Wow.
Excellent organization and content. Thanks so much.
ANET should have the numbers.
Hopefully they’ll check to see if Temple is obviously queued more often.
I think we’ll see some small corrective steps taken on next weeks patch. Hopefully they don’t over correct.
At least that’s how I interpret only having server crash fixes on this weeks patch. They’re working on something (crosses fingers).
Can you bring over all of the names?
Only the top 1000 are there now, but there’s a lot more (the ones in %).
Thanks for making this website.
if u play with me ! u will get a tsip
I hope this is reportable. When I see someone offer means for voice communication. That’s the whole god kitten point of soloque that there is no advantage of voice chat and EVERYBODY is on a 100% level playground.
This is a clear example of a losing mindset.
Gain every advantage allowed in the rules.
Don’t place extra limitations on winning because YOU think it’s unfair.
It’s ANET that decides what you can and can’t do, and as long as they don’t ban or block VOIP, then you’re at a disadvantage by NOT using it.
Read the link posted above.
best advise anyone could ever give is to get rid of the thought that pops inside your head when you die that sounds something like “what a noob”
wrap your mind around the concept that other people in pvp are not stupid & some even know things you dont.
then take the word “cheap” out of your vocabulary. its a disgustingly overused word that is completely and utterly false 99% of the time when people use it.understand that everything has a counter, if you die then you simply haven’t figured out what to do when that situation comes up…or you just made a mistake.
“skill” is another word used wrong but its not an unbearable lie, it just leads people to the wrong frame of mind. “skill” is considered to be something you learn as you play the game & by playing the game you will simply get better. that is FALSE.
“skill” is and always will be a learning process that does NOT end. (id go into detail but that would require a few paragraphs & this post is long enough already^^ )learning the game is easy…. once you break free of the prison your mind has made for itself^^.
if anyone wants to learn more, this is quite literally one of the best pieces of gaming literature on the internet & will help virtually anyone who plays competitive games. (kinda long but absolutely worth reading)
Excellent read and great mindset for winning. Thanks.
Yeah, would be nice to have a category for each profession on the leaderboard page.
This doesn’t sound like a bad idea at all actually.
chill on crit sounds like it’s crazy OP.
@Lux
I agree with you on the classes. Got matched up against 5 thieves( and we didn’t even have one) and we won easily.
Some type of – re-org of teams based on whether you’ve been together the last game would be nice too. Kind of like how people get paired up in a round robin tournament. Everyone gets to play with everyone and also it would keep any syncing issues people are theorizing down to a min.
I would like to start a thread on how ANET could improve the solo queue tournies for everyone.
The two main issues in my opinion for the Solo Queue tournies:
1. Very low ranked joining who don’t even know pvp (rank 1 through 5 especially).
2. 4v5 from people leaving or deciding not to join because they don’t like the map.
My Suggestions
1. Don’t allow anyone to join Solo Queue tournies until they are at least rank 6. Perhaps even rank 10. Low ranked/Inexperienced players should have to Spvp first for a bit.
2. In Solo Queue tournies, Implement a balance feature similar to that of sPvP if there is a 1 person advantage or more.
Except instead of switching teams, the chosen person will be pushed into Spectator mode for the remainder of the game unless another opponent comes in to the game.
The system should allow the team a chance to volunteer, and then force a spectator.
In my opinion the 4v5 is the biggest issue, but super inexperienced is not good either.
What do you all think? Other suggestions would also be appreciated.

Nobody should be able to apply perma-burn or perma-poison.
Small duration nerfs are needed for the classes that can.
For sure it is a problem especially in Solo Queue. And it may not be just people leaving, but people saying NO to the tournament when the popup comes, or coming in late.
Any game that’s 4v5 (or even worse) becomes really hard to win.
My Suggestion to fix this problem:
In Solo Queue tournies, Implement a balance feature similar to that of sPvP if there is a 1 person difference or more.
Except instead of switching teams, the chosen person will be pushed into Spectator mode for the remainder of the game unless another opponent comes in to the game.
The system should allow the team a chance to volunteer, and then force a spectator.

Any weapon works great for leveling EXCEPT for axe sometimes.
Axe will often aggro the yellows with it’s bounce and then you have to fight more things.
Safe and fast is bow and bear but a little boring.
