Just a quick look at the GW2 Gem store Trickster, Viper and Phalanx armor skins and you can see why those Ascended crafted armors look so horrible.

Its Pearl weapons all over again.. they want us to buy skins!

I just wish they made an expansion and just included everything in that!

umm Don’t use the mystic forge I’ve put in about 1500g into it and got nothing.

Saved up to get my Dawn to make Sunrise. I’m done playing the mystic forge its a complete waste of time and money and all these people here will keep blabbing on about how they got 28 Precursors from it well with the same amount of gold Ive got ZERO most of the people in this game as just like me… only 1% are lucky enough to EVER get one from the forge 99% will never get one no matter how much gold they put in.

Best advice would be to save your gold… and wait for Anet to implement a new way to get one.. crafting is coming.. they SAID SO!

The new armor skins on the gem store " were the new ascended armor !!!!

But they decided to make some horrible ugly junk and call it ascended and then release the Nice looking skins on the gem store to make money!

THAT IS THE REASON they are so ugly. Just like pearl weapons

Ascended Armor is 100% for 2013, New Legendaries and per-cursor weapon crafting was planed for 2013 but Anet have now said they will do there best but it may end up coming early 2014.

My guess is 2014 for anything “good” and for 2013 we get the worlds most ugliest TOP Tire armor in the history of MMO’s

This reminds me of the crafted weapon skins.. SO ugly that it forces you to skin it.

So they are going down the same path with ascended armor.

You you should be fine if you MAXED out power!

Max Power on trait points, Power on runes, Armor, trinkets, weapons ext.. Power being the primary stat on everything you have and it should be ok damage wise.

You will do zero crit hits or crit damage but your attacks will be consistent at a very high base damage amount.

“Power is the most important stat for damage and scales better then any other stat”

Luck = BAD
Skill/Dedication = Good… why cant this be the norm.

They will introduce it when 50% of the player base start to quit! but i’m guessing by that time it will have been too late!

The thing that allot of you guys dont understand is that a precursor weapon is ONLY 25% of the Legendary weapon! .. so it SHOULD not cost 70% of the total

Making them FREE tomorrow will only drop the cost of a Legendary from 1800g to 1000g .. and that will not make them worthless or make them a worse END game content it will make them so much more reasonable

At the start of the game a legendary weapons greatest cost was TIME in doing the world completion, Amassing the Karma for Clovers/Shards and Gift of Battle. Cost in Gold was round 320g in materials and precursor.

Now its 95% about the GOLD, GOLD, GOLD in precursor weapon, in inflated T6 materials, in Charged lodestones/ecto’s and in PRECURSOR WEAPON ..

This is not how it should be and we would be better off going to back how it used to be. My guess is that if the precursor weapon was to drop in value tomorrow all other parts of the legendary would skyrocket and we would be back to normal on overall cost anyways… STOP trying to scare ANET from doing this! just so you Trading post flippers can keep making a bucket load on these items.

Anet should read my post and ignore everyone else scare mongering about the END of the game if they make these over inflated random luck items more reasonable.

So this is my main character that i use for FOTM L48, WvW, PVE and Dungeons.
Not sure if I’ve got a good mix of stats or not but ive been using this build for a very long time. With ascended armor coming ( locking us on one stat set for armor )

Hi, I’ve been running this build for a very long time now and was hoping for some advice on how to improve or fine tune it?

I find it easy to kill someone in a 1vs1 (WvW) and the support in dungeons is good.

Should i be changing things around at all? my damage is not bad and if i bother dodging attacks i almost never go down. When Ascended armor comes out should i stick to solders (Power/Vitality/Tightness) or move to something else? i was also thinking about divinity runes on the new ascended armor! but would the extra stats from divinity be worth giving up the bonus boons from Lyssa? thanks in advance.

Legendary is 1400g and takes 6 months to get 1.

Not true. The price can cost anywhere from 120g to thousands, it depends on the person and how they acquire it. 120g being the base cost for runestones and the craft recipes that every legendary requires.

When I made bolt (9 months into the game or so, RNG finally blessed me) I spent 300-400g not sure anymore. 144g to lodestones and maybe 60g to materials. Rest to base cost.

When I made howler about 2 months after, I spent 410g, 200g went to the precursor, 90g on materials. Rest to base cost.

1400g is for one of the desirable ones “today” with the current cost of buying all the mats!

Remember weather your either farming the mats of buy them from the Trading Post at the end of the day you would have spent the “value” of those mats .

