we also have 8 profession that will do the same things. DPS
i’d like to see more diversity, more strategy we r running in a room to found a corner and stack up, then we will skip a corridor to found another room and stack again…. i wanna see more mechanism, i wanna se heavy tanking/dps in a part of room, a thief cloaked trick some machine then a mesmer make a portal then blink upstairs and carry all the team, i wanna se a hill with a turret with a ranged classes do some job and other classe do other stuff… more complexity, less oneshotting from both parts…. like other games…

Every class does DPS, yes thanks god. But they also gives boon, bring banner, give aegis, put down reflect, cleanse your conditions, knock down the boss, Stealth you through some hard skipping part, Blind enemies, put weakness on them, pull the enemies together. It’s not because you do damage that you can’t support, every team members have responsibility and bring utilities to the fight, just like trinity MMO.

And the shocking truth…

THERE IS NO “DPS” IN THIS kittenING GAME, IT IS NOT A ROLE IN GW2, THERE IS NO ROLES IN GW2 GET IT OUT OF YOU MIND

it’s not a DPS/Support/CC trinity like people claim, EVERY members bring damage, support and crowd control.

You just need to look on the map if the event to protect hodgins is still there. Appearently that burrow’s room event is not mandatory and can be skipped to get the rewards.

you obviously dont know what youre talking about youre probably one of those exploiters.

Casmurro is a really nice guy who actually does Legit Solo in Arah, you need to relax a little, if you have proof someone is exploiting I trust your judgement and I’m glad you’re trying to do something to fix it, but don’t go out calling everyone exploiters.

But out of curiosity how do you check if someone exploited? I always thought it was Spider Queen.

Believe me when I say you’re fine, ANet doesn’t care about reports.

Also I`m pretty sure Warrior can solo path 1, I don’t know about thief, so I wouldn’t report unless you are sure (if you entered the instance and saw that he exploited). I don’t know how many times I had people reporting me on legit Arah P2 saying the only way to do it is to exploit.

I didn’t honestly think the skill ceiling for PvE was that high. Is there an empirical way to measure PvE skill besides dungeon clear times?

Not to knock Obal or anything, I just don’t feel that the PvE content in this game is as difficult as it could have been. I’ve seen him play, and he’s certainly talented.

I think both PvP and PvE require a lot of skills, but they require different one.

In PvP you need to be able to improvise because you are not fighting an AI. Both you and the opponent are going to make mistake because you can’t control the opponent.

High end PvE players are flawless (Obal, Joey The Creator, The list goes on) they do not make mistakes because in most case 1 mistake means death, and they know every fights/mechanic.

I find PvP to be more like Art and PvE technical. But that’s just my opinion.

keep saying that all dungeons are about is stacking. you simply confirm our suspicions that you’re just another one of the skillless and vocal group of people who have never crawled out of AC/SE/insert easy faceroll farm dungeon here.

Ive done every dungeon in the game and done it with easy simple because of stacking lol. First off, there is no “hard” dungeon in this game because you can stack your way through it.

It’s not long. Watch it and tell me with a straight face that it’s stacking that trivialised the fight.

Sorry is this a joke? lol. This is the exact type of hilarity im talking about. This is the face of guild wars 2 dungeons.

I prefer these short intense fight to long afk fight I see in every other MMOs. In GW2 if you are playing the meta, 1 mistake kills you, that’s what you can see in the video.

But you’re probably the kind of guys who rather be watching a show and eating chips while pressing 1 with a range weapon in your soldier gears turning in circle.

I agree with OP, it’s also why a lot of “berserker hater” thing Meta is about killing before getting killed. Destroyer of World in SE path 3 is a good example, a lot of PUG will stack in corner and try to Fiery Rush him to death before dying (which always happens because they don’t dodge the big wind up attack), which is useless unless you have 2 Ele, 4 fiery greatsword, it’s just as fast to kill him in the middle of the room (you also don’t have to wait for him to come to you with a NPC that screw up the pull) .

