Days are gone of actual PvP with risk. Its all pretty no risk PvP now.
The blatant and obvious name is pretty funny, especially when people have actually found a good place to hide, although they really can’t as everyone can see their name even if they’re at an elevation below when relatively close.
As mentioned above, determining an enemy’s location inside a tower/keep would probably need to be changed if #1 went into effect. Perhaps a red dot flash every 5 or even 15 seconds to give an indication of where an enemy player is, or a big red circle so that at least the controlling side can begin to look for the enemy but not know the enemy’s exact location.
Its funny to borderline obnoxious. I saw a Mesmer at a ruin at the VERY top attacking a group below, outnumbered, yet the larger group was oblivious to his location for a while. If it was not for the stupid nameplate, he could have been up there a bit longer. But of course, the huge tag <Sanctum of Rall Bronze Whatever> was a beacon of come kill me, I am right here!
1. i could kinda see this one but if you were roaming to find people to duel/kill people, this would make it a pain and just make it 10 times harder to scout to see inside of a tower or sweeping like SM or a keep.
2. would be kinda nice but think it would interfere with visibility with long range weapons i.e. treb.
3. no, for a commander to check siege you pretty much have to be on top of them, they would have to fix this for this idea to work.
4. I would like to see a little bit more of this, maybe not to all skills but to most of them i can see this being useful. (hate seeing a thief heartseeker 20 times before it runs out).
Overall interesting ideas but i think it would make the game harder to play in a visual sense.
Name plates. Harder visually? Maybe. But that’s not bad thin in my mind. Considering nobody looks for actual enemies. They look for the huge RED NAMEPLATE a mile away. You can guestimate pretty well how many enemies are over that hill, or how many are behind a wall. Totally silliness, imo.
People could actually setup ambushes. People could dye their armor to match the terrain. People would think twice about attacking a tower with 5 people. It would add more strategy instead of just “Look, blob of red there, kill”. More opportunities to actually scout, flank, and trap.
Siege weapons at night being hard to aim? Again, sure, but still not a bad thing IMO. Again its just brings up more opportunity to use tactics. Attack at night with lower visibility, or during the day where you can see better? Again, making WvW a little deeper than ZERG.
As far as the collision goes, I know it wont happen. Its just a dream.
People being able to completely avoid a fight using skills that are meant to be offensive is annoying. Yes, thieves using Heartseeker is one of them. I know this can be done because on the Ranger skill “Sic Em” you cannot activate it unless you have a target in range. Implementing this to offensive skills would greatly improve the WvW overall. Again, people will have to think before they attack, instead of attacking, finding out they cant win, and running away with no issues.
Of course this doesn’t apply to defensive skills.
1. Remove enemy nameplates, unless they are targeted or within 20ft. of you. Its silly/sad to see an enemy totally hidden behind a tree except for the stupid red name plate saying “HI I AM HERE!!!”.
2. Make day/night cycle. A real one. One that is actually dark.
3. Collision models. Nothing is more ridiculous that 20-40 players stacked in a 2 sq. ft. area. This could add so much more strategy. Of course with nothing but Warriors/Guards/Necros and a few Mesmers it wouldn’t be deep strategy. You would need class balance for this.
4. Skills used to “run away” only useable if a hostile is targeted. For instance, Rangers “Swoop” (1200 range leap) cant be used to run away. Offensive skills to be used offensively and not a way to avoid a fight. No more Warriors never having to worry about losing a fight because they can just run away.
I know # 3 cannot be done in this lifetime. But the others I cant really see not being able to implement.
Just my 2 cents.
As I stated, this change is a lot about low hanging fruit. The problem with ranger is things that are good we don’t want to overpower and the things that are not as good are difficult to change.
This, I think, more than anything else is a huge part of the problem.
You have had 1.5 years and more to pick at these low hanging fruit. You can keep doing that if you like be that will be pretty much like rearranging deck chairs on the titanic. The issues with this class more than any other class wont be fixed without some major work on all of pets, trait lines, and weapon skills.
