So yes, Iv’e been reading thread on the forum for the past hours and although most of thread are constructive criticism, Iv’e seen so many hate in here.
GW2 has been an incredible experience for, I have played many MMO in the past years, and none got me interested in it as much as GW2. So here’s a list of things that made me play over a thousand hours already.
-WvWvW : Never seen anything like that, I never was a PvP person but this is something I can do for hours!
-Gorgeous world : The whole world is interesting, there’s no filling, you don’t feel like they put a lake there, or trees there because they had to put something, everything is in the right place, every little detail!
-End game : How many times have I read that the game is lacking end game… it is not! First of, hunting for skins is 10x more rewarding than hunting for stats In rather have a awesome looking sword, than dealing 100 extra damage. Mastering dungeons is also very nice, at first they seems so hard but once you learn their skills, attack, it feels so rewarding. Exploring, finding all the little secrets, fractals they all make it interesting.
-Farming : In most game, to start getting money you had to get all the best gear BEFORE starting to make to money. In GW2, You don’t need the best gear to make good money, either by farming for T6, farming events, or dungeon.
-Leveling : Everything you do rewards you with EXP, crafting, dungeon, WvWvW, PvP even exploring.
-Community : I know about the whole CoF1 situation, I try to avoid these but in general, this is by far the best Iv’e seen, people pinging WP where events are happening, people reviving others everywhere, people helping each other killing stuffs, mostly because of ANet great works with the whole no KS’ing strategy. Iv’e also seen lots of people doing Mentor Run for dungeon recently, 2-3 level 80 who ran a dungeon many time, invite lower level or first timer to their run, explain the whole thing, and help with build.
TL:DR I can’t believe I’m not paying 15$ a month for this, all the free content, and the amazing game itself. I find myself getting a couple of GEMs every months even though I need nothing from the GEMs store nor do I need gold just to support them.
Thanks ANet
I have been running CoF1 for a while, and from what Iv’e seen from those leader trying to find the perfect team, and kicking anyone who make them lose a couple second ( Iv’e been in party kicking people who have Exotic accessory instead of ascended ) They don’t realize how much time they actualy loose by doing so, sometime we we’re wasting 2-4 minute between every run because, this warrior died at slave driver, or this mesmer didnt do his feedback at the right moment. It’s very annoying and no fun to me, I rather do my 10-15 mins fun run, where people don’t get kicked for typing.
Sadly they might just nerf hundred blade PvE damage, but if they do so, I hope they make it so you can move while using it. which I think would be the way to go, I’m not talking about a huge nerf, just a litttle nerf to help closing the gap.
Aeon is love Aeon is life!
But on a more serious note, we got some very talented players! It`s very fun to run with them, any dungeons/fractal, seem so easy with them :P

The only things I disagree with is the inspect, it leads to people being huge kitten over less geared peoples. I don’t want to see people getting kicked because they don’t have the specific build the leader wants. Every build are good, it all depends on the player.
I already see too many , “ping you gear” when I’m looking for a CoF party. And I hate it, I just quit these parties, even though I know I have exactly the gears they are looking for, full berserker set exotic/ascended, but I don’t like this kind of people.
It was probably the first thing that I liked about this game, is that they made it easy so be friendly, how many time have I been happy to see someone come and attack the boss I was trying to kill, that only happen in GW2, or when I am farming and I see someone come along, we don’t even need to be in a party, we just play together.
And also it’s probably the first game I play that when someone ask for help in Map chat, people actually try to help instead of bashing.
I agree with you on precursor, I think they let room for it in the future, I mean, I’d keep all the other material needed, but I’d so something special for precursor, like finishing the story + some more crafting items.
What people don’t understand is that, yes there is faster ways to get legendary, let’s say farming COF path 1, over and over, but that won’t be fun, even getting the badge of honor, Iv’e seen people creating new character over and over to be teleported by mesmer in JP for hours. But if you actualy hunt your items the way it was meant to be, by doing dungeons, daily, fight in WvWvW, explore, then your legendary will feel better, I know that because that’s how I did my mine, it was a long adventure compared to my friend who just farmed CoF to get his, but believe me, getting mine was fun.
But as I said, the precursor is the only things that bugs me, maybe at the end of the storyline we could get a Broken Precursor, that you would need to fix but throwing it in MF with other items, like 250 Ori plate, 250 Globs, and a sigil, or make it even harder I wouldn’t care, I got lucky with mine, but I know alot of people out there arn’t.
