It’s either soloQ or stay as-is. No duoQ.
You could deconstruct and make the result account-bound?
Another way to spread the population over the worlds would be to delete all existing worlds and make all new worlds very small mini-worlds with low population caps (10% or 30% of now). Then you can link these new mini-worlds better together to big-worlds and balance the population better.
This is the most practical option, and one I’d like to see, but people would never shut up about it. You destroyed our guild, I was away from the game for six months and lost my home. Maybe if you developed an in-game incentive, a one-time or annual deal where you can volunteer to join new/empty servers and you’ll get 10 2-hour WXP boosters?
What’s really on my mind is that megaservers seek to bring people together based on worlds that are only truly relevant in WvW. If you removed worlds from the megaserver calculation, you’d simplify megaserver match-making and leave worlds where they belong: in World vs. World. At that point, you’d have a lot of control over population, active population, and incentives.
I eagerly await the day we have three separate Borderlands maps — alpine, desert, forest — and we can choose to play whichever whenever.
Darkhavin’ a good time over here!
Yes! This was a small part in my loss of interest in WvW. Put the kids in bed, sit down with some dessert… enjoy the reset.
Anything that gets us closer to a DPS meter, yes please!
I play a fairly fair “medic necro” and I’m really going to miss the Mercy runes. I focus on reviving and healing — my Tranfusion healing those around me for a max of 7,200 — and while it’s niche and would never be meta, I would really like Mercy to stick around for this character. That being said, I’m not sure what other trouble the rune is causing. Just another a case for keeping the rune, though, and I don’t feel like my medic necro really abuses anything.

Level 25+
I’m rich. After using your facilities long enough, I’ll donate.
I’m active. I’ll join you for missions. Raids. Special events.
I can be chatty! I’m even bilingual.
What more could you want from a player? Tell me and I’ll offer it.

next week.
Take your time! Please.
I’m an AP hunter and it’s pretty crappy that this happened, I hope it wasn’t intentional. I love my AP.
I’ve gained about 10 reward levels since the release. My biggest concern right now is the HP sponging. Why wouldn’t the devs increase difficulty by increasing the damage done by enemies? HP sponging is boring, and you could actually punish full zerkers with an inverse system rather than reward them.
Elite Specializations & Hero Point Feedback [Merged]

It’s an elite spec. There should be some grind, it should be expensive. And it won’t even be, with the jungle’s challenges rewarding us 10 per.
All you should be upset about is having to unlock all traits before going spec; this is reminiscent of the logic behind the old (new) trait system, where you had to unlock with skill points and gold if you weren’t completing certain achievements. It simply wasn’t fun to deal with.
Colin, could you explain the reasoning behind having to unlock all core specializations before working toward an elite?
edit: This topic’s moving way too quickly (and much too crazy) but for anyone reading: I don’t think the answer is really that “they want us to be level 80”, but if it is, that’s a weird way of locking elite content out. I agree that 80 is an acceptable cap, just not that I should have to spend more points in meaningless lines for my alts.

