Couple things I would like to add.
1. She will use the web spray on the person with lowest health %, always. (not very useful unless playing in a group or solo’ing with pets.
2. To successfully avoid the web spray dodging once won’t be enough, she will keep tracking you as long as she doesn’t hit something, however If you block it, it will count as if she hit something and will keep spraying in the direction she was when you blocked, this way you can sidestep while blocking the first hit.
3. Depending on the duration of the fight, you might want to lure the AoE away from her by running in the direction you want to AoE to be.
4. If you are playing in a group, you might want to interrupt the poison AoE and try to coordinate a burst, her HP is relatively low, the longer the interrupt, the better, (Bane signet 3 seconds, deep freeze 5 second)
5. Projectile destruction/reflect is very helpful to deal with leftover spider, they hit a lot when ignored. ( wall of reflection, swirling wind, magnetic aura, smoke screen.
Very nice, the extra endurance from the first shiro utility is soooo useful, however, I still think Ventari is better for lupicus, have 30 seconds or safe DPS is hard to compete with :P.
Don’t you just like when you flip to Glint and activate your Upkeep it just loook so dam cool!.
Good job Dom, really shows Revenant potential!
I should really try Lupi solo with Rev, looks like it should be pretty easy
It’s a lot of fun, I can easily see Revenant being extremely important in futur group comp.
Good access to party wide buff (perma protection, fury, swiftness) Very high uptime Projectile block, party wide ferocity buff. Extremely good Vulnerability.
Hell if Raid really are hard, 2 revenant for perma 50% + protection buffs. I don’t know how they add up but that’s crazy!
Well, I’m glad I got a spare ascended knight armor in case things turn sour…
Its all about the Celestial gear mah brothah. Time to dust off those charged quartz crystal.
This hits almost as hard as the suggested swiftness nerf some time ago.

Yeah, thanks a kittening lot EcoRI. You are no longer allowed to troll, because ArenaNet keeps kittening taking you serious.
Go start a thread in Gen Disc saying that adding more dungeons would nerf zerker. Then it might happen
so Im not the only one that is getting real scared at what fierce might say next. Seriously I dont want to blame anyone but that’s 2/2 for you fierce.

3/3 snow?? :-D
All hail the prophet!~
I rely on weapon swapping and trait swapping a hell lot playing my guardian, this might make things a hell lot more interesting, S/D ele come back~

dam, and that’s without any condi engineer!
I have a probably bad idea to help newer and scared players, what if people register as player and not team, this way we could randomly form team and put 2 head to head. Like people could register saying which class they can play, and random team would be formed. I can see 100 ways this could not work, but it would definitely attrack a new audience.
kitten people, this is not amusing,.
Omg deSade i remember a couple months back, my sister in law had been baking cake all week, leaving cake icing on the kitchen table, I would dip my finger in and eat it, until one night I dip my finger in (take a huge amount of “icing”) but it wasn’t icing, it was shortening, pure fat. I died inside and since then, I can’t eat cake icing.

How about a small buff icon that indicate which combp field you are currently standing in, this way if you use a finisher you know exactly which field you are standing in, and what the finisher is going to do. Should be fairly easy to implement.
Colin Johanson: “(….)when you finish the story version of a dungeon you unlock the explorable version of that dungeon. Those are intended to be *the super hard, very coordinated group style content like Slaver?s Exile, or Fissure of Woe, or the Underworld.”*
Pfff hahaah. Gotta admit, this guy has sense of humor. He compares the great/challenging/elaborated Gw1 dungeons to those flimsy excuses for dungeons we have now.
Just add the hard mode for dungeons (the lazy option) or close this thread.
I’m not sure what the fuzz about GW1, UW and FoW aren’t half as hard as people make it look, back in the days it was, because people had no clue how to do them efficiently but with the amount of guide available now it’s just as easy as GW2 dungeons.
haha didn’t expect you to be the mesmer, been playing mostly guardian forever, I always wanted to get into mesmer for path where mesmer is more efficient even for casual runs and video like yours really motivates me to get better!
Also thanks for the build.
very nice, the mesmer was extremely good, do you happen to know what build he was running?
Greatsword. Just pulling that out in a dungeon run is enough for a kick.
But how else am I going to knockback the mobs when they are all stacked on us
I though only objects had multiple hit boxes… and why you see it on some world bosses is because they are “objects”.
As far as I know only object bosses have multiple hitboxes, also this happens a lot on Abomination in Arah Path 2, had it happen to me again yesterday, from 8k to 23k with one hit of my whirlwind wrath.
I was finishing Brie off on guardian (she was at less than 2% health) and used Whirling Wrath one time on here. Here’s the relevant combat log entries:
You critically hit Operative Brie for 2,271 using [Whirling Wrath]
You critically hit Operative Brie for 2,271 using [Whirling Wrath]
You critically hit Operative Brie for 851 using [Whirling Wrath]
You hit Operative Brie for 1,066 using [Whirling Wrath]
You hit Operative Brie for 1,066 using [Whirling Wrath]
You critically hit Operative Brie for 6,907 using [Whirling Wrath]
You critically hit Operative Brie for 14,708 using [Whirling Wrath]
You hit Operative Brie for 698 using [Whirling Wrath]
You hit Operative Brie for 792 using [Whirling Wrath]
You hit Operative Brie for 297 using [Whirling Wrath]
You hit critically hit Operative Brie for 1,702 using [Whirling Wrath]
You hit critically hit Operative Brie for 2,673 using [Whirling Wrath]What’s the deal with so many Whirling Wrath hits? It doesn’t hit that many times does it (The tooltip says 7x)? And where did the really high 14,708 come from?
I guess I don’t understand this skill.
I always thought that was a visual glitch, https://youtu.be/edxaftoDIHE?t=2m27s look at this whirling wrath, you clearly see a going from 8k to 24k in one of the whirling wrath’kitten. Might be somethign else, but I wanted to let you know that this happens quiet often to me XD
Also, it does hit 7 times, but also shoot 7 projectiles, so in total, if you are standing inside the enemy hitbox, you will hit him 14 times.