I know this doesn’t apply to everything or everyone but a lot of people thing that stacking is the solution, it isn’t, it makes buffing each other easier, help with reflects. But that doesn’t negate the bosses mechanic (maybe of course in a couple of situations)

Sorry about that my keyboard is one of those small that share number pad and utility keys so taking screenshot is a pain. But the log literally said "Earth Elemental hits you for 14.8k using ring of earth, which is a fast skill.

Maybe it’s just me, I usually do higher level fractal but I don’t remember being hit so hard in level 20’s, I expect ohko in level 40-50 but not in level 20-30

Lately Iv’e been getting hit really hard at random time in Fractal, just again this morning in a level 28, I had random trash mob spiking me for 8k to 14.8k (Earth Elemental in Molten Fractal) in a single hit. Jade maw tentacles hitting up to 14-15k (while most of their hit usually hits me for 7-8k)

There was a thread 2-3 days ago about someone complaining about the same thing. It just feel wrong, Iv’e never been hit so much by trash mobs.

Retaliation is actually a very good boon. It’s just that it’s nerfed in WvW and PvP so people don’t appreciate it.

I agree that it has its uses in WvW and PvP to “counter” AoE but it is VERY lackluster in PvE, monster hit slowly and the damage output is minimal.

Personally I’d prefer light fields to grant something better than retaliation on blast/leap (protection? Vigor?).

I always thought that Area condi cleanse with a 240 or 360 radius would fit much better than 1-2? second of retaliation. But protection and Vigor would be awesome too.

I don’t see anything bad about the kick. I do the same, although I usually check people’s brains before entering the dungeon.
And when I’m doing like AC p3, advertising ‘4 free spots, at boss, berserker only (preferably ascended) with meta runes’ and getting some guys that are telling me where to stack , although they might be using kitten gear (often refusing to ping), I would rather leave and destroy the dungeon than getting those kitteneds a free reward.

Lol stacking for AC p3 Boss, that is so 2013, it literally takes 10 seconds to kill it in the middle of the room with no elementalist if people are running meta build with half decent brain.

I know you said you wanted good survivability but there is 2 kinds of way to survive in this game, first is trough Passive Defense which is your [toughness, Vitality and healing power] (you will be tanking the hits) or you can use Active Defense Which is, [Reflection, Blinds, Aegis, Blocks, Protection, Weakness] While Passive Defense is gear dependant, Active defense isn’t, so you can gear offensively.

You said you like Greatsword and Hammer, if you are interested into running a High DPS build using Active Defense I highly suggest taking a look at this http://youtu.be/z5k5fO2NN9o?t=10m47s You can look at his channel, Obal is a very skilled PvE player, and you can see how effective Active Defense is, it’s hard to notice all the little things he does but he explain it in his guide.

However, at first it will be extremely hard, you need to make good use of your blinds, block, Reflection and it’s hard to move away from the 0/0/30/30/10 you used to have.
Obal suggest using Knight’s gears (Toughness, Precision, Power) to get used to it (or if you still have some old Soldier (Power, Vitality, Toughness) but what you should be aiming for eventually, is completely offensive gear, Berserker (Power, Precision, Ferocity)

Again, this is merely a suggestion, if this kind of gameplay doesn’t interest you can just ignore my post :P! But let me tell you, in PvE it is possible to mitigate everything through Active Defense.

Get married if you already have a girlfriend.
Have a kid if you already have a wife.
Bring them on holiday if you already have a family.

Made my legendary a few months after launch.
And I realize no one in game cared if I made one.
Quit for 10 months after that.
Realized no one in real life cared either.

Came back after 10 months. See legendaries everywhere.
Playing the game normally and casually.

A happy man.

It was with bloodlust since perception is less EP. She tested it without EA/Spotter, with EA/Spotter, and just spotter. She also tested it unbuffed. Power is the way to go.

Sorry if i missed this in one of your videos/in this guide….what would be the best infusion to use now for ascended rings/accessories. I remember pre-patch you had a lot of precise WvW infusions…Now that Ferocity is around, would a power infusion be better? or would it be better to just go for something else entirely like utility infusions (for those of us who don’t care too much about min/maxing)?

