Difference is, you could do your own lfg in dungeons with no such restrictions, it would fill relatively fast, and you’d still succeed. Raids on the other hand pretty much force you into this kind of behaviour if you want a reasonable chance of succeeding.

Still not sure though if what you pointed out is what OP had problems with.

Don’t know what you are talking about, I’ve organized my own raids and won several times. Better yet, join a raid learning guild and learn with them. I did, and we’ve won as a group several times as well.

Sure I’ll come with my bearbow/gs ranger that I done all the dungeons on with no problem…. Ofcourse you will let me into your raid group without changing anything right?

You refuse to understand a single thing: YOU are causing the problem in this case. YOU don’t want to meet the requirements even if it’s just adjusting your traits to sth given. So it’s YOUR fault that ppl refuse to raid with you.

I have no issue with fluidity in my builds I have many I’ve grown to feel comfortable with to take on various requirments. I just refuse to be a complete clone but still this isn’t good enough. If more of something else is needed I have frequently expressed fluidity in changing things up a bit but with my own flair not just copy/paste an exact one online but this for pretty much everyone is not good enough.

One thing: If you refuse to play a build just because it is listed as a good build somewhere is the opposite of knowing your class perfectly. I don’t bother to look on websites for builds either, but if i do to compare my build with those online, they are mostly 100% identical because that build is the best in that situation. That still does not mean that I’m a clone or sth. like that. If you choose a build by your own it is not bad in every case, but if it differes in many points from the required, you may not have understood what is needed in that situation.

Wait, did I miss an announcement here? Are they adding Story to raids?

It’d my understanding that they have a story element to them that connects with the greater story in GW2. This is why some of us are a little upset with it. Currently the only way to access that content is via a party of players. Single players are excluded.

You can enter the instances solo, there are story summaries to read.
YouTube is also your friend if you really want to experience the story but not actually participate.

I tried to enter raids and it says it has to be as part of a party. Single players aren’t allowed.

Open a raidsquad and walk in. You can enter even if you are the only one in this squad.

EDIT: @Yargesh: The tag isn’t needed. If an account has no tag it can open a limited raidsquad. But there will be no other functionality of this than entering raid, having squadchat, the possibility to group up to 10 and create subgroups.

I am spending more time in my bags than actually playing the game. Why? Because you give us so much loot you’d make the Borderlands game designers jealous.

So here’s a simple suggestion that would greatly improve QoL…
Remove Minor runes/sigils from the game entirely.
They are utterly useless, nobody use them and their vendor value makes it so that discarding them entirely is more money effective than selling them because the time you’ll save from having to go to a vendor every time you fill your bags is worth more than those runes/sigils.

no, just no. If you are still leveling in the original way (without tombs, etc. Just events and exploration), then you use them. Even keyruns use them frequently and some ppl throw them into the forge (and sometimes get sth. nice). If you dont want them salvage with a kit with a low rate of getting these (0-10%).

In trinity games there are mostly 1 tank, 1-2 healers and X guess what? DPS PLAYERS in a raid/whatever. I don’t get why some ppl think a trinity stops dps from beeing meta.

Beserker would work great for a Scrapper, since the hammer is very pure damage-based, IMO. It even would work for a rifle. However, if I want to run pistol/pistol or flamethrower, then Condition Damage would be a useful stat to have, especially with some of the selections in the Firearms spec. P/P may not be able to be used to its full potential if I just go Power/Prec/Ferocity.

Again: Who says that you have to use berserker stats to do the most damage? I thought condition does more damage for engis than direct dps.

There are NOT enough out there to make condition damage stats on par with Zerker builds. That is my point. The point of this thread was asking if anything besides zerker will ever be the optimal meta?

Conditions are already quite strong on some classes even stronger tahn any zerk build. I still don’t get the point why you think it’s not enough. It seems more that some ppl want zerk gear to vanish completely from the meta.

Make creatures/bosses whose main source of health bar is taken down by conditions.

There are such creatures out there. But even if they are not part of a specific encounter some condition based builds are wanted. I don’t get your point here…

So you need to get hit while the buff is up and many classes are just useless because they are not able to create retaliation? No, just no.

Give us creature/bosses who lose health when healers heal the other players.

What the? Same as above. If you want to get healed you have to get hit first. If the design is to get hit by the encounter as much as possible it is a really bad design. It’s just the opposite of what you are trying in an actionbased game.

I’m sure there are many different ways that other stats could become popular and join the ranks of the zerker meta if we had enemies to fight that required such.

Even if there would be such an encounter. Many stats would be nowhere but there. Thats not diversity.

People who usually play mmorpgs or rpgs in general are people who like to spend time with the game and content, besides if gaming is that much of a waste of time then why game at all? Rushing through content asap is not human nature, thats just people who dont know patience or refuse to smell the flowers. For the most part mmorpgs are meant to take time when you do group content and such.

