On Botting and What We’re Doing About It

Doesen’t look like much has changed on Sanctum of Rall. Bots much older than this post are still enjoying their circle train run infront of the gate events out at the shores.

Outside of raid instances which I haven’t seen. This game offers more of a variety of “endgame” activities than most mmos I’ve ever played, including years of WoW.

So I hear you don’t really like mmos but though you would never admit it, got soo addicted to one of them that it left your online gaming existance bitter & pointless.

You can scratch Rata Sum off this list. I often go to Rata Sum to craft because it’s layout is much more convienent than Lions Arch.

The camera needs work, they know it, and now they’re making excuses to not have to do that work.

Did you miss the part in the OP where he said they were fixing some bugs with the camera in the next patch?

Issues with the camera is more than “fixing some bugs.”

I don’t know what the dev guy john is talking about. I like this game as a whole, but it has the worst camera I’ve ever seen in a modern mmo. Its NOT comparable to WoW’s. Its more comparable to N64’s golden eye.

I also don’t understand the fanboys defending this either. Its like saying you’re saying you want this otherwise good game to continue have N64 golden eye’s camera.

The camera needs work, they know it, and now they’re making excuses to not have to do that work.

Underwater Combat: The issues I have with it

Again, I’d be willing to bet the classes who “love underwater combat” are the classes who can generally tank most things underwater. The rest of us are loving our carpal tunnel syndrome from all the 5-15 minute slow motion strafing sessions.

This must really depend on your class. IMHO the engineer blows in underwater combat. (no pun intended) Underwater in closed quarters with the camera function being what it is, is an absolute joke to me. I get through it when I have to for the sake of achievements.

The underwater worlds themselves are great but I think the underwater gameplay needs alot of work and don’t find it the least bit enjoyable but hey, what do I know?

Botting seems to be a real big issue for a real small demographic.

Most people either hardly see it or can’t be bothered.

Level 80 Minion Master here; did my 100% completion thing without any real complications. I was usually able to run through a crouded area with them ridiculous respawns.

So in otherwords, as long as you kept running for your life while your half dozen minions kept aggro you “usually” didn’t die.

So I ran through the rest of the zone and through Malchor’s. Easy, no deaths. Just learn to play your class.

I’m calling you on this. Theres no way you Malchor’s map 100% solo with zero deaths.

You might have not been in an actual group, but you had to have run some of it alongside other players.

You’re not suppose to be able to buy EVERYTHING in a week or two. Really getting tired of these whine threads about bots and how they keep players from getting or doing anything. I’m making gold and getting items reasonably well and bots aren’t hurting me at all.

No, you’re supposed to be able to buy gems for real money and exchange that for gold to buy EVERYTHING in a day or two. This is why your argument is truely invalid.

Why would you change this? This makes it so grouping is more necessary.

Why would you advocate for any game to be totally devoid of any soloable end of game content?

BTW, in orr its a combination of layout, mob density, and respawns. As an 80 engineer I feel like I need a group at all times anymore and its getting frustrating. I’ve felt less tense in the open world on a pvp server being stalked by a stealthing ganker than in some areas I’ve experienced in orr so far.

You act like races like the Asura don’t actually tell you they want to take over the world. And the humans were the same way when they initially came to Tyria. While the charr on the other hand seem to only want to keep Ascalon besides the Flame Legion which are exactly the type of charr you’re talking about.

I think the more truthfull version of that is the Asura plan to inherit Tyria, not conquer it. Theres a big difference between those two lines of actions.

The Charr sucks, they make even orcs in most other fantasy stories look really nobel.

Most of you are just making up whatever you want it to be and ignoring what is actually explained through the game at which point this conversation becomes pointless.

Meh I’m lvl 47 and nothing in game to my knowledge told me the next dungeon was lvl 40, so now I feel dumb for having to spend 40 minutes for half a level.

Actually you get in game mails inviting you to each dungeon the moment you become the appropriate level. The mail even includes a button that shows you where it is on the map.

You do the dungeons untill they aren’t rewarding for your level. You can also do what you suggested and if you’ve outleveled a dungeon hit it up one time for that shakespearean story that was written by an eight year old. I could also dare to say you can hit up a lower dungeon to help a friend or guildie and you’re not just one shotting grey mobs while the rest of the group sacrifices fun to be carried. Its fine the way it is.

TLDR,

This is soo not a big deal in the grand scheme of things I can’t believe I’m seeing a complaint about it. Personally I already have an idea of which colors I would like to try out on which characters I play thus don’t all my alts to have access to every color to begin with. Half the colors or more are ridiculas anyway.

Yeah fincrn once again, the Asura quite embrace their proverbial higher power and are the most mystical race on the map. “We all have a place in the eternal alchemy.” They don’t refuse or deny anything.

In truth, Id say alot of Atheists are probably closer to the Asura belief in Eternal Alchemy which is more a religion of Science.

I would disagree. Asura are magical beings like leprechauns or more appropriately, Dobby from Harry Potter. They use magitech. The Asura are the embodiment of magic according to them in game. Their “science” IS magic. Their name for that proverbial higher power is the eternal alchemy and their science & religion aren’t two different things. Asura are the most mystical race in Tryia as well as the most advanced.
