The funny thing is, I came back to GW2 after abandoning GW1 due to RL issues with the highest oh hopes, hoping to find a game that would be like DAOC and GW1 combined. It kind of is that way, but it fuses mainly the so-so ideas or shows new bad parts like no holdable souvereignity while keeping some key ideas from DAOC like the 3 realm battle, and finally adds a portion or other good ideas like no Buff Bots to make a good game, but with so much untapped potential like the meaningful claiming of keeps by guilds that it hurts sometimes.

DAOC even send you a message in the chat when your tower was under siege, and there was no such nonsense as a weekly reshuffle because there were no servers in that way, just always a single server where 3 factions battled.

Add an area where people can defend their! land, their! tower and their! realm with an ingame chronicle how the realms changed which is written by selected volunteers.
Add a board where guilds can write down a few sentences what they are, what they do and a counter how long they held on to what.
Add a few unique skins, weapons etc who show that you are a proud member of the guild that grimly holds the Forsaken Waste Tower X in a really hostile spot.
Keep the guild member limit to avoid a situation like in Eve where souvereignity turned into a joke that is divided into 2 main powers and penalize people for creating satellite states.

I am pretty sure that Anet would not manage to handle all the people that would get washed ashore on their glades easily.

How many guilds make Tequatl or three headed worm via guild spawn? Please correct me if I am wrong, but not too much. Why? Fear they have to invest 15 minutes in Tequatl for a 2 gold reward? Thanks to the megaserver system, the most annoying part of making the three headed worm is to look for a server that has as less randoms as possible to enable everyone in the respective TS to join in, grudgingly asking for randoms on the card when there are too few people in the TS. If this is not elitist behavior, reasonable or not, then I don´t know what is elitist behavior.
Do not get me wrong here: Every TS I regularly visited for Worm was full with nice people, and the people involved in the organization were friendly and responsive. And it is definitely reasonable to do this because it is so much easier if most people on the worm card are in TS. Some TS groups even make a guild spawn if the first run fails, so nothing to complain here.

I would think that these guilds not inviting random people on their TS don´t make this often because they can be made by random people in the case of Tequatl and you don´t have to kiss the bottoms of your guild members to show up at a certain time.
My other idea is that speed runner and elitist guilds are too small to do such runs.
My third idea is that they can´t be bothered to do a Worm run over and over again, neutralizing therefore the argument that people do dungeons and more challenging events because they like to do them as a group challenge.

You can indeed always pick up new tricks from other servers and servers, but that is not a one way ticket. That´s more of a a big cup of elitist col aid drink you are brewing with this attitude.

I have seen Gold Soldiers that are buffed to the teeth getting trampled over by PvPers who were not even Bronze Invaders, so the rank of an indvidual player also means nothing for learning something from him. I am a Silver Soldier at the moment, earned from scouting, zerg commanding, repariring, defending, roaming and small scale, but I know as good as nothing about duelling or GvG, but know where to place siege for example. ^^

i just wanna kill him and take the sword that should be mine… and i cant even use swords nor do i like the design very much but thats besides the point. I (we) killed zhaitan, without me (us) he wouldnt even have made it through his own god darn prophercy, he was what.. like 20 years in orr and didnt map it out to find where the place is to do his kittening life mission? He took the place of my mentor tybalt who i adored as a character and then got the audacity to just straight up lead the pact without any military knowledge unlike the god darn iron legion centurio (me) in his shadow who does his dirty work?

According to this reasoning in WWII, you would be the Patton to Eisenhower Thrahearne, commanding part of an army rivaling the French Grand Armee, Roman Legions and Alexander the Great´s army in their respective time. Eisenhower was not exactly an experienced senior officer when he took over command of the allied western forces, he was chosen because he had diplomatic skills and was highly respected from American, British and French generals, even the notoriously stubborn and difficult to control Montgomery obeyed him.

