I just want to be able to minus it out or hide it permanently. It’s kind of a blotch on the screen now.
This this this. My girlfriend’s casual, I’m a bit hardcore, and we’re pretty bummed that we have now one week to do the Playhouse dungeon. What a waste of dev time! I spent the first week being less-than-completely-entertained with her for the invasions, only to find we’ve got cookouts and our life to attend to! :} So let’s rush to play some dungeon that goes away in six days from now.
I just don’t understand. I’m beginning to think there’s a malicious decision-maker at ANet. Liadri, whatever, some people thought she was great, ended up being a kind of crappy fight. We go on. But 12/13 is right, and it’s not like you can even skip the achievement: if you really dig the watchknights and want to turn into one, you’re doing every single achievement. Play your way? :P Skipping the LS means you’re skipping new content, and you want new content to keep you interested.
I would like to say the WvW team’s been kicking it, though. :} Can’t wait for the BL changes.
I don’t get players……they farm hours and hours to get ton of gold just to buy armor sets and legendary weapon to just play dress up with. Its just armor with different design and color.Weapons with different design and colors.Just to make you pretty. And if you think that farming 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 hours just to get that kind of gear will make people think that you are hard working or should be respected.Well, all i can say is lol.
You could always invest via TP to make gold. A lot of people pay money IRL to customize their stuff such as cars etc.
In real life yeh i get it.In a virtual one.
.
I assure you that I don’t care how cool your car looks IRL and do not respect you any more for it. Guild Wars has always been less about the grind, even if the living story makes you think otherwise. The grinding usually ends up being just for looks; only with the new ascended weapons will you be able to transmute money (not only time) into the highest level gear. I spent 20g on dye because I don’t need money anymore. I’m sitting on 80g after donating 40g in influence to my guild. I want to get some silly stuff, maybe an extra character slot. I dunno, there’s the “grind”.
Games like WoW are gear treadmills and what you think you’re gaining in them is only a sham; irrelevant in 3-6 months.
+1 for the glorious unicorn, Cletus.
Never hear of them until Living Story.
Turns out they have 1,000+ members and are incredibly powerful.
Personally, they remind me of Team Rocket, but much more dangerous. :{
My girlfriend was yawning 20 minutes into the 45-minute event chain we’re forced to do five times if we ever want to see our beautiful pavilion again. She cannot complete the pavilion achievements she decided to wait on because it’s closed. And for what?
The opening of the closing ceremony (…) seemed rushed and cheap. The queen said about two sentences before AHAHAHA! Evil character interruption! Both our characters floated into the floor when it started. I don’t know if the problem is the two-week cycle, but I certainly don’t feel like they’re polishing the updates as much as they should be.
And I don’t feel like they’re listening much, even if I do see some topics with red ANet responses. Did we ever get an official response on liadri? How about bi-weekly updates but with a week of respite between two releases? If that made sense to anyone. [so between queen’s and zaephyr, we had a single week, even if we were tired of zaephyrs]
I always it assumed it was for the devs. I can find no information on what destroying it does. I have gotten Tyler’s house down only to 80% before being spotted by the enemy, throughout my WvW career. Perhaps soon I will make a real attempt to take down Tyler’s house and see if the rumors are true: that champion Tyler rushes out of it right to the gate of the red keep and starts bashing until he or the gate is taken down.
Blood Red Arachnid knows his stuff. Time limits have classically been used to artificially increase the difficulty, and 1HKOs have classically frustrated gamers. Liadri does need work; some people may be forgetting that games are supposed to be fun, and Liadri’s 1HKOs, time limit, visuals, and the time it takes to challenge her are not fun. Liadri is not a fun fight. That is undeniable, even if you had fun fighting her.
I’ve spent 40 minutes on Liadri. Yes, hard, and yes, not completable by everyone. I’m a formidable gamer. However, everything all together is just too much.
- costs tickets, repair, travel time back just to have the privilege to have a fight like:
- make one mistake and you’re generally boned
- visually difficult
- what purpose are orbs?
- can’t even throw crystal while moving
- timed
Various game design flaws: it is essential to leave the game and go to a site to understand the fight, generally 1HKO are frustrating to the player and should be avoided, punishment for failure is both frustrating. (walking, paying, tickets)
Certainly, the shadows should not kill you; just slow you, so the player has control. I’m actually pretty surprised with the designers in charge of this fight. :o

I’ve been wondering this for a while, and I came across this today:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/10qywq/abusing_consumables_a_guide/
(“abusing” perhaps not the best word, but)
What is the stance on this? I know they made the camo kit unusable in WvW, but how does ANet feel about bombs, charr mines? I’ve seen people transform in WvW, I doubt that’s a problem. But bombs could be potentially problematic for attackers – which makes them really fun. Before I stack 100 charr mines into my inventory, I want to make sure it’s okay.
I find this site to be helpful, I presume it’s accurate?
http://us.gw2stuff.com/en/events/us
I have not once looked at that site and seen grenth completely finished. :/
Personally, I run soldier stats with a focus on wells: suffering, corruption, healing, power. Well of Power is absolutely incredible for a team anywhere. The mobs just sit in my damage wells. Yours sounds fine.
For the most part, fotm isn’t too “elite” until 40+, and I have only had one experience with someone in my party questioning someone else’s build. (the someone-else in question also liked to use transform tonics every chance they could)
I would like to echo this. I really want to use my uncommon fractal bags that hold 20 items, but they don’t compact. I understand why, it’s just kind of annoying. Ticking ‘compactable’ on each bag would be loverly.
Happening for me as well. First google result is this topic. :P
It happened on my thief in Malchor’s Leap on a personal to cut off supply to the Mouth.
dragon rank 5, storm rank 13, maguuma rank 7
Stormbluff Isle has 50k points less than Dragonbrand.
Stormbluff is gaining+26 rating.
Maguuma, a measley 5k more points than Stormbluff, is losing 66 rating.
Dragonbrand gains 45 rating.
Tell me how this was intended to be fair.
I suppose it doesn’t matter what rank you’re at with the high volatility of this system, though. Glicko whatever; this volatility needs to go, or it needs to be a hell of a lot smarter.
Yes! Please. I understand that it’s very interesting, but I don’t want to play this Living Story. I want to wait for the next one. It’s irrelevant to me.
