Actually, better tutorial is a great idea, the average player in GW2 is extremely bad. Event like the Marionette was suppose to be something relatively easy, yet it kept failing, same goes for the knight’s in LA. I swear about 3/4 of the players got pulled EVERY TIME by the huge telegraphed and easily dodge-able attack.
In the first month of GW2 making karma was hell (only from events), people still managed to get 1mil karma necessary for their legendaries. Then everything started giving Karma (dailies, dungeons, FoTM) getting 1mil karma was a matter of days. So people who farmed events for weeks got screwed, but that didn’t mean the change to karma was bad.
It is hell now though… For a sole reason of people complaining they had too much of it…
And this my friend is the reason we can’t have anything nice. #LegendaryWardrobe2014Remember #Never5get
I still think any items in the game should be in the wardrobe, as if we consider every player, than any weapon or armors may be hard earned. I said and alot said, it’s impossible to satisfy everyone, enjoy the change. Conpensation could always be a more then appreciated gift for those that have duplicates, that is if ANet desired. I’d surely like my T3s refund, but I don’t want others to lose from this feature in exchange for myself.
This is not feudal Japan. In the end, a game is a paid service. Compensation is not a GIFT, they are completely different by definition. People are not LOSING this feature if not implemented, as it does not even exist yet. Any company operating on reasonable business ethics will take the concerns of customers seriously, as this results in better products, and continued business. This is not an issue of failing to satisfy, this is an issue of changes effecting consumers in a potentially negative way.
People are giving valid reasons as to why THIS change may not be the best way to address the ROOT problem, which is the purpose of change to begin with. This is why there is a feedback thread. If this change negatively effects even a small part of the player base, that does not make the issue any less important. Games and companies for that matter, don’t lose all their consumers at once, it happens in tiny chunks of “less important” people. Surely, if you just ignore concerns for the sake of progression, it will do much more harm than good.
It does not, all this would bring is advantages. Some people could have save gold by getting only one and skinning the second, but this change doesn’t have any negative feedback by itself. Some people’s ego is getting hurt, but that’s because of their pessimist perception of things.
Skins should be for yourself, not for bragging. You farmed, hunted or paid 2-3k for something you wanted on your character. Making it more accessible should make you happier since it’ll be easier for you to get more!
I can’t believe people are still arguing for this. This is a blessing, no matter if you had 2 incinerator or bolt, doesn’t mean you’re not going to benefice from this. I have a friend who made 2 Greatswords because he needed different sigil, I can guaranteed he didn’t even care about the fact he could have save 2k gold, all he though about was how nice this was going to be.
This is not about making legendaries more available it’s about making EVERYONE’s life easier.
This is the Flamekissed situation ALL OVER again, just because 10 kittened off kid wasted a couple gold we are going to loose something nice. Think about it, is it worth sacrificing this feature for 2-3k gold?
From what Iv’e experienced, good mesmer have the upper hand, guardian are slow and rely on gap closer to get closer. Good mesmer will use illusion, and will make you loose target easily which make it hard to use gap closer.
And yes, Bunker Retal guardian is a good counter to mesmer, but not always good enough.
About thief, I think DPS guard is a very nice counter to thieves, it’s the class I have less diffculty killing but, maybe it’s only because there is a lot of bad thieves.
The majority of players will welcome this change which is all that matters really.
I have a bolt , inci, sunrise and minstrel , working on the juggernaut needless to say i have spent a lot of hrs crafting them so there is no reason i should NOT be able to enjoy them on all my toons , absolutely none.
Not all of us have the time to do 10 map completions just to make duplicates for our different toons ( some of us do have jobs and a life as crazy as that must sound ) so great stuff Anet you’re making 99% of your community happy with this upcoming change.
Your signature is “That one Blue Hair thief with Bolt and Incinerator.” You obviously understand the prestige and work associated with dual wielding legendaries. You chose to make two unique skins, whereas we chose to make two identical ones. Now, because of that choice, we will visually be identical to any single Incinerator thief or elementalist despite putting in twice as much time and effort.