Overall i like the patch. Its just difficult to motivate yourself to play when theres loads of bugs and big imbalances in the game at the moment.
Also, I believe that for you, the necro changes and elite specialization aren’t exactly what you would have expected, instead of working on the core problem of necro, they they tried to improve what necro already had.
But yes, they need ro rebalance bosses, not kidding AC ia probably harder than other dungeons now, and its a joke.
The patch itself is a good thing, better build synergy and everything but we really need beyter boss fight now, with more HP and or phases, I used to say I didnt want HP sponge but what we have now is just too quick, we even skip the phases of 2 of my favorite bosses (lupicus, fire shaman) easily.
Did my first FoTM 50 since the patch, got fire shaman, really unorganized group, bad comp, burned him down after his face bubble without getting one member down. Took 20 seconds.
One of my friend cough Ecori cough doesnt even want to run dungeon anymore because the patch REALLY trivialized the game, we even tanked lupicus barrage because of soothing mist, battle presence and constant regen, while all being fully berserker. But yes guard really got a huge damage buff this patch, and feel my wrath is a little too good, I think we have access to way too much quickness now.
Hello, I was wondering if any calculation were made concerning the honor trait line over radiance, a part from loosing the blinds from trash mobs, honor looks really good to me.
Better symbol uptime (more vuln, fire procs) you also get your symbolic avenger bonus 100%, you get extra healing to keep the scholar bonus.
Also the extra damage you get from symbol doesnt require you to use an extra skill ( casting time + aftercast of zealot flame ) I guess for fight that takes less than 10 seconds radiance is still a better choice, but for longer fight honor looks great.
I just want to say thank you, I had this problem a couple time and had to wait hours before it gets fixed, this fixed my problem right away.!

I said it before and ill say it again, the low interest in dungeon from the player base is solely because of the lack of support from Anet. Dungeons are a big part of MMO, but with no incentive and no support, player move to something else.
I remember when the game was new and getting exotic from dungeon felt rewarding. Now you can get the skin from pvp, or better looking skins elsewhere faster, or go for better gear (ascended)
I would like to add something for warrior, make sure he doesnt use his banners for the Alpha boss before, and make sure your ele’s rotate their lightning storms.
About the tornado, when there is 2 seconds left to your sanctuary ( or tornado ) tell the other ele so he can activate his, there is a slight delay between activation and the knockdown, I’ve seen the boss use his aoe a couple time during that short delay.
Its also very possible without using double sanctuary if you dont like that, bane signet on guardian and binding blade or mace 5 on warrrior, but you need really good dps.
(edited by Trice.4598)
Yep, people often exaggerate the gap between Berserker and other gear stats. Very often some player would be better using knight/celestial/valkyrie since they would die less often.
But in the end, Berserker is optimal, even if it only gave 5% DPS increase, some players would still use it because they can do so without dying.
I also want to point out, after 3 years, lots of players have racked up thousand of hours of gameplay, of course the content is going to be easy to them, they know everything. I played Dark soul 2 for 100 hours and found the game very casual, imagine spending 5k hours.
I’m at 173 level 50 fotm (since I started keeping track 9 months ago) without getting my dagger, I made the incinerator a while ago when I realized I was not going to get the fractal one. To me it feels like farming mobs in orr hoping to get the precursor you want.