So should have Patton challenged Eisenhower to a duel for the leadership of the allies because he was the more battle experienced officer?^^

There are already enough elitist Arah soloers, zerk dungeon runners and lvl 50 fractal grabbers around(yeah, I know, just don´t join our parties, open your own group, jaba jaba…), they have enough outlets. And still, if a single raid would satisfy them, I would relucantly advocate for an introduction of it. But we all know it wouldn´t, as soon as the first guild would be through, the yawning and moaning would begin all over again…

I am as annoyed as everyone else when for example Marionette failed because of people unable to play their class or unable to see how the mob worked, but I still vastly prefer that to a closed raid full of pros.

Ok, so then we make a little mind jump here and look at how predictions about possible market values and stuff may work out:

*What is the most successful film of the Star Wars franchise?`After inflation, of course. The for any SW fan iconic return of the Jedi you say, ranking 13th in the AFI list of best movies ever? Sadly not. It´s Phantom Menace, not even appearing on that list, where a bubbling idiot creature it taking screen time from the story for childrens amusement and most people only want to watch the last 30 minutes or so of the movie.
*Which single sold better? Nelly featuring the better background singer Kelly Rowland with “Dilemma” nobody remembers or Queens legendary “Bohemian Rapsody” everybody knows? You guess it…
*Every male hates Titanic, a puny love story build after a sadly real desaster? Probably not. Up until 2009 with the rise of Avatar, it was the only film to gross over 2 Billion dollar in the cinemas without factoring inflation in, if not then it has broken the 3 billion barrier. The number 3 on that list, Jurassic World, is not even close to 2 billion.
*A simple housewife can´t write a six books spawning, record breaking series about a young, geeky boy going to a secret school, rising to face a series of obstacles before battling the murderer of his parents? She can. It´s called Harry Potter…

Tl:dr Market prediction is not a mathematical formula built on proofs, it´s a fickle prediction that can lash at you from a totally unexpected direction sometimes.

If you can, compare the story of GW1 with GW2 and tell me which is which:
One is a story about noble intentions gone wrong with rather unexpected twists and the tragic end of an empire, a father/son relationship, a doomed love, treason and the near extintion of a race clinging to the last remnants of it´s former glory.
The other is a story of smaller undead dragons, minions and semiautonomous bodyparts attacking after lurking in a long sunken civilization, and a flying cannonboat.

Although it had it´s moments, the personal story is mostly unheroic in general and can´t hold a candle to GW1.
Almost all of your opponents(An exception here and there with your Risen battle brother or the development about your sister) and support stay unpersonal and forgettable, I can´t even tell you the name of the guy that invited my first character into the orders, or name you any other minion of Zhaitan except for the Eye of Zhaitan, although I also remember fighting a fat, important minion in some passage in Orr. Not even sure if the Wizard guarding the Gates of Arah is part of the personal story.^^

I like Canach because he gives no Skritts, gets the job done, and all without being a jerk.

he’s got enough morals to not be a baddy, but has no time for frivolous niceties. he’s rough, but helpful. I’m hoping we get him to join DE2.0

This is basically the real reason for the Trahearne hate. Not that he is the overall chief of the pact, but that he is a brooding and silent hero type who has to be dragged into the whole thing while Canach is an actor of his own choice, largely unloaded by a consciousness tugging at him.

Is it me or do the human ones look a lot like what Axl Rose and Stephanie Seymour wore in the November Rain video? The jacket isn’t exactly the same but with the right dyes I could see it looking very similar.

Now I want to make a character who looks like Axl and give him that outfit. (And use loads of shout skills.)

The human brides clothes are indeed very, very similar to the dress Seymour wore in that video. The human and sylvary stuff looks decent or at least ok. All other outfits are just horrible, especially the cat turned frankensteins bride formerly known as Charr. The male Norn looks like a gorilla stuffed into a suit(which is exactly the same with the nobleman set), but this one has also been coroned recently.

Torolan.5816

I think my biggest frustration with the Guild Wars 2 game & world is the lack of “open world” dungeons.