I don’t understand why your tone is so snarky. I have two legendaries: both are Incinerators, and I would like that to remain unique as it is the goal I worked for. You chose to make five unique legendaries. The situation is different.
i don’t care for dual wielding my inci or bolt , all i care about is being able to use my legendaries on all my toons , to be honest legendaries should have been account bound from the get go, they take a lot of work.
I agree that legendaries should be account bound. I don’t agree that people with one one-hander should be able to wield two of them.
That’s an extremely selfish way to see things. You’re seeing it all wrong, think about all you will gain with this patch rather than what you’re loosing. You will be able to wear next legendaries on all your character. You will be able to use dual wielding on another class. Anet is not going to make some special rule, if people arn’t happy they will just remove the Legendaries from wardrobe, making EVERYONE unhappy. (except maybe 2-3 marginals selfish individual)
Seriously, I can’t help but feel extremely bad at those who made 2 incinerators for example. 500 hours wasted!
why ??
2 incinerators or 2 bolts, You can add infusions to both ( unable to with exotic)
No stat switching. Not best in class ( what if they change to a higher stat per legendary )
Just a skin that’s all.
1 incinerator + 1 incinerator ascended – currently the best you can get, and identical for now.
1 bolt + 1 bolt ascended – current the best you can get, and identical for now.
“For now” are the key words, the main reason I decided to grind for legendaries was the security that comes from the Best in Slot. I can switch my build for WvW whenever I want or even boss like tequalt where my Berzerker stats are useless. Legendaries still have their advantages. Every ascended weapon takes 75? gold or so, along with 1-2 hours of farming for the Dragonite/Empyreal for something that could easily become useless in a future update.
Eventually ANet is going to release a new tier, or even raise the level cap, those with legendaries won’t have to bother upgrading.
(edited by Trice.4598)
This is too much work for a problem with a simple solution.
The right answer to this problem is unbinding the doubles/triples. This way Anet offer people with more than one of the same legendary the opportunity to sell or keep them if they like the whole “stat switch”
Once again, there is more to gain than there is to loose, don`t make Anet back off on something great.
That solution works but it doesn’t address the fact that everyone and the their grandma’s dog will be running legendaries. There will be nothing to separate real legendaries from copies.
I have a problem with Part 1, a skin has particle effects, I assume you accounted for that. An incinerator spits out fire, normal. But ONLY the mainhand would show footprints. What would this be if you keep the copy on your offhand? The fire will still spit as removing particle effects entirely from a Sunrise or Twilight would just make it a Scarlet’s Rainbow look on the blade?
I’m not too familiar with all the special effects that come with each legendary so I apologize for that. Anet doesn’t have to take away all the special effects of a legendary (such as weapon trail on Sunrise/Twilight or special projectiles on Dreamer).
Wardrobe copies of incinerator will still maintain its “spit out fire” effect but will not provide footprints. Real incinerators will provide footprints regardless if it is on the main-hand or offhand. Dual wielding real incinerators will give an enhanced effect.
I know what you mean, but all these people running around with legendaries worked for it, whatever they are using it on their warrior, or guardian, they still worked for it.
A lot of people with legendaries don’t like playing alt because they invested so much time on their skins. the only difference now is we`re going to see them with their legendaries on different classes, but it`s still only 1 person.
I hope people realize that doesn`t mean more people will be running around with legendaries, it`s the same amount only on different toons wielding them.
(edited by Trice.4598)
A lot of people are concerned about legendaries no longer being special. A lot of people feel cheated for making 2 of the same legendaries. Here is a proposal that may or may not address the issues:
Part 1: My solution to legendaries is to allow them to be in the wardrobe. HOWEVER, copies of the legendary will NOT provide an aura or footprints. They will still have the weapon trail or special projectile. . If anet wishes to do so, they can even go as far as taking away the weapon trail and special projectiles so you are left with nothing more than just a simple weapon skin.