haha, the post just before the one you linked, where you say you dont want to form any more arguments with him, I swear I made the same exact post 2 years ago except it was about Arah xD
Guys, come help:
Liadri was in the open world, not an instance. Just saying.
That’s a new low, even for our old friend here.
I’m gonna stop calling it PvF. It’s now WvV — World vs. Vayne.
He’s the reason of EVERY forum suspension I had. I bet he’s one of those extremely religious person with whom you can’t argue using logic or reason.
p.s. liadri would have been 100x better if it had been instanced, having to deal with the unoptimized flame effect and zerg causing massive lags. And lets not forget the waiting in line to fight.
The problem with Triple Trouble is that it’s an organize world event, however really hard to organize because we do not have any tool to help us. You are limited to the map limit, with people you don’t want. If it was possible for a commander with enough players in his squad (let’s say 75 people +) to create a private instance for his squad, that would help A LOT.
Wildstar looks great, never really got into it, but depending on what HoT bring as instanced content I will give it a shot.
There is also a game coming out called Skyforge that look interesting, but overall I really hope GW2 get HoT right and give us instanced contents.
Can I get a TL:DW of the video plz?
sam put around 1000 gold in the forge, finally get The legend, walk to the bank to deposit it. Goes back to the forge and get another The legend on his first forge. gg ez 2 the legend in a row.
Ok, so let’s talk about Flame Legion rune, up until now they have been considered good budget runes, but I have been thinking and watching a lot of dungeon tour/record runs recently and I would say most Ele/guard keep Scholar buff 30-60% of the times (however its very often during the initial burst) which is pretty low.
With fire changing to intensity stacking rather then duration, the Duration from Flame legion might help keep the burning uptime, also the damage from burning is very high.
Loosing the 100 ferocity will hurt but the extra burning probably cancel it out.
a lot of people missed the point, what Ecori was trying to show is, while Damage is important, support play just as big of a role if not more in a group. It’s not your traditionnal mmo support, but it’s there.
Also of course it would have been different if the whole party had barely any damage, but it wouldn’t be as bad as people may expect.
@Trice:
So i can go Beastmaster/Medic on my ranger, because there will be metas ready to carry me?
How kind of them.
Also, i know what active defense means…why do you think i’m using a Salad Dog as my staple pet in dungeons. I can’t blind as ranger and my CC’s are only good for defiance burning, so i try to do what i can.
Still end up being the only one bothering to interrupt a boss chanelling with no defiance, because #puglyfe.
sorry I wasnt really clear, what I meant was, even with different build that focus more on defense, bosses wont take much longer, and boss fight only represent a small portion of a dungeon. As an exemple, last year dnt members did a lupicus speed kill using some very niche build (healing guardian, condi ranger, etc) and were still able to defeat it under 2 monutes.
the only reason zerker meta exist is because in a almost perfect run, its faster. when a group take 15 minute to clear ac path 1, its not because of their build but rather their skills as a player.
(edited by Trice.4598)
if the difference in GW2 wouldn’t be as abysmal as zerker vs anything else.
It’s not as abysmal as people think, of course if you take the worst trait/gear possible it will be extremely terrible, but if you’re using decent setup, but keep your might at 25, keep fury up, with warrior’s banners even with knight/condi stats, fight would only last twice as long, and it would barely add 1-2 minutes to a whole dungeon path.
But I know why some people do like running other build, I would like to put on my nomads gears and tank like I used to do in other games, but in GW2 it’s more efficient to use active defenses. Here at 4:10 http://www.twitch.tv/eco_r_i/c/6652057
You can see the guardian (using a meta beserker build) tanking the butcher, which is known to be a very hard bosses for Glass canon, but with active defenses it is possible to survive the whole fight without even going down.
The zerker meta does not mean the end of tank/support, it’s about utilizing the tool we have access to in order to be as efficient as we can rather than relying HP/armor.
The old one isn’t even cold in the ground yet, and we already got another one starting
/sigh
I am starting to think its not so much the game as it is most of the people in it that I am getting tired of.
I didn’t want to but had to reply to this cancerous Nemesis video.
*You talk about Corner stacking, yet show a record run with clearly not a single Corner stack. Then you call perma CC an exploits (after complaining last year about CC not being meta). Then you call using terrain an exploits, while this being a fricking action MMO meant to use the terrain to fight.
But you didn’t stop there, you then talk about “freezing” boss while showing a boss being chained immobilize, which is using the game mechanic in a creative way instead of just tanking and spanking.
But that wasn’t enough, you show footage of YOU in a group exploiting mossman underwater (which no meta group does) then wipe countless time at the ice elemental because your team wasn’t able to provide the support a meta group does (you joined a meta group while not being meta, you deserved a kick there just for lying)
and corner stacking in aetherblade fractal.
You also claim the meta is so easy but couldn’t show a video of yourself succeeding in this so called meta.
I could keep going on but this post is already long enough.*
Everything in his video is wrong, EVERYTHING, I’m really starting to think MMO’s aren’t for me if this is the kind of people they are made for, I would really like to see how GW2 would end up if this guy was giving any kind of control on the gameplay.
Waiting at a safe range from a boss while he is stuck in combat with you and can’t hit you or reset his hp looks kinda fishy to me. Unless it is arah where designers forgot to replace placeholders with actual bosses that fight back.
Chris commented on this, he said, as long as you can’t attack the boss while being safe, it is not an exploit, he said it was bad design if the boss doesn’t reset.
However, if you are able to hit the boss from a range while the boss can’t hit you and doesn’t reset, it is an exploit.
quick someone alert Spoj I think someone just found a use for necro!
On a serious note, good find!
Everyone fell for it, good job.
fierce is so convincing that even I dont know whats real and whats not, and Im actually running dungeon with him quiet often now xD