A fairly large number of rangers have known this and asked for this for a very long time. I’m fairly certain other developers and yourself have been aware of it too. The tweaks are nice but in the end will always fall short and this is why whenever we have some nice ranger changes the prevalent attitude on the forums is “yes, but…”
On a side note I find that the repeated shortbow nerfs utterly inexplicable. The most recent range change was especially baffling. I understand some people think that flavourwise the SB shouldn’t fire as far as the long bow, but how much sense does it make for rangers to throw axes as far as they can shoot a bow?
I think a lot of the changes for this class, including the changes proposed for this patch, testify to a real lack of vision and direction for the ranger. It would be helpful if you were to restate what your vision for the class is (i.e., those lovely paragraphs that tell players what they can expect from a class when we create a new character) and refocus your balancing efforts to make sure this is true for the ranger.
I appreciate that you feel mainland sword leads to unique and high level play as it is, this is true. However, I am not convinced that this is still good for the game. MH sword for the ranger is the only weapon where a new player needs to go change settings in order not to fall to their death and/or leap into a new pack of enemies while on low health. Overall I think that speaks to an error in design.
It’s also the only weapon that keeps you from dodging in its auto attack chain. There are ways to get around that but those are kuldges to get around an issue with the attack chain to allow you to use an extremely important functionality in combat, the dodge.
Sorry about the ramble.
The low hanging furit approach is what you’ve been doing for 1.5 years and for this class, this will not work. Please please please stop doing that, roll up your selves and and get to work on the core issues.
Great post. Accurate, strait forward, and reflects quite a few views of people who play/played this class.
coming from warhammer where the two pet classes, Squig herder (ranged) and White Lion (melee) had a tactic that increased their damage by 25% when they ran without a pet it would be nice to see something like this. Both classes also had tactics that revolved around the pet, one such as the “vengeance” you mentioned for the pet dying, ones for crit damage increase while using a pet etc. We are the pet class but I would just like to have the options I have seen in other games with the pet class. You want us to have “build diversity” this is a good way to create it. Give us the option to gain benefits from the use of a pet, CC, boons, etc, or the option to solo and have a base damage increase and a lack of CC and extra boons. You will see rangers in PvP who run the pets for the CC and ones in PvE who store them for the base damage.
This, this, this.
Also an ex-Warhammer player here…..Squig Herder to be exact, I am so with you on this.
It does not change the core base of the class, and does not take ANYTHING away from the class, it does OP the class.
I remember playing my Squiggie, and sometimes the pet was more useful than raw dps. Example: fighting a small group clumped together and needing the AoE from the Gas Squig. Example: Fighting off a solo Witch Hunter (Thief basically) and wanting the Squig for the knock down. Also, sometimes the pet was pointless, like in PvE on a boss fight that would go down in a second to AoE (sound familiar?). Then the raw dps increase would come into play. OR….when in large RvR (WvW) your pet dies, and instead of losing utility AND dps, you just lost utility, but maintain dps due to this trait.
Its fair, makes sense, and would not break anything including builds.
PS: The pets in WH also hit moving targets….that really helped.
Even though we wouldn’t do it now another shot at Greatsword to discuss
A) 1 chain NDA by giving Vigor.
B) Add evade to swoop…Discuss?
I like both these ideas, ok. But it still seems a bit tacked on.
As much as I don’t like using one hand sword, I do like how interesting the chain attack is on it. The cripple, pet gaining might, is very interesting.
Something similar with the GS would be awesome. Swoop giving evade, and GS auto 3 giving a cripple/vigor/random condition with a damage increase….or something similar. And Maul finally being a blast finisher.
To be honest, I use Axe/Axe + LB for 95% of my time in PvE and WvE, and only use GS in some fractals, due to the low damage output on it.
So they put different colours on and very slightly modify the Hellfire Vambraces then charge 400 gems for it, nice.
My thoughts exactly.