This solution allows people to tell if you are holding a real legendary or simply a copy. You can still feel special knowing you are holding a crafted legendary vs. a copy. This solution also benefits people who have made the same legendary twice but are using then on different toons. It will also provide an incentive to crafting a duplicate legendary vs. simply making a wadrobe copy.
Part 2: Addition to part one (above) , people dual wielding the same legendary on a single toon will have an enhanced/larger aura/footprints (similar to how Eternity users get a larger aura & bigger footprint, dual wielders).
This basically sets up 3 categories of dual wielders
1) People dual wielding wardrobe copies = have no aura or footprints = lulz
2) People wielding 1 real legendary and 1 copy = normal current special effects
3) People dual wielding 2 real legendaries = enhanced special effects that sets them apartPlease comment on my proposal. It seems to address a majority of the concerns that people have over legendaries and it avoids dealing with reimbursements/refunds which may be unfair to certain people.
This is too much work for a problem with a simple solution.
The right answer to this problem is unbinding the doubles/triples. This way Anet offer people with more than one of the same legendary the opportunity to sell or keep them if they like the whole “stat switch”

I think most of you need to stop thinking about the lost and see what there is to gain.
I know many people with 2-3 of the same legendaries who are really happy about the patcch. Because there is more to gain than to loose. I hate having to use my ugly exotic sword for arah, because I need a different sigil. If I want to play my asura warrior, I have to use this ugly skin again, because grinding another Eternity is too much of an hassle.
I know it sucks for people who made twice the same weapon but this is a very nice update, it should have been here since the beginning.
I really hope people with multiple time the same weapon could get some kind of compensation, like unbinding their doubles (allowing them to sell one) and I have faith in Anet.
I understand the hostility about skipping.
Short story, In the first week of GW2, I was farming TA with my friends, killing every mobs because that’s all we knew. Then one day we were missing 1-2 players and decided to PUG. So this comes in and tell us were going to be skipping. What a mess is was, my friends and I were getting kittened off. “Why the kitten should we waste time trying to skip when killing is much faster” we thought.
Now I find skipping to be more fun and unless you have a thief, skipping require more skills than killing in 90% of the situation.
Also it has been said many time, but some skipping are actually meant to be. In arah you often see “patrol” sure you can kill those and move forward, or you can wait and hog the wall or part where there is just a ridiculous amount of mos that arn`t meant to be killed. Also Guild wars 2 has the best dungeon reward system I`ve seen yet, how many have a ran the same kitten dungeon to finally get the shield I was hoping for, just to get it stolen (rolled higher than me) by a mage that doesn`t have any use for it. At least in GW2 I get token i can exchange for the piece of gear I want.
The only way I can see trash being worth killing is if Anet implemented a point system that reward bonus drop/exp at the end depending on the point you accumulate killing mobs.
Virtues: Purity of Body – Resolve’s passive effects increase endurance regeneration by 15%
I just don’t feel 15% is all that noticeable. I believe the intent was to share it with allies, but that would require another grand-master trait (battle presence) just to function. Even then it is based off of the passive effect of the virtue, so does it stop when on cool down? I don’t know, and maybe I have it all wrong but this trait has all the trimmings of an adept or minor level trait to me.
Well those are my takes. Honestly the only two I can’t think of a use for are Amplified Wrath and especially Purity of Body. There are burn aficionados out there who will pick up the AW and play with it. Removing 50% endurance regeneration at the minor adept level, and compensating with 15% when not on cool-down at a grand-master tier is simply… Oh well.
Share your thoughts! What will you be trying and how?
This one is a no brainer… instead of going 30 in Virtue, you can just put 5 in honor and get vigor ~50% up time ( more of less depending on boon duration and you need to crit on something to get it )
Also what Anet doesn’t seem to realize while trying to buff Fire build, is that fire only stack in duration, not intensity, which make it rather useless in a party comp. They should really consider giving us another condition that does stack, create a new one perhaps some kind of holy fire that only guardian has access to.