The first run I ever did in an open world dungeon was Caer Sidi in DAOC, and that was horrible beyond description. Laggy, hordes of people literally falling over each other while mobs bugspawned through walls and such stuff. Took me a whole sunday where I questioned my own sanity and also armed with the question if that really was time well spent when I watched the megabosses of that dungeon fall in no time. Obviously not even Mythic thought someone would be so persistent to actually run that behemoth and did not make them particulary hard after you had fought through legion of hard trash mobs and turned the castle inside out.^^

And i would not put my hopes up to high if I were you. Numbers don´t lie, and if Anet indeed has credible numbers that support the idea that dungeons don´t carry their weight in attracting and keeping players in the game, there won´t be new dungeons. ractals probably take the place of stationary dungeons with the more than blunt attempt of Anet ot make them even more accessible and quick to pull through. If I had made lvl 80 in the early days of Fractals, I would be royally mad if I were still playing now.

If you follow the idea that Soutsun failed because it was hard and not casual, please also consider that people fell in droves while Orr was new and exciting, and again when the champion ghosts were a little bit overpowered and literaly sucked the life out of everything.

It is not a success because it requires effort, has not much too offer story- and event wise, lacks easy champions and the rewards are solid, but not spectacular enough to lure people away from their easy going, super boring trains in the vanilla areas(Unlike SW). Talking about carrying owls to Athens here, if many people are actually asking for the easy grind, we others are screwed and either have to leave or admit defeat and force ourself in the game, making it basically a colourful chatroom.

Is just that a “not so big” group of players that are totally used to the low difficulty standars of vainilla gw2, and as such never improved, went head on (to die in some cases) against HoT mobs, in a lot of cases in their berzerker gears, witch most of them could use since the difficulty of vainilla was too low.

  • In conclusion:

Since the game didnt teach them to be more skilled and they neither did for themselves, they went to die there and are complaining now.

  • Posible solution that doesnt hurt the affected “not so big” population:

Create a “training maguma camp” where players go against some of the enemies of HoT and are explained about they dinamics, reading mobs skills and passives below they health bar, posisionating, and such.

Give a title, mini, some skins, gold, etc and a mastery point as a rewards, progresivly as players complete the “training camp”.

With this rewards people will not avoid this camp and guys that can take the content will go for the shinies also.

Don´t forget to hand the poor below than average Berserk players that ridiculously still exist after literaly years of practice in stacking and being at the top of the foodchain in a world of mediocre mobs also a supper and let them rest on a comfortable bed after they have completed the camp for some minutes, with a busty nurse sitting beside them and sing a nice song.
(If you are disabled or somehow hindered, you are of course excused from this comment)

This post is so much win. It perfectly illustrates how the mighty have fallen in the course of a single weekend and the bandwaggoners have been separated from the veterans that can actually play Berserker^^

As much as I usually support Anet, I think they really showed a certain kind of creative bancruptcy with the LS and then HoT, and now were basically swept at the knees and forced to bend forward and change their model to a model they did want to avoid but were swept into by the number of customers, or rather their lack of customers. As strong as the lure is to present good but short impact numbers to shareholders, it is still the customer who will ultimately decide if your company lives or dies.

PR guys must be walking on crutches right now with Anet. They took the full brunt of staying silent on pressing matters for either the same shareholder reason like a release date that does not fit into a season or a mayor shareholder with interest in another game too blocking any attempts to give out better PR, or they were complete caught with the pants down attitude of Anet when the free LS failed. Some companies float despite the owners, not because of them.

And speaking of shrinking numbers, if your idea is novel or your brand is strong, people will obviously come, despite your product standing on 80% good will and 20% Alpha grade modules for a game with unknown release date. People basically can´t wait to throw money at Star Citizen and Chris Roberts, who is probably laughing like a madman on his way to the bank.

2016 will be interesting as there may be two releases that could potentially take away players. We’ll see though. They are already borderline losing the WvW players as is due to population and server ranks combined with no progression or player portal that lists various accomplishments by guild, class, etc.