There are ppl out there who don’t enjoy fighting a boss for hours if he is no threat at all. But thats the thing that happens if you build arround defense too much. You lower your damage and the encounter gets more and more easier. At some point that ends in enable Autoattack and go afk for 2 hours.
What some ppl enjoy is getting better, getting faster while doing their daily dungeons/fractals/whatever. Some ppl don’t try to be fast for the sake of time, but for fun. And is that not a goal of playing a game?

Please Anet, I beg you....

There is one thing wrong with the insignias. Its not the price of the leather itself, but you need 4 Bolts of Gossamer and 10 Cured Hardened Leather Squares. Also Bolts of Gossamer are between 2 and 3 silver while the squares reached 77 silver. More than 20 times higher! There is an imbalance and it should be adressed.

Legendary armor is a reward for completing the most difficult content in the game.

That comment may hold true if there wasn’t like 5/8 man teams clearing content designed for 10 man teams, so the content cannot be that “hard” its just maybe more challenging but its not hard, infact the hardest part is trying to find a non elitist group of pugs whom think they are better than everyone else.

If ppl are trying for weeks to kill VG and still were not able to kill it, it can’t be as easy as you think.

Full magi with monk runes. Get magi trinkets from dungoneer and rest of the magi trinkets as you get more magnetite. People realized zealot is terrible when wing 2 came out and it’s still terrible.

Zealot isn’t as terrible as you might think. You can soloheal sloth and trio in wing 2 with these stats. If your group is full of people who can’t dodge the shake or walk into poison etc at sloth then even magi won’t help you. If you have full zealot stats you get around 1.2k healingpower (including bufffood). Full magi has 1.6k healingpower. AT BEST you heal 400*1,1*1.1*1.1*1.1=585.64 HP more assuming a coefficient of 1.1 (with sigill, rune and bufffood). Most healingskills have a much smaller coefficient. Therefore you sacrifice 1.382 power! So you cripple your own dps to less than half of what it used to be with zealot in tradeoff for like +11-15% more healing. Also you don’t need to heal that much if your group has even a small awareness of what they are supposed to do at the encounter.

Weaker players bubble up further than they should because of the way the pip and division protection works along with streaks. Ruby and above is really where the model starts to work – except there’s a contingent of players in Ruby that are not strong enough for the league, but don’t fall back so they hover in ruby and imbalance fights. Mismatching aside (possible algorithm v population issue) , this is the core issue.

Division protection is a lesser problem than protection from losing ranks in division 1-3 and protection from losing pips in amber. Without this many people wouldn’t even get into the next division.

Lets be real for a sec, no optimal 5 man needs a rev when the chrono can hit 100% boon duration by themselves freeing up that slot for another ele/theif/DH/or Reaper.

It’s been a possible PvE daily since the new rotations were brought in, as well as being needed for a Legendary weapon collection or two. I had to go there for one of my Nevermore tiers and I’m pretty sure tier 1 of one of the other collections needed something collected from the end of the mini dungeon (I don’t remember which as I unlocked all tier 1 collections then did all the scavenger hunts one after the other lol). Oh, and there’s an explorer achievement for completion too

You need sth from the end for H.O.P.E.. I think it was sth toxic

Hate the new matchmaking. 50 matches and I am still stuck at ffirst pip emerald (!), because I win/lose exactly 50% of my matches.

If that would be the case you should be able to reach the next tier because of win/loosestreak bonuses.

I just don’t understand why having Ley Gliding is such an issue, when this is way more achievable than having ascended gear and particular builds one may not be as familiar with just to complete a raid.

Well I can’t speak for anyone else, but I have nothing against this requirement, I would just like another way to get Exp for Gliding, as opposed to having to HoT Maps, which I don’t like.

If you are interested in Raids, you just need to raid w1 and w2. The bosses reward you with many EXP. If you’re not interested in raids the requirement is nothing that you will encounter.

On a topic, started by a developer, about the new mechanics of a raid, where you have been given a free reign to speculate on what this could mean, maybe quote the Dev, and discuss how this might affect raid, as opposed to that, you spend your time wondering… why another posters is expressing their opinion on a public forum?

From that alone, you also must be totally ambivalent raids as well, if why someone else is posting is more important for you to wonder about, then discussing raids on a topic about raids. over them. I would wonder why you are posting here, but not to be ride, honestly, I don’t care.

My thoughts are on if they will make it easier or give other means to get EXp for HoT mastery lines, then doign HoT maps/meta.

I read the thread but rarely post sth on this forums. But what i really don’t like are ppl that only post sth to flame about even if they don’t like the type of content at all. Those ppl seem like they are just posting in this thread to flame Anet for minor issues which aren’t even related to content they like. And no i don’t dislike raiding. Sloth is tailored to Tempests for their AOE fear break (and also to Chronos and DHs for their reflects).
Matthias is tailored to Chronomancers for the reflects.

