ANet has always said that Achievement Points would be the basis of some sort of reward and now people are flipping out because they didn’t do the achievements before the reward was in place. Whose fault is that? A new players will lag behind a little in receiving the rewards, sounds like something to work for. The only barrier at this point for the rewards seems to be time and the fact that people don’t want to wait just goes to show how impatient they are.
Besides, we don’t even know what the rewards all are yet or at what level they can be achieved.
I am beyond disappointed. I am mad. I have wasted a couple hours trying to get through this multiple times only to have the dungeon be bugged at the final boss.
Second time through second time with this bug. Now you are just wasting my time Anet. Come on, you can do better.
I don’t mind 1v1 vs a thief. Often the fights for me are close but if we both go down, I win.
First … absolutely first thing to do is to target the thief and F1 the pet so it will stay on target no matter what. I run LB and Sword/Torch and keep a trap equipped. When it is time to fight the thief, it is time for melee mode. With the sword evades and regular dodge, just keep moving. Torch gives you and additional AOE to the trap as well as a short range attack. Pet will instantly re-engage when thief pops back up. When I down a thief, I often just let the pet finish it off while I move on to something else.
I admit it, I bought crates for my husband and I on the first day they were available. He got a weapon ticket on the very first crate he opened. And not one after that.
Me….well I’ve opened probably near 100 crates (some bought, some drops) and not one bloody ticket. I just want one of the skins….Yeah I’d love to have the sword/torch combo but it’s looking like I won’t even be able to get one.
I’m going to finish the event achievements, but I give up. My drop rate sucks as is so I don’t think I’ll ever get a ticket now.
The first day of the event my drop rate was nice. The risk vs. reward was perfect. I wasn’t getting rares or exotics every time I opened a ‘gator chest, but it was just enough to keep me going. Since that first patch, I’m lucky to get rares. I wander all over the island and I kill everything. I think I’ve gotten maybe 5-8 of the southsun crates to drop….and they’re all the same fruit/shell/flowers.
I’m disappointed but not surprised.
You know what? I have a ticket I could give a rats kitten about. I wanted a mini Kasmeer but only got 6 crates to drop during this whole event with farming & events for 2-4 hours almost every day with 230-370ish mf (various characters).
- I can’t sell the ticket
- I can’t trade it in for a mini
- I can’t sell the weapon skin
- I can’t afford a mini kasmeer on the market unless I go run cof p1 35 times or so.

This. I was ‘blessed’ with a ticket from a random crate drop. I have no desire for the ticket and no method to get it to someone who really cares about them. Account bound is lame.
Putting greens in these is minorly insulting. Either the rare > or nothing imo.
You can level multiple times per day, even faster now with doubled WvW exp. given. Rares as a minimum would have been too much honestly.
And last night I did 11 world meta events in the first hour after rollover collecting 18 rares. I certainly don’t think a rare+ for each WvW level is that excessive.
The greens in the level chests are insulting. It should be rare and above or nothing.

I love PvP. I dislike Crab Toss very much. It is very buggy and very frustrating. On top of that I just don’t like the design.
That being said, I appreciate that the devs gave enough options for achievements to get the story title without having to do every task. I hope they continue down this path since you can’t please everyone. Allowing flexibility in accomplishing goals is great.
Since it is temp content we shouldn’t have to worry about burn out.
That being said, I really enjoyed it as well. Definitely plan on running it some more.
Mentioned in map chat that they have a fix, but are doing some additional fixes before they release patch.
OK. Bugs happen. At least give us a time estimate, instead of leaving us here hanging.

Am I the only one who keeps the rares from PvE and chests, until I have four of the same weapon then throw thoes in the mystic toilet bowl? Any rare armour gets BLK salvaged for ectos instead.
Sadly still to get a single precursor, after probably 300-400 dragon chests and a couple 80 characters. Only 5 exotic ‘named’ weapons too, but I guess that’s just my bad luck.. le’sigh.
That is the method I use with weapons and armor (although for most off hand and water weapons I throw a mix in). And I did well over 1000 meta chests before I got that Venom. Weeee. Still in a mixed mood. Yay precursor, boo my RNG karma/luck wasted on a second Venom in a week. I may be an old man before I get another.

After 1300 hours played, last week Venom drops from a random Krait. Not that people are huge on water precursors. Just now Venom drops AGAIN for me from a Frozen Maw chest.
Yay for my luck at getting a precursor finally. But Venom twice? I think there goes all my RNG luck for the next year on 2 Venoms. :/
I am not sure you can really ‘search’ for one. I think I have around 1300 play hours, opened literally 1000s of meta chests, and thrown an unbelievable amount of stuff into the MF. Still, I ended up just buying my precursor.
Last week, though. Venom dropped from (I assume) a Krait in Sparkfly during the event where they attack the lab neat Teq. (Only a guess since I didn’t notice picking it up until I went to sell after the event).
But I know people with more hours and an UNREAL amount invested in the MF that are still empty handed. Either save the gold or play and pray.
It shouldn’t be tied to killing the boss. I have gone through multiple times almost certain I had them all. Double and triple checking, counting etc. Only to get to the boss and not get the achievement. I get it. I can beat it, do the jumps, etc. But at this point it is just frustrating.

Seriously, you shouldn’t be able to guest and chest on another server if you have completed it already somewhere else with that character. The meta events are unplayable since the patch.

I am glad I found this thread as I have been hit by DR for first time last night and I am thoroughly upset that it is affecting a legitimate player as myself. I thought I could farm CoF 4 or 5 times for the money, but when I went on my thief to level him I suddenly saw a reduction of 95 percent of everything from doing an event so I had to axe that idea and go to bed.
I woke up and did my daily routine and when I get on the kitten thing is still in effect? Wtf is this? What band of chimpanzees thought it was a good idea to leave this code in effect after the bots that were abusing farming are gone? I can not play my characters for quite sometime now and it is starting to make sense why the tier 6 materials and precursor items are so out of whack. It is amazing to me that Anet talked about high precursor prices, but they refuse to treat one of the most obvious of contributing factors. I would be laughing right now at this whole thing if I wasn’t so frustrated at it.

Run all over Orr. Log in the next day kill Claw, hit the Grawl tunnel…. barely anything drops. WP to Sparkfly and the same thing. Finally entered a dungeon and seemed to get better. But beyond the lack of drops, I had 11 straight white equipment drops between the two zones and that was with sparse loot at that.
I don’t even think they know quite how the DR code works, or if they do they should be a little more forthcoming.

As a ranger, my pet steals aggro from me, even when it’s set to not attack at all. Makes the dodging achievement rather awkward sometimes.
Set the pet to passive. Attack once and then hit Esc to cancel auto attack. Dodge away. The pet shouldn’t take agro.
Finished my monthly last night. I am glad they put the dungeons in, it was an area I was a little intimadated by. I have enjoyed exploring them and look to do them some more.
Mine was also reset to 0. Although I appear to still have the title available.
Removing WVW from map completion and PvE monthlys would be ideal, but if not, weekly color rotation would be massively welcome.
That is my problem. I am at 99% missing a couple POIs and Vistas being held in Red. My server hasn’t been Red for a long time. It is frustrating.
I am sitting at 99% and have been for almost a month since my server hasn’t finished 3rd in WvW. I am missing a half dozen pois/vistas for keeps that are always in red hands. There needs to be a different rotation for WvW colors.