A really simple solution to a problem that could have been avoided from the start and was finally kned to its knees with EOTM. Everyone who played DAOC knows that these things are really nice to have and let me to play it long after it had long overstayed it´s welcome.

Eve did not have the large heap of players because there are too many wolves runinng for much too less sheep in that game with a fence around the sheep that is much too low. I am actually amazed that it rose to the level it has already achieved with the powergrip of BoB, CF Alliance, PL and the Russians over 0.0 room over the last years, most of them only really losing their grip to power when they began to turn against their friends because they were so bored from the game itself. Now the publisher even had to build in a mechanic to kind of steal systems from the big block. And in China, it is probably even worse.^^

I never even opened a website that shows you how to make builds for GW2, and I don´t run Berserk stuff by principle. And still, I have yet to encounter a single, common trash mob in GW2 which I could not defeat after seeing how it works. This casual players don´t want to invest time and effort stuff is really baffling me, especially when counting in that the people incapable of learning like Algreg has put it so brilliantly probably just have to run it for a limited time before they can return to safer grounds like Orr.

As an example:
A friend of mine, who is a doctor and father of 2 children, likes to relax in a horrible korrean grinder in the tradition of Silk Road after playing Diablo and even Ultima Online for years. He is far from stupid or lazy and he knows his min-maxing, but still spends a lot of time away from the game because of hospital commitments and to have time for the family. Now I am entirely unsure if he is a casual or a hardcore gamer, but I am pretty sure that even if you are incapable of becoming a doctor(I surely am incapable), you can learn by observation in a matter of hours or maybe days if you are a really bad observer.^^

Fully agree with Tongku here.

I had really hoped for LS2 to be extraordinary good after I had a blast with LS1. I know that open world events are not everyone´s cup of tea, but I found them to be much, much more enjoyable than the sluggish, storywise recycled griniding for AP content that LS2 turned out to be.
The real kick in the family jewels for me was when they sent out the poor excuse of a story writer who told people how novel and exciting the script for LS2 was, beside it still being exactly the same like in the Zhaitan story.
Zhaitan:
Random background story – Introduction in order – Hero finds friend – Looses friend -allies turn undead – lots of mid level bosses(some traitors, some former allies you never heard of before your meet them) – Endbattle
LS2 Story
Find the clues story – Pact commander duties – Hero´s sidekick reconciles with Sister(Looking for my sister story anyone?) – Loses Sister -lots of mid level bosses – Endbattle with a midlevel boss and a traitor.

Sure, there are only so many narratives of a story you can use, but that obvious ripoff was neither innovative, impressive or just good concealed.^^

Will we ever see new playable Races?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Torolan.5816

Torolan.5816

There is a 99% chance we will never see new races.

1. They would have to do all the voice acting for the personal story.

2. They would have to make new personal story quests up until the point where you join the orders and it all becomes the same.

3. At this point most people have all professions at max level, and would not want to reroll. So ArenaNet would have to make a race change kit, which they refuse to do.

4. They would have to adjust all weapons and armour to the new race, as well as making new cultural armour.

1. Money wise, the money needed for recording voices is laughable when put into perspective with Server maintenance cost, regular employee hours etc. It´s a one time investment with no lasting cost, fit to be used from the company at their leisure. We´re talking about 50K money for the really expensive people, and nobody forces you to take Mark Hamil as voice when you can pick a talented actor fresh from acting school too, nobody cares who he or she is when the voicing is good.

2. A viable reason, but again, cheap to make when you recycle stuff from other stories. Besides, RPG story concerns will be thrown out of the window anyway with the introduction of the Revenant, who has to travel back in time to join the pact 2 years before the first Revenant Rytlock appears.

3. With this reasoning, everybody would have maximum 8 characters, and you just have to look around to see how that is not the case…

4. One time investment in 3 Sets of racial Samurai Tengu armor < A lot of happy customers.
I don´t know much about programming, but I am pretty sure that it would be manageable to bring the models already existing in PvE to the players screen.