Well, I agree animation need to be tone down, at least for other players.
But comparing with Dark souls was wrong. first, the size of the boss, second, it was a party boss vs a solo. Boss like Lupicus Giganticus have stronger cue since they are bigger.
World boss are a mess, I really appreciate the fact that they changed the AoE to those big orange circle it makes it a lot easier to see. You can’t really have 100 peoples attacking the same boss with hundred of different skill and expect to see clearly.
that was beautiful, also a lot faster than I would have expected. You even kill everything!
Asking in map chat for help always worked for me, and I’m in a very low pop server (fergusson’s crossing) some other people in the map may have skipped it or know how annoying it was and will offer help in 99% o the case.
I’m not sure what you guys are talking about, pugging arah is nice.
1. Post for DPS exp only
2. Party fill up quick
3. Wait for PUG’s to die
4. Solo
I had 2 odd experiences where my party got mad at me solo’ing lupicus because they wanted to participated and kicked me (sorry if you can’t kittening dodge lupicus kick)
Tons of protection, tons of regen, tons of dodge rolls, tons of healing. Try playing bunker and you’ll understand how tanky a guardian can be. Like styx.7294 said, it would be bad for the balance, since the bunker build will be super duper tanky.
DPS guardian sacrifices too much of its tankiness that IMO, not worth it. You can observe this chart made by fadeaway.2807: http://s27.postimg.org/nf571pco3/guarddps.jpg
Big problem with guardian is that you have to sacrifice everything to be efficient.
Also our buff are low duration but party wide, which is good for party but individually doesn’t help so much (such as 4 second protection, 3 second stability).
If we go DPS, our HP pool is so low that 1 mistake will most likely kill you. When you go Tank, you have no condition to back you up and your damage output is ridiculously low. I do agree that a 3000-4000 HP boost would be welcome.
However, guardian are in a very good place right now, and have nice damage mitigation that greatly help party but require a lot of timing with Aegis, condi cleanse and reflection
Torch is an off hand only weapon, the fact that it’s got footstep is already a bonus, shield/minstrel don’t get that bonus. Weapon like sword can be used as main hand weapon, hence why they have footstep even as off hand.
I agree with the aegis shield blocking effects, I have shield/focus/torch and all of them get really messed up by the aegis effect. And the skill effect change would be really nice too.
Lol if you cant build up 25 stacks of anything on your warrior your not doing your job thats a L2p issue Nike.,
You should really re-evaluate your knowledge of the game. Also you obviously have no clue who Nike is, and if you do and still call him out, you have a serious problem.
Everything he stated has been tested in every situation possible by many players, this is not a “spreadsheet” build, it’s what work the best.
(edited by Trice.4598)
It does count for 3 on the achievement. And no matter if one is soulbound one isn’t, the Eternity will be “soulbind on use” so you can sell it or put it on another character.
The shield itself is extremely well designed and good looking however, as many others have already stated, you will not be using shield as a guardian, except in very rare pvp and WvW. I don’t exactly regret making it because it’s a beautiful piece of art but I should have made more useful weapon first.
I wish Anet would take 15 mins and rethink the shield, the current one can be easily replace by more effective utilities which render it useless (hammer auto attack for protection 100% up time and Reflective wall/Shield of the avenger for the projectiles)
I never sold a legendary so I don’t know how hard it is to sell them in TP but don’t be too hasty if you sell it, it might take a while (2-3 weeks) if someone undercut you.
(edited by Trice.4598)
you will be able to use 2 differents swapping sigil, before only one of them would work.
Let’s say you had energy and battle, only energy would work, now both will. But if you put 2 times the same sigil, you will only get the buff once and not twice.
The thread was move to the void, where the light can;t reach it.
