As you’ve noticed, the most efficient method of beating the dungeons is the zerker meta, and yes, that does tend to mean that people who play different types of builds are unwanted. That’s a deeper issue regarding game balance, I feel.
I don’t mean to be rude, but the reason why the most efficient way to beat dungeon is zerker meta is because it rely on your ability and knowledge as a player rather than your stats to survive. This is how the game should be.
If you are talking about condition, I agree the 25 cap should be per player rather than total, making condi build viable, but should never be as strong or stronger than direct damage, but would still be good in certain situation with extremely high defense (lupicus, abomination)
We seen people killing lupicus without using any dodge, just tanking and healing, while 1 mistake in in zerker meta will kill you. Of course it will take only 50 seconds to kill him, instead of 3-5 minutes since the risk of wiping is much higher.

Pugged Lvl 40 fractal, not only did guardian do an efficient and smart Aegis rotation, but also used wall efficiently. Whole fractal took about 40 minutes with mossman, Cliffside, Dredge, mai trinn (8 minute mai trinn, from trash to end )

I remember playing a game where you could mentor new players and you would both get exp/drop bonuses, it was really nice and even though some people would find a way to abuse it, I still think it would be a great way to encourage new player and veteran to pug more.

I’ll take that 100g bet. We aren’t going to ignore reports of GM impersonation and harassment. This was a case of both, and has been dealt with. These players have been actioned, one more severely than the others.

About 10 months ago, I was live streaming on twitch, and some guy started fly hacking, admitting botting and more. I reported, and sent video to support. The guy has never been banned. Which is why I don’t bother reporting anymore…

What Chris said is that selling dungeons isn’t supported and if you get kicked while trying to sell it’s your own fault. However, if someone joins the group and kicks you out of a dungeon for any reason, that should be reported just in case that same player is doing the same to a lot of people, in which cause it should be banned due to community toxicity and griefing(is that a word in english?) players.
I believe that’s what he meant.

So you’re basically saying that you have comparable customer service/in-game moderation to Nexon America…the company I absolutely abhor because they turned what was a fun and cute game (MapleStory) into a money-grubbing cow that allowed hackers and abusers to run freely for entire weeks and months.
haha nexon america… Spent 3 grants in about 8 months playing maplestory. My brother got keylogged, and since he sometime played on my account (and since maplestory didn’t have any kind of account security like google authenticator) I got hacked. When I asked for any kind of restoration, they said they don’t do this kind of stuff.
Every patch, GW2 is turning into one of those F2P nexon game.
. Having said that though, I am actually happy that communication is improving and I hope it continues. I haven’t actually caught up with all the posts in the dev tracker since there was so many today but a post in a quote led me to this thread. Once again sorry for the rant, just frustrated.
Sadly they are hearing us, giving us those politically correct answer but don’t be fooled, they aren’t listening. People spent hours and hours giving useful feedback in CDI thread, other spent hours organizing it so it would be easier to read for Dev/Mod. What did we get? more level gated content, 3 commander tag color? and more bug than fixes.
I am completely amaze at how much time and effort went into making the game worse. Good job, maybe if they Listened to the very nice suggestion people came up with, this game would be in a totally different shape.
Also, I want to rant about one more thing. WHERE IS THE BUILD TEMPLATE. Our build are already saved somewhere in a database, because if I log on my friend computer, I have the same utility/trait, which mean they could easily take 2 people, for less than a week to make a basic build template. We don’t care how awesome you want to make it, just make one already. Any dev could code that in 20 hours top.

I have to say…I am VERY disappointed in the griefing that is allowed in this game. It is like Anet went to SLEEP compared to GW1. It literally took 3 hours, hundreds of complaints and a dev in our guild coming online to get a person banned for ruining marionette for our server. This is unacceptable. Now we have a broken party system that is SO easily fixed by reinstating party leader that is unkickable, unless they DC or leave party (then it simply goes to 2d person to join party and so on), and we have all sorts of other issues that are flat out ignored by Anet staff. I want to play an Anet game, not a blizzard hostile community game.Absokittylutely.

You should be ashamed. However I did get a hammer skin recently, first skin since fractured patch.
I might say that dark souls and co are considered between the most difficult games around.
Like GW2, players finish it naked once they understand its all about Learning patterns.
It suffers the same exact problem, but dark soul is a long one player game you finish once (PvP is risible).
I very well know that, some bosses drove me mad (especially Ornstein and Smough, kittenmit).
But it’s the same thing with all repetitive content, once you know how the game is trying to kill you, you’ll counter it. In GW1 you picked skills to counter what the enemy throws at you, here it’s a mix of active defenses and needing to know when/what to dodge.