They look really unique! Not at all like the Hellfire stuff with a different color….not….at….all. Also really cool how the light, med, and heavy all look the same. That’s something that will definitely give everyone their own look, for sure. Who does not like green? NOBODY. Everyone loves green and Anet knows that, that’s why you cant dye them….because you love greeeeeen!
Cant wait to stand out from everyone else! Now, all you need is a Legendary GS, since those are super duper rare as well, and you will have the most unique look ever!
Cant roll my eyes enough at people not only paying rl money for these, but thanking Anet as well. My mind is boggled.
The issue is the random AE that’s designed to one shot targets. There is no way for a pet to avoid this damage because they can’t dodge. It’s also a huge WvW problem because even when the pet is left on passive at your side, it ends up killed within seconds just from random AEs being thrown all over. You’re also misundertsanding that all our pet complaints are strictly about them dying.
The larger and more pressing issue is the unresponsive nature of our F2 skills.
And the fact melee pets can hit a moving target. But, yes, everything you posted is correct.
Not sarcasm.
Seriously, how are your pets dying in PvE? With +75% HP? I just don’t see what you guys say are supposedly killing them, and I use Jaguar most of the time.
The only bosses which ever gave me trouble were Mossman, and Arch Diviner, but why would you use a melee pet on them in the first place?
Teq, Butcher-end boss of Honor of the Waves P1, Fire Shaman, Fire Elemental (because pets, ranged or melee, don’t get out of the AoE), Temple of Lyssa last phase, Ashyn- Ascalon fractal boss, …..
Seriously need to go on? Any boss that has an AoE, or a one shot mechanic will kill a pet. Keep swaping is fine, for a little while, but it only prolongs the inevitable.
It would absolutely be OP to buff the pets HP in WvW, in small skirmishes rangers pets suddenly become nearly unkillable, it wouldn’t be OP in the slightest in large scale zerg battles, but in anything other than that? It’d be ridiculously strong.
Any small skirmish I have been in, the pets are ignored. Also, running any melee pet, getting 2-3 hits before you die, or you kill a target the is the norm.
Next you will say pets being able to hit moving targets is OP….
I just want to know if the pet mechanic is “working as intended” like the sword. That way I can keep an optimistic outlook, or give up and move on.
I would still call the Ranger the best range class (even thought it still has room for improvement).
The fact we are even entertaining this question shows there is indeed a very big problem with the state of Rangers at the moment.
Yes, you are right. Can’t disagree on this one.
I recall WoW Warlocks forum and the eternal whines no matter how OP they were, it was an habit they get used to. I’m afraid this might happen to the rangers, some blindly put more focus on what others do than what they are capable of doing.
Nope, Warlocks were complaining for a similar reason rangers are complaining now.
See Rangers? even if the reasons are the same, look how it goes after… years after and the hurt remains lol complaining about the class in another game forum.
Didn’t you bring up Warlocks? Wow….you need a bit more insight before you try and write something.
You are just starting to sound like a fool now.
1) Anet want you to have a pet. Not to be a thief with long bow.
But its ok to be a Ranger with Stealth – Thief
But its ok to a Ranger with Heavy Armor – Warrior
Damage increase with pet dead or stowed isn’t OP. Period.
Of course, just because you say so. Your authority on the matter allows you not to provide arguments to your point. Perfect.
Ps. We don’t have thieves stealth capability and warriors don’t have our damage with bows. Don’t be like that.
No need to go into details, since its already been covered many time.
Warriors don’t have Ranger damage with bows? LOL. You are kidding right?

Yes, people DO play content they don’t enjoy.
Sad fact is MMO’s used to be about exploring, questing, character builds, and challenges. They players would decide what to do, and where to go.
It seems GW2 has taken the Pokémon approach to things. Gotta catch em all! Want those AP’s? Do this shopping list of things. Want that back item? Heres another list to check off. Want a node in your home instance? Well, sir, here is your list.
Its basically becoming tasks. Not gameplay, but tasks. People do them because they don’t want to be left out.