This only show that Berzerker stats are not the problem. The problem is everyone not willing to learn every boss mechanic so they can sacrifice their defense stats. This is video is only to show every who thing that “If I use PVT or Knight I still get 1/2 hko” which is obviously false.
PVT and Knight will ALWAY be more forgiving while Berzerker if you correctly will make everything faster but will be a lot less forgiving if you make.
You guys clearly miss the point where this game is an action MMO which mean once you get the fight mechanic and your character mechanic figured out, you can sacrifice your defense stats for more power.
Once again people think that all we do it DPS down the boss while hoping not to get kill. This is why so any PuGs fail at using our tactics and die at boss like Alpha, Spider Queen, Alphard, Destroyer of world, Lupicus.
You base your assumption on speedrun record video with perfect team comp and coordination. You are so wrong on so many levels it’s not even fun anymore. There’s a reason why hardcore guild have limited amount of players, because most players have yet to master simple game mechanic as Alphard or Lupicus.
All of you who complain that Berzerker stats should be nerf are just too bad or slow mentally to play Berzerker and that we can clear thing faster by using our talent instead of camping scepter as a AH Guardian or Rifle as a Shout Heal Warrior. Learn to play or deal with it.
(edited by Trice.4598)
The way this game handle SLI and CrossFire is terrible, with a setup like that you should be getting much better performance. Just a comparison, my cheap 7870 OC’ed x2 (crossfire) gets me a 25-40 with everything ultra in Lion’s arch. You should be getting into the 100 with what you got.
At one point in 1 vs 1 you will hit a wall, some classes like Spirit Ranger and Mesmer will be able to successfully kite you will dealing considerable damage you. It’s not a Learn to play problem but more of a class advantage. I’m talking about same skill level from both player. While this is true, you will have advantage over Warrior and thief.
Again this is talking about same skill level player in a 1 vs 1.
http://dulfy.net/2013/12/12/gw2-ascended-armor-stats/ this help with seeing the stats difference, the difference is about 5% in most cases. But it can probably reach something like 10% once you fully upgrade them with Versatile mighty/precise infusion.
I’d say slowly work toward it on your main. If you don’t have a main, don’t bother until they come out with a different way to get them.
As for zerker getting “fixed” I wouldn’t base my assumption on that. I still think Zerker will stay as the meta even after they try to fix it, but if you’re scared you can wait until they give more information.
People complaining about “we don’t want the holy trinity” but they got the same failure system, just with another name. Right now zerkers don’t want Rangers or Necros or even Engineers in their zerker groups. That’s the same problem as we had with the trinity, where you needed an specific proffesion. Now the people needs warriors, guardians or mesmers, and will kick out other proffesions.
Isn’t that the same problem?
I agree but the problem with class like ranger/necro/engie is not the classs itself, it’s that most PuGs will gear/trait for in a way they don’t contribute to the party. I.E. Ranger not using Spotter/Frost Spirit (or using it but at 1500 range with a bow) Engie not stacking vulnerability, Tank necro that doesn’t help the party. These 3 classes can be useful if they use the right build, heck, my daily tour group often have a Necro (using Spoj build) and a Ranger (using brazil’s) and we manage to get insanely good time. (5-6 mins SE p1/3, 10-12 mins AC 1/3 and 8-10 mins AC2, Etc.) we only have 1 warrior 1 guardian, no mesmer :P.
- The dungeons are way too much exploiteable, get a group of hardcore testers and make them test the dungeon before it goes live. I bet they can find a lot of fails.
What would they do with all those testers without any programmers/designers?Well, beta-testers can work in different ways. I’ve been doing it myself in a couple of games before.
1: By double checking –
With this approach, the programmers create some content and ship it in a beta client. The group of testers try it hard and fills a list with specific information of the bugs/exploits/problems of the tested content and send it to the programmers. The programmers fix everything and ship another beta client to those same testers and 2-3 new testers (new perspective). If there is not bugs, the content is ready to go live, if we find any big bug/exploit, the content is yet delayed to a 3rd beta client after the proper fix.