No. There is very little to do in Southsun. It has the capture the forts. The event where you gather stuff for the asura. The event where you gather Karka eggs. The event where you go into a cave and set bombs. A couple of jumping puzzles. The Karka Queen. A couple of guild events. And that’s about it. The rest of what to do there is farming.

Southsun flaw is not hard mobs but lack of anything to do for decent rewards, as you can tell by comparing it to the Silverwastes which also has hard mobs but plenty to do and good rewards.

In that light, Southsun looks indeed a little like the prototype of SW. It lacks the chests, the champions and a boss that is doable more than once a day for profit. Combine that with the ability of the Karka to force players to fight in unfavorable conditions for damage dealers, then you probably know why Soutsun wasn´t a success but SW is.

So in your opinion, more people would go to Southsun if the Karka Veterans were the usual garbage push over a veteran from another card is and did not drop the guaranteed shell, gifting you endless hours of tiring grind with a very minor chance to drop the stuff you want like in Orr or Frostgorge? I think Anet knew what they were trying with this approach, it´s really not their fault people did not like it.

I’m just wondering the replayability of the zone- much like Dry Top or the karka island, I’m wondering what will keep players interested in going back there.

Even in the danger of repeating myself from another thread, the introduction of Soutsun Grove was simply glorious, that island was already a win when you entered it for the many, many whines it generated. You had people that could run the whole of AC with closed eyes in the most efficient way, screaming how unfair it is that there are mobs that could not be bursted down, facetanked or controlled easily, or other mobs that actually had a mechanic that would not only generate an AoE, but could also drag you into it. People fell in droves when the Karka Veterans started to roll, you could basically see the stupified amezement in the eyes of them.^^
Today, Southsun is still a good farming ground, the initial reasons many people hated it beside the Karka are long gone with the settler champions disappearing. You have a lot of wood, a guaranteed shell drop from a veteran and ore on a comparatively small spot, and a karka shell is a nice item to sell in the TP. The reason you do not see many people there is probably that it is really unfriendly to zerkers, mobs are plentiful and it is old news from 2012.

Drytop on the other hand is a RNG heavy place with lots of jumping and hard to find ways when you are not experienced in navigating them, so I am not exactly surprised that it has quickly fallen in favor.

Silverwaste will probably stay a favorite for a long time because it shed all the RNG stuff and had an easy to read waypoint and map mechanic system. Kudos to whoever created it, it is so easy to understand that even a total newbie with an average high school diploma should be able to run it smoothly after some days. But even there, people ask for commanders, but that is a different story…^^

More casuals running and learning with zerk is a good thing. The fact that you can get 1-hit while gliding or talking to npcs means more people will go and hide behind a wall of vit and toughness. I find the irony of you people telling us zerkers to l2p amusing.

So we are in the same boat when I say that Zerk armor is unforgiving for a new/slow reflex player who could have survived the hit in Knight/Valkyrie/Soldier Armor cause it had given them more time to react or for a healing power like Signet of Courage to kick in? Nobody is suggesting that the more experienced and skilled player should not use Berserk, but there should be viable alternatives to it.

The Ele can even partly compensate his lack of take down power with Valkyrie armor to a degree by using Arcane Power with a base cooldown of 45 seconds. Not meta, but we are just talking about basic mob management here.

Having a sniper spawn behind me and killing my zerk tempest in 1-hit is so ridiculous.

The only place I take zerker gear off is on Arah, WvW, and PvP. Since the snipers are a white common, I’ll have to add HoT to that list since I have to assume that snipers will eventually spawn behind me when I’m talking to npcs or something.

Its hard enough to get casuals with zerk gear on dungeons. Anet forcing cheap gear on people so they can survive HoT will make casuals with zerkers even rarer.