Is my casual hotw p1 a world record?
Technically the SC one used FGS.Valid record yes. SC Fgs record is All time.
Some one should try to beat the all time, I mean given that our run was kinda sloppy and we AFK 20 seconds in the beginning, kitten food, kitten sigils and just sloppy execution, I am sure its possible to beat 4mins 8secs.
that was a smooth casual run but dam, so.much room for improvement, except the guard, he was already pretty darn amazing
Good news people, seems like they fixed the adds during the agnus fight in HoTW path 1.
I am a firm believer that the game mechanic is fine, but the boss battle aren’t in general. longer fight, with multiple phases/mechanic is what we need.
Yeah, but that’s not what people new to this game need.
I could tell endless stories about my first noob guild in this game and what we thought we’d have to do. Yeah, it was some stupid stuff.. we bought our guild leader a commander tag because he thought he could bring more people to a dungeon with that “This isn’t working, we need more people”. Yeah well, it didn’t work too well- in fact it hardly ever works well, so basically every fight has been a long battle for me and that until around last month. There is enough low difficulty content in the game to introduce new players into the game and it’s not like the vast majority of the player base now is new players. It’s been 3 years, it’s about time they start to give more content for veteran players rather than to new players. After all veteran GW2 players will probably bought more expansion than completely new players.
I totally agree with you, i understand that the majority of the game cather to the lowest denominator but we should have content for the more enthousiast players, if youre not willing to invest time and energy, you wont be able to complete it. But thats not by changing the meta or how the game work, they can do it by giving boss more hp and different phase like they already successfully done.
As much as I hate HP sponge in MMO, I believe gw2 need bosses with more HP, boss fight that end within 5-15 seconds are just too short. Or they can use multiple phases, like they did with lupicus, fire shaman, archdiviner which are interesting fight and are where bad players actually get revealed.
I mean 700k hp in a level 80 dungeon where your team can output up to 120k dps for the first few seconds just doesn’t make sense to me.
I am a firm believer that the game mechanic is fine, but the boss battle aren’t in general. longer fight, with multiple phases/mechanic is what we need.
If only Witcher 3 would release this month instead of next. :/
I was really excited when I saw I was getting a free Witcher 3 code when I bought my 980, got home, entered the code, only to see it wasn’t released yet I should have known better.
However Lupicus was nice enough to drop me another devona’s helm with strength rune, so I’m good.
(edited by Trice.4598)
I was rather surprise by how easy Lupicus is on guardian, even after the change but I guess we have it easy.
I’ve tested Sigil of air/Force with some friends on my guardian, 25 vulns, 25 might, I was able to get up to 6k hits, but it was hanging around 4-5k, you can probably go much higher than that, 8k are very probable.
The frequency at which i was getting them was rather disappointing though, an average of 4.35 second during a fight.
However the damage is very nice, it’s a nice 5-15% damage increase. I am going to compile the data and go deeper with my test.
I tend to carry specific slayer sigils for day dungeons and fractals put them on top of my undead weapon sets such as wrath, frailty, justice, mad scientists and of course undead
This is definitely the best option, however not everyone is willing to go to that extend.
Slaying sigil are usually very cheap (around 2 silvers) so changing it to run 2-3 paths of a dungeon giving you a minimum of 2-3 golds is no monetary problem.
I did hear some friends complaining about overwriting their forces sigil instead of slaying sigil though, which must be rather upsetting.
If you are maxing out Vuln, move to strength, if you’re maxing out might, you can move to air, which is a pretty nice damage boost actually, people often overlook it, but it has a very good 1.1 coefficient and proc every 3 second (can hit 6-8k when fully buffed at level 80)