Deleting the trinity without thinking at PvE was a huge mistake.
You can have a great gameplay but if the game requires you to just rotate skills, in the end the game becomes more stale than the old school mmorpgs.
People will hate me for that but I found Dark soul combat to be worse than GW2. GW2 is fast paced, Dark soul was just very slow skill, with very long aftercast. I reached end game quiet easily, I did play a warrior though.
GW2 does have an AI, better than most game. Just look at the aggro system in GW2. The mob/boss look for people with low HP, proximity, people res’ing, high toughness, class. People think it’s random but it isn’t.
Simple example, Fighting archdiviner, one tactic is to slowly walk backward when you have aggro, while your team hit him in the back, however, if the person walking backward dodge back, he gets out of range, then archdiviner will turn around and hit everyone behind.
I’m not saying it’s perfect, but I’m telling you, 99% of the players still think it’s random aggro. Also as many people say, boss don’t have a skill rotation, they have cooldowns. If you know how long the cooldown is you can predict when he will use it again. (he might not use it right away) Also mob stop moving when they are about to use a skill, so you can see it coming even before he start it.
I just leveled my first character completely since the change, I like the whole going out to find a trait is nice. The only thing that did strike me, is being very weak ( I was a mesmer though) but it wasn’t because of trait system, I outleveled my gear too quick. When I got a new set of gear, I was strong and could steamroll through everything but after 5 levels with the same gear, I took 20-30 seconds to kill even the weakest enemy
If they really wanted to open new build for guardian they should have improve weapon that aren’t used.
Shield, torch, mace has some use but could need some improvement
Shield, lower cooldown, different effect on skill 4
Torch, skill 5 cure condition on the person using it too. Maybe faster or improved damage
Mace, sightly faster third auto attack, faster skill 2, skill 3 keep blocking when receiving projectile (like every other class, warrior offhand sword, main hand mace, ranger greatsword)

But stability works. With stability he will launch you in the air a little, but won’t move you. This attack has no casting time though. And remember you can break stun.
He doesn’t throw you to the electric field on purpose – he throws people exactly behind him, so yes, you should position better
I watched my replay and you might be right about stability, I used hallowed ground, and by the time he threw me in the air, the stability was off, so he could move me :P.
About the throwing behind though, he threw me at a 90 degree angle, but I guess if stability work I won’t have to bother with that. Thanks
With the current state of fractal, it’s easier to make legendary than farm for a specific Skin. I would also like to point out, I got my first fractal skin since Fractured after over a 120 runs above lvl 30, I got my first skin. A sweet hammer.

As an avid PvE guy, I am kinda sad with the merciful intervention change. The only time I used it was in Dredge fractal, I was able to open the second door, and teleport into the cage with me team, now that it is ground targeted, I won’t be able to
Some nice changes, but I was hoping for some stability with Tomes without a trait and something to increase the life expectancy of spirit weapons.
I am not really sure these people play guardian as they seem to ignore the real fundamental issues.
I really wish they did something for Spirit weapon survability, when I dodge, my spirit weapon should dodge/avoid damage. They have something like 15k HP at level 80, might be ok for PvP but in PvE, that often a 1-2 shot.

Really though they do need to clarify things. SEp3 is exploited by the majority of PUG groups every single day, are we going to see the majority of hte people who run that path banned? Heck SEp1 as well, how many people jump to the right at the begining?
Those are pretty clearly against the rules Chris put down, but again, they go on daily for the majority of groups from what I’ve seen.
Then there are grey area situations. Like Belka, it’s apparently ok to use the environment and it’s ok to run away from rooted enemies. But, in her case the popular place to run away gets you out of combat, which is cool, but then it also bugs her to make her stop teleporting… so…are we in the right as far as going there, but then in the wrong because it causes a bug? So in the end are we not allowed to run away?
Brie, you can fight to 50% then leave the bubble and kill all the adds while being invincible to protect the turret and then move back in for a safer kill ( no need to rush). But then apparenly if you’re downed and while downed if the terminal is killed you won’t be teleported, but then you can get back up from killinga grub… is that an exploit? Couldn’t that just be an act of desperation and happen by chance? Is the intent of using it as an exploit the bannable offense or if it just happens are you obligated to restart because you accidently exploited?
HoTW Ice Troll Safe spot… need I say more?
CoFp2 there is a safe spot during the fight before the last boss, however when you have agro there the enemies do go invulnerable, so sounds like everything is working as intended. Though the idea is that say a squishy ele can stand up there laying down massive AE damage while being completely safe as if they pull agro they can’t be hit and the enemies can be killed as soon as they agro someone else. Is that an exploit? Sounds like everything is working correctly, no abuse of mobs not going invulnerable when they can’t reach you, but still taking advantage of a spot where you can’t be attacked.
How should we go about finding out what is and isn’t an exploit Chris? The post that explained was good but there seems to still be some grey area and questions that I think should be answered. And with that some of these regularly abused exploits really need dev attention, unless banning hundreds of people for using standard strategies is something ANet wants to do.

