EDIT: I just realized this does not really have much discussion value, anybody want to add what they think might be cool as an animation reward? For example instead of the character twirl around and then throw the object, he/she would kick it/force push it/fire an energy beam to blast it toward the destination etc.
tl;dr: Add in different character animation to show character progression in addition to more elaborate armor sets.
To be specific, I am talking about WvWvW or Dungeons, basically any content that is considered to be difficult. I am fine with having armor skins as progression, as your character becomes stronger and more capable, the armor he/she wears shows that accomplishment from doing XYZ. It makes sense.
However as of now, only the armor evolves but not the characters themselves. For example as a level 1 guardian, if I were to be knocked away, I would fly off and faceplant into the ground which is understandable. However if I am a level 80 guardian who has been in all corners of Arah, the same thing still happens. Wouldn’t it make more sense for the character to react a bit better to getting knocked off after all the adventure? For example maybe a back-flip when getting knocked back, instead of using both hands to hold up a rock, the character now can grab onto it with one hand or levitate it if you are a magic based class?
While there are quite a few armor sets, I think most of us only has a few that we really care about. There is little point to collecting all the other pieces because there really isn’t a nice way of showing them off. So why not add in these different animations? It shows character progression, it is not a mandatory grind as there would be very little if any effect in game play and it gives players an additional incentive to do content #123.

https://www.guildwars2.com/en/events/halloween-2012Says clearly here: The Black Lion Chest is getting a spooky upgrade for Halloween. Between October 23 and November 5 each Black Lion Chest you open has a chance to give you one of six exclusive Halloween-themed weapon skins!
Isn’t this kind of thing common sense anyway? Don’t blame Arenanet if you fail to notice an extremely common business practice in MMOs.
Look, when you see a commercial saying “BUY X NOW FOR A CHANCE TO WIN XYZ!”. Did you honestly expect it to get it easily? No. This is common sense we are talking about, not some nefarious scam to take your money.
The word exclusive means it’s just for Halloween.
The word ‘rare’ or ‘elusive’ would have been clearer.Look, you have a point: every sales pitch sounds like that, thats what sales pitches are.
But if you think this game can afford falling to the standards of second hand cars salesmen’s salespitches… you’re wrong.
It’s extremely risky for an MMO to disapoint the majority of it’s players, especially when it concerns selling things for real money.Thin ice, real thin ice…
I am sorry but if people honestly lack the common sense to believe that the skins from a random gamble box is going to be common because of the word “chance”. Then I honestly do not know what kind of world you live in.
The developers made a triple AAA MMORPG with 0 monthly fees and from the looks of it, quality AND frequent updates judging from their plans(Nov big release as well). But because they use the word chance in describing the rate of acquiring skins, now they are somehow trying to squeeze every last drop of your hard earned money.
You guys are killing me here.

Could you stop the argument about ‘no sub fee’ please.
This always makes it sound as if the dev’s are doing us a favour by doing all this.
They aren’t, they’re making money. It’s their job to keep the game running, or they will never sell another game again. or an expansion box for that matter.
You call us naive for believing they would give decent droprates on event items, yet you somehow think that a no sub fee game isn’t about making money? The moment they have to throw in money to keep the game running, they will pull the plug. Sub fee free or not.
yes they did a great job on many fronts, and no it’s not perfect on all fronts.
But end of the matter is that they are selling a product, not giving us their charity.
and my point is simple. You believe they are somehow deviously scamming players out of their money due to greed. They chose to make the game entirely free when they could have easily charged 15 bucks a month just like every other MMO and people would have paid for it. Now because they used the word CHANCE, the company is now suddenly EA level while obviously great companies like Valve, the maker of games like Dota2 and hat-for, I meant Team Fortress 2 would NEVER do something like this right? Face it, this is common sense, the literal definition of the word chance is unpredictable. It seems common sense is something that people seems to be lacking at the moment, probably due to how late it is.
You cannot talk about how greedy they are when everything they have done have been in the complete opposite direction, this include from game design to business practice.

Bring stun breakers, I take two just for AC and if I get pounced. Stun break, dodge away, switch to ranged and heal up a bit from sustain and dive right back in. Not really a big problem.
The point of racial skills are that they are there for flavor and can be used to fill missing utility(For example, my Charr warrior feels lonely without the Warband support, although Thieves Guild is stronger.) They are weaker than profession utility and you are not suppose to use them because they are insanely good.
I understand the reasoning, but if any single skill is completely dominated by another(in all categories, cost, amount healed, reuse timer and underwater capability), it is useless and a waste of development time. It might as well not be in the game at all.
Flavor skill or not, there should be some incentive for using it.
There really isn’t other for the looks(which I think can be buffed somewhat), the entire point of racial skills are for flavor. If anyone of them are even closely to useful, it should be nerfed to the ground as it would give advantage to that race.
There actually is a follow up. She comes with you to Orr.
I finished the storyline and never saw her.
I finished the story line too and she came with me on one mission. Hell she even brought a message from the friend too from your personal story.
There actually is a follow up. She comes with you to Orr.
Specific dungeons:
1.) AC Story mode is too difficult….for beginners. After I learned the mechanics of the place, I can finish the place without dying even once if I concentrate hard enough. However it is probably a bit too harsh for players who just reached level 30 and wish to try their first dungeon. I am a fan of having Brimstone shout tips such as MELEE THE BLOODY RANGERS or THROW ROCKS AT THE LOVERS etc instead of actually toning down the difficulty.
2.) The Manor’s story mode and the search for Seraph route are way too easy especially compared to AC story mode. Not only that, most of the fights are more tedious than interesting simply because the HP pool is a bit too high.
3.) CoF route 2 is waaay too easy, the prison warden probably needs to summon the devourer a bit sooner, the flame turrets in the bomb run need a bit more damage so groups actually have to coordinate. Some mobs need to actually attack the Asura when he is trying to plan the bomb, the final boss needs to do more damage overall.
4.) Arah story mode’s final boss is bugged, pretty sure he is suppose to spawn adds. Instead everybody just spammed 2.
5.) HotW story mode’s last boss, while he is pretty simple, the bird attack is somewhat dumb as the counter to that is pretty much dodge and have blocks like Guardian aegis. Having a skill that 100% a player with very little counter is not a great idea. I am in favor of toning down the damage on that or giving it more counters like making the birds a projectile and buff up his other aspects.
General feedback
1.) Reward is a bit too low. I am fine with wiping over and over again and figure out the mechanics of the place, but I do expect at least a yellow after a particular difficult encounter. There is at least one in every simple explorable dungeon where it has a special and difficult mechanic. That would probably be a decent place to give out an ok reward as well at the final battle.
2.) Graveyard rushing, I am actually ok with the mechanic as long as it is not too stupid. For example AC story mode, last boss, the WP is 5 feet away from the boss. That should probably be fixed.
3.) Skill check bosses, there are bosses in dungeons with very little mechanic but tons of hp, example is the enrage risen abomination in Arah. I call those skill check bosses similar to gear check in WoW because they are incredibly easy if you know what to do but wipes you if not. The fight sometimes just drags on, I am fine with increasing their damage as long as the hp is decreased as well. I heard the champion mobs guarding Licipus(sp) has been lowered to silver, that is what I like.
4.) Some kind of grouping system would be nice, if not then at least advertise a bit about the current grouping system under the contact tab. Right now very few people knows about it which destroy its entire purpose.