I had Dekeyz run numbers. Power is the best option overall. I had her check a bunch of different scenarios like 6 infusions, 14 infusions, buffed, unbuffed, etc. If you have precision ones like me it won’t be much of a difference (like 1 EP difference on the one calc she ran).

Out of curiosity, was that considering Perception stacks and/or Spotter? I feel like the 3-4% crits I’m getting out of it help me reach 90% critical chance. Also without the Right Hand Strength and only 25 in Radiance, we don’t crit much.

I’m often kicking people who do not match my lfg. But you can usually identify these by some extraordinary description I put in. I’ve had a lot of fun trying to get ‘native english speakers who are willing to communicate". Eventually, after about an hour, someone joined me, quite sadly I didn’t understand his advanced english ‘i rune dol cuz orb i die many’.

That’s old Britain, you need something like an English Major before even starting to understand.

Fractal mobs dps bug or mechanic?

I had a weird experience with Mai Trin Fractal in a lvl 26 2 days ago, (didn’t notice big damage spike in fractal before but we DPS’ed them before I could notice anything anyway)

Mai Trin was hitting me 7-8k per hit (not the whole attack, just one little hit of her pistol whip?) usually doesn’t hit me that much specially when I have protection. Once again this was level 26, I don’t know exactly what happened but it was pretty overwhelming.

Just lost interest in the game again ..

You’re welcome. That video is almost a year old. You should check out some newer info. If you don’t want to commit to a founder pack you should at least register for the beta. I’m in alpha now.

The game is picking up major steam 7k viewers on Twitch now while still in alpha. Good news is it will be f2p with subscriber perks. I imagine it is going to lay this game to waste when people actually try it and see how much there is to do.

Archeage world is boring, fight are uninteresting, fetch quest, they have nice features but the core system are boring, I’m not saying GW2 is perfect but at least they make the core system more interesting. I`m giving props to FFXIV for add’ing dynamic events, they know it’s the way to go. Also about the viewers, it’s mostly because some huge Twitch streamer are streaming Archeage, they would get the same views playing minecraft, along with the fact that there isn’t a lot of streamers able to play archeage.

A part from the ridiculously long time, the mob themselves are just broken. Projectile that get reflected only half the time, Daze, protection, Veteran with champion HP, high auto attack damage, can’t be blinded. Then you reach the clown car which not only takes 15 minutes, but is the most broken thing of the fractal, half the party can’t hit the dredge coming out (not invulnerable but just nothing appear as if the monster wasn’t there). Just like ascalon at level 50, it’s not hard it’s just broken ( instant party ohko on sight with their Meteor )

I don’t mind a “hard” fractal, but this isn’t just a bit hard it’s the most annoying thing in the game.

Why hate the zerkers

Because why do you need toughness or vitality to survive when active defenses are significantly better. And for a good player wouldn’t they use active defenses better. So in that case why do you need to build toughness or vitality if you can dodge well, time aegis and evades well.
You use zerker because the stats power, precision, ferocity is the best in PvE. Toughness and Vitality aren’t good simply because active defense > passive defense. Condition Damage isn’t good in PvE for other reasons like how often you can apply max condis for max dps and take out threats (condi bombs) and how useful it is if your condi skills are on CD. Zerk has AA at the very least that takes full advantage. Can you say the same with condis? Healing power isn’t good for other reasons. So that is why Zerk is good.
Is 1 person’s fun > than 4 people’s. Instead of saying fun I say bring whatever is best for a team and that means traits, utilities, and stats. At the end of the day people say zerk is only dps but look at say Obal’s guardian build it has a lot of support in it too and if you compare that to say AH you see an AH build is very lacking in both offense and support.

But why is there this need to “take it to the max?” Why should the rule of thumb be zerker is best for dps. If someone enjoys playing a condition build, zerker just doesn’t compliment the traits.

Even IF the person is using conditions, is he really making the run less fun for the other 4? IF someone is using P/V/T gear, is he really a rainy cloud in the parties instance?

With relation to changing traits, there isn’t always that luxury with LFG. The best you can do is swap out weps and skills once you get there and hope for the best. There is much more group synergy with a guild group.