2: By working together with the programmers. Often i was playing with a Dev (years ago) where he could just get inside my dungeon and trigger specific events or stop some others on the fly. As example it could freeze a boos and make him inmune to hits, or give any possible buff/condition to the enemy. That way we as a duo tested so many possible strategies of what could happen if a boss is rooted near a corner, or trying to exploit the boss by having him perma-stunned or even perma-slowed to make kiting enemies easier while aggro was controlled. That gave that dev really accurate info about the fight, despite that he created it. The dev couldn’t know what i’d try in next attempt, that’s why he needed someone else for his tests, and I was always giving really weird strategies to try. Why did it work? because those “weird” strategies were never in the table, the dev was naive thinking that a player wouldn’t even try something like that. A fix was provided before someone tried it on live.
I think he meant that GW2 does not have Dungeons programmer/designer since Robert Hrouda left. The whole dungeon aspect of the game has been left to rot in the past months with no feedback from developers, only moderator visit the subforum to remove post asking for answer/suggestion/etc.
This come from the problem they have with projectiles. Sadly 3rd AA of sword is a triple projectile attack, which make it buggy against almost every structure, sometime it will go off 3 time in a row without hitting anything.
For any boss with reflect and structure stick to Greatsword for now.
The WHOLE idea behind Action MMO is that you don’t HAVE to tank the damage as you can mitigate them, which mean once you have learned the boss mechanic, you team Skill composition, you DON’T HAVE to take the hit, which mean you can sacrifice your defense gear for more DPS gear, changing this in any way is wrong.
The big problem with having boss’es with complex mechanic and better AI is that this is a MMO not a PS4 game that you finish once and never play again. You are going to redo everything hundreds of time in Guild Wars 2, kill the same boss hundred of times, that’s why people come up with tactic that work 99% of the time. This way we regularize the runs, it’s the only way people are going to repeat the content over and over. What happen when boss mechanic get complicated, people just won’t repeat them, look at TA aether path, it’s probably one of the most profitable path, and takes 25 mins with my group, but people don’t bother because the ooze part is random (tactic involve but things can go wrong at any time) and the last boss is a mess for most PuGs.
Some skip are indeed intended, I’m not sure which one but a Dev replied in a thread that one of the part was meant to be skipped.
also skipping may be faster, but in most case it’s not any easier, every time PuGs players are unable to skip in Arah and we end up 2-3 manning boss to pop a waypoint.
OP. Since 5 points for vigor on crit is an immense quality of life improvement and seeing as you put 20/25/0/0/25 first and 20/30/0/10/10 second, how would 25/30/0/5/10 work? Assuming I don’t care for retreat cd. I’ll do the math myself but I was kinda hoping you already did it. I expect it to be between them, below the first and above the second.
It would indeed go second but you must consider the viability of the build. I’d go and also say that 20/30/0/10/10 is hardly viable.
25 is Zeal is a really low DPS increase that I would not consider. If you are to put 20, you must consider using Greatsword as main DPS so the 30 in Radiance is also not the best investment along with the 15 in Zeal which will shine in Hammer perma protection build (15/15/0/20/10 with 10 point left) but with Greatsword – Sw/Fc it won’t help much with vuln.
I’d say overall your idea is not bad but you are sacrificing a lot of quality of life for low DPS increase. I’d still go 10/30/0/5/25, you get the vigor, access to more condi cleanse, about 4-5% Damage increase (which cover the 5% GS lost in zeal) from 25 in virtue along with faster recharge/longer boon duration and you get back the 30 in radiance for crit chance while Auto attacking with Sword.