The Bazaar was a good example…..so was SAB of people doing things they didn’t want to do, but did them anyways for the rewards. Hate jumping puzzles? Too bad……if you want this item, get to jumping. Most people sucked it up and did it anyway. Pokémon!
Same with dailies. Missing a daily is a scary thought to most players. You know why they have them? So Anets/NC marketing team can spin those numbers on how many logins they have a day. Its a ploy, nothing more.
Like I said before, GW2 is the first MMO with training wheels.
A-net. My question for you is:
What is your philosophy behind the Ranger? If a warrior has excellent mobility and heavy hitting attacks, a guardian works well with team-mates and is designed to get in a foe’s face and stay there, a mesmer boasts great utility, a thief is slippery to catch and adaptive, a necromancer is the king of condition and boon manipulation, an elementalist is the jack of all trades, and an engineer is just…an engineer — they are weird…
What is the idea behind a Ranger? It would be disappointing to hear they “have a pet.” Because that is not a profession milestone, that is a mechanic to reach a milestone. Since the game’s release, I have been unsure of what gap a Ranger is meant to fill. Some clarification would help somewhat.
I don’t think they know. Seriously.
Remember last live stream? The devs could not find a minor trait in the tree, didn’t even bother to spend all trait points, and it was the shortest “preview” of all the classes.
I don’t think Anet plays the Ranger class. Period. They don’t know first hand the issues with the class it seems.
They know it has a pet. Beyond that, I don’t think they know.
Due to my pet I am able to take on 2 targets at the same time. My pet attacks the one target while I attack the other.
How do you get your pet to attack the “other” target and not the one you are attacking? Please do tell.
Pressing F1 while targeting the one you want your pet to attack will get your pet to attack that target and only that target even if you change your target.
edit: fyi targets going into stealth will not break this from what I seen. The pet will stand around and wait for the target to reappear then reengage. It only resets if the target moves out of range from what I seen.
This does not work for me.
Due to my pet I am able to take on 2 targets at the same time. My pet attacks the one target while I attack the other.

All 10 minutes of running down a path and killing Krait and Nightmare Court!!!! Wow, was so ground breaking!!!! Who would have thought of that I a million years?? I cant wait to play the same thing on my other characters too!!!
And the LORE…..my god the LORE!!! I learned so much about myself, Kessex Hills, Tyria, and other mysterious of the world. It was so….so….in depth!!!
And how awesome was the fact they used 2 female NPC’s for this? Its got to be a first, right? And the way the one in black talks to you like a 1960’s diner waitress! How awesome! That totally sucked me into the LS.
Now….I wonder who is behind all this?!?!? Its such a huge mystery since the past months have been about different evil people, with in depth motives, and cool backstorys right?!!!! Gee, I just wonder….
Anet devs want rangers to work with the pet. If you want to stow it, then you are a ranger who isn’t maximizing potential because rather than use your profession bonus, you let it die or flat out ignore it.
Ok, then work with your pet, good job! IF you want to.
If you don’t want to work with generic, underwhelming, no decent control of, non customizable, cant hit a moving target, dies in a good size WvW fight, sub-par pet mechanic , it would be nice to get a bonus for doing so.
It wouldn’t change all the “pets are great” cheerleaders. It wouldn’t stop anyone from using them, or having to change builds. Nope, all it would do is give the people who can actually see how crappy the mechanic is a reason to play the way they want.
Trying to force people to play with a broken mechanic, just because you do, its rather amusing.
For every 20 complaints theres this 1 post that says they love Anet. What does anet do? Deletes the 20 complaints and listens to the 1 post. Nek minut they loose 19/20 of their playerbase. You know its going to happen.
Some of us are just happy with a game that continuously changes the game world and adds new things and all for the low low price of……. free.
As a person who’s played some very bad MMO’s, this one is doing quiet well in keeping me entertained and wanting me to log in daily. Those bad MMO’s couldn’t do this for even a month after getting the game.
Continuously changing? Seriously?