Many people said it already but there is 2 kinds of Berzerker people.

I personally don’t care what gear people are running when I PuG (so do a lot of good player) what I do care is, what kind of utilities people bring, what kind of weapons they use. When a Necro fear the badly stacked mob (they didn’t stack because he was ranging) I care a lot. When the guardian doesn’t bring Wall of Reflection in CoE at the beginning, I care, when the ranger using frost spirit and Spotter at 1200 range while the rest of the party melee, I care. That list goes on forever.

I much rather have a player that know what to use and when to use it with Dire gear, than someone who doesn’t know using Berzerker.

I think the problem right now is that people associate Berzerker with good player. They expect people to be aware of the “meta” and know how to survive if they are using Berzerker.

Radient Retaliation

I love how the Guardian has to sacrafice everything to get something.

We want DPS… there goes any type of real sustain in anything other than havoc groups.

We want Conditions… we have to use Sigils & Runes.

We want to Bunker down… we sacrifice any real damage.

And although #1 & 3 is “balanced” in theory, the amount of sacrifice is what brings the issue’s to light w/ the design of the class.

THAT has ~always~ been “the issue”…. The AMOUNT of sacrifice a guardian has in unparalleled by any other class. Fix this and the guardians will go back to being silent and content.

Err… Intelligence sigil apparently makes Guardian hit hard even as bunkers, as far as I can tell, every burst Guardian runs Monk’s Focus with Full meditations and condi guards are powerful already, ease of application for other condis would be great but, no need to make it OP because frankly, we all like a challenge regardless of how much we’ll complain about it.

And to be honest, if I can sit on the face of a fear spamming necro as a condi guard, I call that a win.

The biggest issue with condis guard is not the damage, or sustain, for me it’s mostly the fact that we do not have any cripple, or chill, or fear, or AoE condition (except for traited VoJ?) A good necro will give you about EVERYTHING, so your heal won’t be as effective (Poison) your cooldown will be slow (Chill) you will be slow (cripple, chill) while receiving bleed, fire, torment damage. Warrior will put fire, cripple, bleed and CC you at the same time. Same goes for every other classes.

Even if the guard fire hits for 1k (in PvP it’s more like 800) it’s the only thing we have.

Also in PvP, the fact that we have low health pool means we have to go for HP or toughness, either way we get wrecked by either conditions (Toughness) or by any burst build (HP with trait and gear is hardly over 18k)

I had problems with alphard too and this video helped me a lot, it still takes a couple tries to get it right but it works just as good on warrior. Also, even if the “pillar” block the pull, it is still a good idea to dodge just in case, better be safe than sorry :P.

The tactic is pretty simple, just turn around the pillar, this way when he shoots he hits the pillar, also adds will LoS and come to you which make it really easy to deal with them. The camera is really annoying but you get used to it.

I’m not sure if you’re running the new Pure Axes meta build but it’s great for this fight, really easy to interupt the auto attack for dodging and also the block on sword 5 if you’re taking a lot of damages.

So yes, felt like solo’ing Caudecus Manor and I was ashamed by the difficulty.

Dungeon were already easy for coordinated group but this is ridiculous, the whole path took me 14 minutes, every boss were melting, once again I was solo’ing. And when boss’es took a shot at me (DPS meta build Guard) I was hardly loosing health.

I know this is mostly for the new trait system but how do you want people to get control of their characters if they don’t even have to dodge because the damage are too low. Or why would try to min-max when everything is melting even for a PVT or Cleric group.

I felt the change when I did a tour with my group but I felt it ALOT more after doing some solo in lower level dungeon.

PvE: Is scepter bad?

The problem with scepter is not the damage, it’s the fact that it is a ranged weapon.
How will you give your aegis (shout 600 range) at 1000-1200 range? How will you protect them with wall of reflection or shield of the avenger, how will you cleanse them with Purging Flame.This is what people mean when they say things like AH build or Ranged build are selfish.