That actually sounds like a great development. Sounds to me like a lot of less new players who repeatedly kiss the floor in the literally first fight of the fist dungeon after reading how you can only run Berserk in such a poor, supereasy dungeons as AC is one because you would loose valuable time when running it in another, a little more stable gear and hinder your pro zerker friends by being incompetent or badly equipped.

stuff

You fail to understand your opposition’s argument. Southsun wasn’t a fail because the content was too hard, it was a fail because the content was buggy, laggy, boring and unrewarding. While no longer buggy and laggy as it used to be, Anet put no QoL into the zone, they left it to rot. Raising the HP on enemy mobs to make it more “difficult” is just lazy on the part of the developers. They claim to have challenging content in the expansion, we’ll see. If their recent updates are any indication for what’s in store many players will be disappointed, myself included.

As you obviously also were there when Southsun was introduced, lets recapitulate it then, ok?
Sadly you are right with the idea that Southsun was left to rot. I don´t even want to defend Anet for this policy because I too think that this is not only sad but also a bad idea for the development of the game. I also agree that adding HP instead of a mechanic is bad and the easiest way out.
But:
1. Regular Veterans and young Karka were never that buggy. Granted, sometimes they jumped back to full HP and you had to begin from scratch, but that was rather uncommon and was rather quickly fixed.
2+3. The content was laggy because people came to the island with the idea that they could rush from settler champ to settler champ all day long. This kind of also adds in to point 3, the boring map. I gladly agree that the settler champ uprising idea was pure garbage, but that lasted for how long, 3 weeks? Besides, people regularly ask Anet for literaly circular and horribly boring events like the Queens Anniversary or the Halloween labyrinth in the forums, so isn´t this the kettle calling the pot black then?
4. A karka veteran is not unrewarding, you always get a shell from it. That is not enough to make people farm them regularly because people only accept the utter maximum instead of pretty nice, but it is a solid item in the AH.
5. Tequatl was hard to beat for randoms for the first months after it was buffed the first time, and the three headed worm is still impossible to do without TS because of its mechanic and the timing. You simply can´t cater to the more hardcore players when you advertise your game as easy accessible and for it´s equal opportunities regardless if you are new or a veteran, sad but true.
Vinewrath is still pretty high in the favor of the more hardcore players, at least I would guess that because of it being a dumbed down Marionette and more hardcore people would have really loved that if it had not been open worlded.

Let me tell you a little story about how Southsun was introduced and how things work with exceptions and new cards/regions at all:

You have a bunch of guys(mostly), bugging Anet since release that the mobs are laughable and pittyful, with the exception of some mobs in Orr. Anet finally responded with the addition of Southsun, a nice but relatively small island full of hard to kill Karka, wicked AoE Lizards, a mean jumping puzzle and in the beginning, lots of possibilities to farm anything from shells to champ bags. Then the champ bags largely vanished, and so did the players. Of course they did not forget to kitten and moan how unfairly hard and time consuming Karka are and how the income does not justify the input you have to give to farming them after they have resisted(with retaliation and phases of dodging) their maximum damage/dodge tactics and made fools out of a majority of them on their way out.
As a special bonus, add Canach to this map, the orchestrator of the mad animals uprising event. Everybody and his mom now loves the rebel Canach who was the main focus of that story but hardly even appeared on the island, your own importance to put down the uprising was laughable at best. Surprisingly, most people hate Trahearne for the same reason, maybe because he was more visible in the personal story, I don´t know.

Let me tell you another story of how Drytop was created after Soutsun was largely abandoned:
Now you have a bunch of the same type of guys who have not spent a year on the hardest open map probably, maybe except for the Karka queen, and now demand stiffer competition in PvE after the upgrade of Tequatl and the three headed worm have failed to capture the favor of the raid community for being, well, open worlded. Again, Anet responds and creates Dry Top in the living story, a jump heavy map with legendary mobs that gets enlarged over the course of some months, RNG at it´s finest with insect weapons, new currencies and a system of collectible sand(Really, Anet?). Although there are more people in Drytop than in Soutsun because of the RNG mechanic, recipes and some other reasons, it noticeably dropped in favor when Silverwaste came out, dropping some of the really stupid )except for the collectible sand) stuff for a much better experience.