I think you mean, adding temporary content. Nothing is “changing”. After a year, Scarlet invasions, and 1 new path in a dungeon are the only things that have “changed” the world with the LS….and really have not changed it much. Please let me know if I missed something.
The reason you want to log on everyday? Its called dailies. A shopping list of tasks they feed you in order to log in….so they can take the log-in numbers to the marketing department and spin it to suit there needs.
Once you hit 80, its all about zerging in open world, and WvW (something a monkey can do), and trying to skip as much content in dungeon and fractals in order to increase your time spent/reward. Sounds like work doesn’kitten It is.
All in order to get what? More items? More gold? More things for your character so you can sit in Lions Arch and look cool? Oh joy!
I really miss good PvE content, that took a bit of skill, and good group synergy to do. I really miss good open world PvP where its not just about who has the bigger zerg, but actual communication and group makeup. As of now, GW2 does not offer me any of that.
Anet needs to really think about where they are going. Adding yet another 2week of zerg this, zerg that, congratulations here is your back piece, is not going to cut it when other competitors release their games.
Side note: I remember when zerging something was laughed at in games. When it was a sign of bad players that throw numbers at a problem and let attrition win, because they could not think for themselves, or think outside the box. I noticed now in GW2 zerging is not only accepted, but embraced and encouraged, not just by the players but by Anet as well. Its like GW2 is becoming the first MMO with training wheels.
This Tower “LS” is the Scarlet Invasion, Queens Gauntlet, with a Krait theme.
Look at map, find Commander tag, WP, kill event mobs, collect loot, rinse, repeat.
New AI? Someone mentioned mobs now res other mobs! LOL you don’t ever see it, because the “zerg” kills everything before that can happen. You are not facing a challenge, you are trying to tag mobs to get credit. That is all…..again.
Oh, don’t follow the zerg? Don’t go to Kessex Hills to do the events, right? Sure go to Brisbane. Might be less people, which in turn makes the events very easy. See, the new AI ressing its allies wont be seen again, because there are fewer, and not as many Vets and Elites.
When are some of these cheerleaders going to get some standards? When are people going to realize you throw a different skin on the same setup does not make it different?
When the LS involves running around and zerging the events, I don’t find it interesting, unique, or involving. I guess people who like it are the same ones that do champ trains for hours, and call it playing the game, instead of what it actually is….tedious tasking.
Glad some people are enjoying it, I just don’t see it.
Remove it entirely? Sounds like a balance nightmare.
Nobody said remove it entirely.
How is making a 10% or so dps increase on Ranger with no pet a balance nightmare? Really?
I don’t rage often, but things like “hey, let’s perma-stow the pet” et me sad. Pets are class mechanic.
The class mechanic is sub-par. That’s why people want an alternative.
Since Warhammer was brought up Ill use it as an example. I only played White Lion a bit…..because I played Squig Herder. BOTH pet classes. Both had a pet mechanic…..BUT…. they also had a trait that gave you a bonus to dps by NOT using a pet. For the Squig Herder that meant if you didn’t have your pet out, you missed out on the utilities such as knockdown, poison, AoE, etc. etc. but gained a bonus in the players dps output. This worked very well in all situations. You could choose to use the pet, or not. Either way you went, you didn’t lose effectiveness.
In GW2 you lose your pet, you lose dps, and utility.
Point being, if the pet mechanic in GW2 was not so underwhelming you would not see threads like this. If Anet actually made the pet a real threat (such as a White Lion pet in WH) you would not see threads like this. If they showed they at least are trying to find a way to improve the Ranger class, you would not see threads like this. The fact that Ranger pets cant keep names, or cant be customized, dont grow with levels, shows how far at the bottom pets are on Anets list, imo.
Wait….you are complaining about a 5k crit? Do I have that right?
I can’t tell if this is an elaborate troll or if he’s actually serious about it.
That’s why it is kind of sad….either way.
Still scratching my head here.
Wait….you are complaining about a 5k crit? Do I have that right?