I’m a programmer going into the office on Sunday (today) to spend an indeterminate amount of time fixing something. I know how it feels to keep trying and hoping you’ll find a fix before it’s too late. :} Keep fighting the good fight, brothers. Take deep breaths, drink some good tea. In, out.
Just do a double-reset for this week. That would be progressive and unlike other MMOs/companies.
Looks fun, I’ll take #11.
2,500 dolyaks is a lot, but I think even as high as 10,000 is reasonable. WvW is forever. I’ve played tons (rank 800ish?) and I believe I have about 1.3k kills.
As long as you’ve got good rewards for each tier, I’d prefer a scale closer to 10,000. By good rewards mean giving us 20 AP every 2,500 past 2,500. Maybe it looks like a lot on paper, but that’s a lot to ask of a player, even when it exists alongside achievements that give, for example, 20 AP every 2,500 towers captured.
Alternatively, giving AP every X after a player’s achieved the title would be even better and really solidify that “WvW is forever”. If they were repeatable, I’d expect 10 AP per 2.5k slayed.
As this is the first result on google for a three-year-old bug: our method.
Tarleov apparently needs to be in the vicinity of the rock he has to mine, so try keep him in the room where you fought the first champ. (who lead to the other 4 champs) Both times this worked for us, he was alive. Rasolov was as well. I think the trick is to have him in the vicinity, because he does a “poll” for the rock that is simply out of his range if he’s too far into the next room.
The rest of the game needs to change. Best necro vs. best ele/mes/war will always lose. On my mind lately:
Wells are too small, or too short, or on too low cooldown.
Dark Pact 25 CD is just mocking. 16s CD if our health happens to be high enough.
Fearing Diamond Skinners.
Need better stomps. FitG is too short to cover someone’s downed skill interrupts.
Immob should do as advertised: no thief/ele rolling out of it.
I think we’ll wait to see how the necro plays on Tuesday. :}
I run wells and I’m really happy about the buff to Well of Blood, so long as it’s spec’d in. 3s of Protection and life siphon added to a decent heal. I transfer conditions with dagger/staff 4, and we have a high baseline HP, so I’m not too concerned with conditions.
I would have liked to detonate marks for blast finishers, but at least we got some kitten blood magic and a few other changes I like.
I love the necromancer traits, especially blood magic. Excellently done.
Question on thief pistols: why the hate? I was hoping to see some support for my p/p sorta-cheese thief, I’m really gonna miss ricochet.
And I thought Healing Signet was getting a tiny nerf?
I want to give my use case on the Tome of Courage. I do not play PvE with my guardian, just SPvP.
I successfully run a point-defense build with hammer and staff. Not necessarily bunker, but quite bunky. I can almost always survive 1v1 no problem, but when it comes to 1v2 or when I need to be healing my allies, I love the Tome of Courage. I’ll usually bunk far and when I’m in trouble, heal’s on CD, I’ll pop ToC and soon after skill 5 for a full heal. I take the elite focus trait for stability.
It’s powerful but certainly not unstoppable. I’m often dazed by pistol thieves, busted around by engis. I would miss it if it were gone, and I really question the power of the signet you’re proposing, even if it had a 3-minute cooldown on use.
Sadly it seems I’m in the minority! I know if I wanted to be a superbunk that I could take renewed focus, but I do like ToC for its party/self support. Maybe you folks would come up with some other desirable elite. I have little experience with the tome of wrath.
Now i need to wait even longer… This is just absurd.
Posts like these keep the devs as quiet as they are. Thankfully more players seem to be understanding. It’s software development: it happens, it’s fine. :} I’m disappointed but hopefully wed/thu of this week is a possibility despite ANet’s propensity to release on Tuesdays.
I’d like a toggle to keep these siege skins as the default.
It’s unfortunate that your legendary requires some legendary acts to construct. Or just getting it handed to you with a 1/3 chance every Friday.
“Paying more money”? You mean leveling to 80 and getting good equips?
It’s a little event that I’m enjoying for what it is. Dragon Ball could give a tiny bit for a win, but I have a feeling the 10 win box makes up for it. I really only agree that an invitation mail could have been sent.
I just took the flamethrower to the test dummies and cannot confirm that: in fact I do see nearly a 15% increase in DPS, so Deadly Mixtures is either fixed or was never broken.
Under Firearms 8, the Juggernaut trait reads: “You gain toughness while wielding a flamethrower.” and follows with Juggernaut: +200 Toughness
However, it simply does not add the Toughness unless you already have a boost adding Toughness. For example, it works in WvW because most of the time you have the +stats bloodlust boost.
See here for details: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/engineer/Flamethrower-Juggernaut-Trait-Bug/first
Putting on Rune of the Dolyak, for example, and adjusting traits doesn’t seem to activate it in SPvP. Toggling the kit on/off in various circumstances does not activate the boost.
Is rep required? I’d like to join on TS and run the nude nights, but I’ve got some other homies I rep for too.
I liked it and a bunch of people seemed to like it. GW2 was always about dragons — look at its logo — and circling most things back to them is not terrible writing. Whether the story is compelling or not remains to be seen. I think it’s a great idea to work an expansion around.
They were immune to zhaitan’s corruption and super-effected by mordremoth’s.
There’s too much heat on the celestial amulet. It is not as egregious as the forum (or maybe just a few people) seem to be portraying. But, I have not played Ranked in a while.
Super pro game dev tactics: make RNG solution. Additionally, offer it twice as expensive from some vendor. (guaranteed) Few should complain.
Legendary armor, “Hard Mode” dungeons, new PvP maps, and Polymock.
I believe that PvP is about “who cheeses best” and if that’s what GW2 goes for, I think it’s plenty fine. I have two powerful builds I can go to on my main PvP classes, and they both feel overpowered: like the best players I find in PvP. Mesmer just needs a thing that it cheeses very well.
I like the idea. How about score, though, how would it be handled? Still to 500?
Also: payload mode, lol
Piggy, I find it hard to believe such personal attacks are happening without your input. Coming from an ex-troll, the best way to combat a troll is to ignore them entirely. A troll needs an audience.
A thicker skin will serve you and your mates in these matters. Block them and continue playing the match or you will be acting dishonorably. :P
One thing: while it would be ideal for the system to not match you with blocked players, super-pros would block anyone they perceive as bad and just create an undesirable environment.
I think the bug is that the red is in the wrong place. :P This thread helped me find the way, though. (east inward)
I had to wait a few intervals, but my lover and I got him down in two sessions. I can say it was annoying to wait, though, especially on the Redux achievement.
Well of blood needs a bit of love. Could use a higher Healing Power coefficient. I only run it because I have other means of conditional removal and am built for wells.
Personal story is per-character and this is a continuation of the personal story. Big NOPE.
For anyone still reading this, try taxi-ing into your instance! Just say something along the lines of “actually trying to play this” and your party will fill up fast. LFG tool, Open World Content.
And: “No matter how hard you work the forts are just doomed as nothing lasts.” As much as I love the new map, I have to admit things are way too hectic to hold down with two skilled people, which is all I can guarantee a fort. I’d say about five people are needed there at all times to comfortably survive the forts. Ideally the events would scale to happen a little less often, or maybe even something like “tremors are appearing around Red Rock, hurry to Red Rock!”
I don’t think they forgot those instances. Someone said something similar in Heart of the Mists the other day; I would not want to see Nomad bunkers in PvP. Sinister stats, on the other hand…
I feel bad for ANet because a big problem with the playerbase is perception, and I think it’s because of the the tiny updates they drop. (and not even) I see a bunch of posts saying nothing happens for WvW, but we got siege disablers and golem mastery a little while ago, and we have some tweak bug fixes here and there. It’s not like nothing happens, it’s just nothing substantial. People are always talking about wanting expansions because it’s a guaranteed huge release of content, but I think these same people would blow through the majority of it in under two weeks anyway.
I think a bit more transparency will help show that they really are working on something, even if the WvW team is doing other stuff.
The only way, Julie? I think something like EotM “battle groups” is the answer. I don’t know of an MMO that has conjoined the two continents, I’m guessing the biggest impediment is latency.
It’s nice when an update has been received so well that parody topics are made about how bad it is.
I was wondering… I run a flamethrower engineer for SPvP and I haven’t seen any indication that this trait is active.

I imagine Empathy with a spinny chair in the center of 9 PCs, spinning himself in a circle as he hits two keyboards at once, completing the circle in close to 5 seconds.
How dizzy he must get!