Tl; Dr: Even if HoT would be gargantuan and largely fantastic(which it probably won´t be), you will find people that rush it in a week an complain about it being to small.^^

I kinda agree.. Free transfers doesn’t help at all. All ot does is encourage bandwagons.

Care to elaborate? I am seriously curious about this.

Looking at recent history, I kind of watched the rise of three servers that got pushes from players in an attempt to let them rise through the ranks, Gandara, Vizuna and Vaabi.

Vizuna, who were so low on the totem pole that they often had the uncomfortable position of fighting Miller/RoF/Dzago/Ruins of Surmia, now is reaching for Gold league. On their way up, they relatively easy demolished their usual enemies. I am pretty asure that this could not be a matter of sudden rise of player quality, but quantity.

Gandara was maybe 9 months ago, bottom silver league at best and was elevated through hard work of players(guilds) and probably lots of bandwagoners into a comfortabel Gold League position. Most people thought that they would challenge SFR or at least the big 3, but that ultimately failed.

Vaabi is then and when on the rise, but is ultimately stopped at the bottom silver league most of the time by the strongest bronze servers that are stuffed into silver and the lone real silver server that has to fight them.

I guess that every succesfull rise came from guilds that were willing to fight their way to the top. So if people see how a server rises and bandwagon it until it is full, how is this any different from the top 5 reaching their current position? Gold was probably only that bloated because there was no wall to stop bandwaggoners from arriving late at the party, but now there is one.
I also admit that I have no idea from organized GvG, but isn´t that group of people the most willing to pay horrible prices to join the best servers anyway, and with them already being there, would lose nothing with this?

All I keep hearing about it is completely BS invalid excuses like:

“I don’t have enough ghold…” seriously ? W T F ? It takes half a day in silverwastes to make enough to cover highest transfer cost. For real. If you are so casual that you cant do a half a day on your day off, then do like 5 hours 1 at a time. Done and done.

“I don’t have enough money …..” again, seriously ? If you are THAT poor should you even be playing games ? G T F O and get a job ! It takes anywhere from 30-60 minutes of work for most people to transfer off, its less then going to Starbucks 3 times for lunch. Again, W T F ?

I play in Miller. We are classified as medium at the moment, and we also have bled a lot of good people recently who could not stand it anymore to be caught between the 17. and 19. place and be the plaything for the poor server that is forced to fight us with a much larger force than we can muster. This week GH drew the short straw to do battle with is, and i guess this is as much fun for us as for them I guess.

But I must say that your statement caused me to write something for the first time in this forum. Good work, dear sir!

1.
*Even if I had enough gold to plaster the way to my house with it, I would never transfer as long as a fee is involved that allows Anet to make a profit out of a situation that should have been avoided from the start with a measure in the severity of the one now taken from Anet, although I freely agree that is a bad situation for people that sincerely just want to play with their friends on their chosen server.
*If you are able to grab 1000? gems out of the silverwaste in the half of a day only, you´re a much better player than I am. Or you really have the nerve to refresh your lfg whenever a SW nears completion or has a chestfarm run over 5 hours. Or you drew the lucky straw and got a pre. Or…

2.
Have you thought about the idea that reasonable people, especially parents who have to take care of children and/or their elders, already work hard to finance trivial things like cars, houses or diapers and either don´t have the spare money or simply want to keep it for emergencies? Not everyone who does not throw money at stuff like this is poor or cheap…

3. You did not name it, but it is also a dead horse waiting to be beaten by people that like to stack on the higher servers: Server Loyality.
It´s not about server loyality, at least not for me. We´re really hard pressed to field a crew of 25 people, no matter which battleground, but I will stay on it for the reasons I stated above. I would welcome a solution for fair matchup and meaningful stuff to repopulate WVW, like leaderboards, guild recognitions and stuff like this.

TL;DR I realize we have a problem, but accusing people on T7 and lower to be responsible is as BS as saying that T1 soaked all the players by purpose.