Just to compare, my group and I pug’ed our last slot for a Level 50 FoTM, we got a ranger. We didn’t care and everything went smooth, but he didn’t help, or barely. He had spotter, and not a single moment in the fight we got it, he was always at 1000+ range, his damage were barely noticeable, mob wouldn’t stack correctly, if he got killed by projectile we had to run back to him to resurrect him.

Funnily enough, it seems like it’s a reverse nerf when it comes to low level dungeons. Even mediocre dps pugs will output more than enough to trivialize all the AC bosses.

The former crit did not scale correctly under 80. That was corrected and therefore more damager under 80.

A.lot.more.

A kitten load more.

I did 15k Hundred on spider in a pug group that didn’t stack might or vulnerability.

I think it’s time for Anet to introduce “Hard mode” for dungeon, all Lvl 80 version of the current dungeon with slightly different things.

New Trait System Discourages New Comers

It’s not like trait were “fun” to begin with, most of them are just passive buffs, I think it’s nice for new player to not be overwhelm by everything this game offer.

People already need to adapt to GW2, no trinity, no regular quest, weapon swap. It may not seems like a lot, but many new player don’t even bother using 2 weapon sets.

It’s forced socialization, they want players to group and ask for help. Every mmo tries it and fails miserably. I think Anet hit an icy patch and can’t get the game back under control. Guess I’ll go dust off my light saber again.

I disagree, have you been to lower level area today? People everywhere grouping, asking for help and receiving this help from End game players. I think Anet did a wonderful job in making GW2 about people playing together. I’m not a fan of zerg content but I think it’s nice seeing a community grouping like this.

The only downside of this patch is how easy it is now for End game players in low level area, I was pretty much 1 hitting everything.

Get rid of levels once & for all!

For some people like me level’ing is the most enjoyable part of a game. It’s a feeling I can only experience once, everything after become a pointless endless grind. I know this is only my opinion but I know there is people out there that feel the same but getting TO endgame is unique and it’s a feeling you only get once in a MMO.

In my opinion it is a great change, I think new players are overwhelm by Weapon swapping, utilities and trait coming all so early. Being a little weaker mean you have to rely on their ability more than passive “buff”.

Of course player who were 80 pre patch will find the new system a little slow but that’s because we are used to get our traits at level 10. I think new players will benefice from having one less thing to worry about (at least until level 30).

Are you aware that megaserver has not yet been release for Cities? it’s actually only in Hearth of the mist. I think it’s sad that some people would act rude towards you guys, I’m not a RP’er myself but I do enjoy watching and listening to you guys, I also like when I get a RP’er in my party after posting on LFG tool, I find it very entertaining.

It has been released for The Grove, Rata Sum, and the Black Citadel thus far.

But I appreciate your mentality nevertheless. We’re not trying to “shove RP down people’s throats”. We’re just trying to have fun in our own way. X)

Oh I see thanks for the update :P, I think you guys are very sweet and I wish people would appreciate the thought you put into this. Also right now these cities might be full but I think it’s only because the megaserver was just release and those place are the only one affected, so people come to see, give it a month and it should be quieter.

Don’t give up because of a few frustrated folks, who can’t have fun, forgot what mmo*RP*g is all about!

I would like to thank the guild wars devs for not thinking of us rpers.
This megaserver has not only torn apart the ease of rping with my entire guild, but has now halted the creation of a new one that was becoming very successful.

I logged in today to people actually complaining about being around rpers and as I offered a suggestion to it I was attacked and categorized. Well that was a great to see.

This is very upsetting and frustrating. Rping was a huge reason why I was still playing. After I play for a few more weeks, if this keeps up I’m just going to be leaving as will most of my rping community.

Here is some suggestions:
-Create an option where you can pick the ‘shard’ your put in
-An added option to pick a specific ‘rp’ shard
-Remove megaservers from main cities

Are you aware that megaserver has not yet been release for Cities? it’s actually only in Hearth of the mist. I think it’s sad that some people would act rude towards you guys, I’m not a RP’er myself but I do enjoy watching and listening to you guys, I also like when I get a RP’er in my party after posting on LFG tool, I find it very entertaining.

I don’t think megaserver mean the end of Roleplaying, I hope you guys find a way to enjoy this side of the game while we do our stuff.