Thanks for reading
I tried every MMO out and there’s nothing that come near Guild Wars 2, people who complain about the game obviously don’t play for the good reasons. People are used to the whole grinding/farming thing. I got my legendary mostly just by doing couple of dungeon runs a day, jumping puzzle, WvWvW, pretty much a little bit of everything, sure it would of been faster to speed run COF 1 but that’s boring, and since legendary don’t have more stats, I wasn’t in a hurry to get it.
Also, the way teamwork make such a huge difference, with my regular team, we can get anything done, we know each other build and even though we have “bad class” (engineer/ranger) we still manage to go trough everything.
And last but not least, the Grandiosity of GW2, kitten I can spend hours just walking around and exploring, finding new hidden places or just admiring the great work they did.
Please ANet don’t listen to all the whiner here, and keep your good work, don’t change anything to please those who doesn’t appreciate GW2 philosophy.
Got mine yesterday and I must say, it really feel great, I rather grind for a nice looking skin than for 100 more attack that wont change anything in the end. And I got to admit, it’s a little about bragging for me. XD
I dedicate this Sunrise to Sea of Sorrows, thanks guys!!! love you from Fergusson’s crossing!

Hi first off, this is not a " it’s too hard nerf it" thread but rather, make it worth for people to do the event. I recently finished gathering my pieces for my legendary, and Iv’e been trying to get my Obsidian shards for 2 days. But nobody seems to do the event and we end up failing evertime. The problem is, people aside from those getting legendaries, have no reasons to do the event. And since it’s probably the hardest event, there’s really no reasons at all to do it.
So make it worth for everyone to do the event, not just people getting obsidian shards for legendary, add a unique item or anything.
Thanks
I’m not sure if anyone has stated it but,
I do believe WvWvW NEED to be in the map completion, it is not only extremely fun, even for people like me who doesn’t usualy like PVP, but it’s also a very important part of the game, I know how hard it can be to get your last POI when you’re in a bad world ( I’m in fergusson’s crossing ) but what I do agree with is that some POI could be moved outside some keep/castle. Getting Stonemist is nearly impossible in my world and keep are also out of reach not matter how hard we try, we are alway outnumbered.
And IMO the map completion is for people who explored/tried/visited everything
I think the problem is ArenaNet went to fast, the change between older MMO and GW2 was too much for most player, right now they are trying to fix it but they are having a pretty bad time doing so. For my part, Iv’ been playing since open beta and I enjoy the game even more everyday, me and my brothers have gotten so good, dungeon are now fun and exciting, but it take time, lots of time to adapt, more than I though, before I was able to finish most dungeon without dying. WvWvW is also very nice when you have all dungeon gear and completed the map.
The problem with most of players right now is that they think the game is over when they get to level 80 or when they get a set of crafted exotic gear because they have reached the maximum possible stats they can get.
I know it sounds crazy but monster seems to be have artificial intelligence, every time I start a leap move, the stun me, they don’t run trying to get that ranger that does the most dps, they hit what they can, instead of running in circle after that range. They gang the same player to take him down faster. It may seems annoying sometime but kitten makes the game interesting.
Ok, I understand the game mechanic, and as many other player, Iv’e played Vindictus and also Dragon Nest which had a similar gameplay, in both of them I had to keep on moving dodging attack, and check the boss/enemy to dodge the more powerful attack, it was fun and I was able to beat incredibly hard boss in duo with my brother.
Now in GW2 it just doesn’t feel right, even when I dodge, use my Aegis ( I’m a Guardian ) change weapon set to be able to block more hit, use my party buff, I still get downed.
Dodging : dodge twice every 10 seconds
Aegis : 5 Blocked hits every 30-90 seconds
Now some boss have multi hit attack which make Aegis useless, or even worst long multi hit attack, which also make dodging useless because even if you dodge, the attack is not finished and still get hit.
For almost EVERY fight in dungeon this doesn’t last 5 second, moving around the enemy doesn’t help because he still hit you when you move around him, you absolutely have to dodge or block to avoid being damage, so I just end up staying still and using my dodges every now and then, and use my aegis when he prepare a strong attack.
I know you’re going to tell me it’s my fault and I should keep on moving but really, it doesn’t make any difference, only the dodge and aegis help.
I’d say it depend on you class/Build, I am a guardian and I have alot of Regen skill, when I equip my set of healing power equip the regen doubles, even more than double actualy, and my heal pass from 8,5k to 14,3k. But really don’T stack it if you don’t have group healing/regen skill, it’S not worth the money spent I believe.