We did sloth yesterday without a single chrono and only one tempest. Druids and Necros did the projektile protection

Made this build for maguuma. The sustain is sweet and with the aoes you can get on par with a lot of mobs at the same time. It is mainly shamans gear for healing power vitality and condi dmg.
Has a lot of control and the dmg is decent. One of the best builds i experienced so far.

You really should use trappers expertise instead of sharpened edges. An on crit trait with 4% critrate is not that great.
Its also possible to only run one torch and still have the same skills on both sets.

What on earth are you trying with this build?
Magiarmor a klerik/rampager mix on weapons, berserker amulet, and some rampager trinkets?
You really should decide on viper or magi or sth with powerdmg (e.g. zealot, berserker).
And why a berserkerbuild with condi weapons at all? If you run a condibased build swap Marksmanship for wilderness survival.
Your utilitys always depend on what you are doing.

You really should consider other stats
For T4 you don’t need a ton of evades AND vitality AND thoughness. I normally run this levels in Berserker with lb/s+a and don’t have a big problem to survive in generell. SOme Mobs are oneshotting you, but they also will kill you if it takes twice as long to kill them.

Samies here too very much so even on my Viper druid used for its CC and WD stacking of bleeds/Vun its pretty much replaced the LB, so now im staff or lb + sword+axe.

2 boxes, 2 rings, 1 damask, 1 deldrimor and a few blacklionthings from like 3 days of all t4 dailys… tbh i didn’t saw more than 2 boxes between HoT-release and the last update… My experience is that it was buffed at a huge amount. But only time can answer this question properly (or Anet).

They didn’t remove the WvW part. A Legendary still requires Badges of Honor or Memorys of Battle.

I know there are no Tanks/Healer/DPS in this game and that is where my knowlege ends. The only reason I got to lvl80 like this is because I treated this game pretty much as an socially advanced single player game.

Sorry you are feeling upset, but instead of using wiki, you could have went to any individual in game with a legendary and simply asked them. What you said has never once existed in game.

It existed, but it was a bug. This behavior wasn’t ever planned and has been fixed month ago (i didn’t saw anyone with this bug for months).

I’m really curious if cleric ele will be worth building. Would the toughness not cause any problems? What about magi?

A cleric ele would be healer and tank at the same time unless nobody has more toughness. I had fun yesterday healing my team with a mix of zealot and cleric while kiting (some ppl would call it tanking) the boss arround.

Or maybe increase the avatar cd a bit. Even 15 seconds would be strong (or even 20 seconds, pls dont throw stones at me ).

Edit: View from PvP and i main and love ranger since launch.

That would kill it for raids. You need your heals ready when an ally needs them. 20s would be far too much, 10 sec are ok.

But you can build up AF ooc easily with regen now, this change does nothing but make it feel terrible to use in the heat of combat.

Just noticed it… AF Gen is ok now with signet and reg (even the reg trait for the pet counts O.O). But its still a bit silly that we need a target but mesmers not^^

its the same with the bristleback in the beta hense the change I agree they should change it back BUT that mean they will have to nerf the dmg of smoke assault bu like 40-50% because it was kinda broken but so hillariusly fun to watch

healing spring, a signet, all survival skills if traited, 3 condis every 10 sec if traited, Spirit of Nature, Brownbear… Hm… 10 clenses are not enough? lol I think some other classes got less

I noticed that some skills of the hammer does not have the range that is given in the discription. Skill #1, #2, #3 and #5 have 1200 units range (as said in the discribtion) but skill #2 and #3 dont reach the given range (or #1 and #5 have a higher range as intended). I can hit an immobile enemy with #1 and #5 but if i use #2 or #3 in the same situation (didn’t move after #1) they dont hit the target even if their animation reache it.

The class is still being tuned and there is work that needs to be done, true. Still, I can see ANet making some adjustments to it to make it better in its various roles. Also, if you’re doing it only with the celestial gear, and not tailoring the gear to the role you want to play, then everything will be sub par.

I did healing with a healing set and saw a major increase in healing output. DPS in a tailored DPS set, good, if not stellar DPS.

What kind of stats do you consider is DPS gear? I tried assassin gear (can we also change trinkets to fit gear stats?) and it didn’t seem to be that different in what kind of damage I could do.

Got 95% critical hitchance with fury in berserk gear. Assasin is a bit of an overkill. Berserker with scholar runes and staff semms a bit like DPS but its not that great. Only staff skill 5 has some serious dmg (but its also a knockback, so be careful while fighting with your group). Hammer skill 2 has some dmg while in range but you wont reach a distance like that in dungeons without beeing out of range for all buffs your group could give you. Maybe great in WvW but didnt try. Maybe i try it today…

I haven’t played revenant myself, but from what I’ve seen, he seems to be very high on AoE, which might be the reason why he has lower damage.

Hm maybe… Wait… I forgot about the staff ele on fire… Pure AoE combined with one of the highest damage outputs in the whole game… No, AoE cant be the reason…