I really like the Rune of strength so far, one blast last the whole fight now, it used to be 5-15 seconds short on most boss but now unless its got a huge health pool, it’s perfect.

I’d like to know how Accuracy Sigil are now compared to Battle. (for day dungeon/fractal) 7% crit chance look nice now that we can’t stack accuracy.

Have you guys tried running some dungeons after the update? I felt that AC was a lot easier than before, the bosses seemed to have less HP too. Same for Arah, Lupi went down pretty fast, even without a min-max full zerker group

For AC it has to do with the Ferocity change, Critical damage used to be scaled down to almost nothing (5-15%) now it’s the same as your lvl 80 crit damage (I was doing some 15k hundred blade while before the patch 10-11k was my top). My tour went a lot faster than before the patch, CM,CoF, TA, were much much easier.

Couldn’t sleep, I have been waiting for this patch forever. I can’t wait to log in and gather all the skins so I can make some epic mix and match, wardrobe make mix and matching so much easier since you can directly preview your skin and decide to apply them!

Also I can remake my warrior as a Charr since I can just move my ascended/Legendaries around! Can’t wait to see what ANet is going to come out with next!

I also might start doing some serious PvP since they are merging reward with PvE!!!

the 2/4 appears for everyone on the log in page. You probably didn’t notice when you got your reward at 2/2 since you didn’t expect it.

So you only need to do 2 Monthly now to receive your reward, not 4, even if the log in page is broken and show 2/4 :P

I know and im saying that because your response completely ignored the point that thats how those bosses are designed and how they are supposed to work.

and how they should work.

The fact that bosses use different attacks depending on its range is the way it should be.
That’s like a Ranger using a longbow in melee range, completely ineffective.

And there is no “fix” to LoS’ing mobs, every possible fix would have a flaw just as “bad”.

My LFG ads for speedruns go as it follows:

Speedrun|ºZerk gearº|ººXPºº|Know your stuff|<Observation>|P<number>|

By <observation> I mean any extra requirement, such as “Melee Lupi” and other variables.
P<number> is, obviously, the path I’m willing to run.

This way they must have had to read the ad and hover their cursor over it to know what path that ad is for, but what do I get? PVT Warriors, Cleric’s Guardians, Condi Necros/Engis.
These days I am forced to add “Ping gear” to that already long list just to be sure, which doesn’t always really help.

Is reading seriously that hard?

I think some people think gear doesn’t matter much. They don’t realize how much their builds are hurting the party mostly because of the misinformation going on. People making “ultimate paladin build” with wrong information.

I try to not hate because not everyone has access to the right information, I try to teach them but if they don’t want to listen I just don’t bother. For some people it’s hard to get away from the Trinity they had been using for 10 years +.

One thing that would help a lot would be a class related tutorial, that would be a requirement.

I pick guardian, the tutorial ask me things like " Archer are shooting arrows at you, use your Wall of Reflection" or “This guy hits hard, use an aegis to block when he winds up”

This would teach new players that active defense is important, that they don’t have to rely on HP, Healing power, Toughness to stay alive.

Aah, the weekly thread where zerkers pat eachother on the back and describe how awesome they are.

PS: I wear zerk gear for PvE but just don’t feel the need to post it on forums every week.

If you fail to see the purpose of the posts people have made so far you’re just as worse. ( I don’t mean to sound rude sorry for that)

This is about stopping the misinformation going on about the Berzerker. If you can’t tell when a boss is going to attack, you will want to go toward more defensive gear to not get kill in 1-2 hits, but if you can, you can use Reflect or Aegis or whatever and use offensive gear since you don’t rely on passive defense.

A good example is always Spider Queen in AC,
When I do AC not a single member of my party gets bite by her (her strongest attack, 1-1.5k damage and gives 6 bleeding and Weakness) because I will Aegis when I see her leaning back. I will also use wall of reflection to make sure the little spider don’t eat up the Aegis I gave along with Virtue of justice to blind them (with the trait to refresh when you kill monster). That’s why a lot of Pugs die, they think all they need to do is stack in the corner and FGS or auto attack.

