I have a lvl 80 human mesmer and a lvl 80 norn mesmer. I made the human one after the norn one. Can you give a guess on the reason why? sigh

Putting cultural armor on the gem store for half the price of what it is… insulting. Flat out… insulting.

Can anyone give a logical reason why ArenaNet decided to put human t3 light cultural armor in the Gem Store that has special effects and cost LESS than the 119g you would have to pay in the game for regular human t3 light cultural armor?

I can also say that the Mesmer’s #2 ability where you throw Eternity at the target does not have an altered look either. It looks like the basic holographic purple blade. This is in stark contrast to where I could throw Twilight at my target.

Sorry you feel that way. I am extremely excited as I had a blast going through World 1 and first zone of World 2 with my best friend. Fun times exploring and figuring out how to solve things together. Tribulation mode sounds like it’ll be fun and a very welcoming challenge.

The Storm Wizard weapons look like they will look really cool as well.

It’s not an exploit at all, even as admitted by ArenaNet. In their pre-edited patch notes, they stated that they made Deadeye harder to “reduce farming efficiency.” Nothing about fixing an exploit… or else they would have fixed it a long time ago.

Second, if he had not been such a jerk about declaring that the arena was his only and for me to leave, I would not have stayed around. Well, I for one find it somewhat rude to hijack someone else’s farming arena. Polite people find their own arenas where they don’t disturb anyone.

There are a limited amount of arenas that often will have 2+ people at each one of them at times… it was one of those times. He was by himself and telling people to get lost because it was “his arena” and he didn’t want to share it with anyone else. I find that rude.

Don’t forget the karma weapons exploit that totally wasn’t an exploit. It was totally the devs’ fault for putting it in the game like that! Those who took advantage were totally just playing it as the devs implemented! (yeah right)

The low price of karma weapons at that time was clearly an oversight. I’m yet to see any indication that the developers have made some mistake here despite having patched the gauntlet twice.

If it was truly an exploit, why would the solution to the exploit be to make the exploit harder? That would make absolutely no sense at all.

I find it really funny at those people who are saying that it’s an exploit and people farming are exploiters. It’s clearly not an exploit. If you check another Dreadeye thread, the person there stated in the patch notes that Anet fixed Dreadeye so to “reduce farming efficiency.” That shows that they know that people are farming, are fine with people farming, and want to make it harder for people to farm him.

It’s NOT an exploit in any way. If it were, Anet would not have provided this “fix” and nothing else.

My account was hacked into and one of the things that the hacker took was 1650 gems (50 gems leftover from before + 1600 gems purchased on Jan 28th). He also took my Baby Quaggan Backpack that I had in my mail that was delivered from ArenaNet but I never removed it. Will I receive my gems and my Baby Quaggan Backpack back after the account restoration?

Also, is there a reason why setting up Google Authentication automatically removes Email Authentication?

When I discovered that my account was hacked into, I had absolutely no idea how it was possible since I set up Email Authentication way back in August when it was first released. I even received an email that confirmed that I had it on my account. When the Google Authentication was released, I felt that it would be a good idea to set it up on my account to add another layer of protection. After setting it up, I ran into some annoying issues, so I decided to remove it because I knew that Email Authentication would be good enough. I did not know until this morning that Google Authentication automatically removed Email Authentication from my account. I was basically running without any sort of protection for months, which eventually compromised my account.

It makes me wonder how many other users are out there right now without any kind of protection because they also ran into issues with Google Authentication and decided to take it off while thinking that Email Authentication would be good enough. This kind of thinking along with easily missing that bold text juxtaposed with regular text, which does not stand out too well with this font, is not a good combination.

I would highly, highly recommend that the text be in bold AND be in red so that it shows up very clearly.

This sure is the grudge tier. CD is out and there’s even more bickering, and now we have Maguuma fighting against each other LOL.

Tier 2 will be even worse.

I am from CD and am against any kind of merging. I would much rather have it happen organically rather than having forced guild transfers. One of the things that I love about CD is that it has been one of the most stable servers after its initial exodus oh so long ago. I would hate to break that stability with mergers. I really like where CD is right now and am perfectly happy with it in the 3rd-4th tier area. That is where CD has had some of the best match ups ever since servers went 7 day resets.

When we had a guild meeting, and talked about a lot of different servers, the consensus easily was to join FA because they are similar in fighting spirit, respectful of their opponents, and there was nothing really AGAINST them except the concern that they might not receive us.

As soon as we transferred I started getting whispers of welcome, and there are pages on the community saying the same thing. FA is the place we wanted to be but didn’t know it until it became obvious that IOJ can’t be saved. We went down with the sinking ship of IOJ from T1, through months of losing now to T4.

Since there were WvW focused guilds on IOJ that wanted TOUGH competition but also not ridiculous queue times FA just made sense.

