Well the hint is in the name: Necromancer. They deal with death all the time, and in GW1 even used the corpses of dead foes and allies alike to create their creatures of the underworld. I agree it’s not exactly “zombies” but that’s getting a bit pedantic I think.
In the meantime I am using a program called SharpKeys that allows you to re-bind any key on your keyboard to anything you like. so far Ctrl, shift and Caps lock have been re-assigned to f10, f11 & f12, solely for my gw2 experience
Please do something about this. Every day I’m getting issues with loads of gibberish being spammed to chat instead of me dodging and moving like I should be! It is a serious hinderance in pvp for people that like to click sometimes (hey, it’s not a crime!).
Imagine a necro summon undead skill that allowed you to raise the corpse of the player that you just killed, in all their zombified glory! How cool would that be? I mean, not actually taking control of the player, but making a copy of their character model, turning the skin a bit rotten /green / covered in blood etc. Id even put a GW1 “disease” style green cloud around them to show they are zombies not real players. I think it would be a really sweet touch in pvp. You could even go as far as making the summons different depending on the profession of your dead foe, with regards to their skills and behaviour.
Also, I realise that many of you were probably aware of this already, judging by some of the other videos I’ve come across. I guess what prompted me to make this thread was the sheer depth of the hacking program. It has really shocked me that this level of gamebreaking is going on.
Hi, I just came across a youtube video for a hack program for gw2 – I won’t link it, but it’s out there. Let me say the depth of this program is astounding. Unlimited teleports anywhere, flying, insane superman speed boosts, run up walls, jumping really high among other things… Basically makes you Neo and GW2 your matrix. It kinda reminded me of an elder scrolls game with all the game breaking mods turned on at once…
Needless to say anyone who uses there kinds of programs is plain idiotic if they actually care about keeping their accounts, but there are bound to be a few people tempted. Hell, just watching the video made me green with envy at the powers this little mesmer had!!
Please devise some way to outsmart the hackers, because they make it that little bit worse for everybody else that plays by the rules. Imagine if this caught on, and Anet actually had no real way to detect it (very doubtful but just postulating here), the results almost certainly would be disastrous.
Thanks for reading.
I had a feeling it might be a teleport! Okay thanks for clearing that up. but I am curious where exactly you target, as I’ve tried it with teleport before on ele but could not replicate it. Maybe ele teleports just don’t have the range? Any advice would be helpful
When starting as blue team on rotc map and running to capture the beach, I have seen people somehow magically jumping through the wall of rock that you are supposed to have to run up and over. I’ve seen this a few times now, at first I put it down to my imagination but now I am certain there is some trick being used here I am unaware of. Anyone care to shed any light on this?

Every time I use a skill with the fiery greatsword lately, it makes this annoying loud banging noise that is clearly unintentional.
“Windborne Dagger – 15% when using a dagger”
Don’t use this, the trait is currently bugged and actually does nothing.
yeah, for future, it would be nice if that only showed up once, and could be minimised back to just the title or whatever, like events and quests can in pve. You can have it flash up or stay up in PvE, just please keep the mists for us jaded PvPers ;D
The only thing that is taking me any time past the first 2 hours is the 3 tourney wins as I simply habven’t been tPvPing since the update… don’t get me wrong I like the achievements, but a monthly achievement should take you, umm a lot more than an hour or two to complete! Make the rewards scale much higher, with the chance of some rare bits of loot for getting the highest tier of the monthly would be my suggestion. It might make some achievement hounds who don’t like PvP QQ though so don’t link it in with any other “needed” achievements for that month. I’m not sure how the system works now really as achievement points seem pointless to me and I only pvp.
Quick suggestion: make the practice golems in the mists “non combat” designation (but you can still kill them)
Reason? When testing you are obviously going to want to try different things quickly while the dmg numbers are still fresh in your mind. However, at the moment it goes something like this:
You attack and kill one golem, then you have to stop, run a fair bit away or just sit and wait for whatever time it takes for the yellow “in combat” glow to fade from your skillbar. Just to be able to apply that new sigil or whatever. If you think about it they are not even alive the are only tools for our disposal. Calling it “combat” is a stretch as it is so this change makes sense to me.
I certainly don’t expect this as a priority or anything, far from it, but I think it is good to share ideas as and when they come to you.
Thanks for your consideration Anet.
there are a few threads on this with a few different workarounds:

Wooooooops! Good to know.
And Today on temple of the stroms also I noticed a couple of games where teams were winning before 500, one beat us at 430. Quite a bad bug.
Anet folks, don’t be disheartened by the bad comments, I too hoped for more, but I do not see the full picture like you guys can. I think people just expect a bit too much from you guys, I personally am here for the long haul and appreciate any fixes you can give us. But I too echo the sentiment about the bugged traits / runes / skills etc being a priority to fix, do that and you will have a clearer picture.. but from this update it seems this is your intention to gradually do.
My advice would be to lay back on the massive pve events for a month or two and devote some more resources to improving pvp. Just my 2 cents.
Ok so this may or may not be a bug, reckon it is though. I haven’t had time to properly test this and it would be nice if someone confirmed, but I’ll just post it up here while I remember to do so.
So last night I played the temple of storms map a few times in a row, and I noticed in one of them that my elite skill (fiery greatsword) still had not recharged fully from the previous game. I didnt notice this straight away but I definitely had not used that elite in that match so it should not be on recharge. Ty.
All this fuss over something that does precisely NOTHING lol…
Well disappointed this nut hasn’t been cracked yet… Elementalists have a hard enough time of it without having a completely useless traits to contend with too! Please enquire!
Also, to save on in-combat confusion for new players, you could make it so the swap button only appears outside of combat. It is totally invisible when fighting. What do you think?
My suggestion is this: Ele’s could be given the weapon swap button like other professions, BUT only allowed to change weps outside of combat like normal. The main reason for this is so that you can easily swap to, say, S/D setup for running around and covering ground, but then back to staff when you get into combat. I’m thinking for pvp here mainly. At the moment you can still achieve this but it means going into the inventory and then equipping scepter, then dagger, making sure you do it in the correct order or it will slow you down even more having to re-equip it. I just think this tiny addition would be a great little quality of life addition for all those hard-working ele’s out there. Going into the inventory is just not ideal.
Well I’m glad I posted this up if even to get a general feeling of how others feel about this. So far the majority seems to be for keeping the stat quo, so I’m cool with that. I do think it’s good to discuss things like this though like Kimbald says, and just because you like something the way it is now doesn’t mean that there could not be something better in it’s place.
In this situation maybe you are right it is a valid tactic and all is well. All I’ll say is it certainly surprised me that it was possible, so maybe it should be written on the game info screen that pops up at the start.. something like: “score the final hit to claim the points”… It is a tiny change that eliminates any confusion (and therefor annoyance) for people who are just coming across this kill stealing strategy.
Last match I was in a thief managed to kill steal the bosses on forest of niflhel twice in a row and it really ended our chances. To me it seems unfair that one guy can jump in, oneshot the boss when he’s 98% defeated already and claim the 25 points. You are against kill stealing everywhere else in gw2, so what’s the deal here guys?
EDIT: meant to add that if I were doing it I would say the kill should go to the team that did the most damage to him in the last 10 seconds or something along those lines, rather than the last bit of damage.
cheers for reading, have a good day :]