With FGS people are getting worse at being good, because they can successfully kill the enemy before getting killed (most of the time) I’m not saying everyone is doing this but I see it a lot.

A good CC, a good Aegis, well placed Reflect, Dodging the huge attack. These are what make this game an action MMO. You don’t have to facetank anything if you know the fights.

I can fix the zerker meta for you right now. It will never happen without a complete redesign of all the dungeons though.

Step 1) Remove any and all areas that allow groups to avoid boss damage by standing in a specific place.

Step 2) Reduce outgoing boss damage spikes but increase overall damage delt, especially environmentally. (EG: the fight against Sparki and Slick, or the Old Tom fight in Fractals 10+)

Step 3) Give bosses abilities that will do huge, nasty things unless certain conditions are met: “This Boss will pick someone at random and straight kill them unavoidably unless he gets hit by 15 stacks of bleeds within 15 seconds” for example.

Make fights more technical and less ‘I can avoid everything by dodging’, and you’d see if not the fall of the Go Zerk or Go Home thing, at least more build diversity.

Step 1 is not fixable because it’s not an issue, boss uses different skills depending if they are ranged or melee, it’s normal. That’s why spider queen doesn’t do AoE, not because of the corner stack. My group decided to try and fight her in the middle of the room it was just as easy since we don’t usually use FGS for her, use reflect for small spiders and stand in star formation around her.

Step 2 would make Dodging and the whole action mechanic useless. We would go back to the old meat shield + healer.

“Zerker” meta is not a problem. Action MMO are designed to be like that. If you are skilled enough to avoid damage using mitigation such as dodging, reflect, block you can go all offensive on your stats, but if you are learning, you can use more defensive gears to be able to tank more hits from the enemies.

U will get twilight, sunrise, and eternity skin. But if u still have the eternity u will still have the stats for it. Can’t wait till the 15th n gonna sale my eternity and still have twilight and sunrise as skin, will get ascended greatsword and transmute them.

I’m a 100% sure this won’t work, I see a lot of people talking about “eternity exploit/glitch” (selling the eternity and keeping twilight and sunrise skins) but ANet probably thought about that and came out with something to avoid it.

Also you can just strafe left and right avoiding all his damage, it is really lame and requires no skill but it is consistent :P

Hello folks,

I solo Arah Path 2 couple of time every days (or almost) and while every boss is easily doable, Alphard seems to rely a little on RNG for me. I sometimes ends up getting killed between my cooldowns by the adds.

I need to watch out for Alphard pull + Unload and when I’m out of reflect some adds that don’t come to me Unload on me and there’s pretty much nothing I can do about it.

For information my builds is 20/25/0/0/25 with Sw/Fc and GS, Berserker with Scholar’s runes. I use shelter and Shield of the avenger, Wall of reflection and Sanctuary.

So what I’m asking for is, did any guardians find a way to kill Alphard consistently, something like a stacking spot or different weapons, or even tactics.

If they’re going to account-bind legendaries, I think they should remove it from the wardrobe.

You get to share your legendary gear between characters since they are account bound so that’s not a problem anymore, and it would avoid problems such as the before-mentioned Eternity-making exploit to unlock 2 free legendaries.

The reasons people would complain now about removing them from the wardrobe would be either if you can’t deal with the effort of stuffing your sword into the bank when you want to switch playing on another character, or if you want to dual-wield legendaries without the effort of making 2.

Which is exactly what ANet is trying to promote. They want to reward player that worked hard to getting skins by allowing them to reuse that skin on other items. Quit seeing this only for legendaries, there is much more to it then legenday.

I know that being able to transfer weapon between character is a nice addition, but all these changes are about quality of life. A lot of people play 3-4 different characters and having to switch weapon every time just to do 1 dungeon or even 1 part of a dungeon is annoying, I have permanent bank access which make it really easy for me, but not many people do.

And having skins allow you to have different sigils for different situations. I have a foefire with an Undead sigils just for Arah, I would have prefered a sunrise or twilight skin, but it was too much work just for 1 dungeon.