“Pets need to be removed/perma-stowed/bound to BM”
“We need more control over the pet”
Go figure.
I don’t see the issue, or the irony.
Improve pet – Attacks while moving, better AoE resistance, removed delay from F2 skills, pet health bar by the Rangers, and more variety of pet personalization (colors, armors, things that make it look unique).
Perma stow pet – While pet is stowed the Ranger get a small percentage of stats from the pet, a small increase in dps power, maybe a new F2 skill to compensate from not having a pet out.
Make it so you cant stow pet in combat, and can stow pet if both are on cooldown.
I don’t see why these two ideas can co-exist. They compliment each other, as well as open doors to more builds.
I’m not a ranger expert but why is axe even ranged? LB covers long range, SB covers short/medium range. Why not just have have MH axe be melee? A condition melee weapon that goes well with dagger or axe offhand and then the next weapon for rangers could be rifle?
I love the Axe being ranged. Would not want to change that all.
They are so many ways to mitigate damage to your pet. If your pet dies 90% of the time its the failing of the ranger not the mechanism.
Learn when to swap out your pet. Not just to avoid its death or to use its f2 skill but to have access to its initial attack like kd’s and the like. As well as for positioning.
If your pet set off a bomb or a trap. Its the rangers fault for not having their pet attack from their side or having a direct line unobstructed line to their target.
Why do so many Rangers blame their pet. When it’s really the failing of the Ranger himself.
Not only should one love thy pet, but also learn to work with thy pet.
Your pet will die for you. I am not asking you to die for your pet. Just merely understand your pet truly.
So much utter BS in those statements.
I take it you have never played WvW? I take it you have never Teq? Tell me, expert, how do you get your pet to jump over waves? I cant find that button.
1/2 baked mechanic does not make it the Rangers fault.
I don’t put my pet’s in situation I wouldn’t what to be in myself. I run sword/axe and Longbow in WvW. As Far as Teq you and your pet never need to dodge you have more than enough range to be outside of his wave. A group of ranger can easily keep might stacks up and have no trouble with the waves.
Thanks for proving my point you have no idea what you are talking about. Good to know when I see your post, I can pretty much just ignore it.

I have no issue with the axe except for split blade. Unless you are point blank range and all axes hit one target, the bleed is sub-par.
I like the idea you have for Ricochet.
If they combined split blade’s bleed from all 5 axes into one blade, and gave it a bounce 3x, bleeding all targets it hit, it would be much, much more useful.
I agree with everything Atherakhia posted.
So the fact pets can do damage while you are ressing someone makes the sub par mechanic of this class good? Lol.
Engineers, Necros, Mesmers, and others can do it as well…better most of the time. Other classes can do it, and dont even loose their F skills, or loose dps, or have weak power scaling due to their F abilities.
Weak argument.
Engineers often run turret builds?
I dont see how any player got into this ranger class without some inclination that the dps would be tied into the pet. It is a pet class from creation, not through utilities.
Engineers can load a target up with conditions, as well as supply drop. Point being doing damage to a target while ressing someone is not exclusive to the Ranger. It its a horrible justification for the class.
I don’t think anyone got into the class without knowing its a pet class. I know there are some that got into to go the ranged bow route, as the class description says. I know that didn’t work out too well.
The thing is, if Anet wants you to utilize the pet 100%, then it should be worth it. As of now its situational, and pets are on the whole not up to par. The reasons have been brought up tons of times, no need to go into it.
Either makes pets scary, or make the damage from the Ranger scary. I would rather have the first, but if they cant do it, I am good with the latter as well.

I use dual Axes 90% of the time.
Anet loves Warriors….
Just sayin
How does wearing pink help awareness? How does putting pink pixels on an in game character help awareness? Its dumb when the NFL does it, and even worse in a video game. It is a fad, and people think wearing a color helps. HINT: It doesn’t.
Want to really help? Donate to Cancer research. Want to help even more? Set up a folding @ home pc. Or just jump on the pink fad, and try to make it seem like you are “helping”.