2: 1 shot insta gibbing: this is a big issue for me and probably ranks as #1 problem i have with the game right now. Idea that enemies should kill you for letting them touch you. There is no remorse, no second chances BAM dead end of story! now some like this idea because makes the game hard… however i am going to counter that with… being hard and feeling cheesey can go hand in hand. Are games are hard and feel rewarding like say Demon or Dark Souls, but the thing is…those games actually pretty good at teaching you the mistakes you’ve made. The problem with GW2 is that you die so fast, and so quickly that you dont have time to consider what you did wrong. red circles appear so fast and give a fraction of a second to respond, sometimes even hitting you with a CC effect moment it shows up so you cant avoid it. Idea that you should be punished for messing up is FINE! idea you should INSTANTLY die for making a mistake in early content is BAD! you need to ease players into the game, or have multiple difficulties, allow players to understand what they did wrong by giving them 3-4 or even 5 mistakes before killing them. Is biggest issue with GW2 right now, insta gibbing from certain specific attacks that have a long wind up is fine, like unblockables in tekken! if you get hit by one you deserved it! but in GW2…pretty much every attack in game will slaughter you instantly.
Are you gearing glass cannon? Gearing for survival and using utility skills that help keep you alive makes a huge difference.
The very first time I stepped into a dungeon I was a straight glass cannon build. I’ve since switched over to a lot more toughness and vitality and it makes a huge difference and allows me to be able to react and not die instantly.
Just checking/offering a suggestion.
I believe that’s what he was talking of in his first point, sure switching to toughness and vitality will help you, but it still mean we have change our build for a dungeon build which doesn’t match how Anet wanted it to be. Anybody with any build was suppose to be as useful as other. And just as the thread starter said, the Holy trinity isn’t gone it changed that’s all.
Other may say it’s all about strategy, true but I wish I could use my berserker 2Handed sword set instead of vit/toughness hammer set in dungeon but me and my team will just get wipe by monster in 2 seconds.
First of all i want say i enjoy Challange or even hard content.
BUT.
Imagine you are not done any of these instances in beta. You have 2 professions. And your wallet is empty. You are entering dungeon for first time. You dedicate 2 hours for dungeon (Wich is a lot of time kids! Some have to work for living too not just play GW2). You are doing and learning this dungeon by dieing alot wich is understandable. You have now advanced to half of the instance bosses dropped couble of whites and from chest you got 1 green and 1blue. Only the other one was useable and had same skin than your last weapon. Its been 1hour and 30minutes, you are broke cuz your repairs cost a lot of silver.
So how rewarding you feel after this? You have to quit not because you are almost out of time but also broke cuz repairs and can’t afford it. You got one item that sells for 1 silver and one upgrade, whit same old ball mace skin. I didn’t feel like rewarded. This all just happened me today.
Id play Dark souls insted of GW2 for challange and rewards anytime.
I dont like the holy trinity myself thats why i have my hopes up for Anet.
You people here are telling in PvE and PvP we should use this and that skillbuild. Dont you remember what has been stated? Anyone should be able to play the way they like it!You denying me to use sword instead of hammer because guardians hammer skills are much more protective ? So we alraedy are going to the direction this is PvP Trait tree and this one PvE trait tree. Next we develop Tank traits, heal traits… You see where im going? Anet did not develop it this way, thats what i think. If they so did! It might not be the game for me.
I love freedom to CHOOSE what i want play and be! If it once again goes to this: You can’t complete this dungeon because your traits are wrong and not suitable to do this. Im out. Might aswell just sit in WvW and forget anything else.
Mad Finn has spoken, now let the kittenstorm begin!
P.s Sorry typos and such, grammar nazis leave me alone.
I’m surprise nobody quoted this guy, I never though about it but what he said is extremely true. GW2 removed the holy trinity so that anyone with any class/build/preference could join a party and be useful. But with the current mechanic, I had to change my build and so did my brothers to be able to beat dungeon easier, and I know many other did, I liked my PVE build, skill we’re funnier and my weapon looked better, now I’m using a Hammer on my guardian, my brother use water with his ele, even though he’s more of a earth liker.
I know we could still beat dungeon before we changed, but it was extremely hard and time consuming.
I wish we could just do it as easily with our weapon/class/build preference.
They got rid of Holy Trinity but people still have to adapt to the dungeon they are fighting and most of time it mean changing weapon/build