Reminds me so much of when several guilds transferred to IoJ that helped bring it to tier 1.

As someone who saw IoJ rise into the one week they were in tier 1 and heard so freaking much about IoJ server pride and about how no matter how hard IoJ falls, they will stick together because THAT is IoJ… this is very saddening.

It’s such a different picture now of IoJ. I am honestly truly saddened to see it go down shamefully by the mass exodus of guilds. I hope those of you who truly have the IoJ server pride that you guys were once known for find a comfortable spot in whatever tier you end up in.

I am actually very happy with Wintersday overall. I’m surprised you haven’t mentioned the activities at all. I really enjoy all of them, especially the Bell Choir Ensemble since I am one of those “musically-inclined individuals.”

Wintersday (and Halloween) is far more than you would ever get in another MMO in terms of holiday events.

I think the extra 200 cogs are for those who completed some of the dungeons and got the frames they need but don’t want to go on for more. Also it’s set to 200 so those who did complete all dungeons won’t be making a third toy as they said all players have the opportunity to make maximum of 2 toy minis.

From the five cities and Tixx’s gift, you end up with 700 mystical cogs, which is an unusual number because you need 750 to be able to make three toys. I was just wondering if there is a way to get the other 50 mystical cogs to make a third toy. I haven’t done the Toypocalypse dungeon yet as I’m waiting to do it later today with some friends, so if it attainable there, then please let me know!

Also, is there a way to get another 250 Wads of Enchanted Stuffing or Drops of Magic Glue for the third toy? I have enough Wads of Enchanted Stuffing to make three toys but only enough Drops of Magic Glue to make two toys.

Do what Isle of Janthirs have always been toting around as never giving up and certainly not complaining when the going gets rough.

I’m sorry… but this thread is just sad. I’ve completed it now over 45 times. You just need the skill to do the jumping puzzle. I absolutely love it. It’s an amazing challenge that I’m glad is not catered to everyone and really tests your ability at jumping puzzles.

I have completed the tower over 40 times now. It’s so easy now that I don’t even really think about it anymore. It just takes patience and obviously skill.

Today, I was able to do it 27/29 times.

Is there any proof that ArenaNet stated that they would not have any names shown for the sake of casual players? I have never heard of that before. I feel like people are just spreading rumors about what supposedly ArenaNet said. I could be wrong on this, but I’m just going with what I (haven’t) heard from them.

Also, there seems to be a lot of people who think that no names shown in this kind of PvP is something that has only recently occurred. DAoC (2001 MMO) had this exact same thing with their RvR… which is what WvW is based on. It’s not like suddenly an MMO in today’s time is doing something that has never been done before and that is somehow representative of the “carebears” of today “ruining” MMOs. Mythic had their reasons of why not to show names in RvR (and instead show off realm rank titles) and I’m sure ArenaNet has theirs (hopefully will introduce WvW titles).

Umm.. first of all, Dware was wrong about names showing in DAoC. WvW is modeled after DAoC’s RvR… along with having no names shown at all and no communication possible at all between realms (although it is possible in WvW). This isn’t some sudden change that has never happened before in MMOs.

I’m really surprised that you played DAoC for 7 years and don’t remember that no one’s names ever showed. It was impossible to talk to people of other realms. That is why there wasn’t any verbal harassment. Perhaps you didn’t actually play it for 7 years?

If names showed, you better believe that there would be verbal harassment. There already is with you being able to speak with people from the other servers if you get their account name and friend them that way. Then you get their character name and can speak to them as much as you want. Most people don’t know this though thankfully.

It looks as though it’s pretty much set that CD will fall down to tier 3 and ET will just eek out the last spot in tier 2. I would much rather prefer CD in tier 2 and ET in tier 3 because ET is definitely not a tier 2 server in their makeup. I feel really bad that ET will have to deal with another matchup where they are inherently not suited for because of the mass exodus of WvW players from ET.

To be fair… it would’ve never resulted in getting the 3rd slot in tier 1 if it wasn’t due to the massive departure from ET elsewhere (many of whom went to IoJ) and due to the massive departure as well from HoD. Otherwise, it most likely would’ve have stayed with IoJ at #5 and CD falling back down to 3rd tier. The timing is just perfect.

We were able to take back a good portion of the maps today, but we simply can’t do anything to defend due to the zergs from IoJ. We’re simply outnumbered.

I logged out yesterday to IoJ holding 99% of the map with both sides struggling to get a hold.

I log in today and CD has half the pie.

Did IoJ give up? gasp Or are they not what they claim to be?

Despite popular belief, not everyone on CD “gives up” some of us have been there since day one, fighting every day (when can log on) win, loose, draw, cubstomp.

Every server has its share of people who “give up”, even IoJ has its fair share of people who stop fighting when it gets tough. It just has a higher percentage of people who do fight back than other some other servers.