Make Heal as One a shout.
It’s never going to be a shout, if anything it’ll become a “pet” skill and er may get more of those + a trait to reduce their CDs.
PS: RaO is a “Pet” skill.
RaO doesn’t get any benefit from being a “Pet” skill tho. It doesn’t get any reductions or benefits from traits at all.
If they make Heal as One a “Pet” skill, that could work too, as long as the trait for reducing Pet skills work for it (and while they’re at it, fixing RaO to work with it too).
Making shortbow auto give torment instead of bleed would be nice.
Would help with both kiting and runners now that the distance has been nerfed to 900.
Make Heal as One a shout.
Would make Greatsword a little more viable against runners if we had Torment on Maul.
As it stands, 3 stacks of vulnerability is an inadequate replacement.
I think Maul should have gone from bleeds to Torment.
Rampage as One has a type of “Pet”.
Speed Training talent reduces pet abilities by 10% but does not affect Rampage as One. Niether does Commanding Voice (only works for F2).
What’s the point of having RaO as type “Pet” if it doesn’t benefit from any traits?
Might actually make this talent worth taking if it worked on RaO in my opinion.
Hyenas can be nice for control. They work well in conjunction with a Wolf and a Longbow.
You can 100-0 someone caught in the knockdown cycle +fear if you’re built for damage.
Start with the Hyena and use F2 as soon as it lands it’s knockdown. The 2nd Hyena will start it’s knockdown as the enemy is getting back up.
personally i think hes made some very reasonable points all 8 boons and remove all conditions isnt in line with the other skills and especially with elites like basilisk venom having such a short cooldown it really does need to be reworked.
You’re comparing an ability tied to elites that cleanses conditions (heavy in the current meta) and gives 5s of boons at max once per minute to a number of static, always on effects. All boons for 5 seconds can vary wildly from very strong to near useless, depending on the situation you use your elite in – always on effects are…always on.
Being tied to the elite means that at times, you’re blowing your elite just for a condi cleanse – maybe the elites effect won’t help much now… but it had to be done – that’s a fair tradeoff IMO.
For Thieve’s, Basilisk Venom is never blown as a fair tradeoff. The application lasts a while to be used on his next attack which could be some time later.
Not saying that means the runes are OP; just wanted to point that out.
It’s not that we don’t have 2 great heals, it’s that one of our heals sees very little use, and in addition we are the only class without a typed heal that can be traited.
I thought bringing these two together would be nice in order to make HaO a more viable selection.
It may not be the most needed change (obviously), but I thought a discussion might bring up some good ideas.
If Heal As One was made a shout type, then at least it could be traited for adding regen, and/or reduced time.
But the signet idea mentioned above where pet attacks heal, and your own attacks heal pet is interesting as well. Only problem would be it would still not see much useage in pvp or wvw in my opinion due to pet kiting.
(edited by Tracker.6483)
You are correct that opening shot only gives vulnerability to the first target with piercing arrows.
I tested this by lining up the Golems and checking the one in back that got hit also.
In my opinion, the problem with pet rezzing under water, is that the pets will continue to rez the ranger, even if they are brought to zero health.
That’s the part that seems broken to me.
Each of the other classes have signets or mantras or devices or turrets they can use for their main heal which can be modified with a class trait.
Rangers are the only class that don’t have a heal that can be traited.
One idea might be to make Heal as One a shout.
Heal as one is a bit weak compared to Troll Unguent or Healing Spring, and gets little useage making it a prime target in my opinion.
What do you all think about this idea?
Nvm. I see a they have been moved to their own sub-forum now.
Thanks.
There are STILL no patch notes in the News and Announcements forum for the 23rd. Or the hotfix(s) since.
I looked in the News and Announcements forum and the new patch notes are not listed.
The key thing to take to heart here is that rangers are not “ranged-ers”. They’re more akin to tolkien’s rangers, like Aragorn – protectors of the land, at home in the wilds. They fight with dexterity and skill, and their pet is a second pair of hands – a tank, a source of DPS, whatever you need.
Every class in GW2 has both melee and ranged weapons options., and universally melee always does more damage than ranged (due to the risk Vs reward)…
Melee does NOT universally deal more damage than ranged. You can look at the dps of our Greatsword to see that.