Also the chart did not consider unscathed contender which is nice when fight don’t require the condi cleanse. There is a good amount of fight where I can keep it up for more than half the fight. (CoE, AC, TA, and probably more)

Oh sorry wrong vid, i wasnt talking about smashing 2, i was mean that one;
I’m sorry to burst your bubble, but all I see there is a huge health pool dragon I’d even go and compare it to tequalt, there is much more involve in tequalt than a group spamming 1, but half the Zerg is not willing to learn and let the dedicated people do the hard job.
There is a lot of good boss fight in GW2, sadly most of them don’t last very long and to make them interesting most people have to solo them. Boss like Giganticus Lupicus where movement and placement is crucial but then again, with a full party can be downed before even causing a threat with a good party.
On the other end I fully agree with the fact that the main threat in GW2 is not exploited as it should. Fight like Zaithan, Shadow Behemoth, Shatterer, Jormag could be a lot better.
I played Vindictus and liked it, but the rooting for a combat MMO (just like Tera) is kind of turn off for me now that I played GW2. Vindictus was more like Dragon Nest for me, instanced/gender locked, it could have been a really great game if it wasn’t for these 2.
(edited by Trice.4598)
This is useful, thanks.
I’ve never tried to look closely into DPS guardian, because in my opinion the damage is not worth the sacrificed tankiness, not only EHP but traits too. In my eyes, this spreadsheet supports that thought. Am I reading it incorrectly or missing something?
AH build using knights/soldier or other think rely on Heal/HP/Armor to mitigate damage.
A DPS build like the top one rely on Reflects/Projectile Absorb/Aegis/Weakness/Protection/Blind
It’s a totally different gameplay and is much more punishing but once you get the hang of it, you can survive just as easily with all the DPS bonus.
Don’t worry about being ‘bad’ you’re not being bad, you’re learning right now. For the nightmare end, your main damage mitigation will be the blinds. Don’t spam, use them whenever the mobs is going to attack you. Focus #4, F1, Sword #2, GS #3, make sure you pull them together to blind them all at the same time. You can also use wall against some of the mobs, which you wouldn’t be using with PoV, Shield of the avenger is there is alot of projectile and wall isn’t enough.
About what swiftpaw said, it’s really important to not waste your condi removal, same goes for aegis.
We have all been there, but believe me in the end I feel like this has more survability than a AH build with zerker gear.
You’ll realize that using a shout to remove a condition and not for its boons is wasting the shout potential (I.E. using retreat to remove condi instead of using it to block an important attack) Your main concern right now is the way you used to survive in a combat have all been changed, instead of healing you have blinds, instead of boons you have reflects, your conditions are now removed in a bunch instead of 1 at a time.

This is how I do it. My advertisement is usually along the lines of:
Zerk Gear + melee only- Scholar preferred -Gear checking- Touring multi dungeons.
…
Sometimes I wish I was on NA just to see this happen. Swiftpaw in action at party-making must be epic
Card used to make the best one. R.I.P. CoF P1
And as for the Scale Venom, sorry god of dungeons. How dare I blaspheme .
That’s kind of a kitten thing to say. You asked a question and I answered it. Perhaps in the 40’s skale venom isn’t really better than potions, but I found in the 60’s and 70’s having perma weakness perma protection was the difference between life and death.
Since the 60’s and 70’s aren’t accessible anymore what used to be good isn’t as relevant as what currently is the best.
It is a really good potion for lvl 40’s, boss like Mossman/legendary archdiviner have strong fast auto attack, even with aegis you will end up dodging alot and still getting hit, while you can survive, being able to tank 2-3 hits help maintaining the DPS. It’s good for any boss with a fast auto attack that does considerable damage.
I.E. At Lvl 49, mossman will most likely one hit me on my guardian with 12k HP, but will only hit me for 3-4k if I keep protection up with weakness, which mean we can stay in place with wall and just keep the DPS up.
As a Arah seller, I had friend making proxy party (make a fake party and advertise in the lfg tool) and sending only legit buyer to me, this way if someone was going to destroy the instance, he only merge a fake party and mine stay intact. But if you are truly looking for people and need the LFG tool to find people, no there is not.
