guards are annoying. But the another point is i explained this a while back post that got deleted. so now i refrain from cussing. which turns into "kitten"s…..
The point of wells is to have Burst. Though i can easily kill someone without it just as well as with is. It just requires more time, and more effort meaning which ( switching weps back and forth). When i get off work tonight i will see how the pusling heal works and if + healing power actually effects it as it needs to be. I noticed that our traits for Life steal in Blood, Is a little low, 25 Hp per hit? Why doesnt healing power affect this? Which it doesnt, Why not increase the gain amount…. 25 is really low… maybe 150 is ok i can live with that. IN other words. The trait not sure of the name the one that 50% bonus life siphon? Why doesnt this affect life steal? If it does? does it affect LS on weapon sigils?. And does it affect pulsing. Ill see what i can do when i get off work.

Well honestly, IMO i like the wells not being ground targeted Because thats what i am use to and like using. I DO agree with the fact thats its i na bad spot in the trait line. Should probably be one of the 5 or maybe a 10 trait. Cds arent too bad. I can live with it. I do not know much about the pulsing all that i know is that if u spec healing power + 4 wells/with protection and regan.. OP tank necro

U obvisously do not know the utility of your class.. Double dagger can pull out 6k in matters of a second. AXE is used for retaliation and finishing burst/Vun stacks? Why do you think the auto attack dmg is so low. You stack Vulnerability. Then you can switch to your dmg weps… Im tired of this please try a power build. Learn how to use it. AND THEN COME CRITICIZE. If you havent even got good with it how can u diss it? A good power/crit necro can kill someone in the matter of seconds. Time your ccs well enough they take full well dmg and wont even be able to heal if your good. But im guessign since your critizing the class you do not know how to play YOU wouldnt know this.

Edit: i do stand corrected. You may know the utility of your clas seeing another post of yours was very well written. I do have to say. For power necros. Its about knowing what does what and bla bla bla. Stuff you already have heard. Double dagger Pushes out Condition with enfeeble/ Blind and condition transfer with #4 and auto attacks push out more because of the dual weapons. for ex (877,877, 1k,1k 1.3k) <— not real numbers just an example. Power build is a great sledgehammer Build, Yes OTHER classes are better, But wh ythe hell do we have DS. Its so when they burst us We necros press, F1 and laugh in there face, Then i burst them. and all the ycan do is auto attack me, and with my spec/build im keeping my health up there even if u are. Thieves you may say are powerful, but honestly, there a tomato on the ground reeady to be squashed. All u have to do is catch them let them burn initiative and then kill them that simple. And yes i am in there face when i auto attack them down. You may be confused but yet it is very simple. ( sorry for no paragraphs trying to rush this before work).

Now learn to play with the other skills induced into the combo incl. DOuble dagger skill #4 DS Skill #2, AxE/focus SKILL#5 and 4 If u go down like a glass cannon your not doing it right. and if u cant kill someone im sorry to say. That power build is not for you

Well compared to other posters on threads. Conditions is dmg. Yes but to all these posters Condition IS DPS. IM trying to clarify the difference… Condition dmg is sustained dot dmg. and people are saying that necros have no DPS. Trying to use correlations for people. Sorry for the misunderstanding. To your Saying of “try another class power/crit”. I dont have a problem face to face with those classes, my knowledge of my class and the use of my skills allows me to beat them Right infront of there face.

Why is condition the only viable spec in everyones eyes? AC and PS did condition does that mean “i must do it”?. Just because your power build lacks dmg to comparassion to mine, doesnt mean we have no power. thieves and warriors are no problem to me. as a Power/crit necro. Im not a glass cannon. preferably more tanky than wars. Necromancers are just fine besides traits skill and minion ai bugs. Otherwise if your getting rolled your not doing it right o.O

i do agree with Angry. my build isnt just effective to1v1. Its just power/crit. Meaning i can 1v1 means i can outplay the other class. All classes can 1v1 eachother just depending on how you play. NO class has a real upper advantage on 1v1 pvp. People are complaining that condition does no DMG…. its not suppose to be dmg build its suppose to be condition build. people watch twitch.tv too much to decide what they want to build. its very annoying. seeing people claw at you because “condition is the only tourney pvp spec”.

My build^. paragraphs doing alright for you?. Because i have no trouble continuing why you are so stubborn to see only few spells are useful in pvp. Get out the box and Learn.

Edit: Wells are bad to people have brains?… Dont you have a brain. Dont you know what an immobilize does? dont you know how to bait? Do you not know how to properly learn to play against classes. Learn combos. Learn what works then please apply your “brain” to this concept.

I have little to no problem 1v1 most prof. While I might not win all of them. I can last until my team shows up or just make some one wast a lot of time. I also don’t play a build that I think is even strong in 1v1. Its very weak at it.

The fact of the matter is that JP is right. Learning to use DS correctly will greatly improve your game. Knowing when to go in, when to use fear, aoe, gap closer. How to build life force. I also have yet to play a build that uses soul reaping. So I am not talking about using it when its buffed. I am talking about something that is available to all Necro’s.

There are way too many Necro’s on in this game that think DS is nothing more than a second life bar, its that and so much more. We have an interrupt that is on a 10sec CD. We have a gap closer on a 10sec CD. And we have more life on a 10sec CD. This is something all Necro’s have on every build. What Prof can you say that of?

I would say more but really I like that i am one of the few good necro’s. Every player that first attacks me thinks i am a free kill, that does not last long.