In the first 2 Betas, the Greatsword did quite a bit more damage and recieved a hefty nerf.
If ANET were to buff the Greatsword auto damage for us a bit again, this would allow for some decent melee damage while allowing us to pick the required 30/10 (Surv/Nat)to be tanky enough to survive in melee.
My second thought is that traits that are similar for sword and greatsword could be combined and +5% damage should be +10%.
eg.Trait for 10% damage with Greatsword now works for sword too. Cooldown for Greatsword now works for Sword too.
@Tsohg: Not MY arguement. Just waying in on the subject.
@Marza
You make some very good points in your response; specifically about dodge not queing ahead of an ability so you can dodge between the attacks.
I haven’t seen it said in that manner before and I think there is some relevance to your arguement.
ANET won’t fix being able to dodge while leaping, but perhaps making Dodge get queue priority over skill queue would do the trick better and allow dodging inbetween.
Yeah I agree with 5 stacks is a bit much, but it is an interesting idea. Some form of this idea could be nice if toned down properly.
Maybe it’s 2 stacks for instance.
Hmmm. Would be a waste of a Grandmaster talent at that point and wouldn’t get used. It already doesn’t get used much.
I think moving it to Master talent and keeping it the same would be good.
Totally agree on regen.
I like your idea for gaining unshakeable.
Some form of your idea could shore up our need for stability and replace some passive condition removal that is being complained about.
There’s some hope that a power ranger will get some love as it was mentioned in the last state of the game video.
Cross your fingers. =)
@Roy
100% agree with Lightning Reflexes.
@Peter
I personally like the sword as is. I like the leap that can keep you glued on target with the cripple. You can’t dodge while leaping, so I’d rather keep the leap.
Well when they have said its working as intended the choice is clear. Broken is your perception. Lots of ranger have great success with this weapon.
Link the place where they stated its working as intended. If I believed every person who told me some baseless fact, I would be in a cult, with 45 vacuums and a slap-chop.
I believe it was in Beta I remember it being addressed. Don’t think we’ll find a post for it now.
@Manek
As a power build with these stats, your damage will be fairly low considering how high most peoples toughness is in WvW. I feel like you need 3500 power or more with that crit rate to be felt enough by anyone other than zerk thiefs.
Just my 2copper.
@Hyjaxx – agree with Axe/Torch all the way. It really does outperform shortbow.
Thanks to BOTH of you for the theorycrafting and testing out of new ideas for the community.

How about providing Stability Power-Ups on the map that become available to channel-grab for the team?
That and less glass flooring.
The need for Stability to keep from getting Feared or knocked back off to death is a bit rediculous.
As a Ranger, stability is only available every 2 minutes which makes me rage at this map. =)
Name: Aspect of the Beast
10 pt Trait in BM. Gives a bonus to Ranger based on the type of pet stowed.
eg. +10% dmg; +200 toughness; +200 crit; +200 condition damage.
Need to implement a lock on the stow button so your pet doesn’t come out when you start combat.
1. Trait for improved Longbow range should be for both Longbow and Shortbow (Longbow goes to 1500, Shortbow goes to 1200)
2. 10 pt BM trait added. Stowing pet will provide some bonus DEPENDING on the pet stowed. You can now LOCK your pet as stowed so fighting doesn’t bring him out. You may only stow or unstow out of combat.
2A. Example: +10% damage birds, +200 toughness bears/pigs, +200 condition dmg – cats, +5% damage +100 toughness – canine.

The OP’s idea is simple and elegant and would be easy to implement for the Devs.
Adding endurance bars and vigor and abilty to dodge with us mechanics/changes would be MUCH more complicated of a fix.
Ask for simpler things like the OP and we might get someone to pay attention.
It would also be useful in WvW for helping keep the pet alive during zerg fights.
AHA! I knew there was something wrong when all I got was “pvp” armor on the editor…>_<
with -35 % condition duration (melandru runes) plus the food which gives you -40% =75 % cd duration
Melandru only gives -25% condition duration for -65% total with the food.
It’s nice for keeping your pet alive too, as your pet doesn’t die as quickly by taking your conditions if you don’t have 15 in Nature or 30 in Beast.
(edited by Tracker.6483)
I think it’s a great idea.