If you make a Legendary with farmed mats you could have also sold those very same mats and precursor and and be sitting on 1400g in the bank

I think making ascended (pink) items the new top level gear was the right choice to bridge the massive gap between exotic and legendary but to add so many restrictions and not add those same restrictions to the other tiers is wrong.

Just so you know, legendary weapons had exotic weapon stats.

Now ascended is here, legendarys now have ascended weapon stats.

“Legendary” is not a tier, it is a group of skins.

There WAS NO gap to close, and no reason to make this tier of gear, let alone time gate the kitten out of it, killing off alts.

Ascended is not required but its nice to know your at the top level gear and at your optimum potential. They should stop forcing us and just make it the new get anywhere exotic replacement.

When salvaging “any exotic” Armor or weapon you ony have a chance to recover

1. Material used, ore, silk, Leather
2. 0-5 Glob of Ecto or 0-3 Glob Dark Matter
3. The attached Sigil or Rune.

Nothing else! inscription used to make crafted items are not salvageable.

“Trinket’s are the only thing that give a chance to recover the jewel used to creat the Trinket.” This can be from either Trinkets dropped in the open world or crafted

Same as normal… u first pick that skin then the stats then the sigil.

Unless you trans mutate an ascended with another ascended there’s no need for a 4th option as u only have one infusion stat setup to pick from.

“Ascended weapons have 4 stats, /Skin/Stats/Sigil/Infusions”

Nothing overrides the other when transmuting unless its of the same catagory and in that case you will have the option to pick from option A or Option B

I saved up 535g and waited a month for a buy order for Dawn to be filled! in the end it wasn’t really worth it and i couldn’t care less about having Sunrise.

The grind fest just KILL’s the fun in this game I’m sorry but it just does!

Average selling price 26s each … rage from 19 to 36s at the moment more when ascended armor comes out.

Fractal weapons are just exotic skins and i think that’s how they will stay.

They were an experiment for testing, they don’t even work like a skin should and require a transmutation crystal to add useful stats to them..

If you want an ascended fractal weapon u will need to just use its skin on an ascended weapon.

A long time ago it cost me 250 armored scales to get my back piece along with playing FOTM for like 1 hour to get a vial of condensed mist essence drop.. its not TOO bad. and you dont have to spend too much time to acquire a back pack. OUT of FOTM.

It’s NOT! A problem and ANET are happy for you to do it.

Some friend could even give you one for FREE and it would be fine also.

I actually think that’s why getting from 400-500 is such a pain in the butt.

It’s not so that we can craft ascended weps…it’s so that we can craft precursors.

That update is coming before the end of the year.

I’ve thought hard about this and it simply makes no sense why being able to craft a precursor hasn’t been in the game since day 1.

ANET simply doesn’t want to remove its best gold sync: The mystic toilet.

If enough people voice up, or quit, they will get the msg. I’m surprised they haven’t already though… I’ve never seen a developer hold onto such a bad design before. Usually devs try to improve the game, not keep one of the worst aspects of it up and functional…

People have been getting ascended weapon boxes from the champ loot hording pre patch! Very rare

My guess is that precursors will hit 2000g sooner hen people think!

YES, you can farm any level above 20+ and get a shard drop!

Best to just hop into a 5 man 20+ FOTM group though as you will tag enemies and still get the loot when someone else kill’s them.. don’t worry about shards.. they will drop eventually and are completely useless after you have your +5 AR on the rings i have over 60 of them.

Although i did around 1000 FOTM runs to get a full set of Fractal weapon skins for my Warrior

Greatsword, Longbow, Rifle, Harpoon and Spear LOTS of L48 runs yey.

Also edned up with a sheeetload of skins i didn’t want and a gazillion ascended rings lol

I’m almost at the point of being able to make TWO Legendarily.. only thing I’m missing are the precursors.

I’m in the same boat as “everyone” else now where dusk is at 900g and Dawn is at 750g
soon they will be 2000g each and Anet will still have done nothing about it

Prices are still sky high for precursor weapons and Anet is still doing nothing about it..
So many people are stuck on this last item before they can make a legendary.
The price will soon hit 2000g on the TP if Anet doesn’t do something about it.

Now before someone goes on about grinding gold and to just buy one of the TP, This shouldn’t be the only way to do it.

Playing the mystic forge is also a bad way to go about it, a guy in my server put in 3600 rares a few weeks ago got nothing. I put in 1000g worth of exotics and got nothing.. the mystic forge is horrible nightmare when it comes to precursors and Anet NEEDS to make more ways to acquire one.