Emo punk kid. Nuff said.
Not my cup of tea.
Love the ideas. The Collars make sense. I would love to spend Karma, or my Laurels on something for the pet. Makes sense.
Now, if Anet would actually take these into consideration…..that’s the real battle.
I ask this because after trying sword, and trying to maintain the utility the WH and torch give me personally, I’ve come to the conclusion it is just as worthless as the axe (I normally use):
- #2b misses more often than it lands the hit.
- #3 – see #2b (especially frustrating when “in range”).
- #1 rooting AKA the Masai Dance of Death.
Why does the sword even get advocated?
Because people turn off auto attack, and say it takes skill to use. They will tell you its the highest dps weapon a Ranger can use, even though that dps is counted against a single stationary target. Also they will tell you l2p and the sword doesn’t “root” you you just don’t know how to use it.
Basically.
These ideas are great. They makes sense.
I just don’t expect any type of feedback from Anet since watching the preview live stream you can tell they don’t play the class, nor have any idea how the class works right now.
The way GW2 handles rangers reminds of the way Warhammer handled squig herders. They are both very fun classes but why can’t they get it freakin right and actually listen to some of the gripes from the community on the class.
This x10000. I did extremely well with the SH (btw the best class in any mmo so far)back when it was considered under powered. After they “fixed” every other class, the SH fell to the wayside of more popular classes like the Bright Wizard, Iron Breaker, and Witch.
I am seeing the same thing with the Ranger. Watching the preview was rather disheartening for a few reasons.
1. They had every class set up ready for the livestream….except Ranger. They didn’t even have the traits placed.
2. The guy could not find Companions Defense in the skill tree. He was looking for a major trait. Seriously, these are devs?
3. Time spent on Ranger preview was significantly lower than any other class.
4. When the devs got to Guardian and Warrior you could see they got very excited.
I really thought Anet was pushing for the whole feedback and collaborative development? I have seen nothing implemented, besides the protection on dodge, that most people have been suggesting. From simple things like larger pet pet sizes as the Ranger lvls, to bigger things such as a re worked pet mechanic. Not sure of Anet has anyone in house that likes/plays/cares for the Ranger class.
Did I miss the actual question? It seems like just random observations and comments.
They showed the new “sic em”. You have to cast it before the targets stealths, and its a 4 second reveal.
They showed the new “Companions Defense”. It gives 2 second of protection to your pet as soon as you roll, and it gives you 2 second of protection after the roll.
They also showed the heal on the Fern Hound. About 1k + regen.
Mentioned increase pet health across all pets/minions.
All in all pretty boring, and nothing with actual pet mechanics, f2 pet skill delay, 1h sword wonky root, or anything else. Also the Ranger preview lasted about 2 mins.
Lets hope patch notes are better than what was in the preview.
People who play this game like a job (faster and most efficient way to complete something, fun or not) are the ones that do the most complaining.
People who cant seem to understand that your status in a video game means squat in the big picture are the ones that have issues with how others play the game.
People who play this game as a game, just kick an idiot member, and move on. Which one are you?
If you are in a pug, why in the hell would you expect people to play the way you want?
You seem to be a speedrun ftw~ type….am I right? The type that likes to skip every mob and stack in a corner to do the dungeon faster, to get more loot, in order to do it again? Yeah.
Here is the deal. People can play how they want. Period. They paid for the game as well. They want to do nothing but use a LB? Who are you to complain? Obviously you didn’t know this Ranger, and his words to you were spot on.
While every single “Ranger/Hunter/Scout” type classes in every MMO seem to attract the dolts, it does not change the fact they can still play how they want.
Want a grindy, speedrun, min/max, work instead of play, type people to run with? There are plenty out there. Find them, and be uber leet together.
…You can set them off. In the sound options, there’s a slider for dialogue volume.
Are you serious? I have turned that down and still get the shouts etc. Can you go into more detail? Maybe I am using the wrong slider.
