Been gone over a year and came here to see what’s up with this expansion e-mail I just received.

Doesn’t seem like much for the price, but it’s hard to say without knowing more. I was hoping you guys knew more, but I see it’s a high priced mystery to everyone.

I think part of the problem is that new players seem to get placed too highly on the MMR to start.

So when I was ranked top 200, we’d see level 5’s in the group with no clue how to play the map.

Interesting idea. I have a couple questions about your choices and why you pick them over others.

1. Why heal as one? I would think that the water field from Healing Spring would be preferred so you can blast finish for even more healing.

2. You don’t have 33% more regen time picked, or reduced shouts. What’s the regen uptime on the guard me without either of those chosen?

3. Warhorn instead of dagger. I think you should do this all the time in conjunction with Healing Spring for a blast finisher. If you interupt your first warhorn with a dodge it still blasts for healing, this way you can blast it twice.

For one, they’re talking about GS and shortbows, not longbows.

But, I run a power bunker build with GS and Longbow that actually does work, not because the damage is any good, but because the blocks, stuns, knockbacks are great for decapping and for general bunker survivability, plus the invis is a great reset when you need a breather or want to get away with a swap to greatsword and swoop.

Now intersperse all of that with dog pets and you have a lot of cc that can allow you to kill as well even with bunker damage.

What do you guys thing we should do in the meantime while we continue to work on the new server infrastructure, matchmaking, ladders, etc.?

Don’t let the game start with only 4 people.

If a person on the roster is not logged in at the end of the countdown, then hand them a loss and replace them with another person before the game starts.

Game starts when everyone has hit the ready button. Anyone who is afk and not hitting their ready button in a reasonable time should also be removed from the roster, handed a loss, and replaced with someone else before the game starts.

To re-iterate, never start a game without 5 team members hitting the ready button.

It’s not a top build.

If you want to bunker, go with the standard 10/0/30/30/0 spirits. With a swap of an amulet you can g from tanky (settlers) to more damage (carrion).

You might also try my power bunker build which is what I run with in solo Q. You bunker home and sometimes push out to support with Longbow.

The pet will normally pull all conditions to himself, but it’s not the best radius.

My understanding from some time ago was that the pulling of conditions will now always pull from you (you don’t have to be close to your pet).

There should be an assumed starting MMR based on rank.

So that the very inexperienced already start at a lower rung (<15), and the very experienced start at a higher rung (45+).

This will spread out the ranks a bit to start, but not so much that a bad lvl 50 won’t drop down quickly, and a good level 10 won’t come up. And it won’t punish the experienced players with people who have no clue.

We all come back to start at the same zilch MMR, meaning great players are matched with low level, inexperienced or bad players until wins and losses start separating the list.

Or they could remove the person from the roster who’s not on the map when the countdown gets to zero, and replace him on the team roster; start 30 seconds later with a new teammate.

But for SURE, the game should not start with an absent team member.

1. Do not let Solo Queue matches start without a full team on each side. Replace missing person on the roster before game allowed to start.

2. Payload or Double Payload game mode. Works like conquest, but while moving. 3rd point could be in the middle where the payloads pass each other and provide some benefit like faster payload movement.

3. Give us a way to earn the skins from the pve events without doing pve.

4. Spectator mode by person. Would love to watch some games by the top people in Solo Queue.

A fourth joined a few minutes into the game, but we never got our 5th.

I’ve had two Solo Queue games today that started with my team missing a person at the very beginning, and the person never showed up during the match.

It’s one thing if a person leaves or disconnects during a game, but a game should never be allowed to start lopsided.

Possible solution would be to delay game for 30 seconds, then remove the missing person from the team roster and fill in with another person in queue.

One thing is that the guard rails on the dropoff side of the map are a little too low in height.

Because the ground slopes down to it, people just go flying right over it with a knockback. Tested with Ranger longbow.

I’d like to see the glass removed by the side points.

It’s just too easy for thieves and engineers to pull the bunker off point and down the hole; usually while they are invisible.

For Ranger:

When selecting Exptertise Training, the extra condition damage does not show a damage difference on the pet’s skills.

Also, the pet’s Condition Damage attribute is not modified on the pet sheet.

If you join a sPvP match in progress, with a build that has Signets, the signet passives are not up.

At the start of a match, the Signet passives will then appear when the countdown timer starts.