People are getting VERY angry about this subject and i grantee its going to hurt GW2

Farming for gold can get you allot per day.. but the only thing that costs allot of gold and requires this in this game is the Legionaries.. better to play for fun and go for ascended weapons that will be much more accessible.

well i started with 1 gold a month ago after blowing 1000g on the mystic forge trying to get a precurser ever since this game was released. i was never the lucky one and got a drop or on my first use of the forge.

This game has nothing to do with how long you’ve been playing and more about how lucky you are. ( a new player could have a dusk drop and be 800g richer in a matter of seconds playing this game due to RNG ) I’ve now saved up enough to buy Dawn, but the price has just skyrocketed so I’ll wait until after the patch to try and go for a legendary

fingers crossed its cheaper.. all i know is it cant get any more expensive before Arena net steps in and corrects it in some way.

You must remember they WANT us to keep playing this game but know very well allot of people may LEAVE due to the economy directly impacting their enjoyment

They also do not want to upset people who have already got a precursor by making it TOO easy to acquire.. i think a nice 200-300g will be the standard price going forward after the patch… that’s my guess anyways

CPU and GPU are 50%-100% on full load .. same as always

All other games run fine, all Benhcmarks are normal. 3D mark, Prime, everything, Its a Gigabyte costume 3 fan heatsink OCed GPU the temps are lower then anyone else online. i have 6x 140m fans in my Fractal R3. CPU is at 32/c and GPU is at 60/c cool as ice! 100% full load idles at 40/c

I’ve played GW2 for 9 hours without stopping.. not a single problem.. i exit, come back into it hours later and its 1-2FPS.. restart pc and its back to normal.. this is in no way a thermal problem its like the HD7970 drivers are not kicking in and the GPU is running with Standard VGA drivers.

Already tried everything suggested.. the PS is an SilverStone Strider Gold Evolution 750W 95% efficient….all my parts are top qty i always get the most reliable

I’m pretty sure it is a corrupted driver thats not switching on because I’ve reset the videocard ( screen flickers off and on while in windows ) and that also fixed the problem ) NO need to restart .. ( restarting also resets the GPU driver )

No permanent fix for this.. thats why i’m thinking its a format time :0(```` doh!

Eternity update will be the LAST thing on the to DO list at Anet

The reason being it would only benefit the 25 people who have already made one.
Anet is more worried about the 250,000 people who will be trying to get asended weapons and armor.. those are the items they will be spending their time on.

Also NEW legendarily for the hard core players to go for.. Why would they update something for the people who have already got it that wont be putting in the time to do it again?

I’m a SUPER MEGA HARD CORE PLAYER 4 to 14 hours a day Ive played every day from the start of GW2 with over 1000g into the mystic forge and almost 1000 FOTM L48 runs and still haven’t got a legendary precursor drop or the Fractal skin i want.

So cry me a river! you were able to MAKE 2 Legendarily .. When most of us who play MORE and put in 3 times as many hours HAVE horrible luck and have nothing

Also took me 1000 Globs, shards, coins and crystals to get 250 Mystic Clovers

Ive got this strange problem with my i7 2600, 16gb ram and HD7970 3GB…
I play at 60FPS max everything when i first boot my PC.

Close the game back to desktop and come back to it a few hours later… My frame rate is now a 1-3FPS slideshow… Only way to fix it is to exit and restart my PC.

No other game or programs are effected, ONLY GW2

Played GW2 for over 12 months problem free running off a Samsung 830 256gb SSD and Sandisk exteme 240GB SSD Both SSD’s are fine and the Gigabyte 7970 OC runs everything else great, PC has been rock solid stable, virus free and runs cool.

This issue started at the patch that introduced the currency wallet.
I’ve tried everything now.. Removed firewalls, all virus software, old GPU drivers, new drivers, all background applications no longer run or startup with windows full system restore to when it didn’t have this problem and more, I’m at the the point of doing a full new windows 8 install to fix this issue.

I know this will most likely fix the issue ( IT ALWAYS fixes the issue ) but just wanted to ask the question first.

I only play FOTM L48.. its the only thing i like doing in this game and is the most fun..

almost at my 1000th FOTM run. I really wish they never capped it at Level 50 and hope they bring it back to 80+ again like the good old days

Will make all the people who haven’t been running FOTM very upset. I dont see it happening. Would love to see it but I’m not holding my breath.

Also Fractal weapon skins are the only skin left in the game that shows TRUE skill.. and not i farmed an easy COF P1.. 1000 times to get my Sunrise, Twilight greatsword