Finally some other necro on the forum that DOES NOT complain. People Jon is right and if he were on the forum again he would honestly say L2P. But he cant because he would probably get fired. As quoted above thats what DS is for. You dont need it as dps. Its absorbing burst using cc gap closer, etc, As my build probably differes from angry i have no problem 1v1 i come out victorious (85% of the time). I can hold points i can tank 2-3 people on a node before my team shows up. Its Learning the class and how other classes work against you, Knowing what TO DO. People NECROS ARE NOT U.P. AS i will state in many other threads. CONDITION IS A CONDITION BUILD. NOT A DPS build. you want to dps go power. condition is to dot up enemys and assist teammates. Yes there are alot of condition removals. BUT KNOW WHAT THE YLOOK LIKE. then you pop your sig on the then spread epidemic. such and such. If you know what your doing your viable in all fights.

WHAT!?!?? are u talking about? well do u see duel pistol thiefs walking around? do u see Mace/shield wars walking around? yes there are certain weapons you use to Obtain Good Dps. You stubborness confusses me. I do not use those utilitys at all. IMO theyre good. but trash to my build. They wont nerf dagger and axe for its the only way we can maintain dps with other classes. NECROS DO HAVE OPTIONS. I run no signets and no corruptions. I run wells. ( here we go the well is bad inc). Scepter dagger works as Condition but what people do not see CONDITION NECROS are not upfront DPS. They sit in the back and dot and assist team. Yes, they are killers, yes they do help the team But really. Our bleed dmg is U.P. A thief can spam deathblossom get up to 25 stacks. for we can get about 15 maybe 18 at most with ours. Sorry im a little slow im just bored doing free tourneys. But as i said. there are many viable builds for necros to do what u want to do. The main 3 i have seen are Condition/Power/Tank. Not many other versitile ways. But what other class has versitile ways. Not warriors, not thiefs, not mesmers, not guards. WE may be limited to certain specs/traits to be viable in pvp But isnt every other class?

What is in Ds to master? Not popping it because ur panicing. I have 1-2 traits for Ds that dont even matter. DS is used IMO. To absorb Burst, to close gaps, When to use what, Most people i see just use DS to straight #4… this dissapoints me.. very much. I see that you want to learn necro. And let me tell you. your gonna be riding that tricycle for a while. DS Be smart about it. Know what skils to use to gain LF ( life force) know when u should fear, know when to gap close, and know when to spam one. IMO skill#4 (dont remember name even though im doing tourney play right nowlol) should be used to take out illusions those 3v1 fights just to stay alive longer, and not to forget to kill engis spply crates.

You simply have not learned to play the necro good yet. No need to complain because you went A spec you saw on twitch tv. Necros are balanced preferably an above OP one. the dev is right. the necro community is people who do NOT know how to play. DS is op. 2nd health bar. gap closer, fear, and if vs mesmer or engi, clones and turrents can be easily disposed with the use of skill # 4 in DS. Please learn to play before posting. Only fixes needed is minion AI and (Imo our fear is too short, or shorten the fear of when thiefs steal ours), and some traits. THATS IT. nothing else.

Necro’s are fine, Minion AI is choppy, Fear is short. But IF you actually know what your doing. After playing the class, Learning how to/do what during fights with other classes, YOUR FINE. People of the Gw2 Community, NECROS ARE FINE. Just a few bugs here and there but nothing serious to stop DS from being reworked? Its our 2nd life, gap closer, Fear… why would you get rid of that . WHO says you have to stay in DS for the whole time, Just fear f1 out, Gap close f1 out. WHY cant you just learn to play a necro. Learn what works and what doesnt instead of complaining when you get rolled by people because you do not have any technique, If anybody ordered the Special edition with the handbook, it quote " Necro’s are the hardest class to master". Once you can mast the plaay of a necro, Its very difficult to die. Stop complaing and learn how to play. Jon Peters is right. IM OP as hell when i play my necro. And im tired of people complaining when they havent even learned the basics of a necro. So many utilitys, so many counter moves, and SO MUCH Living time. People stop complaining and learn. Not trying to hate, But theres only certain bugs and traits that need to be tweaked thats all. Nothing as an entire Gameplay change. Sorry for this but im tired of these posts. BEcasue one day theyre gonna rework the necro because of this community, and it will never be the same for good necros all around.

Nothing is wrong with wells… If u give wells 8 seconds. the damge is too far spread out and no way to keep someone cc’d in a well. Point of a well is to immobilze the oppenet in it. Yes they may and are suppose to hit multiple targets but good players will not let you do that. Indeed this does sound good for PvE. But for PvP, wells are just fine.

Power/Crit build <— what your looking for. Double daggers out 3 to double well to flesh golem charge to AA, You can fit the other skills in the combo as u like. but thats how Power is done

Tank necro.. Healing amulet. Runes of water. Sigils on 2 daggers of water, switch to (Whatever) pref staff/scepter;warhorn. Spec for All 4 wells, 30 in blood magic, and anywhere else u want t ogo that gives you toughness. Do not spec for Vit, Spec for Toughness and healing Power. To sruvive drop 1-2 wells at a time and let the pulse do its job. Elite is up to you enjoy holding points

Necro play is not under powered in any such way, We are viable in Tourney Play. How do i know? Because i play a Necro in tourney play. though i do agree with you on Minion AI being a total piece of crap.( due to not with me no commands to stop attack, and gets bugged on ledges.). IMO Wells, are the only considerable utility viable in TPvP, Though some may disagree with this factor, considering corrupt boon, etc.. There are many ways you can make a necro strong with out being a glass cannon. In such being that there are condition/Power/tank builds people will run. Starting with 0 Life force is debatable I think that it is fair. give us 100% LF then how are we going to lose a 1v1? In all respone to the OP My auto attacks never hit less than 800.. So i am a bit confused on your understanding of necro auto attacks being weak. IMO Necros are good tourney play. Please discuss otherwise.