When equipping the Eternity you will get Twilight, Sunrise, Eternity, Dawn and Dusk skins
I just want to confirm that Projectile defense does not work against his auto attack, you need to dodge it. Also if the targeted person dodge it, it will not bounce. For the wave, staying melee and dodging toward him will make you evade both hits.
It’s a good idea to bring energy sigil or vigor for this fight, as well as a condition cleanse. If you get hit by the auto attack, you will get weakened, and thus have less dodge, and get hit again. If you do get hit once, use your condi cleanse.
After beind feared, he will generally use his auto attack, when the fear end, wait 1/2 second and dodge toward him. Or you can use stability/cleanse to get rid of it.
PLease do not change Malrona, seeing people wipe there is kinda fun actually.

When she is charging with tail Up, it’s poison eat it, and 5x damage
When she is charging with tail Down, wait 1 second, and dodge toward her. No wipe guaranteed.

I’m mainly happy that we are able to weed out false information now. Like the fake ban. Before we weren’t able to tell what was true or false, and now that we have a couple devs monitoring… we at least have Anet’s side of the story (if we assume it’s true and they aren’t lying, which could be too trusting of me but whatever)
I played a game 3 years ago, every time someone would complain on the forum saying they were “auto banned wrongfully” the GM who handle the bans would post a 15 seconds video of the guy “hacking” and bust his jimmies. It was kind of fun and upsetting to see how many people lies. He would post 3-4 videos a day.
Why? Lupi can very well damage you with most of his attacks.
I was referring to the p2/p3 where he flings projectiles at a player and when stacked under him, the projectile doesn’t connect. The fact that he keeps throwing it and that it does apply conditions to allies if you happen to “evade” at the time it “connects” makes me think that the attack was actually meant to connect even in melee.
That;‘s not exploiting if using Chris definition, just a badly design move. It also remove Aegis. But the attack doesn’t connect even if you are just melee’ing off wall. So are you saying that melee’ing lupicus is an exploit.
We need to start operation convert devs to scumbag dungeon meta builds quickly.

@ Trice: are you sure that you read what I wrote? I am talking about soloing! And the the ONLY reasons why to use that safespot are these:
- no need to rely on upscaled pugs who can`t stack properly/don`t have enough dps.
- people who want to lvl up alts are not interested in paying AND do some work. Sure, that`s not work for elitist, but many pugs are just PUGS! and don`t always use correct skills to make the fight easier.
- this allows you to create the lfg post, wait for the group to fill up and pay you
…You see, in my case it`s not about beoing “unexperienced” or “uninfromed”!

Also, people don’t give enough credits to “elitist” if you come in with the right intentions they will do whatever they can to help. They spend so much time gathering information and making guides. Of course they will feel offended when someone comes in the dungeon subforum for the first time and call them out for being the bad guys.
Anyone who use this safe spot is un experienced and uninformed. Running straight in the room and killing him is 5x faster and easier. All is attack are easily evaded, you can kill him in 5-6 second without having to use FGS (you can fear him into the wall and FGS if you want), you don’t have to lure him to the corner and have him not aggro correctly, with bad camera angle.
In a berserker setup, the boss literally takes 5-6 seconds to kill without FGS. In 100% of the caes, my group kill the boss before rock start falling from the ceilling.
No worries m8 I just jumped in a pug melee only lupi with a GS mesmer, I left that one and the next pug I join is a mace/focus and hammer guardian with benevolence sigil and 12kap.

I know it’s not related to dungeons, but I think it was kind of low from ArenaNet to let the Dev blame themselves for the inactivity on the forum (saw a couple post saying it was them not having time to be active). It’s clear it was a management decision and not the Dev being too busy, and I don’t blame the devs, their hands are tied by the upper management which is made out of business man and investors rather than game developer.
I found the boss to be rather easy, even the achievements were really easy. People complain that dungeon are too easy aka, FGS in corner. Believe me, this fight was 100x easier than any dungeon speedrun. One leap, whirlind wrath on the boss, he lost 25%. Pull the mobs together with Binding blade, 2-4 hits, leap on boss, whirlind wrath. The AoE were clearly indicated on the ground, the huge one could be blocked, dodge or even jump if you had nothing.
It may be different for people with subpar gear, but I do everything on my alt account with rare/masterwork and bad runes all the time.
This is the kind of boss I like, this game combat is all about fluidity, when a mob attack you should be able to see it coming, and be able to counter play. Liadri, was also a good example. What I do not want to see, are bosses with un-blockable attack, un dodgeable attack, fast paced with no animation.