It seems like somebody tried to fix the OLD bug of this by adding code to reset passives at the game start timer. So you still have to manually re-select your signets if you join an sPvP game in progress.

Tested with Ranger.

Fear Me goes on cd without causing fear.

Hitting Fear Me while getting knocked down puts Fear Me on cooldown and does not affect the enemy.

Payload Map!

If we add another game mode, I think the SAME meta should have the same effectiveness.

That way, balancing will not overly affect one game type more than another.

My idea is to have a Payload map where you have the Offense trying to escort the payload on rails across the map, and the other side is Defense trying to keep it from reaching it’s destination.

Payload only moves if nobody is defending, just like points capture based on defenders not being on the point.

This will also satisfy, to some extent, the 5v5 death match that some people would like to see.

Another option would be to have a double Payload map; one payload to escort for each side. This will allow some more strategy with how you divide your forces.

My final suggestion is that any type of ACTIVE condition removal should prevent further condition application for a short period of time (2 seconds?)

In this way you can get a breather from Fear spam to death or other lockdowns like stun with one of your precious condition removal utilities.

This would make active condition removal a little stronger, while not rewarding passive removal like that of the Ranger’s which is already strong.

I believe the main problem with condition damage is when the stacks get too high/duration is too long.

This is why I think reducing the stacks across the board in pvp only is a fairly quick/easy fix, and more easily tested than multiple tweaks across professions and talent trees.

If we can find the sweet spot and reduce accordingly condition damage can be brought in line without hitting each professions skills and talents individually.

Its not a terrible idea to be honest. But it also won’t fix whats wrong. Its not getting to 25 stacks that kills you in PvP (which normally only really happens when you get jumped in where you would die anyway) Its the constant application of it (around 8 – 15 stacks) that area constantly able to be held up along with the easy application of many other disabling conditions.

TL:DR lowering max stacks won’t actually reduce the dmg/tankiness of many of the classes that are facerolling with conditions.

I think the help will come in two ways from reducing stacks.

1. Those that can apply stacks really quickly will have their “condi burst” curtailed. I call it “burst”, because some condi builds can bring you down quicker than direct damage with quickly applied high stacks. 25 stacks of bleed can hit for 2500/sec and more all by itself.

2. The lower stack count discourages too many condition players on a team. If you have too many condition players bombing away, the stack limit will lower how much condi-burst the group can do at once.

Condi would continue to be good, just not as bursty going from 20 to only 15 stacks. Which is how it should be.

Simple fix, and testing can see the correct number (15 is my guess, but maybe 17 is better, or maybe 13).

I don’t see how you can call Maul change a buff when they change it from 6 to 8 seconds cooldown.

33% Longer cooldown between atacks for a 7% damage increase (9% with 2 more stack of invul).

Lag is also happening in sPvP (hotjoin, solo queue and team tournaments); it gets so bad that some become disconnected from the server multiple times during the match.

This MOSTLY happens on Foefire, but today it also happened to me and both teams finally disconnected from the Khylo map. The server gave a message that it was down and we couldn’t get back into the match although we were in The Mists.

A couple minutes later we all re-connected on both teams, and the server restarted the match.

The code that popped up when we tried to get back in is at the top.

Elementalist/Ranger/Engi easier to play.

Elementalists are a great example of how personal skill can make huge difference.

Great Ele’s are head and shoulders above the norm. Ele’s can be easy to play, but mastering them takes a lot of playing time.

Another idea would be to have Power provide mitigation to condition damage.

In this way, power builds could be a counter to condition builds, while the toughness of condition builds is a counter to Power builds.

I’d like more active counterplay to conditions and CC.

Tough, survivable conditions builds need have a drawback.

An idea might be that any Active condition removal also makes you invulnerable to any removed condition types for a small period of time (3 seconds?). Would have to make sure that everyone had access to Active removal (eg. Rangers).

Similarly, any stun break should make you invulnerable to stun for a short period of time.

Start with Horn/Axe – change weapons as available. You will keep up Fury and Swiftness for 30 seconds if you swap weapons on cooldown. You will drop them for all 5 seconds before being able to re-apply Horn 5.

50% bleed duration. 20% duration of other condis
73% or 68% crit chance for 30 out of every 35 seconds.

Very quick and sustained bleed stacking for heavy damage.

Many F2 abilities have a range.

When your pet has a target, it will not “waste” the F2 if it won’t hit due to being out of range.
