You retain your stability when you cancel Death Shroud. So you can double tap the class mechanic key for a quick 3s of stability.

Boons are granted for an amount of time. It’s not a gimmick to cancel out of your Elite if you want.

This also works with going into Death Shroud as a Necro if you have it traited to give stability.

Longbow DPS should be increased ~50%.

But on track with your analysis of the bows comparative dps, I think the main problem is the animation/travel time of the longbows #1.

Speeding that up even just a bit would be a great improvement in dps, making it haarder to dodge the attack, and general liveliness of the weapon.

Longbow DPS should be increased ~50%.

I agree about the pets being fixed. But it’s not just pets, it’s the way all animals in the world fight.

In PvE, if you’re fighting a bear or moa etc, they will stop to attack and they are easily circle kited to make them miss because of this.

So it’s a game wide mechanic that needs fixing and not something only affecting our pets.

The bleeds are easy to land due the the very forgiving attack angle that is considered flanking.

Plus, having to work a LITTLE bit on positioning is what keeps the shortbow auto-attack from becoming too monotonous for me.

Sigil of Air is the best for you crit chance.

Go Sigil of Fire for pvp which does only about 70 less damage but has small AoE burst on target.

Also, if you continue attacking the called target while being attacked, the Rune of Air proc will hit your target and not the person attacking you.

You can thank your aggressor for helping to bring down the called target with a nice 2-4k proc.

You do NOT give up “tons of other stats” to get the proc and 20% chance means it procs within the first couple seconds of the fight and again near the end of the fight if it lasts 20 seconds (which many can 1v1).

You can use Lightening Sigil with these runes. This set is best used with high crit rate.

Shortbow works well with either setup.

The attack speed nerf is not THAT noticeable unless you’re using zephyr, and then I can really tell.

The two 6 seconds of immunity utils are for any burst you get trapped in between dodges/evades. Plus you have your block/knockdown and stun.

The sword mobility locking with auto attack is a pain for me, but give it a try with this build and let me know what you think. I don’t think it will tank better.

Nerva, you actually get more evasion with Greatsword because you evade on every 3rd attack in the auto-attack chain.

And while doing that you are providing AoE damage on point killing clones/phantasms/necro pets and turrets.

Thanks for the critique. Longbow could be good as a second choice for that knockback/barrage.

Also thought of axe axe for if you are bunkering against a ranged attacker; gives you a ranged attack back and the whirling defense which is great for defense and the whirl finisher to use with the water field.

I have yet to try the Spirit of Nature. Seems like an awful long cooldown for something that could die quickly on point. I like Rampage as One so I don’t get knocked around by engies, guardians and longbow rangers with dog pets.

12 seconds of damage immunity
Multiple Condition Removals for yourself and allies
Continuous regen for yourself and allies
AoE healing with heal skill and sigil proc
More dodge rolling, vigor on heal and protection on dodge roll
Evade with auto attacks with shortened cooldown on block and stun
Fear
Stability
Damage reduction at 25% health
Decent continous AoE damage on point helps destroy enemy pets/clones/phantasms/turrets

Yeah you can use F2 abilities while downed, and you can ALSO switch pets. This can be really annoying to down you in pvp.

Switch pet to wolf as soon as you’re downed and then interupt the finish.
Next, your pet is attacking and will do it’s knockdown.
When they get up hit F2 for the fear.
When they get back to you your interupt is available again.

Yes it’s definately advisable to use slows/chill or knockdowns to keep your pet on the target as they will most likely be moving.

Even ranged pets miss a lot with moving targets and will benefit from any cc greatly.

I use them both for power/crit build.

The shortbow auto does more dps than longbow due to it’s much quicker animation and firing rate, so it actually works. Using zephyr on shortbow auto is even more dps than longbow #2 on zephyr.

I use 2 dog/wolf pets and cycle to the 2nd pet pretty quickly in the fight. This usually gets me 2 knockdowns and cripples right away from the pets

I start off with Longbow #3 and #4 for a knockdown, pet now gets to them and knocks them down again while I’m zephyr dpsing with Longbow #2 – switch pets and switch to shortbow for 2 more secs of zephyr dps and another knockown from next dog pet. Poison and timely daze/stun anticipating heal.

Depending on dodges and their quick utility use for stability or immunity etc, this can sometimes completely control a target to zero.

So 1v1 Ranger is a joke

Here are some helpful tips.

1. Use 2 dog/wolf pets. (knockdown and also a cripple attack)

1a. Cycle to second pet 4 to 5 seconds seconds after fight starts (to give first pet time to apply cripple and do it’s knockdown). Then you’ll get a second cripple and 2nd knockdown very early in the fight. If you have a Longbow and shortbow, you have 3 knockdowns and 3 cripples and a daze/stun fairly quickly in the fight.

1b. When you choose to F2, move back towards your pet so the ability will either 1. affect you (in the case of regen from fern dog) or 2, affect your enemy as they will be chasing after you and you will lead them into or keep them at the F2 affect (like fear or immobilize or called hyena for another knocking down and cripple pet).

2. Channeled abilities will continue to hit invisible targets. I use Longbow #2 with quickness on them early in the fight.

3. Move away from where they go invisible – try to predict when they will attack from invis to time dodge roll, and also you shortbow #3 for distancing/evading after dodge roll.

I use Longbow/Shortbow and eat their initial attack with traited signet for 6secs of damage immunity to drain their initiative and do a longbow knockdown – followed by zephyr enhanced Longbow #3, #2 while pet is going to knock them down again. Switch pet, switch to shortbow for more zephyr dps and knockdown goodness.

Good thieves will either leave or hide and wait in stealth. If they do, Leave the area. Don’t let them start another ambush on you by sticking around if you didn’t kill them.

I play 30, 25, 0, 0, 15 with Longbow/Shortbow – squishy – but with 6 seconds of no damage and all the knockdowns and cripples – I stay up pretty well and do very nice damage.

I think haste/quickness abilities need to be nerfed to 50% bonus speed instead of 100%.

Make them last a little longer to compensate.

Signet of the Wild is active with Signet of the Beastmaster traited.

When the problems occur:
1. Signet of the Beastmaster is traited. (“Active effects of signets also affect you”).
2. Signet of the Wild utility skill has been activated by the ranger.

Bugs:
1. Cannot stomp downed enemies.
2. Cannot revive downed allies.
3. Cannot pickup environmental weapons.

In summary the interaction is not available and so you cannot click on F to do anything in PvP. Have not tested interactions in PvE.

For those that don’t like Wells. Try minions.

Bone Fiends have constant ranged dps and have a skill you can activate to imobilize for 2 secs.

Bone Minions have constant dps, and each one can be exploded for 1.5k each on target for burst called Putrid Explosion.

In VsCombo, replace the wells with 2xPutrid Explosion(can immobilize with Bone Fiend first).

You can give them +30% dmg (including your Elite minion) instead of taking shivers.

Defending nodes and auto-balance

The other issue I have with the auto balance, is that all the points you’ve accumulated seem to go away.

I’ve had 200 pts on the scoreboard and got switched over near the end of the match. At the end the scoreboard will say i’ve only gotten 10pts.

Stun breaker won’t help. You are instantly re-stunned. You need an Invuln. Like Mistform, or Elixir S.

I think they need to tone down Quickness/Haste in general. The tooltip says twice as fast, but it seems much much higher than that.

A small reduction in that speed boost will bring all the QQ burst builds in line.