What I meant was that the exploit itself shouldn’t be usable if there is less than 2 slot open: otherwise, how could some1 protect itself from it? (wouldn’t be impossible to sell Arah if sellers didn’t find a way to prevent that?)
It’s a really serious overlook of the LFG tool. Countless hours have been lost due to this “bug” and no matter how many time people have complained we still haven’t got an answer. MMO are filled with trolls who have nothing else to do than screw up people trying to enjoy the game, and bug like this make it a perfect opportunity for them.
Those people who got kick from a 3 hours run of arah, believe me they won’t set a foot in arah for a while.
Believe me when I say I’ve made the mistake a lot, I kept wondering why my brother could do it but not me :P. Glad to hear it’s working!
beta until when?
…
When it’s ready.
It’s a dungeon tool, let’s just put Beta and never look back.
They do reset fairly quick, make sure you use weapon swap to drop the boulders rather than the number 1 skill you get. If it’s still not working, it may be glitched but I don’t recall ever seeing this puzzle glitched before.
Don’t waste your time, let them be, if ANet fix it, they will move to something else, it will never stop.
I wholeheartedly have to disagree with this. Saying this is like following the saying that “the wiser head gives in” which in turn means nothing but a dominance of fools.
As much as I agree with you, I stopped caring after 3 months with no answers in dungeons sub forum. Countless reports with answer saying they will look onto it. I will not care until ANet start caring. Everyone knows about those exploit, tons of video everywhere and really simple fix, still nothing has been done.
Killing a boss should be a requirement to be able to proceed in a dungeon, until they implement this, people will find new way to skip. This is nothing new, it’s been going on since release, yet no effort shown to actually fix the problem.
What Zone said is right, and since ascended equip came out, the price of low level material is extremely high, you can probably make a good profit by selling the material itself.
As i leveled my first character I would just use stuff given by the personal story and drops I got by the monster I killed, in GW2 your understanding of the combat mechanic and your skills will determine the outcome of a fight more than your gear. And usually masterwork and fine gear drop fairly easy, you shouldn’t have too much problem.

It is an exploit, using Shortbow. They use it to teleport where they shouldn’t be able to go and skip the whole dungeon. Some kinda of jumping puzzle. Use it at your own risk.
However I remember seeing a post about a Dev saying the “jumping puzzle” were not exploit, but I wouldn’t trust that.
Well there was (is?) a partially completed jumping puzzle after you finish the boss.
For the current thief skips – as they are practised/tought – I highly doubt that any dev would claim that this was working as intended.
If it was jumping puzzle, it would (theoretically) be doable for every class and if this is not seen as exploiting, then everything from the snowflake incident to the linen farm can’t be considered exploiting from my point of view.My advise to OP is to stay away from this, unless you want to risk a righteous strike of the banhammer.
This and similar skips for Arah are one of the main reasons why dungeon sellers are frown upon (another reason is that little bit of envy, because honest soloing is actually quite skill-based
).
Don’t worry I know those exploit are not real jumping, the Dev answer I saw was about Arah P2 boat exploit which he qualified as a “jumping puzzle” and said it wasn’t an a bannable offense :P.
Still inconvenient just like the copper-fed salvage-o-matic if you play multiple toons, you automatically get booted out of Terrace on character change when you move the pass to the bank
I hope Anet adds something to also include the bank when checking for a pass or have an account-wide bag or something to put the pass & copper-fed salvage-o-matic.
I’m not a alt-friendly person, but I agree with this, the pass should be an account bound privilege with maybe a fast travel button somewhere when you buy it.
Also the account wide bag could be a very interesting gems store item. Unlock a 8 slot bag that every character can access, I’d totally pay 2000 gems for a 8 slots bag like this since I have permenant TP/Merchant/Bank/Tools/Copper-fed salvage-0-matic
